A/N - attempting to bridge the gap between the tones; this one's more about Naruto and Kurama dealing with the aftermath and bringing the tone back to a more lighthearted approach

-Kurama-

.

Kurama watched absentmindedly as Naruto pounded out his stress on a cliff face next to the training ground. He barely noted the presence of the three Uchiha on the other side of the field, as he was a little more preoccupied with his own thoughts.

The political fallout was a little fun to watch (a fair amount of people threw hissy fits at Naruto's new status as a ward of the Uchiha clan), but Kurama was mostly indifferent to it all. As long as the red-eyed brats treated Kurama's brat well, he couldn't really care less. Naruto was happy about it, but he was also too distracted to lord it over the other clans like Kurama figured he would.

It does make sense. They had both been very unprepared for the cockroach's actions that night. The stress of Kurama possessing him would've been bad enough (it wasn't even intentional, but Kurama knew humans tended to get traumatized when they don't feel in control of their own bodies and minds), but the almost-fiasco with the stolen genjutsu? If Kurama, a being whom Naruto loved and trusted, possessing him would probably be traumatizing, almost mind control from Danzo, of all people, would be absolutely devastating.

It definitely explained Naruto's distraction and stress. Kurama wasn't an expert on humans in general, but he was fairly certain that Naruto needed to do something other than abuse a cliff to work through it.

"Naruto."

Naruto startled. He had been rather averse to ignoring Kurama's voice for the last few days. Kurama should make a point to keep himself more gentle until Naruto adjusted.

"Itachi and Shisui are training Sasuke over there, aren't they? Perhaps you should join them. It'd be more productive than bullying a cliff face."

Naruto winced and sat down for a breather. Yeah, gentle isn't really Kurama's specialty. He should probably be more careful.

"What I mean is, Itachi and Shisui are both skilled in genjutsu, aren't they? If you're worried about your ability to deal with genjutsu, they will most likely have some good advice. And if you want to practice breaking out of genjutsu, wouldn't it be better to learn from someone you trust?"

Naruto sat for another moment. Kurama wondered if he should do a little more prodding, or if he was going about this in the wrong way, but Naruto got up to head over to the Uchihas. Hopefully this would help, but it'd be useful either way. Better to learn how to deal with genjutsu now than during a battle. And it'd be preferable if Kurama didn't have to forcibly possess Naruto again. That was unpleasant for the both of them.

.

-Shisui-

.

It had been a rough few days for all of them, but Shisui had been particularly worried about Naruto. And very offended. That psychopath used Shisui's eye to hurt Naruto! If Fuzzy hadn't murdered the idiot, Shisui would've gladly disemboweled Danzo himself. But he's happy to put that train of thought to the side when Naruto timidly comes over to ask for genjutsu training. Sasuke is happy for any training from Itachi, so they all pivot to basic genjutsu.

The first thing they work on is how to escape a genjutsu. Shisui can easily guess why Naruto wanted genjutsu training in particular, and this is a good spot to start anyway.

They experiment a bit with different levels of genjutsu, with different states of chakra. Naruto on his own can dispel genjutsu surprisingly well, but when he channels Fuzzy's chakra, their combined chakra is too volatile for standard genjutsus to even establish a hold. A very good thing, considering that Naruto just about always has some of Fuzzy's chakra running free through his chakra coils. They make sure that Naruto knows the dispelling technique, just in case there's a situation where Fuzzy can't just overwhelm the genjutsu with unstable chakra.

Itachi tries a few higher-level genjutsu on Naruto, and finds some success. Naruto has quite a bit of difficulty breaking out of those on his own, but Fuzzy can shock him out of it with a well-placed chakra burst. In general, Fuzzy can probably bail Naruto out of genjutsu in most scenarios.

Which begs the question, what exactly happened with Kotoamatsukami?

Both Naruto and Shisui are reluctant to try it, but Fuzzy eggs Naruto on until they give it a go. It works... disturbingly well, actually. Perhaps because it's specifically Sharingan-based? Either way, Fuzzy has to scream and almost resorts to possessing Naruto again to break it. Luckily for everyone, Shisui broke it himself before Fuzzy traumatizes Naruto again.

All in all, it was a very informative session. And luckily, it helped Naruto work through his stress beautifully. At least now he knew how genjutsu affected him, instead of having to guess at what would happen next time. Because there would be a next time. Better to figure it out now with someone he trusts than in the middle of a battle with a ninja who probably wants to kill him.

.

-Kurama-

.

Kurama is rather pleased with himself. Sure, they'll probably be dealing with this for a while (humans tend to hold on to things), but they've made good progress today. Kurama settles down for a well-deserved nap, when Naruto butts in with a question.

"Hey, Fuzzy, it's kind of a big confusing blur, but weren't you screaming something about 'mine'?"

"Yep."

Kurama could practically hear the fidgeting. Ugh. Time to nip this in the bud before the brat gets weird.

"I claimed you a long time ago, brat. Believe it or not, I'm a territorial jerk and I don't particularly care who knows it. That cockroach tried to take something of mine, and traumatized you in the process. There's a reason I went for disintegration instead of a quicker method, especially once I realized he was being a brat and not accepting his death like a mature adult."

Naruto lit up immediately. Yeah, figures. Humans tend to have a weird thing about being claimed, but Kurama's brat is smarter than that. He knows a compliment when he hears one.

Then Naruto paused and looked thoughtful for a moment.

"Hey, Fuzzy, if I'm your kid, does that mean you and my parents had a three-way or something?"

Kurama hummed.

"Not quite what I meant, and I don't think there was any sort of three-way. Although I was inside your mother at the time... Who knows? I don't really know much about human reproduction. Learning about that is pointless for a chakra construct. How would that even work? I don't even have reproductive organs."

Naruto shrugged.

"I've always been pretty compatible with your chakra, right? So, like, I'm my parents' physical baby but I'm your chakra baby?"

Deep questions. Kurama will have to ponder this. Maybe encourage Naruto to take a biology class or something. For now, Naruto seems happy to let the conversation die and focus on spending the rest of his day with Shisui. Seems they've decided to go shopping. Something about getting Shisui a "cool eyepatch".

A/N - I will neither confirm nor deny the chakra baby theory. Naruto and Kurama are just pondering life together. And a guest review asked if Shisui permanently lost his eye. The answer is yes. Danzo stole it, and used it up for Izanagi (like a baby) when Kurama bullied him to death. Another unintentional side effect of how I wrote the last chapter is that Itachi doesn't have a Mangekyou Sharingan, because he didn't watch Shisui die.

Also, to clarify how Kotoamatsukami works. I've seen a few theories, and there are some inconsistencies in the timing. We know Itachi's crow could use it once every decade, but that Danzo could use it with far more frequency due to having implants from both the Uchiha and the Senju. I figure that Shisui would be able to use it a lot more often than Itachi's crow, due to it being his Mangekyou power and actually being an Uchiha instead of needing an implant. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, though. A lot of this is headcanon instead of actual hard lore.
