Greetings, Mgunnels3 here, and welcome back to Ash's Unova Journey My Version. We are almost halfway through the story after the gym battle in Driftville City or the two-parter after it. Depending on how long the PWT is chapters-wise. Next, we have a request capture that isn't part of the Driftville bridge.
Chapter 55: Power

We joined our heroes as they left the city and headed towards the bridge to Driftville City.
"Well, we are on our way to the next city and the next gym battle, Akira," Ash said to Zorua. Who was in human form, still grasping why gym battles are essential to Ash, given that she has seen one already.
"I understand you are excited about it, Ash. But what is the point of all this? I'm not a massive fan of battles," Zorua said to Ash, who sighed.
"It's part of my Journey and why I was here in Unova. As a Pokemon trainer, it's what drives us to get stronger as both Trainers and Pokemon," Ash said to Zorua.
"I understand, Ash, but I will watch your gym battles. I'm a part of your traveling group and see the end of the Journey till its end, but I'm still concerned about what Team Rocket is planning," Zorua said. Ash nodded as the group saw the bridge leading to the next town across the sea.
"Wow, look at that," Misty said. Everyone was amazed by this as Brock looked at the guidebook.
"According to the guidebook, it's labeled as the Charizard Bridge. It's known to have flying types of all different types, and legend has it. They would drop some powerful assorted wings to help strengthen Pokemon," Brock explained to the group, who were amazed upon hearing this.
"It's no legend. It's a fact," Servine said to Brock crossing her arms as Zorua translated what Servine said to Misty and Brock.
"Huh? You know something about that Servine?" Misty asked Servine after Zorua translated this to Misty and Brock. Servine nodded.
"I've seen trainers having these wings. They aren't the type to be abused, possibly something Team Rocket shouldn't be using," Servine said to the group. Ash and the others saw some trainers running towards town with injured Pokemon on time.
"Huh? Are you okay? What is going on?" Ash asked the young trainer, who looked at the group.
"Yeah, be careful, as there is a flock of flying types attacking trainers on the bridge, one of them being a Ducklett," the young trainer said before running off.
"Misty, you don't think?" Ash said to Misty, who nodded at this.
"The same Ducklett sibling that Team Rocket has under their control wonder if Emolga is a part of this again?" Misty said to Ash, who also was worried about this.
"There isn't any other way around to Driftville City, you guys, so we have to deal with this," Brock told Ash and Misty. Ash and the others walked over to the bridge and noticed that it was quiet, even for a place known for flying types.
However, Ash noticed a young flying type lying on the ground. It was a Vullaby. Ash and the others tried to help it but were attacked by a few Tranquil nearby.
"Pikachu use thunderbolt," Ash commanded Pikachu, who launched a stream of electricity at the Tranquil, hitting them before they flew off. Ash tended to the Vullaby with the help of Brock, of course, as it woke up.
"Hey, easy, you're in no shape to fly now," Ash said to Vullaby, who nodded at Ash.
"Thank you, human. Those Tranquil were starting some trouble since that Ducklett came by," Vullaby said, which worried the group.
"That Ducklett, does he sound laid back and rather do something else than what he is asked?" Misty asked the young Vullaby.
"Huh? I know that Ducklett is much different from what you are telling me, but he was complaining about being here, that I will say," Vullaby said to Misty, which Zorua translated to her.
"Sounded like the former Ducklett sibling's younger brother," Misty said, and Vullaby's eyes widened.
"Wait, he's that Ducklett. Why is he here? This is far from a prank, as I heard that they broke up recently," Vullaby said.
"The assorted wings of the bridge, if I had to guess, as for why they broke up is cause they are on our team," Servine said to Vullaby, who looked down. "Don't worry about it, Vullaby. These humans have no interest in those Vullaby. Their Pokemon, including myself, are strong enough and don't need it. Still, maybe we can help them," Servine explained to Vullaby, who nodded. The group was talking about what to do next, only to be spotted by Emolga, who sighed at this.
"Figured that they were here given that this is the only way to the next town. But they could've waited until tomorrow to continue their Journey," Emolga said, using her communicator. "Ducklett, you finished getting those wings. We have twerps here," Emolga said to Ducklett, who groaned.
"I have almost a full set of each one, commander Emolga. But why aren't you helping," Ducklett said to Emolga, who glared at him and was shocked by her glare.
"Because you need to pull your weight Ducklett and not be in a position to catch Pokemon. You know what, Ducklett, why don't you come here and try to fight them? I'll take care of the rest," Emolga said to Ducklett, who nodded with a smirk knowing that he would get some time to get his new power against Ash and the others as he flew over to where she was.
Emolga smirked and flew off towards the gathering of wings as Ducklett smirked upon seeing the group and fired a Scald right at Ash and the others.
"Woah, move it," Ash said as the group moved out of the way as they heard quacks of laughter. "Show yourself, Ducklett. We know that you are here," Ash said out loud.
"Not bad twerps. You have gotten smarter with moving out of the way of my attacks," Ducklett said as he was perched on one of the bridge's railings before flying down.
"Ducklett, you have changed since we last saw you. Why are you still with Team Rocket? You must know what they are doing," Ash was interrupted by Ducklett.
"Save it, Ash. You need to get somewhere near the old me. Team Rocket is my master's, and you took my family from me, you two," Ducklett told Ash and Misty.
Ash and Misty send out his Brother and sister to try to reason with him fighting him, at least who noticed that he had changed not just personality-wise but also looks-wise. His feathers were a bit darker blue than before, so they almost didn't recognize him.
"Brother, what happened to you?" Swanna and Ducklett said to their younger Brother as Ducklett laughed and snickered at the fact that his siblings were proving what Team Rocket fed him about them forgetting him even though he was more changed the way he looked.
"I've gotten stronger thanks to Team Rocket and Zoroark and the wings of the flying types here," Ducklett said while glaring at his once former siblings, who were taken aback by this as he fired a massive Air slash right at the group, that looked to be a whirlwind as both Swanna and her middle Brother took flight.
"Swanna, use Aerial Ace," Ash commanded her.
"Ducklett use Air cutter," Misty commanded him as the two fired their attacks at their younger Brother. Their younger Brother used a move that Zorua recognized instantly. Night Daze at their attacks and Swanna and Ducklett were surprised.
"What's wrong, Zorua? Did you recognize your mother's signature move coming from anyone other than you or her? You didn't think it would make us like her and nothing else when we were connected to your mother's ball?' Ducklett said to Zorua, whose eyes widened. "A part of her genetics is in all of us, including some of her moves," Ducklett laughed.
"They are monsters changing their Pokemon to cheat and give them moves that they can't know, not even through egg moves," Brock said as Ducklett sent an Ice Beam right at Ash and the others. And then launched an Air Slash at his siblings, angry upon hearing that he was called a cheater, sending them to the ground.
"Shut your mouth, human. You call yourselves trainers and can't even stand against me. How can you handle the rest of my friends, especially in this phase of our mission?" Ducklett said, only to be interrupted by Emolga on the communicator.
"We have enough now. Ducklett fall back and return to base," Emolga said to Ducklett, who groaned, but she was the boss. Ducklett used Night Daze again to cause a smokescreen to get away.
"YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE LAST OF ME, TWERPS. I'LL GET YOU BACK FOR TAKING MY FAMILY AWAY FROM ME. A NEW ERA OF TEAM ROCKETS IS UPON US. AND YOU WON'T WIN AGAINST THEM," Ducklett yelled before fading away.
Brock was healing Swanna and Ducklett as they were still upset by hearing that Ducklett did that.
"Man, I can't believe they did that to Ducklett, not to mention their Pokemon," Misty said to Ash before returning Ducklett to his ball.
"I can see why you warned us about those wings, Servine if they can cause that much power to these two," Brock said to Servine, who sighed and held the, I guess, gesture with her arms.
"I warned you, but I guess they aren't as strong if what you told us about the original dark ball when you last saw it," Servine said as Ash remembered how strong the original Dark Ball was with a legendary Pokemon and realized something.
"Must be not a Prototype of the original if they need those wings," Ash said to Servine and looked at Swanna, still injured from that Air Slash.
"I'm fine, Ash, don't worry about it, that's not our brother that we saw there not anymore," Swanna said to Ash, who was more hurt seeing her like this as Vullaby was about to say something to Ash.
"Can I join you, Ash? I want to get stronger, and I am not the type to cause trouble, minus what my evolutionary line is known for," Vullaby said to Ash, who nodded at her.
"Of course, you can. But I have a full party on my team, but you will get stronger the right way and with my former flying types at home," Ash said to Vullaby, who smiled at this.
"I'm fine with that. Ash and I can learn as much as possible. When I'm on your team, treat me nicely, and I love to make friends, and you won't have any problems with me," Vullaby said. Ash smiled and nodded, pulled out a Pokeball, tapped her, and caught her.
The group is leaving for the next town and the site of the next gym battle.
With the bridge back to normal and a new capture to the team, Ash and the gang are now in Driftville City. What else is in store for them as the Journey continues?
Meanwhile, back at Team Rocket base as Ducklett returned.
"You had to open your beak and tell them about what we did to you, not to mention the rest of the group Ducklett," Buizel scolded Ducklett, who groaned. "And then use some of those wings to get you the advantage against them that we'll leave alone, but you are lucky that we haven't released you from Team Rocket cause of your little stunt."
"Hey, I got the job done Emolga didn't do anything until she asked me to take care of the twerps for her. I had to do that to show them how the wings should be used. Even you would do that. I'm not surprised if Emolga did that while I was gone too," Ducklett defended himself to Buizel, who sighed and had to admit that Ducklett had a point about using it if he wanted to.
"The job is done, Buizel. Leave him be, and Ash and the others would've found out about that," Giovanni said to Buizel, to who he and Ducklett bowed.
"Right now, we are more interested in strengthening the rest of you as the next mission is yours, Buizel. The next city is a source of the city's supplies, the Cold Storage. Emolga deserved this time off but got information about what she was planning. She's up to something, and we can't change that she will betray us," Giovanni said. "As for you, Ducklett, one more going against our mission, and you will be released. You cost the mission twice. Do you want that," Giovanni said to Ducklet, who was taken aback and shook his head.
"Yes, boss, Ducklett, take the time to power up the rest of the team. This is my mission," Buizel ordered Ducklett, who nodded and did so as Buizel left.

Done and done. Man, this chapter was fun to write. Bakagon's Reboot Dragonoid requested Vullaby. While I have the other half of that regional bird of Unova later, this was a reasonable request. Before I get the whole Ducklett, shouldn't know that move in the reviews. Remember, Team Rocket had made them all like Zoroark and connected their Dark Balls to hers, so it should happen.
