Greeting everyone, Mgunnels3, here, and welcome to Ash's Unova Journey My Version. Sorry for the wait, as work and getting these chapters out takes a while. That and my reviews are getting smaller and smaller. Yes, 150 reviews are excellent, but I last saw a few reviews in a long time. And it's hard to write stories with a lack of feedback. Remember, folks. I take criticism and feedback, especially if you read my Johto story. I hate to be a beggar, but it's tough to work on this if no one is interested in it. Let's get this chapter started.
Chapter 62: Fight in the Mistraliton Tower
"Human Speech"
"Pokemon Speech"
We join our heroes as they make their way to Icirrus City and the site of Ash's next gym battle as they arrive at the tower in the middle of the route.
"That's Mistraliton tower, also known as the Celestial Tower, known for being both a cemetery and for having a bell at the topmost Pokemon that live in there are mainly Ghost-types and Psychic-types," Brock said to the gang, looking at the guidebook.
"If I remember correctly, Lampent was born here, and that bell is highly protected," Servine said to what Brock said as Zorua translated it.
"From what I remember, the nearby mountains will lead to Icirrus City, and it's going to be a long trek down," Ash said to Brock, who nodded at the guidebook. Brock was about to say something when they heard a commotion in the tower as many people were running out of the tower with injured Pokemon.
"Huh? What's going on?" Misty questioned one of the trainers.
"Some reason the Pokemon in the tower have been attacking trainers and Pokemon," one of the trainers said. The group was concerned about this as Ash let out Lampent and explained the situation to him. Lampent was now concerned.
"My dad is the guardian of the tower's bell. We need to help him before it falls to whoever is behind this," Lampent said as Ash nodded in understanding.
"If he hasn't been affected by the attacker," Ash said, worried Lampent. A Shadow was watching the group from the tower entrance and recognized Lampent but had trouble trusting the humans he was with as it disappeared just as Ash and the others arrived at the tower.
"We need to help as much as we can to save the Pokemon in there," Misty said as Brock and Ash nodded. Ash and the others arrived inside. At first, things looked quiet, but then again, this was the first floor.
"We'll probably find heavy opposition on the way to the top, so be on the lookout," Brock said as Misty and Ash nodded, as did Zorua and Ash's Pokemon. Little did they know it, but Emolga was watching this from the raptors of the first floor.
"Oh, too easy for these twerps to help others when they need it, but I'll just sit back and let them lure out my real target for this mission," Emolga snickers as she looks at Lampent, who was worried. "Nothing personal, my old friend, but I'm on a mission to return to my life, and if it means breaking my trust of our friends and you, then I won't hesitate," Emolga disappears.
Ash and the others were halfway up the stairs and heard more commotion. The group ran up the stairs and saw more trainers attacked by Elgyem, Beheeyem, and a few Litwicks.
"Lampent use Shadow ball Pikachu Thunderbolt and Servine, use Aqua Tail," Ash commanded his Pokemon as they used their attacks to hit the Pokemon. As one of the Beheeyem's sent a Shadow Ball right at Lampent.
Another shadow ball was launched at Beheeyem's Shadow ball, sending the Pokemon away for the time being as a Gengar appeared in front of Lampent. "A Gengar," Ash said as the Gengar turned to Ash and stared him down, thinking Ash had something to do with this.
"He's with me, Gengar, one of the good ones who care about Pokemon, and he can understand us as well," Lampent said to Gengar, quietly lowering his guard.
"If you say so, Lampent, but you know my past, along with most Ghost-types here, they aren't too trusting of humans," Gengar said.
"We want to help you all and stop whoever is behind this. But if you want us to leave? We can understand?" Ash said to Gengar, who shook his head.
"No, more help can be needed. Do you want to introduce me to your trainer and his friends? Or are you too busy to introduce your best friend, who has known you since you were a young Litwick?" Gengar said to Lampent, who nodded.
"This is my trainer, Ash. He's from Kanto, and he's been my trainer for half a year, and his friends who are gym leaders, Misty and Brock," Lampent said to Gengar, who nodded. "Servine here is the one who freed me from a worse trainer before the meeting; Ash and Zorua here are with us as friends and companions traveling with them," Lampent introduced Servine and Zorua.
"Nice to meet you," everyone said to Gengar, who bowed to show he was friendly.
"Everyone, this is Gengar. As mentioned earlier, he's a childhood friend of mine. His family knew me for a long time, and I have known him since he was Ghastly," Lampent said as Gengar nodded. "Don't let his attitude towards humans get to you. His family has a turbulent history with humans, and most of the Pokemon here as some either were abandoned or were passed over for capture," Lampent said. Ash translated this to Misty and Brock even though Zorua agreed.
"Is my dad not affected by whoever is doing this? When I heard that the Pokemon were controlled by someone here, you and he was the first to come to mind," Lampent asked Gengar, who nodded.
"Your dad is still in the shadows at the top protecting the bell. Lampent, you shouldn't have to worry about him. He can handle himself for a Chandelure," Gengar said to Lampent, who sighed with relief as Ash looked up the Pokemon that Gengar mentioned and could tell that he was indeed Lampent's father, who looked strong.
"Even though your dad is strong, Lampent, we should help out at least. We can't just let this place fall to whoever is behind it?" Ash asked Lampent and Gengar with a very concerned tone.
"Your trainer is the determined type, that is for sure, Lampent. OK, your dad did tell me to get help, and any help is necessary," Gengar said to Lampent, who nodded.
"Ash is the type of human that I wanted. And maybe someone you might be interested in, Gengar," Lampent said to Gengar, who looked down and sighed.
"You know me too well, Lampent, but I'll think about it," Gengar said as both Ash and Lampent nodded in understanding.
"If you don't want to join the team, that's fine. I won't force you to, and I prefer the Pokemon to join when they want than to have them forced to join the team now," Ash said to Gengar, who was taken aback as Ash was the type of trainer many Pokemon wanted to join that didn't care about their needs, but the Pokémon's needs.
The group headed closer to the top of the tower as more resistance from Pokémon under Emolga's control was getting stronger as the group tried to do as few battles as possible. And most of them were Litwick's and the previously mentioned Pokemon, which worried Lampent as they were members of his evolutionary line.
"Any of these family of your's Lampent?" Servine asked her friend Lampent who shook his head.
"Only child mom is with the elite four. Dad is the only relative I have here at this tower. I was born here," Lampent said.
"A lot of Pokemon is related to members of the Elite Four or gym leaders recently joining the team? I've noticed," Ash noted to all this as the group nodded at this realizing that there is more to these attacks than just targeting on specific mon.
"Yeah, Golett's mom is a member of my mom's team. I talked to him recently. My evolutionary line is known to be one of the strongest Ghost-types in the region," Lampent said to Ash.
"He ain't wrong there. Ash Chandelure is known for being strong in the same category that Flamethrower is known for, even near the same strength as legendaries," Zorua said to Ash, who was surprised, along with Misty and Brock.
"You know that Servine?" Ash asked Servine, who knew Lampent well. Servine crossed her arms.
"Every Pokemon know about his evolutionary line here in Unova, Ash. I didn't know that he was the son of a well-known Pokemon. Not sure if you don't notice it, Ash, but many of the Pokemon being targeted lately are familywise members of the league," Servine said as Zorua translated this.
"You know, Ash Servine has a point there? Golett's father and now his father, not to mention Cotonnee and Deerling. This seems more than just Team Rocket targeting certain areas for a Pokemon as well, not going to lie," Brock said to Ash, who nodded, as did Misty.
"Something is up, that's for sure, and as an agent of the league, I'm surprised that they haven't mentioned this yet, alone the son of Alder's advisor," Misty said to Ash, who looked down. Gengar heard this and could tell Ash had no clue that this was happening in the dark.
"I think we should move on, but I understand that you are on our side and want to help the Pokemon," Gengar told Ash and the others.
"Gengar, I appreciate hearing that, but that is what we are here well, one of the reasons, the other being the league. But that doesn't matter right now. We need to help you all no matter what," Ash said to Gengar, who smiled as the group heard laughter in the rafters, familiar laughter of Emolga's. "I guess we know who is involved with this situation. Show yourself, Emolga," Ash said out loud.
"Not going to happen, twerps. You know my situation. I'm just doing my orders and be a good twerp and let me do what I want, or I'll make it," Emolga said on the top floor before the bell.
"She's that close to the bell," Lampent said, realizing where the voice was coming from as the group was surprised that Emolga had gotten that far up already.
"Nothing personal, Lampent, but right now, you're just a stepping stone for Team Rocket's goal," Emolga said out loud. That doesn't sound like she usually would say how much power Team Rocket has put in her.
"Emolga, you know we can't do that, and we are here to stop you," Ash said as Emolga snickered and laughed.
"Hah, if it were just the normal me, I would be reasoning with you, but that ain't happening, twerps. You want to free them to come and face them," Emolga said, holding back her plans.
"It's probably a trap, Ash. We need to be on guard and remember what happened in Chargestone Cave," Brock said. Everyone nodded as they headed up the stairs and found many Beheeyem's, Litwicks, and Lampents waiting for them under Team Rocket's control.
All stared at the group angrily as if Emolga used their hatred toward humans to her advantage. Ash and the others stopped moving forward, knowing that there was no getting through to them no matter what they did.
"I warned you, and now you're proving my point to these Pokemon: you only care more about humans than them. Attack," Emolga said to them as many of the Pokemon who lived at the tower attacked the group.
"We have no choice. Lampent, use Shadow Ball," Ash commanded his Pokemon as he pulled out some Pokeballs, mainly Golett, and Drilburr, and let them out. "We need your help Drilburr uses Drill Run, and Golett uses Shadow Punch," Ash commanded the two ground types as they used the moves.
The Pokemon launched their attacks at the Pokemon, who knocked out most of them, only for more to start to attack the group. No matter what they do, there is too much, even if Misty and Brock helped, not to mention Gengar helping is not enough. All according to Emolga's plan to lure out one specific Pokemon.
A flamethrower was shot throw the raptors of the tower. A massive one, a Chandelure, appeared in front of the group. "Dad," Lampent said to the Pokemon, who was bigger than a normal one Emolga wasn't expecting something like that.
"Target acquired, now to let these mons distract them enough to get to the bell and catch my real target," Emolga thought.
"I heard the whole commotion and couldn't come any sooner, son catch," Chandelure tossed a stone to Lampent, who recognized it, happily accepted it, and evolved it as a dusk stone. Ash and the others were surprised as Lampent was a full Chandelure, and it was easy to tell who.
"Chandelure, use Flamethrower and Shadow Ball. Let's end this," Ash commanded his Pokemon as he used those moves blasting all the Pokemon and dissipating from this. "Show yourself, Emolga. We know that you have something else up your sleeve. We're ready," Ash said as a Thunderbolt was sent their way from Emolga.
"Humph, you want me. You got me, twerps," Emolga said with darkened sparks in her electric sac. Ash and the others were surprised that she would show up, given she usually runs away. "Not going to run away right now. You face what I've gone through."
Emolga sent a discharge attack right at the group. Chandelure used Flamethrower, and Gengar used Shadow ball as it hit the Discharge but only slowed it down, hitting the group for Emolga to disappear. That was her distraction.
"Don't interfere, twerps. You have no idea what we have planned, and watch your back because I'm already at the bell, my main target," Emolga said aloud.
"Not good, we need to move," Ash and the others said, only for the bell to ring as a massive shockwave was sent throughout the area.
"Leave now," Chandelure's dad said. "I'll handle her. You all shouldn't interfere and let me handle her. I can stop the spread of it," he said. Everyone was surprised by this, even his son, but they had no choice but to leave the tower.
The group and Gengar made their way out of the tower. Just as they noticed that the dark ball had consumed the tower, Emolga was under.
"We got bigger problems, guys, that bell isn't just powerful enough to ring throughout the tower but the area we need to be on guard," Zorua said.
Chandelure was worried as he hoped his father had dealt with Emolga, who happened to sneak her way back into her ball just as Misty and the others noticed.
"Ugh, she's refusing to get out her ball again. This is the second time she's done this to us," Misty said.
"And we can't just release her either. It makes us worse than Team Rocket. We know that she is only doing this to get out of their control, but it looks like there's more to what is happening to her than what she is telling us," Ash said to Misty and explained Emolga's situation to Gengar, who sighed at this.
"I understand, and there's nothing we can do about it, but I can't just stand here doing anything, if you don't mind, Ash. I want to join your team," Gengar said to Ash, who was surprised by this, as was Chandelure but nodded. "Don't release me unless I ask you to do so, and I figured you have a maxed team, so I am fine with training where you live. Chandelure informed me about what you do with Pokemon who aren't on the team, and it's a good idea," Gengar said.
"Sure, but I don't have any ghost-types on my team back home, but I do have poison types, and he can help you with battling my style," Ash said to Gengar, who nodded as Ash took out a Pokeball and tossed it at him catching him and Gengar was sent back to the lab as Ash turned to Chandelure. "You want to go with him to help train him, or are you going to stay on the team as well," Ash asked Chandelure, who shook his head.
"No, Ash, I need to be here in Unova. I feel that something is off, and I can't just leave your group for an old friend, even if he was fine with me coming back there with him," Chandelure said to Ash, who sighed and nodded in understanding.
"We need to be on guard now. We don't know how many Pokemon are now under Team Rocket's control," Ash said to Misty and the others, who nodded and took their leave.
With the tower now under Team Rocket's control? Ash and his friends are in an even worse position than before. What else does Team Rocket have planned and in store for our heroes? As the Journey continues.
Earlier, during the time that the gang was heading out of the tower.
A Dark Ball was now shown that a Pokemon was being caught. It was Chandelure's dad. "Hah, too easy he was more concerned about his son's safety that he let his guard down when he arrived at the top here," Emolga snickered as the dark ball stopped sparking, indicating that Chandelure's dad was fully caught. Emolga lets him out. "From this onwards, you will serve Team Rocket no one else and have no son either. Anyone who dares's oppose us is our enemy," Emolga ordered him, who bowed and nodded just as her communicator rang. "Reporting," Emolga said as Zoroark was on the line.
"Nicely done. I heard your report. Better than Buizel thought, take the rest of the time off; I'll handle the rest of the area, Emolga. Your last target will be much later," Zoroark said to her, who snickered and nodded.
"Good, to think I had to use my full strength there to get to the top. The tower belongs to Team Rocket now. Emolga out," Emolga said, ending the call and turning to Chandelure. "Seal off the tower. No humans can come in for as long as you are under our master's control," Emolga said to Beheeyem and Lampent, who nodded and ordered the Pokemon to do so. Emolga looked at herself.
"One more capture, and I am free from their control. Please understand that I am now doing this to avoid this situation," Emolga said. Looking at Ash and the others on the ground floor. "You will return to Team Rocket's hideout for further instruction," Emolga instructed Chandelure as the Beheeyem ran the tower.
Stay Tuned.
Done and done. Man, this chapter took forever to get done. Again, sorry about that, folks. Gengar was also requested by the same person who requested him in Johto. He told me as soon as possible, so I did. That said being said. It's off to Twist Mountain for a three-parter dealing with Zoroark and an incident with Cubchuo. If anyone remembers the situation with her, that is. See you next time.
