Greetings, Mgunnels3 here, and welcome back to Ash's Unova Journey My Version. Now that the first arc of my collab story is over, I can focus on these stories until my collab writer returns from vacation. I have a few plans, and I hope this story gets more reviews. I don't like being a beggar, but it's hard to write these stories without them, and I said it before and repeated it. I take feedback from everyone, and this story gets more on Deviantart. Oh well, I don't plan on stopping writing this story and seeing it to the end. Let's get part one of the first round going, shall we?
Chapter 82: The PWT First rounds
"Human Speech"
"Pokemon Speech"
"Now, for the first round of the PWT Tournament, these two battled in the Battle Club six months ago; many trainers participated in that tournament. Now, will our two trainers come on out," the announcer said as Ash and Bianca came out of the entryway.
"First from Nuema Town, a female who shows that she may be ditzy but has proven that she's better than that; give it up for Bianca," the announcer said as Bianca arrived in the trainer's box as Latias was watching this from atop of the balcony seeing someone who has a similar name to one of her friends and was told Bianca has some good premise so far.
"Now, for her opponent, he tied in the battle club and has a goal of becoming a Pokemon Master, and is one of the few trainers to beat most of our special guests, as well as made it far in the Sinnoh League, from Pallet Town give it up for Ash Ketchem," the announcer said as Ash made it to the trainer's box.
"What do you think, Latias? She looks tough even though she's Ash's opponent, and we heard she's been through a lot lately," Dragonite said to Latias, who nodded.
"Ash will win, that's for sure, but I agree that she's been through enough, yet she's battling Ash in the tournament's first match. I do feel bad for her," Latias said to Dragonite. "You do know that is the name of my childhood best friend, right?" Latias said to Dragonite, who nodded.
"One of the few humans that I respect. Then again, it's been years since I last saw her and Lorenzo, but let's continue to watch this match," Dragonite said to Latias, who nodded. Little did Latias know it, but someone noticed her in her human form not far from the two of them.
"Now, will both trainers let out their Pokemon as this 3v3 battle commences," the ref announced to the group as Ash and Bianca pulled out a Pokeball?
"Cincinno, come on out," Bianca sent out her first Pokemon, who was ready to battle. Ash smiled upon seeing how much stronger it's gotten since he last saw Cincinno.
"Eeletrik, come on out," Ash sent out his first Pokemon. The two Pokemon stared each other down as they were shown on the screen beside their trainers.
"Hey, Ash, don't think this battle will be easy against me; I will show you how far I've grown since we last fought. Cincinno uses Focus Blast," Bianca commanded her Pokemon, who fired the attack.
"Coil and then use Thunderbolt," Ash commanded his Pokemon, who coiled up and then used Thunderbolt at the Focus Blast, destroying it. "Now, Acrobatics and Thrash," Ash commanded his Pokemon, who charged in at the Normal Type.
"Tail Slap and Aqua Tail counter it, Cincinno," Bianca commanded him, who slammed its tails right into the two attacks as the two Pokemon were sent to their trainers exhausted. "Giga Impact," Bianca commanded her Pokemon, who charged at Eeletrik.
"Wild Charge and Acrobatics," Ash commanded his Pokemon as the two Pokemon charged and clashed, knocking each other out. Both Ash and Bianca were surprised by this.
"Both trainer's Pokemon are unable to battle," the ref announced as Ash and Bianca returned their Pokemon to their balls.
"Swanna, come on out," Bianca sent out her next Pokemon. Ash remembers that she owned a Ducklett when he last saw her and pulled out a Pokeball.
"Well, let's see how all that training works so far since the time off for vacation; Mandabuzz, come on out," Ash sent out his next Pokemon who was his Vullaby, whom he caught back at Driftville Bridge who had been training with Ash's flyers since then. "You ready to fight?" Ash asked, who nodded.
"You bet, Ash, let's get this battle going, shall we?" Mandabuzz said to Ash, who turned to the Swanna, who was ready to fight.
"Swanna, use Ice Beam," Bianca commanded her Pokemon, who fired the attack at the Dark/Flying type.
"Dodge it and then use Retaliate," Ash commanded her, who charged in at Swanna, dodging the ice attack.
"Counter it with Brave Bird," Bianca commanded her Pokemon, who charged at each other and slammed right into each other a few times while damaging each other in more ways than one.
"Dark Pulse Mandabuzz," Ash commanded her, who fired the attack on Swanna, hitting it mid-Brave Bird. "End this with Payback," Ash commanded her, who slammed her body right into Swanna, knocking it out.
"Swanna is unable to battle Mandabuzz wins. The score is 2-1, Ash," the ref announced as Bianca returned her Pokemon to its ball. Ash petted Mandabuzz while praising her, who was enjoying it as Bianca was showing how far she had matured since their last battle.
"Ash, no matter who wins today, you battled well, but I'm not going to let this battle go down without a fight," Bianca said to Ash, who nodded as she pulled out her Pokeball. "Emboar, come on out," Bianca sent out her last Pokemon, who was ready to battle.
"You going to be okay battling even after that, girl?" Ash asked Mandabuzz, who nodded and took up in the sky. "Okay, use Brave Bird," Ash commanded her, who charged in at Emboar quickly. Bianca smirked, as did Emboar, which Ash noticed. "Uh-oh."
"Grab it and then use Heat Crash and Heavy Slam," Bianca commanded her Pokemon, who grabbed Mandabuzz mid-flight and slammed her right into the ground, knocking her out.
"Mandabuzz is unable to battle Emboar and wins the match. It is tied with both sides having one Pokemon each," the ref announced as Ash returned Mandabuzz to its ball as Ash pulled out the next Pokeball.
"Well, it's time for your first battle since you evolved. Let's see how far you've come. Let's go, Espeon," Ash sent out his last Pokemon, who was ready to fight and stared at the Emboar, confident and not scared of the tall Pokemon standing in front of her, given she's been around Ash's Pokemon. "Use Shadow Ball Espeon," Ash commanded her, who fired the attack at Emboar, which was fast to the point that it couldn't respond.
"Use, Knock Off attack and Earthquake," Bianca commanded her Pokemon, who slammed its fists into Espeon, sending her back as the Fire/Fighting type was about to use Earthquake.
"Jump, and then use Psychic," Ash commanded her, who barely jumped out of the way and landed a Psychic attack on Emboar, who took it and broke free from it. "Iron Tail, now," Ash commanded her, who used its tail to slam right into the Pokemon.
"Heat Crash now," Bianca commanded her Pokemon, who slammed its body right into Espeon, sending her back hard as both Pokemon were panting heavily. "Now end this with Heat Crash," Bianca commanded her Pokemon.
"Psybeam and Shadow ball, let's go, Espeon," Ash commanded her, who fired the attack at the charging Emboar and landed the attack square on, only for it to reach Espeon and hit her as she was sent back to Ash.
Espeon and Emboar stared at each other as both didn't have the energy to continue but wouldn't want to go down for their trainers. Sadly, one did fall. It was Emboar as Ash and Bianca were surprised.
"Emboar is unable to battle Espeon wins; moving on to the next part of the tournament is Ash Ketchem from Pallet Town," the ref announced as Ash sighed. Espeon ran over to Ash, nuzzling him as he petted her, who gave a purr.
"You did great out there, girl, and nicely done for your first official battle since you evolved," Ash said as she nodded.
"Tough battle, but she gave me a good battle, that's for sure. I wished I battled sooner," Espeon said to Ash, who chuckled as Bianca and Emboar walked over to Ash.
"Well, Ash, that makes another battle you won against me, but I won't let this loss get to me," Bianca said to Ash, who nodded.
"Yeah, your team has grown a lot since the battle against Elisa, that's for sure, but hey, there's the league, and I won't expect nothing but greatness from you there," Ash said to Bianca, who nodded as the two gave a handshake as the two left as the next battle will begin really shortly as Latias and Dragonite were watching this and smiled.
"Not bad, young lady. She battled well, better than I thought she would," Dragonite said, crossing his arms as Latias nodded in agreement. "Maybe we were wrong about Ash's rivals. They might be worth our time. What do you say?"
"We'll see, Dragonite. Bianca, there was a good battle that I do agree with, but you know how I am, and we'll see how the others are going to impress me during the first rounds as it's only the beginning, but I do agree with Ash, she has grown from what we were told, and I helped with Espeon with her Psychic capabilities being part one myself" Latias said to Dragonite crossing her claws as she sensed someone was watching her. "I know you are watching me back there. Come on out."
"Seems like your sense of sight has grown the last time we last saw each other, and here I thought you were a trainer here for a second, Latias," A male human said, calling out to Latias and seeing through her human disguise.
"First, she's a trained Pokemon, and two, how did you know she was in disguise, and who are you?" Dragonite said, ready to attack him, only for Latias to hold out her arm. As he looked at her, she shook her head.
"You can calm down, Dragonite; he's someone I know well; after all, his trainer and his son are taking part in this tournament, isn't that right, uncle," Latias said to the man, who chuckled as Dragonite was surprised by this as he dropped his disguise revealing that he was a Latios a much older one, but not enough to be elderly.
"So I take that the boy who won that match is both your trainers, huh? You picked a trainer well," Latios said as he returned to his human disguise and turned around. "I'm looking forward to seeing how the trainer who beaten both my trainer and my son's trainer does well in this tournament and to see how well you are doing since the last we talked; see you around, my little niece," Latios said as he walked off as Latias sighed at this as she saw Ash walking by as he saw the latter part of what just happened.
"What just happened? Was that a Latios I just saw? What's going on, Latias? I heard him call you niece?" Ash asked Latias, who sighed as Dragonite was curious about what was happening.
"As you know, Latios and Latias are often paired as brother and sister. That was my mom's brother and my teacher when I was in Hoenn," Latias said to Ash and Dragonite, who was surprised by this.
"You mentioned that he has a trainer, and his son has one that is participating in this tournament. Do you know who they are?" Dragonite asked Latias, who nodded.
"Anabel is his trainer who's been on her team after you beat her. As for his son, you know who he belongs to, given you faced him twice," Latias said as Ash got the picture of who it was and nodded.
"Tobias, his Latios is your cousin you told me about when you joined the team. Latias, you weren't expecting both to show up, or you were expecting at least one of them?" Ash asked Latias, who shrugged as Ash was curious.
"I'm his student, Ash, and he's really good. I barely have battled my Uncle at times, but to answer your question, I'm not sure I was expecting my cousin, that's all, but no worries, let's not let this get to us and watch the tournament as Misty's match is coming up soon," Latias said to Ash as she rather not talk about it but rather let Ash see her Uncle for himself.
Ash sighed and nodded as the subsequent battles of the tournament were still going on 's match was indeed coming up, and she was up against Burgandy next, from how the tournament bracket showed. He made his way to his seat where Brock and the others were.
"Nicely done out there, Ash. You battled well," Max said to Ash, who nodded. "I really can't wait to take part in the tournament. My team is itching for battle after taking that time off, and hopefully, I get to face you at some point, Ash," Max said to Ash, who nodded as they turned to the battlefield as the announcer announced both Misty and Burgandy as both trainers were ready to fight and pulled out their Pokeballs.
"Sawbucks, come on out," Burgandy sent out her first Pokemon as the Deer Pokemon was out and ready to fight.
"Swanna, come on out," Misty sent out her first Pokemon, her Ducklett, who had evolved during the time off and was ready to fight against his opponent.
"Swanna vs. Sawbucks let this battle begin," the ref announced.
"Use Sunny Day and then Solar Beam," Burgandy commanded her Pokemon, who used the two moves and fired the attack at the Water/Flying type.
"Dodge it, and then use Hurricane," Misty commanded her Pokemon, who used the attack at Sawbucks.
"Wild Charge now," Burgandy commanded her Pokemon, who charged in at Swanna while the Hurricane was destroyed and slammed right into the Swan Pokemon, who recovered fast.
"Ice Beam and Water Pulse Swanna," Misty commanded her Pokemon, who fired the attack at Sawbucks, who got hit by it while recovering from the aftereffects of the Wild Charge attack. "Now, Aerial Ace," Misty commanded her Pokemon, who quickly charged at Sawbucks with the flying-type attack.
"Counter with Horn Leech Sawbucks," Burgandy commanded her Pokemon, who charged at the Aerial Ace. As the two moves clashed, it sent both Pokemon backward, though the Horn Leech recovered some of the damage from the clash.
Everyone is at the edge, and this was only a few battles into the tournament, as Burgandy can see why Misty is known to be one of the strongest gym leaders in her region. Burgandy has grown as a trainer, not just through her actions, given she lost against Cillian at the Battle Club, but Misty isn't backing down.
"Wild Charge, now Sawbuck as well as Horn Leech," Burgandy commanded her Pokemon, who charged in at Swanna, wanting to end this part of the battle.
"Mirror Move and Aerial Ace," Misty commanded her Pokemon, who mimicked the two attacks and charged in at Sawbucks. The two Pokemon slammed into each other, causing an explosion. Swanna got out of there while taking damage from the recoil attack of Wild Charge as Sawbucks was knocked out.
"Sawbucks is unable to battle Swanna wins," the ref announced as Burgandy returned her Pokemon to its ball while Swanna, while tired, was still willing to battle.
"I will say, Misty, you've raised that Swanna well, even without evaluating him. I can see why you have grown with him after a short while he's been on your team," Burgandy said to Misty, who nodded, showing respect to Burgandy.
"Thanks. I worked hard to get in sync with him during my time off and my journey, but you've come a long way since we last saw you," Misty said to Burgandy, who smiled at the compliment from Misty as she pulled out her next Pokeball.
"Samurott, come on out," Burgandy sent out her starter Pokemon next as Misty was sure she would save it for last but knew she had something for her team.
"Swanna, you gonna be okay to continue?" Misty asked him, who turned to her and nodded.
"Don't worry about me, Misty; I trust your judgment in this battle. She is definitely up to something. I think Retaliate is coming up, so watch out," Swanna said to Misty, who nodded.
"Okay, use Hurricane," Misty commanded her Pokemon, who was using the move at a distance, knowing that she would use that move at some point.
"Retaliate and Razor Shell," Burgandy commanded her Pokemon, who slammed right into the flying-type attack and slammed its shell into Swanna. The attack was too much, and Swanna was knocked out.
"Swanna is unable to battle Samurott and wins," the ref announced as Misty returned her Pokemon to his ball, praised him for a good battle, and pulled out a Pokeball as everyone awaited what Misty had next.
"Kingdra, come on out," Misty sent out her next Pokemon, who was ready to battle as Misty knew she had a big uphill battle against Burgandy with her starter Pokemon. "Kingdra, use Dragons Dance and Dragon Pulse," Misty commanded her Pokemon, who charged up speed-wise and fired the Dragon-type attack as it landed before Samurott could get out of the way.
"Night Slash and Aqua Jet," Burgady commanded her Pokemon, who charged in at Kingdra with her body covered in water, and her schalchop glowed dark at Kingdra.
"Hydro Pump now, Kingdra," Misty commanded her Pokemon, who blasted water at Samurott, who was charging in at Kingdra as Misty groaned. "Use Giga Impact," Misty commanded her Pokemon, who charged in at Samurott, who clashed with each other as the two were sent to the ground and knocked out.
"Both Pokemon are unable to battle; the match is tied with one Pokemon left," the ref announced as Misty and Burgandy returned their Pokemon to their balls.
"Gyarados, come on out," Misty sent out her last Pokemon, who was ready to go and battle as Burgandy smirked and pulled out her last Pokemon.
"Eelektross, come on out," Burgandy sent out her last Pokemon, who was raring to go as Burgandy thinks that this will be an easy win against Misty, minus how Misty put her to the test as a trainer during the whole battle, though Misty and Gyarados wasn't phased by this, but Burgandy stands firm. "Thunderbolt now, Elektross," Burgandy commanded her Pokemon, who fired an electric attack at the Water/Flying type.
"Flamethrower, Gyarados, now and then use Dragon Rush," Misty commanded her Pokemon, who fired the Flamethrower at the Thunderbolt, which caused an explosion, and then Gyarados went straight towards the Eel Pokemon with a Dragon Rush.
"Wild Charge now and Coil," Burgandy commanded her Pokemon, who charged in at Gyarados with the electric attack minus feeling a bit of a flinch from the Dragon Rush attack.
Misty knew Earthquake wouldn't work against this Pokemon, so she changed her strategy as the two Pokemon clashed, damaging each other, whether actual or recoil damage.
"Flamethrower now," Misty and Burgandy commanded their Pokemon, who fired their attack at each other as the attacks clashed, only for Gyarados to overpower the electric type with its experience and how long it knew that attack.
"Burgandy, I can see how far you've grown since you barely did much damage against Cillian in the battle club, but today, I'm going to win this match," Misty thought as she clenched her fist. "End this with Giga Impact and Dragon Rush," Misty commanded her Pokemon, who charged in at Eelektross as Burgandy tried to command her Pokemon, only for it to not move the cause of the drawback of Dragons Rush and slam into the Pokemon, knocking it out.
"Eelektross is unable to battle; Gyarados wins. Moving on to the next round is Misty from Cerulean City," the referee announced as Misty sighed. roared in victory. Misty smiled at this as she saw Burgandy return her Pokemon to its ball.
"You'll get there one day as a trainer, Burgandy. You are putting aside your job to be a trainer that I'll give you, just remember that your Pokemon are doing their best," Misty said to Burgandy who heard this and nodded as Misty turned to walk towards the stands as many members of the Elite 6 gym leaders where watching what she said and all that namely: Drayden, Pryce, and Wallace who are the oldest members of the group.
"She's grown a lot more since I faced her in battle. To think she was originally ranked 3 among our group, but she showed it today," Wallace said to the two, who glared at him and chuckled. "Kidding, how will you two handle it if she faces you two in battle?"
"I think that's enough, Wallace. You battled her without telling us, and in my opinion, she is still your rank, but here, we are at a reset, and I hope you are all ready, not just her, for changing of ranks when that day comes, though one of us might not be that for much longer," Drayden said to Wallace as he was referring to Pyrce who nodded as he was indeed nearing his retirement soon.
"I still owe her group for helping me find my Mamoswine, and I think she has earned our respect right now. That girl might be the one who might beat you one day, Drayden, given how you and I have swapped ranks multiple times," Pryce said to Drayden, who rubbed his beard and watched as Misty made her way to the stands.
"We'll see. She is still not mine or your power level, but she is getting there. That is all we can say. Soon, each one of us will be facing each other during the tournament, and it will be the real test," Drayden said as the camera pans to each of the other members who were either in the audience or waiting for their matches for this part of the tournament.
With the PWT fully underway, Misty and Ash made their way to the next round, as the rest of Ash's friends/rivals were now waiting for their turn to move up in the tournament. What else is in store for them as the PWT continues.
Stay Tuned.
Done and done. Sorry, it took a while for this chapter to come out to those reading this story. I've been busy lately, not just cause of stories but work in general. Some parts in this chapter, like with Anabel and Latios and all that, are something that I've come up with. With that said, I am still taking battle requests cause this is going to be a long one aside from the obvious battle that this story lead up to. The next chapter is the next round of the PWT for the group as I have a few things for this tournament coming up.
