-Kurama-

"Hey, Fuzzy, what's something nice we can do?"
"That's way too vague a question, brat. Who do you wanna do something nice for and why?"
Naruto shifted uneasily, radiating discomfort. Whatever this was, it was too much to deal with before lunch. They sat for a minute before Naruto finally spat it out.
"Um, I wanna be nice to... the world, I guess? I dunno, we kinda just do a bunch of crazy stuff but we don't really do a lot of good stuff, you know?"
Ah, the pointless desire to leave a positive impact on the world. So much for a fun time. Kurama's gonna nap for the rest of this goody-two-shoes' life.
"Hey! Fuzzy! You big jerk! I'm gonna scream as much as I need to until you listen! I'll drown you in ramen for the rest of my life if I have to!"
"Shut it, brat. And we already provide this village with a valuable commodity."
Naruto looked skeptical.
"What?"
"Entertainment. Obviously."
Naruto stared in judgmental silence for a minute.
"You suck."
Kurama cackled. Finally, the brat gets the point!
"Hey, I do what I want and I don't care who gets mad. That's the funnest way to live."
"Then I want to do something nice!"
Brat.
"Fine. Start a school or something. You're rich enough and there are plenty of underprivileged people out there."
"A school?"
Kurama grinned.
"Sure. I'll even help you write textbooks!"

-Kakashi-

Kakashi beat Naruto for the third spar in a row. This was nothing unusual. After all, Kakashi was asked to be a taijutsu teacher, and thus stuck strictly to taijutsu in the spars and asked that Naruto do the same. Naruto was learning (quite quickly, actually) to use a rather effective patchwork style of taijutsu, even if he never won against Kakashi. Yet. Give him a few years, he might actually become pretty skilled.
Still, Naruto was clearly very distracted today. Normally Kakashi wouldn't particularly care, but Naruto was a thoughtful type of distracted, which usually meant very concerning things. So Kakashi sucked it up and called for a break.
"What's going on, Naruto?"
Naruto fidgeted, clearly a bit embarrassed.
"I'm trying to think of what kinds of things to write in my textbooks."
"Textbooks?"
"Yeah! I felt like doing something nice for the world, and Fuzzy said I should make a school! And if there's gonna be a school, there's gotta be textbooks! Fuzzy promised to help me write them and everything!"
Naruto's writing textbooks? And the Kyuubi's helping?
... Might as well fan the flames.
"You know, if you really want to do something nice for the world, you could establish multiple schools across the continent. Then you have far-reaching effect, rather than helping one limited area."
Naruto gawked for a second, then completely lit up with a blinding grin.
"That's a great idea! Thanks, Kakashi-sensei! You're definitely not as big of an idiot as Fuzzy says!"
Kakashi blinked. That's a compliment, right? Wait, the Kyuubi has been calling him an idiot? Well, that's not incredibly surprising, but does that mean Naruto thinks he's an idiot? And he just said "not as big of an idiot", not "you're not an idiot", so does that mean Naruto still thinks he's stupid? No, you know what, Kakashi's just gonna go get a drink or something to clear the headache. Oh, wait, one more thing before he ditches Naruto...
"If you're gonna build schools, you should probably learn a thing or two about construction. You could build them yourselves with all your clones, or you could hire contractors, but either way it'll require some research. Just to make sure you build the schools right, and hire reliable workers."
Yep, Naruto was bouncing with ideas now. He thanked Kakshi profusely and practically flew off as soon as Kakashi dismissed him. Yeah, this was definitely going to backfire, but Kakashi just couldn't bring himself to care.

-Naruto-
.
Ok! First order of business is researching construction like Kakashi-sensei said! The library might have some stuff about architecture, but it probably wouldn't have much of anything about which contractors to hire... Who would be a good person to ask about that? Probably not Old Man Teuchi... building a restaurant is probably way different from building a school. And last time when Naruto built his restaurant, it was actually just a repurposed building with a few renovations. Jiji got him the contractor for that.
Oh! Jiji! He dealt with contractors all the time! Probably. Naruto doesn't actually know if Jiji does that stuff himself or if he lets someone else do it, but he at least knew enough to help with Naruto's coffee shop. And if Jiji couldn't help, he could probably point Naruto in the direction of someone who could.
Rather pleased with himself, Naruto launched himself through Jiji's (thankfully open) window to figure out the construction. He quickly explained his problem to Jiji as soon as Jiji calmed down from his near heart attack. And Jiji had good advice too! Like setting up a curriculum, and figuring out the budget! Naruto was getting pretty decent money (his coffee shop was doing really well, and he still had money from his allowance and the black market a while ago), but he already had plans for expanding into a chain restaurant so most of his profits were already going toward something. Unfortunately, the schools' construction would probably have to wait. But Jiji said that was probably a good thing, because textbooks could take years to write if you took your time, and this way Naruto and Fuzzy can make sure the textbooks are extra awesome! And Jiji promised to be on the lookout for good contractors (he was already doing that anyway for the chain restaurants, even though Naruto hadn't asked. Good to know Jiji was looking out for Naruto like that) so Naruto could get started as soon as he was ready.
Eager to work on the textbooks, Naruto thanked Jiji and happily bounded out the window again. He quickly got some notebooks and a few pencils and sat down on his dad's head. He stared at the paper for a few minutes before groaning in frustration.
"Fuzzy! How do we write a textbook?"
"Dunno, brat. I've never written one. Maybe just try modeling it after a textbook you've read."
Naruto groaned again.
"Why do you think I read textbooks? Your rants are way more interesting and way more useful."
"Then just write down my rants and turn them into a textbook later. I'm not bored enough to figure this out right now."
Well, that's probably as good an idea as any. Naruto can just write down the rants, fill in the blanks, and group them according to subject. That's probably how most people write textbooks anyway. He can figure out the specifics later.
"Alright Fuzzy, get ranting."
