Chapter 46: The Promise we made pt 2: the forgiveness

"Human Speech"

"Pokemon Speech"

The battle between Ash and Trip in the battle club's semifinals was about to begin as Pignite and Scolipede stared each other down.

"Pignite vs. Scolipede, let the first battle of this 3v3 battle begin," the announcer announced as the battle began.

"Okay, Pignite, use Flamethrower," Ash commanded his fire starter as Pignite launched a flamethrower at Scolipede.

"Use Protect Scolipede and then Buldoze," Trip commands his Pokemon as it protects itself from the Flamethrower and slams his legs on the ground, causing shockwaves on the floor towards Pignite shaking him while causing damage to Pignite.

"Ugh, use Heavy Slam and Flame charge, Pignitie," Ash commands his fire-starter, who jumps and uses both attacks at Scolipede.

"Fight back with Steamroller and Rollout Scolipede. Counter it," Trip commands his Pokemon, who used the said moves, to jump towards Pignite. The moves clashed with each other as both were standing, but Pignite was poisoned.

"Oh no, Pignite is poisoned," Ash said as Trip smirked. "And that's checkmate, Ash. Use Venoshock Scolipede," Trip commands his Pokemon, who launched massive poison gunk at Pignite.

"Oh no, you don't, Trip. Use Flamethrower to stop the Venoshock Pignite," Ash commanded his Pokemon, who launched a Flamethrower at the Venoshock. The Flamethrower overpowered the Venoshock, minus getting woozy from the Poison Pignite managed to hit Scolipede, knocking him out.

"Scoipede, no, even after all that," Trip said.

"Scolipede is unable to battle Pignite wins," the announcer said as Trip returned Scolipede to his ball before pulling out his next ball.

"Jelicent, come on out," Trip sent out his second Pokemon, his newly evolved Frillish, as Ash was about to return Pignite. "Oh no, you don't use Mean Look," Trip commanded his Pokemon, which landed its move on Pignite, preventing him from being returned to his ball until the battle was over.

"Ugh, you aren't going to make this battle easy, Trip," Ash thought as Trip smirked at this. He knew about the whole thing with Servine and Dewott the other day but wasn't going to make this battle easy for Ash as Trip was out to win this battle. "Alright, Pignite, use Heavy Slam," Ash commanded his Pokemon.

"Counter it with Psychic Jellicent," Trip commanded his Pokemon, who caught Pignite with its attack, which caught Ash off guard.

"Pignite, get out of there with Flamethrower," Ash commanded his Pokemon. He struggled both under the Psychic attack and the Poison throughout his body.

"Now use Water pulse," Trip commanded his Pokemon, who fired a water ball toward Pignite, hitting and knocking him out. Ash ran over to Pignite after seeing him getting knocked out.

"Pignite is unable to battle Jellicent wins," the announcer said as the crowd cheered at this. Ash tries to return Pignite, who shakes his head at this.

"I'll be fine watching the rest of this battle as long as I don't move as much, please, Ash?" Pignite said to Ash, who nodded and carried Pignite to where Servine was. Ash turned to servine, who nodded at this.

"Alright, Servine, you're up next," Ash said as she ran to the battlefield. Trip smirked at this and was ready for her. "Servine, use Leaf blade," Ash commanded Servine, who charged in quickly towards Jellicent.

"Now use Trick Room, Jellicent," Trip commanded his Pokemon. Ash wasn't expecting this as a wall of glass formed around the battlefield as Servine was slowing down significantly as if she had gained weight to her legs. "Now, Ice beam, Jellicent," Trip commanded his Pokemon, who launched its attack at Servine.

"Use Mirror coat, Servine," Ash commanded her Trip was surprised to hear this as the Ice beam was sent right back at Jellicent, hitting it. "Now use Leaf Storm before it can recover from this attack," Ash commanded Servine, who spun and launched the attack right at Jellicent, who tanked it, but its cursed body ability kicked in.

"Ugh, use Water Pulse and Shadow ball, Jellicent," Trip commanded his Pokemon as it launched its attack at Servine Servine's tail absorbed energy as Ash noticed this.

"Now use Solar beam, Servine," Ash commands Servine as she fires the attack at the attacks causing an explosion, sending both Pokemon back to the Trick room walls and knocking them out as the Trick room ends.

"Servine and Jellicent are both unable to battle the match are now tied with both sides having one Pokemon each," the announcer said. Ash ran to pick up Servine as Trip, who returned his Pokemon.

"You did good, Servine; now take a good rest, girl," Ash said to Servine, who smirked and nodded.

"Thanks, Ash. I want to see how this battle ends now, and best of luck to Dewott," Servine said to Ash as he placed her near Pignite and turned to Trip, who smiled at this.

"I must say, Ash, you've impressed me and given me this type of battle I wanted. You know who is next, and I won't go easy on you two, Ash Servine. Your up," Trip said as his Servine came to the battlefield ready to battle as Ash pulled out Dewott's Pokeball.

"Dewott, come on out," Ash sent out his water starter to face Servine in this battle and knew that this wasn't just a battle about the two of them but for their trainers.

"Bring it, Servine. I've been training for this ever since we were kids; this time, you won't beat me," Dewott said while holding out his Scahlchop and got into a stance, as did Servine.

"Bring it, Dewott," Servine said, nodding to Dewott noticing that Dewott had changed his attitude towards him.

"Seems like these two are raring to fight Ash. Let's not make them wait," Trip said to Ash, who nodded. "Servine, use Leaf blade," Trip commanded his grass starter, whose tail glowed green and charged in towards Dewott.

"Counter with Razor shell Dewott," Ash commanded Dewott. As the two attacks collided, the two were evenly matched, minus the type disadvantage Dewott had against Servine. "Now use Revenge," Ash commanded his Pokemon, who used the other shell to slam right into Servine's back, sending him to the ground. However, the Scahlchop Dewott used to block Leaf Blade was sent flying across the battlefield.

Trip's Servine got up smiling at this as Dewott finally got a good hit on him since most of those clashes in the past, he usually won them. Dewott smiled at this as well. Even with one Scahlchop, he could still fight like usual. However, this was starting to look familiar to both of them, and it is the day that the two of them made their promise made it even more familiar. Dewott halted his movement, realizing this was the time to speak to Servine.

"To think that this battle is almost exactly like it was that day we found that Everstone, Servine," Dewott said as Servine nodded. "Servine, look, I'm sorry for blaming you. I should have asked you when I found out who said that, and," Dewott was interrupted by Servine.

"You don't need to apologize to me, Dewott. And come on, you know me better than anyone at the lab. I wouldn't make a promise as big as that if I had planned on betraying your trust, you know that, especially with someone I wanted to be my younger brother Dewott, heck You should've realized that when I asked Servine and Pignite to look after you as friends," Servine said to Dewott, who nodded at this.

Dewott would continue the battle only to see that Servine was holding a familiar stone. A stone that brought a tear to Dewott's eye and memories.

Things are getting interesting as the battle club's Semifinals are brought to a standstill, and a promise is about to be kept as the battle club's semifinals continue.

Stay tuned.
