Greetings everyone. Mgunnels3 here, and welcome back to Ash's Unova Journey, my version. Let's get this chapter started, shall we?
Chapter 44: Clash of Gym Leaders Iris vs. Cillian
"Human Speech"
"Pokemon Speech"
The battle between Cillian and Iris began as Misty's Emolga was still recovering from revealing her youngest sister belonging to Iris.
"Is that the younger sister that Buizel blackmailed you into returning to Team Rocket, or did they take her?" Servine said to Emolga, who snapped out of it and nodded.
"Yeah, she is my youngest sister. As I said before, she is one of my three sisters. The other is with the city's gym leader and well-known Emolga, but now I don't know what to believe anymore?" Emolga said to Servine.
Servine and Misty feel terrible for her because Emolga made a deal with Buizel to protect her little sister. She has no choice but to be her evil self again.
"The match is about to begin. Let's watch your little sister battle, and we can talk later, Emolga?" Servine said to Emolga, who nodded and turned to the battlefield.
"Simisage vs. Emolga, let the battle begin," the announcer said as both Iris and Cillian were ready to get this going, as did Emolga and Simisage.
"Emolga, use Aerial ace," Iris commands Emolga as Emolga moves towards Simisage, who is ready for this.
"Now use Thunder Punch Simisage," Cillian commanded his Pokemon, who launched a Thunder Punch clashing with the Aerial ace attack and sending both Pokemon back.
Misty's Emolga was impressed by this as she saw her little sister's strength. Emolga knew that she was the one who was lacking between the three of her siblings and knew that she wished that she hadn't agreed to rejoin Team Rocket.
"Now use Seed bomb, Simisage," Cillian commanded Simisage, who launched a massive seed at Emolga, who was hit by this but recovered because of her typing.
"Now use Electro Ball," Iris commanded her Pokemon, who launched a ball of electricity toward Simisage.
"Use Solar beam," Cillian commanded his Pokemon, who threw a Solar beam at the Electro ball as both attacks hit them, knocking each other out.
"Emolga, Simisage, both are unable to battle," the announcer said as the crowd cheered. "This isn't getting less interesting for this type of level of battle, ladies, and gentlemen," the announcer said as both Iris and Cillian returned their Pokemon.
"Not bad, Iris. I wouldn't expect anything less from you at this caliber," Cillian said to Iris, who nodded.
"Same with you, Cillian, but don't think this isn't the end of this battle. Flygon comes on out," Iris sent out her next Pokemon.
"Sawbuck comes on out," Cillian sends out his next Pokemon. Ash scanned the next Pokemon that Cillian sent out as he had never seen that Pokemon.
"I guess Cillian has a traveling team ready for these types of competition that he doesn't use in his gym battles," Ash thought.
"I wondered when you would use that Pokemon at some point, Cillian, but that won't help you. Flamethrower Flygon," Iris commanded her ground/dragon Pokemon, who launched its attack at Sawbucks.
"Use Retaliate Sawbucks," Cillian commanded his Pokemon, who dodged the move and charged right at Flygon, hitting it and sending it back. "Now use Horn leach," Cillian used it just after the move hit the Flygon right after the Relatiate hits, doing some damage.
"Now use Dragon Tail Flygon," Iris commanded her Pokemon, who slammed its tail at Sawbucks, hitting it as its secondary effects sent Sawbucks back to its ball as Whimsicott was sent out from the previous matches.
"Ugh, I wasn't expecting this at all Iris is showing why she is who she is, but I won't hold back either," Cillian thought. "Use Psychic Whimsicott," Cillian commanded his Pokemon, who used a Psychic attack hitting Flygon hard, unable to move. "Now use Hurrican before she can recover Whimiscott," Cillian commanded his Pokemon as it launched its attack, hitting Flygon and knocking her out.
"Flygon is unable to battle Whimsicott wins. Cillian is ahead in the battle with two Pokemon as Iris has one Pokemon left," the announcer said as Iris returned her Flygon and sighed.
"Haxorus, come on out," Iris sent out her partner Pokemon who stood up, ready to battle the two Pokemon were prepared to battle. "Haxorus, use Giga Impact," Iris commanded her Pokemon as it charged in with a Giga Impact attack at a fast speed.
"Use Hurricane," Cillian commanded his Pokemon, but Giga Impact hit Whimiscott hard, sending it back before using that move. "Use Giga Drain," Cillian commanded his Pokemon, whose Cotten around its back glowed and launched it at Haxorus, hitting her and doing damage.
"Now X-scissors, Haxorus," Iris commanded her Pokemon as she charged in with her tusks and slammed right into Whimsicott, knocking it out.
"Whimsicott is unable to battle Haxorus wins," the announcer said as Cillian returned his Pokemon and sent out Sawbucks.
"Now this is the final battle, ladies, and gentlemen, to see who will be moving on to the semifinals, so we know that these two Pokemon will make things interesting," the announcer said
"Sawbucks use Horn leach," Cillian commanded his Pokemon, who launched its Horn at Haxorous as it hit her. "Use counter, Haxorus," Iris commanded her Pokemon as her claws slammed at Sawbucks, doing double the damage that Horn leach did to send it back. "Now use Dragon claw," Iris commanded her Pokemon, who charged in with her claws glowing.
"Now use Jump kick Sawbucks," Cillian commanded his Pokemon as the two Pokemon clashed their attacks, doing some good damage to each other.
"Now use Giga Impact," Both Iris and Cillian commanded their Pokemon as they charged in. The said moves clashed, causing an explosion big enough to cause shockwaves throughout the battlefield. The smoke from the collision cleared as it was revealed that Sawbucks was down and Haxorus was still standing. Cillian was shocked by this and is now upset.
"Sawbucks is unable to battle Haxorus wins moving onto the semifinals is Iris from Opolucid city," the announcer said as Iris ran to congratulate her Haxorus as the crowd cheered at this. Cillian returned his Pokemon and walked over to Iris.
"Well, Iris, I was hoping that this battle would end differently, but nicely done as the best trainer won today," Cillian said to Iris, who giggled at this, as did Haxorus.
"You're acting normal, Cillian, but yeah, that was a fun battle, and I won't lie, you almost had me in that battle, and you, of all people, didn't use Reliate when you sent out Sawbucks again, would've changed the outcome," Iris said to Cillian who looks stunned but had a reason why.
"Yeah, and the counter would've knocked him out, is more like you were thinking. Good luck in the next match I'll be watching," Cillian said as the two shook hands before leaving.
"Now that the last battle is done, we can now announce the top four trainers of the battle club," the announcer said as Ash, Misty Trip, and Iris had their full attention. "The final four battles are Ash vs. Trip and Misty vs. Iris," the announcer said as the four trainers were surprised by this.
"Tomorrow will be a day off, and then the battles will continue at noon so our contestants can rest and get their teams ready," the announcer said as the crowd left as the day approached.
The next day as Misty is with her, Emolga asks Iris if she could let Emolga out after explaining Misty Emolga's relationship with hers. "Sure, I don't think that is a bad idea. Just because we are going to battle each other doesn't mean we can't get along, especially with our Pokemon being siblings," Iris said to Misty, who nodded.
Iris lets Emolga out, who instantly recognizes her older sister and shares a hug with Misty's Emolga. "I'll let her not be in our battle tomorrow and let you two enjoy this time together, right, Misty?" Iris said to Misty, who nodded at this.
"Yeah, I think that'll be a good idea for them. Just stay in the area, you two. We don't want you two to be mistaken for a wild Pokemon, do we?" Misty said as Emolga nodded as Misty and Iris went their separate ways.
Misty's Emolga is turning to her little sister.
"You had me, worried little sis. I visited our birthplace where I last saw you. I thought the worst happened to you," Misty's Emolga said, nearly in tears.
"I'm sorry, sis. I joined Iris's team shortly after you and both big sisters left your separate ways, and why are you in tears? Big sis knows I am with a new trainer," Iris's Emolga said to Misty's Emolga, whose ears went down and looked down.
"Look, before I met Misty, I've been doing things that I don't want you to get involved with, regardless of your trainer being a gym leader. I thought you were taken by the group I was initially working for, and now I feel that the next time you see me, I won't be the exact middle sister, you know. So please don't tell big Sis, our middle sister, if you see her. I know that I will be seeing her as well," Misty's Emolga said, trying to hide her ties to Team Rocket as she could tell that her little sister wasn't buying that she was telling the whole story but letting it go.
"Look, let's not ruin this moment and spend this time together, but you know that I will soon find out the real truth," Iris's Emolga said. The two were caught up more about how Iris's Emolga was doing than Misty's Emolga as Servine watched this from afar, smiling at this scene.
Meanwhile, even though she was a rock type, Ash and Dewott enjoyed his meal after his battle, as did Leavanny and Boldore. Ash was more worried about what Cameron's Dewott meant by that. Ash's Dewott knew what he was getting into and asked Dewott about this.
"Look, Ash, it's a right of passage for the youngest sibling to face the oldest sibling if they have any in a battle. It's not that we aren't doing this to hurt each other on purpose. It's part of what females are known for genetic-wise," Dewott said with a sigh as Ash was worried about what he meant by that.
"To female Dewott, no female members of my evolutionary line in the battle family doesn't matter. They'll try to win no matter what? The last several times she and I had practice battles, she's always tried to hold that back. But today, that part of her wasn't there. That is also one reason why our parents aren't living together. And why it's only the three of us? They have two different trainers is the other reason," Ash's Dewott explained to Ash.
"But that doesn't sound right to me. I understand it's a family thing, but I don't like that you might get seriously injured?" Ash said as Dewott was about to answer that but was interrupted by a familiar voice.
"It's not just his family, Ash, but all members of the Oshawott evolutionary line, whether it be the males being smaller than the females or the females being the one who is aggressive, it can't be helped, it's that right Dewott," Ash and Dewott turned to see the one talking was Trip's Servine, who knew Ash's Dewott and his family just as long as Dewott was annoyed by this.
"I was going to explain that, Servine, thank you very much," Dewott said to Servine, who sighed and held his vine out to stop it from going too far.
"Hey, Dewott, easy on him. He's just trying to help me explain that, and I can tell that you aren't the type to talk about this thing," Ash said to Dewott, who sighed and nodded.
"He's not wrong, Ash, for as long as I've known the guy. He's known my family as much as I have known his. His parents are in the same situation, two different trainers, and as far as I know it, your brother is the only one you have siblings wise?" Dewott said to Servine, who nodded and smiled, seeing that he talked to him like he used to back when they were kids.
"That isn't why I came here to talk about it?" Servine said to Ash and Dewott, who was curious about what he was talking about. "You noticed that I would evolve during my battle with my brother. I also noticed that you are about to evolve like me, Dewott. I'm sure that you remember our promise to each other?" Servine said to Dewott, whose eyes widened at this.
"That's as far as I remember. Is tomorrow exactly," Servine said to Dewott as this took him aback. Ash, on the other hand, was now curious about this.
With the Quarterfinals now done, things between Dewott and Servine have gotten more interesting as the battle club continues.
Stay tuned
Done and done; this chapter took a long time to work on, especially the battle part. I wanted to make this battle as strong as possible, though it went by fast. But it turned out well for the last part with Ash's Dewott and Trip's Servine. If you read the rewritten chapters early on in the beginning parts of the battle club, this will come to a head in the following three chapters. A three-parter is coming up next. As we learn more about that promise, the two make the next chapter. See you next time.
