Greetings, Mgunnels3 here, and welcome back to Ash's Unova Journey My version. Let's get this request capture going, shall we?
Chapter 61: Help with confidence
"Human Speech"
"Pokemon Speech"
'Telepathy'
We joined our heroes as they were at the Pokemon center Archen was spending time with Unfezant and trying to get his flying going. He was doing well, but his lack of confidence was hurting Archen. Little did he know it, but help might be on the way.
Archen was panting as he tried to get keep up with Unfezant. "Come on, Archen; you can do it. I'm sure you can get the hang of flying and battling," Unfezant said to Archen, trying to cheer him up. "Look, I know you are scared, and I want to help you more than ever. I know what it's like to be afraid and not sure of things, but the help of your friends and family matters," Tranquil said to Archen.
"I know we are family and all that, Auntie Unfezant, and I am happy that you took me in," Archen looked down. "But I don't know about battling-wise after seeing you tie yesterday, and I feel like if I don't do well, I will upset Ash and you and Uncle Starraptor," Archen said, looking down as Unfezant placed her wing on his back as he looked up.
"Hey, I'm here for you, and don't think that. When I was starting under Ash's training, he put a lot of faith in me but reminded me that he not only sees me as a family but believes in me and everyone on the team," Unfezant said to Archen. Who was looking up at her eyes widened upon hearing that."Please don't overthink things, Archen. Ash does care for all of us, and yes, the reason why you are on the team is the cause of me, but it was everyone who wanted you to join the team to get you better and a new life," Unfezant said, Archen smiled weakly towards her.
"Everyone, lunch," Ash announced as Unfezant heard him.
"Coming, Ash, come on, you should be hungry after doing all that. Please take what I said to heart," Unfezant said to Archen, who nodded and walked with her to the lunch area for the Pokemon. Archen nodded slowly and walked with her to where Ash was. The same Pokemon from the other day was watching the entire thing.
"She is right about his training and takes it to heart, but he needs more than one mon to help support him, especially since he is more upset about his past," the Pokemon said. "It's time for me to introduce myself, and that human they have seems like a friendly trainer for me, especially after seeing his battle the other day."
Ash and the others were eating. Ash looked at Archen and noticed that he was still upset and less confident, and Misty noticed and noticed that Ash was concerned. "Still worried about Archen, Ash? I don't know what to do Unfezant has helped with his flying skills, but he was concerned about battling," Misty said to Ash, who nodded.
"I'm not going to release him because of it, Misty. You know that I'm not that type of trainer, and as you said, Unfezant is doing her best for him, and I am letting her do what she can to help. But even I don't know what to do. She knows how his evolutionary line runs, not me," Ash said to Misty, who nodded.
"What are you going to do when he is ready to train? Or are you going to let Tranquil do that?" Misty asked Ash as he looked up his moves. "From what I am looking at, moves-wise, he has the following moves," Ash said as Unfezant listened as she wasn't sure what his moves were.
"Dragons Claw, Earth Power, Acrobatics, Steel Wing, and U-turn," Ash said as Unfezant's eyes widened as Ash noticed this. "What is it, Unfezant? Is something wrong?" Ash asked Unfezant, who shook her head.
"No, it's just most of those moves his evolutionary line doesn't learn until later in his training, but he knows it?" Unfezant said. Ash and Zorua translated this, and everyone who heard it was surprised; however, Archen was now even more nervous than ever.
'Hey, don't be like that little one. Everyone is special and was raised differently growing up,' A male voice said in a telepathic voice so that the whole group could hear as a green-looking Pokemon that looked like an orb or microcell was floating towards the group.
Ash scanned the Pokemon, which turned out to be a Solosis, a psychic-type Pokemon. 'Relax, you all; I'm not here to cause problems. I've watched this little guy and how he acted the other day. I've also been through a rough childhood like him,' Solosis explained to the group.
Everyone was skeptical about him, but Akela, aka Zorua, piped up.
"It's okay. Solosis is not going to cause harm. Solosis, it's been a while," Zorua said to Solosis, who nodded.
'I didn't know that you were with a trainer Zorua?' Solosis said as Ash was surprised that Zorua knew him.
"Zorua, you know him?" Servine asked her, who nodded.
"Yeah, he's the one who taught me how to use telepathy, and he's been an orphan the longest I've known the guy. His parents were taken by Team Rocket when momma was taken as well," Zorua said to Servine and the others.
"Well, from what I was told, my dad was taken, not my mom. I found out she was an elite four Pokemon. That is what Serperior told me," Solosis said to Zorua, which caught Servine's attention.
"You mean my mother, she too was taken by Team Rocket recently, but I am sure you aren't here to retold stories, Solosis?" Servine questioned Solosis, who nodded.
'Yeah, I am here to help little Archen. Your aunt here is right. She is trying to help you, but maybe I can help you,' Solosis said. Archen was surprised to hear that Solosis would help him.
"Hold on before we continue there. I thought you two were cousin's Unfezant?" Misty questioned Unfezant.
"And I thought you were planning on telling him when he gets older?" Servine said to Unfezant, who sighed as Archen nodded to her.
"He found out that when I talked to Swellow about teaching him how to be faster on his speed and battle capabilities, there's only so much Starraptor and I can do. Swellow finds it suspicious that he called me mom when I just had my first batch of eggs, and well, I told him the truth," Unfezant said to the group, which Zorua translated to the group.
"Archen overheard this, and surprisingly he was Okay with this but felt it wasn't right to call his cousin his mother, so we agreed to have me be his aunt, given that is how I'm related to him. His mother is my aunt, so you can figure out why," Unfezant said, and the group understood why she was being called that now.
"How do you want to help him, if you don't mind me asking, Solosis?" Brock asked him.
'Well, I was hoping to have him battle me and maybe help him and join the team. I might not look it, but I want to be stronger and don't want to wander endlessly as a wild Pokemon,' Solosis answered. This took aback Unfezant and Archen as Archen has no experience in battle, and Unfezant knows it. 'If you are okay with it, Archen? That is,' Solosis said. Unfezant and Ash were about to say something, but Archen spoke up.
"I'll do it," Archen said as Unfezant and Ash were taken aback by this. "I need to stop being scared of not battling and unable to do things for myself, please. I want to fight to get over this," Archen pleaded with his cousin. Unfezant looked at Ash, who nodded as Unfezant sighed.
"Just don't overdo it, please, cousin or not. You are my responsibility," Unfezant said to Archen, who nodded.
'The only way he can grow is to do things himself, Unfezant. I'm not trying to overstep my bounds, just wanting to help,' Solosis said as Unfezant sighed and nodded. Solosis has a point, and she needs it for him to grow.
"Okay, let's do this, so regardless of the outcome, you will join the team anyway, Solosis?" Ash asked Solosis, who nodded.
'Yes, I want to get stronger, and I know that your Pokemon are helping these Pokemon so I can train with Archen during our time at the ranch, and you won't have any issues with me,' Solosis said to Ash, who nodded.
Solosis and Archen were in the center of the battlefield, with Ash in the trainer's box.
'You can go first, Ash,' Solosis said to Ash, who nodded as Unfezant, Servine, and Zorua watched on the sidelines.
"Archen, use Steel Wing," Ash commanded, whose wings glowed and charged at Solosis. Solosis spins and slams itself right into Archen. It was a Gyro Ball, and given that he was known to be slow, that would hit hard. "Dragon claw now," Ash commanded Archen, who slammed his claw right into the spinning Solosis. Solosis launched a ball of grass-type energy, which Servine recognized instantly.
"Acrobatics now, Archen, to dodge and then use Earth Power," Ash commanded Archen, who used the moves. Each time that Archen used these moves, he felt more comfortable in battle, especially since he was fighting on equal footing with another Pokemon that wasn't bigger than he was, not to mention his confidence was growing. Solosis used Night Shade at Archen.
"Woah, look out, use U-turn," Ash commanded Archen, who used the attack to get out of the way and slammed his wing into Solosis hard, sending him back as it used Recover and then used Gyro Ball. "Dragon Claw and U-turn," Ash commanded Archen as the two clashed and knocked each other out. They both were on equal footing regarding power, even though Archen is more known for being strong and fast. Unfezant and Zorua were surprised upon seeing this as Unfezant flew over to Archen. Ash ran over as well.
"Don't worry, he'll be alright and did a great job for his first battle, remember? You had tied in yesterday's battle, Unfezant, so this is a good teaching moment for Archen," Ash said to Unfezant, smiling and nodding as she agreed with Ash.
"Yeah, and I am proud of him. Well done, little one, you earned it," Unfezant said. Ash got both Pokemon healed as Solosis was ready to be caught by Ash.
"Okay, you can join the team. Just get along with the rest of the Pokemon and help Archen out whenever you can," Ash said to Solosis, who nodded.
'Deal, Ash, and I'll do my best,' Solosis said. Ash pulled out a Pokeball and caught Solosis without hassle as Solosis's Pokeball was sent to Professor Oak's lab.
"Well, you two, I guess it's time for both of you to return to the ranch unless you want to stay Unfezant?" Ash asked Unfezant, who shook her head.
"No, I got some eggs to attend to and to make sure that Archen is taken care of but don't worry, I will be back for any battle you need me for, no questions asked, and I'm sure that Archen here now wants to take part in some battles after all that?" Unfezant said to Ash, who nodded in understanding, and Archen nodded too.
"Yeah, I know that it's a bit late for gym badges, but who knows, I might be able to take part in one at some point in the Journey," Archen said.
"Maybe not the next gym. It's an Ice-type gym, but maybe the gym after it?" Ash said to Archen, who smiled and nodded as Unfezant nuzzled him, and Archen smiled. "Take care, you two," Ash said before returning them to their Pokeballs and sending them to Professor Oaks' lab. Ash sighed.
"Solosis is a man of his word, Ash. You can count on him to help him out confidence and get stronger. Just have faith in him," Zorua said to Ash, who nodded.
"Okay, let's continue our journey and head to Twist Mountain tomorrow," Ash said, and everyone agreed.
Help comes in many shapes, and with a new teammate, Archen will get stronger one day. What else is in store for the group as the Journey continues?
Later that night, elsewhere. Emolga was now standing in front of a massive tower near a mountain.
"Well, with all that out of the way, it's time for part two of my plan to take place," Emolga snickered. "I only need to manipulate some Pokemon here and let the twerps lead me to the main room and lure out the tower's guardian," Emolga heard her communicator ring and answered it. It was Zoroark.
"You need help there, dear you haven't reported for this mission," Zoroark said to Emolga as she waved her paw off.
"I'm waiting on the twerps to come this way like the last mission. Getting to my objective will be even tougher, but I know a few Pokemon here that can help me out, Zoroark, so put your faith in me," Emolga said with a sassy attitude.
"The bell and the guardian of the Tower is a tall order, but I am glad you are doing this. Zoroark out," Zoroark said while ending the call. Emolga sighed.
"I'm just doing this to get you all off my back, Zoroark. Sorry, Lampent, no hard feelings but your dad and this Tower will soon be mine," Emolga said, snickering before heading inside.
Little did Emolga know it, but a shadowy figure was watching from afar, that is Purplish-black color, who was glaring at her, and was ready to stop whatever was happening.
Stay Tuned.
Done and done. Man, this chapter was longer than I thought it would be. But I didn't want it to be. Oh, they meet Solosis, and then Ash catches it. Solosis was requested by one of my readers, which I thank for doing as I like using its evolutionary line more than Gothita (I regret nothing). And the capture requests keep coming, and we are done with the requests once the chapter after next comes out. So if you want one during the Udella town arc, do so. If not, remember I am taking Pokemon for the sequel, which is based in Orre. It's off to Celestial Tower before we head into a three-parter in Twist Mountain next. See you next time.
