Greetings, everyone Mgunnels3 here, and welcome back to Ash's Unova Journey, my version. Before we begin, most of you noticed that the collab story is out now just trying to get the image management work for me cause we asked for it for that story. Aside from that, we are officially in the fourth act of the story. Prepare for a wave of chapters til the PWT arc, even though this will be the last chapter for the month until November. Let's get this chapter started, shall we?
Chapter 72: Reunions
"Human Speech"
"Pokemon Speech"
'Telepathy'
We joined our heroes as they had just landed at the Airport of Udella town. Ash and his friends Misty and Brock, as well as Pikachu, Servine, and Zorua, were ready to have some time to rest after this long Journey from the gym battles.
Skyla had turned off the fasten your seatbelt sign as it was time for the group to depart the plane. Ash noticed who was on the plane, as did Brock.
"Dawn, hey, so were you the second passenger?" Ash said to the young girl, who was indeed Dawn, as Ash and the others were heading out of the plane and caught up. On the other hand, Pikachu was on edge because he knew that his so-called ex Bunneary was with her, which Servine noticed.
"Pikachu, that wouldn't be the same girl who owns the Lopunny who almost made you her permanently with Attract and Cute charm?" Servine asked Pikachu, who nodded, to which Servine sighed. "Of all trouble that is going to be showing up, especially with you and me starting to get back in love, why does this happen now," Servine said to Pikachu, who sighed.
"Servine, if you see me acting strange, not like concerned strange, stop me before I do something worse than what Emolga did to me," Pikachu said to Servine, who glared and nodded. Knowing what Pikachu meant by that, he knew he wouldn't try to put their relationship on thin ice again.
"Knowing Lopunny, she won't let it go. She's always like that, it happened with a Phionie back in Sinnoh, and she might try to make me her girlfriend again," Pikachu said to Servine, who nodded as the group got off the plane and arrived in Udella town.
"Ah, Udella Town, it's been a long time since the last time I've been here, almost seven years," Ash said as his friends got off with Ash Dawn was happy to be with Ash and his friends. "We can catch up when we get to my family's villa, which is not far from the Airport," Ash said to Dawn, who nodded.
"Well, I'm heading to the stadium to check in and will be spending time visiting the town, so take care of you all," Skyla said, and Ash and the others thanked her as they took their leave.
Ash and the others were looking around as this was the first time Misty, Brock, Dawn, Pikachu, Servine, and Zorua had been there. This town was known for being a popular tourist spot, and those who owned housing here were either working or high class in terms of money unless they had ties to someone higher up. Ash noticed a familiar face over at the Ice cream stand.
"Is that," Ash said as he walked over to see a familiar Sinnoh champion deciding what to pick before picking. "Cynthia, you're here as well?" Ash said to the young champion, who turned to see Ash and the others.
"Ah, Ash, Brock, and Dawn, it's been a while since the Sinnoh league, so you are here in Unova as well, it seems," Cynthia said to Ash and the others, who happily greeted her as Ash explained what they were doing in Udella town and introduced Misty to her. "Pleasure to meet you, and I see that you four are participating in the PWT as well?" Cynthia said to the group, who were surprised by this.
"You are as well," Dawn said, which Cynthia nodded as she motioned to the car to take them to the villa next to Ash.
"So you are the owner of the villa next to mine. I never thought that your family was rich, Ash, as it's just as big as my vila," Cynthia said to Ash, who shook his head.
"My dad is Alder's advisor and was given that during our stay here in Unova, so we can stay there as long as my dad is with the league," Ash explained, to which Cynthia nodded, knowing who Ash was referring.
"As for your question, Dawn, I'm not competing. I've been asked to participate in an Exhibition match against a member of the Elite Four here in Unova who was a member of the Battle Frontier in Sinnoh," Cynthia said to Ash and others, who were surprised by understanding. "Since Alder is champion, he's given the honor of being the prize for the tournament winner, a chance to battle him one-on-one," Cynthia said to Ash.
"So that's what this tournament is about, but if that is the case, I'm not sure if Brock and I could take part in it, given that we aren't from Unova or taking part in the league?" Misty said to Cynthia, which Ash interrupted.
"There's a reason it's called the Pokemon "World" Tournament, Misty. It's not local to the region; anyone can participate, but most are invited," Ash said to Misty.
"Ash is right, Misty, and I hear that members of the elite six gym leaders will be at the Tournament well, the rest of them," Cynthia said to Misty, who was taken aback.
"No one informed me about that, given that I am a member of that," Misty said, and Cynthia chuckled at this.
"Well, you are here so that it won't matter," Cynthia said to her as Ash was now ready to face off against a few members he had previously faced.
The limo arrived at the villa. There was another villa next to it.
"The one on the left is my family's villa, and we have permission to visit there as long as we don't trash the place," Ash said to the others, who nodded. Cynthia went to her vila, and Ash and the others went to his. Boy was the vila big it wasn't a vila. It was a mansion.
"Cynthia wasn't kidding when she said your family must be rich, Ash. This place is huge," Pikachu said to Ash, who nodded.
"We don't have butlers or maids or anything. So we are on our own in that department, but it's good to see that this place is kept clean and has no issues," Ash said as he felt nostalgia from being in this place again, there were plenty of rooms for multiple guests and a combined view from the beach next to Cynthia's vila. Ash and the others settled in as Dawn caught up with Ash and Brock.
"So, how have things been since our last encounter at Pallet Town, Dawn," Ash said, trying not to bring up the incident between Pikachu and Lopunny. Piplup and Dawn noticed that from the way Ash was talking.
"Well, we've managed to make it through another contest in Johto and made it to the top four before losing to Ursula 'cause I got careless," Dawn said to Ash, who was surprised.
"Taken that she's gotten stronger since the last time you two faced each other in a contest battle," Brock said to Dawn, who nodded.
"Yeah, but we weren't the only ones participating in that contest battle as we saw May again. She was taking part in the contest again. Let's say she faced Ursula in the finals and won," Dawn said.
"Oh man, that would've been a good rematch between you two if you made it to the finals, given that Zoe is a contest grandmaster and all," Ash said to Dawn, who nodded.
"Yeah, and right now, I'm taking some time off before heading to Kanto for the contests," Dawn said to Ash. "I've heard about what has been happening here in Unova with Team Rocket. Hopefully, you can get things under control," Dawn said to Ash, who sighed at this.
"We have a former member of their collection of Pokemon on Misty's team now, and we haven't had run-ins with them since Twist Mountain, sadly, but knowing them, they have something planned," Ash said. Dawn was about to say something only to see that someone or something was pulling Ash's face. "Hey, stop it," Ash said before turning around to see something reappearing a reddish-white colored dragon, a familiar one.
"Surprise, Ash," The Pokemon said as Ash fell back, and she giggled at this.
"Latias!" The group said to her, who smiled as Ash got up from the fall shortly after her introduction. Latias was introduced to Dawn, who happily accepted meeting Dawn as she was a good friend.
"I thought that was you when we saw you flying invisible on the plane. What brings you here, Latias? You are far from Altomare?" Ash said. Latias smiled and nodded. "Does Bianca and Lorenzo know that you left? I mean, what if?" Ash was interrupted by Latias.
'Oh, they know, you see. Lately, I've been training under other members of my Latias and Latios family in Hoenn,' Latias said to Ash, who was surprised by this. 'What do you think that it's just my brother, the only family member, and me? Many of them are in Hoenn, and I was visiting here because I heard something had happened near my old friend's house and found out he was heading this way,' Latias said.
"You mean Druddigon? He's on my team. He mentioned that he's an old friend of your family, so you heard what happened with Team Rocket over here, but I have taken that this isn't the only reason you are here, Latias, upon seeing us?" Ash asked Latias, who nodded and looked down.
'The other reason I went on that training is that I want to get stronger,' Latias said. Given that they were there, Ash, Misty, and Brock knew what she would say next. 'The truth is after my brother passed, I couldn't help but feel like I could've done something to fight against those two, and then I heard that a family member was taken by that same group recently, so I decided to find someone I can trust to help me,' Latias said which Ash knew where this was coming.
"You want to join my team, Latias? You okay with that?" Ash asked Latias, who nodded. Ash couldn't say no and knew that at this point, having a legendary like on his team wasn't beyond impossible for him to raise and train. "I have taken that you have your conditions for joining my team," Ash asked everyone except Latias was surprised that Ash would agree to her demand.
'You've had some Pokemon making those demands before, Ash?' Latias said in telepathy, to which Ash nodded. 'Well, I want some good battles, given that I am legendary,' Latias said. Ash nodded, but Latias continued.
'However, I am not going to face just any trainer; only one's that I can tell worth my time, or if Team Rocket forces my claw and I have to battle with you, Ash. Also, no usage in the league at the moment. I want to make the trainers have a fair battle,' Latias said, waving her claw-like she wasn't interested in some random trainer.
"Deal, you are essential, and I figured you want the best. Since we are participating in a big tournament, many of the best trainers in the world will be there. There might be a trainer or two that might interest you?" Ash said to Latias, who smiled and nodded. "Before I catch you, I better let my mom and Professor Oak know that I am here in Udella town and that you are joining the team," Ash said to Latias.
'It's fine, Ash. I'm in no rush, and to be fair, I just got here just a few hours ago and could use some rest anyway,' Latias said to Ash, showing that she wasn't in any hurry as Ash nodded and made his way to the video phone in the house and made some phone calls. First was his mom, telling her he was staying at the family's villa.
"I'm unsurprised that your father would ask you to stay there during your visit. You're a grown man now, Ash, and Happy Birthday, as today is your Birthday after all," Delia said to Ash, who was taken aback by this. "Ash, you didn't forget, did you?"
"No, I thought it was in a couple of weeks, not today, but I appreciate you reminding me, Mom. I might be sixteen, but that doesn't mean you can't still remind me of stuff," Ash said to Delia, who smiled and nodded. "And one more thing more, it's about Dad and what he asked of me," Ash said to his mom, who was curious.
After Ash explained his father's offer to live in the villa instead of heading back home, she nodded in understanding. "Your father called me and told me about that a few weeks ago. I thought he would ask you first before coming to me," Delia said to Ash, who was surprised by this. "But alas, he still wants to confirm with me before coming to you. What do you think?" Delia asked Ash as Ash looked down and thought about it.
"I don't know. I am old enough to live independently; this is our family's house here in Unova. But to leave Kanto to live here is a tall order," Ash said. "But sooner or later, I'm going to have to find a new home, and as long as Dad is over here, this can be my place," Ash said to his mother, who nodded.
"Ash, we barely use it aside from our family vacations and haven't been there in a long time. I think owning and living there is a good idea, but that is your decision, not ours," Delia said. Ash looked down and nodded.
"Thanks, Mom, and I might, but I will think about it when my Journey is finished here in Unova. But the answer may be yes, but I will let my dad know the next time I see him," Ash said as he said his goodbyes to his mother and sighed.
"How could I get the dates wrong about my Birthday? Now I'm deciding to live in a place I've been to for almost my entire childhood. Go figure that is what my life leads to," Ash said. Before smiling, and thought that it would be good to call Professor Oak. "Hello, Professor, it's me, Ash," Ash said to Professor Oak, who smiled and answered the call.
"Ah, Ash, my boy hasn't spoken to you long. I've heard that your mission in Unova with Shamus is done from the league," Professor Oak said to Ash, who nodded. "So what is it you want to talk to me about? I heard about your Birthday being today as well," Oak asked Ash. Ash explained to Professor Oak that he was at his family's villa and would stay there for a while, and the Professor nodded.
"I see. Good timing as well. If I remember correctly, there is a place to store your Pokeballs, and I'm sending your Unova Pokemon back to you minus Volcarona, as he's spending time with his mother and sister," Oak said to Ash, who was surprised by this.
"Professor, I wouldn't mind that but what about the other Pokemon I've also caught? I'm sure they would love to be out here," Ash said to Professor, who nodded.
"Way ahead of you there, young man. Starraptor and Unfezant want to come out, as well as Garchomp and Charizard. As for the rest, sadly, I will send over time as most of them are getting used to living at the ranch," Oak said to Ash, who nodded. Ash mentioned Latias and her offer to join the team, to which Professor Oak smiled.
"Ash, you are in the right direction, and it's not uncommon for someone of your talent to own a legendary, especially one of her caliber. At least it isn't something like, say, Groundon or that sort, and that is a fair request from her, " Oak said to Ash, who nodded. "As for any Pokemon sent to me is turned off, but you are still limited to the 6v6 rules. Just have to grab what you are bringing from your selection here at the villa," Oak said, to which Ash nodded.
"Thank you, Professor, and I will try my best as a trainer and keep in contact as soon as something comes up," Ash said to Oak, who nodded and ended the call as many of Ash's Pokeballs were sent to the villa and the storage area as each one was let out.
"Well, everyone, we are on vacation until a big tournament, so enjoy your time and don't bother the locals. Please, remember you are representing me after all," Ash said to each of his Pokemon. The latter nodded and went out of their way to spend time in the area. Ash sighed at this and headed his way back to the living room of the villa as Latias was catching up with Druddigon and Misty, and Brock Ash smiled at this. And to the seat beside Misty.
"Good to see you again, Latias, and I appreciate you are coming to see if I was okay," Druddigon said to Latias, who snickered and nodded.
"She's also going to join the team Druddigon as she just asked me before the rest of the Pokemon was sent here to Unova," Ash said to Druddigon, who was surprised by this.
"Yep, I'm joining the team with some conditions. Given that, you know my family and what I am, you can understand why I am picky about who I am facing," Latias said to Druddigon, who sighed and nodded. Ash pulled out a Pokeball as Latias was ready to be caught, and Ash tapped her with it, and she was caught without a struggle as Ash let her out.
"So, how does that feel, Latias?" Ash asked her, who shook her head.
'I don't know what is so special about being captured by humans, my family is training to be a part of human trainers teams, but that wasn't worth the hassle of being caught,' Latias said.
"You don't have to be in your ball unless we are battling or you are about to be used in a match, and I'm sure that you will use your human form or invisible to be around trainers," Ash said. Latias nodded. Latias was about to say something, but there was a knock on the door. Ash went to answer it as it was Cynthia.
"Hey, came to check on you as I noticed that many Pokemon were coming out of the villa," Cynthia asked Ash, who nodded and explained what just happened with Professor Oak, who nodded in understanding about Latias joining the team. "Ah, I see. Having at least one or two on your team isn't bad; it reminds me of Tobias and how he has a Latios," Cynthia said, which Latias sighed.
'You mean the man who has my cousin miss champion,' Latias said to Cynthia, who was surprised as well as Ash. 'I saw that battle and knew who the Latios was. We ran into each other during my training in Hoenn. He's from my dad's side of the family and hoping to face him one day,' Latias said to Ash which made Cynthia smile which everyone noticed.
"Well, luck will have it. He will be participating in the PWT as well. Just before his battle against the Elite four, Tobias told me that he is saving his legendaries for trainers that are worth it as he felt like he wasn't giving a fair battle at the league," Cynthia said to Latias, who smiled at this. "Tobias isn't the only one who has a Latios either. Alder's grandson Benga also has one, but that is his only legendary. He will also be participating in the PWT, and Paul will be taking part in the tournament," Cynthia said to Ash, surprised but remaining calm.
"I'm sorry to interrupt but isn't Tobias the one who beat Ash at the league and had a Darkrai as well," Misty asked Cynthia, who nodded. "Well, that isn't fair, and given that this is the second time we've seen him, you think that he will even keep his promise to use non-legendaries?" Misty asked.
"Tobias is a man of his word, and while he may be mysterious, he isn't going against his word to try to give a fair fight," Cynthia said. "And I think this would be a good battle against him since the league was the last time you two saw each other, Ash?" Cynthia said to Misty and Ash, who looked down but not with a worried look which everyone noticed.
"Is something wrong, Ash?" Brock asked Ash, who sat down and sighed.
"The league wasn't the only time he and I faced each other after the league," Ash said to everyone, surprised. "Cynthia is right. He is willing to use other Pokemon, and we battle a week before my battle against Damien," Ash said.
"Ash, if you don't mind me asking, how did that battle go against Tobias and Damien?" Misty asked Ash, who looked at her.
"Yeah, Ash, you've been talking about how tough your battle against this Damien person, and this Tobias guy sounds terrifying as a trainer," Zorua said to Ash, who sighed.
"Okay, I'll tell you both battles first against Tobias because it is most recently asked, but this was less brutal than Damiens battle," Ash said to everyone.
With a new capture and everyone settled in, Ash counts his tale of woe about what he has been doing five months after his Journey in Sinnoh ended. What happened during those five months for Ash? As the Journey continues.
To Be Continued.
Done and done, man. This chapter took a while, but we are starting in the fourth act. First, Tobias, yes, I'm sure many of you are wondering what I am doing putting him in the story, or wow, I'm not going to read this story. Well, I had planned on him being a part of this story around this point, and I have plans for him team-wise that isn't just legendaries. Speaking of legendaries, Latias. She was requested long ago, and I finally got to her capture. How are you okay with her request for capture wise? We're on a month break, and when we return in November, we will see what Ash has been doing in those four months, starting with a rematch between Ash and Tobias. See you next time.
