Greetings, Mgunnels3 here, and welcome back to Ash's Unova Journey My Version. It's time for my version of the Nimbasa gym battle that said let's get this going.
Chapter 52: Dazzling the Nimbasa Gym pt 2: Ash vs. Elisa
"Human Speech"
"Pokemon Speech"
We joined our heroes on the day of Ash's gym battle against Elisa.
Ash and Elisa were in their respective trainer's boxes. Misty, Brock, Zorua, Pikachu, and Servine were behind Ash. As Bianca and her father were to the left of Ash. The ref from yesterday was getting into position.
"The Nimbasa gym battle between Ash and Elisa will now begin. Each trainer will be allowed the maximum usage of three Pokemon, and only the challenger can make substitutions during the match. Now let out your first Pokemon," the ref announced as Ash and Elisa held out their first Pokeballs.
"Zebstrika, come on out," Elisa sent out her first Pokemon.
"Fraxure, come on out," Ash also sent out his first Pokemon. Both Pokemon stared each other down as this was Fraxure's first gym battle, and she wasn't as nervous as she was back in the battle club.
"Fraxure vs. Zebstrika, let the battle begin," the ref announced.
"Zebstrika uses Flame Charge," Elisa commanded her Pokemon, who charged in at Fraxure.
"Use Dragon claw Fraxure," Ash commanded her, whose claw glowed and slashed at Zebstrika as the two were sent back after the moves collided.
"Use Thrash," Elisa commanded her Pokemon, who charged at Fraxure, hitting her.
"Counter now," Ash commanded Fraxure, who sent the attack right back at Zebstrika, sending her to the ground but not out. But Zebstrika was struggling to get up. "End this with Bulldoze," Ash commanded her, whose foot slammed on the floor, shaking Zebstrika to the point that she was knocked out.
"Zebstrika is unable to battle. Fraxure wins," the ref said as Fraxure let out a roar of happiness at this, but Ash knew that this battle had just begun. Elisa returned Zebstrika to her Pokeball.
"Not bad, Ash. You impressed me so far, but as you saw before, I have more up my sleeve," Elisa said as Ash smiled, took off his hat, and bowed to her, showing respect. "Now, let's continue, Emolga, come on out," Elisa sent out her next Pokemon.
"Now the real battle begins," Ash thought. "Fraxure, use Dragon Claw," Ash commanded her, who charged in and tried to slash at Emolga.
"Acrobatics, Emolga," Elisa commanded her Pokemon, who attacked Fraxure quickly to ensure that Fraxure couldn't keep up. Fraxure took a knee. She was running out of steam. "End this with Electro Ball," Elisa commanded her Pokemon, who fired a ball of Electricity at Fraxure, knocking her out.
"Fraxure is unable to battle Emolga wins," the ref announced as Ash returned Fraxure congratulated her for the excellent battle before turning to Elisa.
"Well, Elisa, you show why you are known to be a tough gym leader, but I won't let this get to me. Krokorok comes on out," Ash sent out his next Pokemon.
"Not a good Pokemon against a Pokemon who is also a flying type, Ash?" Elisa said to Ash, who remained calm about this, knowing that she wasn't aware of what Krokorok had up his sleeve.
"Use Attract," Elisa commanded her Pokemon, who used the attack toward Krokorok.
"Use dig to dodge it," Ash commanded his Pokemon, quickly dodging the attack. "Now use stone edge," Ash commanded him and jumped out and launched the stones right at Emolga, which hit Emolga hard. Elisa was worried. Given that Krokorok is a ground and a dark type, most, if not all, of Emolga's moves couldn't do much to him.
"Acrobatics now," Elisa commanded her Pokemon, who launched her attack on Krokorok, who was taking this. Krokorok got a good glimpse of Emolga during this.
"Now use Thunder Fang Krokorok," Ash commanded him. Elisa wasn't expecting that move as Krokorok landed a hit on Emolga, shocking and knocking her out.
"Emolga is unable to battle. Krokorok wins," the ref announced as Elisa returned her Pokemon. She was still surprised by this but smiled at this and pulled out her last Pokeball.
"Eelektross, come on out," Elisa sent out her last Pokemon. Servine knew precisely who that was from yesterday and knew that this battle was only beginning.
"Careful, Ash, this Pokemon isn't someone to be taken lightly," Servine said to Ash. Ash looked to Servine, thinking he had this battle in the bag, given that Krokorok is a ground type and just an electric type.
"Use Dig now," Ash commanded Krokorok, who went underground as Elisa and Eelektross smirked and didn't do anything as Krokorok came out to hit the Eel Pokemon but only for it not to land at all. Ash and Krokorok were surprised by this. Servine facepalmed at this.
"Should've warned him about this Ash the Eelectross line's ability Levitate. This is why some Electric-type trainers here in Unova have a member of this Pokemon's evolutionary line on their team," Servine said to Ash which Ash wasn't expecting nor was planning on that being the case. Ash groaned at this.
"And that's checkmate, Ash. Use Brick Break," Elisa commanded her Pokemon, whose arm glowed and slammed at Krokorok, knocking him out.
"Krokorok cannot battle Eelektross wins," the ref announced. Ash was surprised by this but returned Krokorok to his ball.
"Sorry, Krokorok, I wasn't expecting that to happen," Ash said to Krokorok in his ball before placing it back on his belt. Ash pulled out his last Pokeball. "Blitzle, come on out," Ash sent out his final Pokemon, who was ready to battle.
"I know that Blitzle might be at a disadvantage against Eelektross because it's in its final stage, but we did limit her move pull against her," Ash thought, only to see Elisa smirk at this, seeing that Ash did this on purpose, but she had a few moves up her sleeve. "Blitzle uses Flame Charge," Ash commanded her, who charged at Eelektross.
"Aqua tail," Elisa commanded her Pokemon, which powered up its tail only for Blitzle to dodge it at the last second and slam right into Eelektross. Elisa was shocked that Ash was studying her battle against Bianca and knew he could get around Eelekross in close combat.
Ash smiled at this as he knew that he could use this to his advantage, but Servine, on the other hand, was more worried. She knows that this Pokemon has more moves up its sleeve. "Now use Double Kick Blitzle," Ash commanded Blitzle, whose hooves launched at Eelektross only to be blocked by Eelektross. "Uh oh," Ash said.
"Use Flamethrower Eelektross," Elisa commanded her Pokemon, who fired right at Blitzle, sending her to the ground. Blitzle was struggling to get up.
"Come on, Blitzle. You can do it. I believe in you," Ash said to Bliztle, who was listening. She remembered that Ash was there for her when she needed someone to talk to when she met Ash as she let out a tear before getting up. Blitzle started to glow as she was evolving.
Ash, Elisa, and everyone else was surprised that Ash was more family to her than her own family and now was ready to win this. Blitzle was now a Zebstrika and nayed at this loudly and snorted.
"Use Flamethrower," Elisa commanded her Pokemon, who fired another Flamethrower at Zebstrika.
"Wild Charge now," Ash commanded her, who charged in at Eelektross, hitting it and sending it to the wall hard. Eelektross barely gets up.
"Use Giga Impact," Elisa commanded her Pokemon, who charged at Ash's Zebstrika.
"Use Wild Charge," Ash commanded Zebstrika as the attacks clashed head-on. As the two were not backing down only for Ash's, Zebstrika was much stronger and overpowered Eelektross and sent him back to the wall, knocking it out.
"Eelektross is unable to battle Zebstrika wins, and the match goes to Ash Ketchem from Pallet Town," the ref said as Ash celebrated Zebstrika smiled at this, and Ash ran to and hugged her.
"You did it, Zebstrika. You did great," Ash said to her, who nuzzled Ash.
"Thank you, Ash. I owed you for taking me in and treating me like family. Now I am returning it to you," Zebstrika said to Ash, who chuckled and nodded. Everyone applauded as Zorua was impressed by this, as did Servine. Though Zorua hated to admit it, seeing these battles made her anticipate seeing more, given that she was traveling with Ash and the others.
Everyone was outside the gym as Ash was handed the Bolt Badge, which Ash happily accepted. "Now, the next gym should be the Driftville City gym just across the bridge outside the city," Elisa said to Ash, who nodded at this.
"Thanks, Elisa. We will be heading there at some point. I would like to see the city before we leave, given that it's been a while since I was last here," Ash said to Elisa, who nodded in understanding.
"I'll be looking at the Musical theater before heading to Driftville City, Ash," Bianca said to Ash, who nodded. "Next time we meet, we should have a battle. This time no more issues," Bianca said to Ash.
"You got it, Bianca, and I'm always looking forward to battles with my rivals. Take care," Ash said as Bianca and her father took off as Ash and the others headed to the Pokemon center.
With a new gym badge in hand, Ash and the others take the next day to enjoy some time in the city as the Journey continues.
Stay tuned.
Done and done, man. This chapter was fun to write. Admit it. This gym battle needed to be changed. You know it, I know it. We all know that the original gym battle was one of the worst and the low point of BW (in more ways than one). But I had Blitzle evolve, and Fraxure had her first battle outside of the battle club arc. I was going to do more on Team Rocket next chapter, but we will detour it and meet everyone's champion version of Brock, Alder. See you next time.
