The Academy is weird. On the first day, the teacher walked in, took one look at his class, and walked right back out. Is that normal? Whatever. Naruto's only a week in and he's already bored out of his mind. Fuzzy's rants are way more interesting than this stuff. They're not even talking about anything cool, just a bunch of reading and math classes!
Clearly, this isn't worth Naruto's time. He uses the Academy as naptime.

"The math and reading are useful enough, but a lot of their ancient history classes are ridiculously inaccurate. Even worse, whenever they get into chakra theory it's way too surface-level and closed-minded. It's no wonder those pathetic three jutsu are on the graduation test, it'd be a miracle if they even make it there at this rate!"
See, even Naruto sees how useless these classes are! He's sleeping through all of them!
"Although, you should be paying attention to the reading classes. I'd also rather have you learn math so I don't have to budget for you. It's probably better anyway if you actually learn how to do math so you don't have to wait until the next day to have the answers. And I can tell you the more accurate ancient history, and you will almost certainly be expected to remember these lectures... "
Kurama was just maybe still a bit miffed at his nickname.

Naruto didn't know what he did to deserve this torture, but he's very sorry! Please bring back the cool jutsus and pranking advice!
Sasuke's just impressed that Naruto's somehow learning something, and the teachers don't know how in the world Naruto's doing well if he's constantly sleeping through class. The fox summons laughed at his misfortune and bombard him with even more boring lectures just because it's funny.
