What if during the episode of Gorilla Fist, instead of being jealous, after finding out that Ron likes Yori and vice-versa, Kim encourages her best friend to express his feelings
I like you Yori. I like you too Ron-san.
Despite having traveled around the world and fighting crime, today has to be one of the most stressful yet weirdest days for Kim Possible. First, her best friend acts strange around her by secretly being about the arrival of a girl named Yori, who later finds out that she attended the school that Ron attended in Japan for the exchange program. Only to find out they were on a mission to find their Sensei, kidnapped alongside Monty, aka Monkey Fist because DnAmy has a crush on him. Still, the strangest part was that she also mutated herself into a half-human, half-gorilla version of winning Monty's heart.
With all that said, the part that caught her off guard was the stitch between Ron and Yori. Watching their interaction, Kim could tell something was up after Ron explained who she was, the slight changes in his usual Ronness around her, and how Yori seemed protective over Ron, giving him high praise and, at one point, being the one saving him from falling. Yet she wasn't officially sure what they were until asking Yori about it after saving Sensi. Yori states that they have a bond of honor, followed by kissing him on the cheek, surprising Kim more than she expected. So now that it confirms how Yori feels, Kim wants to see where Ron's head is at since he now realizes Yori is crushing on him.
"Why can't the ladies just say how they feel?" Ron complains, annoyed that he was slow to pick up on Yori's hints that she's attracted to him.
Kim smirks saying, "Well, the same could be said about the guy saying how they feel too."
Ron takes a second to think about Kim's response and realizes he can't argue her point. "Touche KP."
She chuckles before turning serious but approaches the following question in a caring tone. "Ron, you can be honest with me; how do you feel about Yori?"
"What do you mean?" Ron attempts to act like he doesn't know what she's talking about, but it won't work this time.
"Don't give that, Ron; with how you two are around each other, you can't tell me there's nothing so spill." Kim pushes the topic.
As much as Ron wants to avoid the conversation, he knows Kim won't leave him alone deep down, so he decides to come clean about his feelings. "During the time I was in Japan, it was rough between not catching on to training as fast as dealing with this guy named Fukushima who called me the outsider, yet he teamed up with Monkey Fist making him the traitor, so that was ironic. During that time, I met Yori upon my arrival, and when I first saw her, I couldn't get over how beautiful she looked and how awesome her fighting style was, if that makes sense. She encouraged me even when I wanted to give in or let my fears get the best of me. I can't forget the first time she kissed me on the cheek, warming me inside. I'm rambling at this point, right?"
Kim chuckles at how Ron went from being romantic to his ron like self. "No big; I'm the one who asks you to express how you felt, and from what I'm hearing, it sounds like you have a crush on her as well. The question is, when will you tell her since I would hate for you to miss out like what you did with Tara."
Ron groans at the memory of finding out he could have a chance with another cheerleader who showed interest in him. "Don't remind me of that; most epic fail on my part for not noticing she was digging me. The problem would be Kp even if I were to tell her how it would work when she lives in Japan?" He feels the long-distance relationship would likely not work between him and Yori.
Kim could understand why it would be challenging for the two to date with them being far away from each other; however, as her motto motivates her, she's not going to let her best friend give up without a fight. "I mean, you are talking to your crime-fighting best friend who has connections to get transportation. True long-term that would need to be addressed; wouldn't you rather Yori know how you feel than never and have what ifs?"
Ron ponders his best friend's argument, and when it comes down to it, she's right because he won't know if things can happen with Yori if he doesn't try first. "You do have a point there."
"Then it settles; we will detour before heading home." Kim cheers before pulling out her kimmunicator and calling Wade to change their traveling plans.
*Time later at Yamanouchi*
Yori and Sensei arrive back at school safely, with Yori's mind clouded with thoughts on what occurred today, specifically, her interaction between Stoppable-san and his friend Kim Possible. It was interesting finally meeting Kim since Stoppable-san had mentioned her and did her research, and despite a rocky start, she believes they could be friends in the future. As far as Stoppable-san goes, she was happy to see him with his America-style antics. However, having to leave him again stirs up sadness in her heart, where Sensei notices this and offers to talk about it with Yori denying the request respectfully, not wanting to bother him.
Unknown to Stoppable-San, or as he usually prefers to be called Ron-San, Yori gains feelings for the blonde hero as he shows bravery when he helps save her and stops Monkey Fist and Fukushima from stealing the Lotus Blade as well as the fact that when he doesn't over think his fighting style is creative. There's also the fact that Yori finds Ron kind-hearted and funny with his American-style jokes and how she finds him very attractive.
Yori starts to her quarters after meditating when someone calls out her name, making her turn quickly as she realizes it's someone she isn't expecting to see so soon. "Stoppable-san!?"
"Hey my favorite ninja, are you surprised to see us so soon?" Ron greets her alongside Rufus as the two walk up to the ninja.
Yori rushes over to him with excitement and confusion in her mind seeing her favorite American boy. "Honestly, yes, I assume you would be back home getting some much-needed America-style rest after our adventure today."
"Yeah, but before I do so, I have something important to take care of, and now that I'm here, I'm not sure how to explain what I came here to say." Ron almost starts to ramble from how nervous he is about what he is about to say.
Thankfully for him, Yori attempts to calm his nerves by saying softly, "Hai relax Stoppable-san. Take a deep break as you gather your thoughts before you speak."
After following her advice, Ron is ready to speak from his heart. "Well, you see, you know how when Kim asked what was the stitch between us and you said we have a bond of honor, and I assume that it was just your way of saying goodbye, and you made a joke about not understanding girls?"
Yori nods, allowing Ron to continue. "So right as you left, I did some thinking and realized I was about to make the same mistake I did before, so I am to tell you that I like you Yori."
Yori's eyes widen, causing Ron to tense up and attempt to explain further what he is trying to say. "I don't just mean like a simple yeah; she's a cool person type, but more like I'm crushing on you. If you don't feel the same way or I misunderstood your hints, then it's okay, but I rather express my feelings now, or I might regret it."
He starts to ramble until Yori stops him by placing a finger on his lips and responds with a warm smile, "I like you too Ron-San."
Ron swears that his heart skip a beat from what he heard, and he wants to pinch himself to ensure this isn't a dream. Of course, Rufus brings him back to reality by patting him on the cheek. "Really?" He asks with so much hope in his voice.
"Yes, I do; I was hoping if fate had its way, you would catch on, for it would be your honor to confess first if our feelings are mutual," Yori confesses, feeling a weight off her chest now being able to express her emotions to Ron.
Ron chuckles at being reminded of the customs in Japan. "I should have seen that one coming. I'm glad I could finally tell you about my crush on you and that you feel the same about me. However, the only downside is that I'm unsure what happens next since we live so far apart, like being in a long-distance relationship-wise." Ron points out sadly. As he mentioned to Kim, the long distance would probably be why Yori wouldn't want to date him, and he can't blame her if that's the case. While Kim's suggestion can work short term, the long-term aspect could become an issue.
Yori, like Kim, has thought about the idea of a long-distance relationship between her and Ron, and thus she has her conclusion as well. "Ah Ron-San, I have to wonder how to deal with the distance issue, which is why I already have talked over with sensei of ideas in case we ever did get to this point."
Ron's mouth nearly drops to the ground, not expecting to hear that answer. "Wait, for real!? What did you two come up with?" He questions with anticipation.
Yori can't help but giggle as she says, "Sorry, but it would be your honor to wait and see."
Ron groans, for he should have seen that coming. "Aww man. If it means we can properly be in a relationship, it will be worth the wait." Ron smiles as he gazes into the sky for a second before returning to Yori. "Unfortunately, I think it's time to head home to rest for school."
Yori lifts Ron's chin to face her, seeing a sad expression. "No sad face; we now face this new path together, which means even if we are miles far apart, that will not always be the case. Believe me, as I believe in you Ron-San."
"I always will, Yori." Ron softly says as the two become lost in the other's eyes. Ron notices that Yori starts to lean closer and assumes she will kiss him on the cheek like before, so he embraces it gracefully. To his surprise, Ron suddenly feels a pair of lips connecting with his, and as if the world stands still for a moment, Ron and Yori share their first official kiss.
Yori always pulls slowly and whispers in Ron's ear, "Until next time Ron-San." Before walking away with a bit more sway to hips leaving Ron speechless and wanting more. By the time he gets back to Kim, whose patiently waiting on him to return, she looks up at Ron with a look on his face as if he hit the Bueno Nacho lottery.
"So, how did it go?" Kim was curious despite having an idea of what was taking place.
For the first time since the kiss, Ron speaks out the only word he can think up to respond with, "BOO-YA!"
Kim laughs and is happy things will work out for her best friend. Strangely a tiny part of her starts to have what if she and Ron dated, but she presses those thoughts the best she can, like how Ron has been there for her during the pursuit of Josh Mankey; it's Kim's time to support her best friend in his new relationship. "Simple and straight to the point. Hopefully, you will give the juicy details once your brain reboots."
Another note: I finally updated this series after a long break from writing. I planned to have an alternative version of the Gorilla Fist episode initially, so why to start the series with it? I remember when I first watched this episode and was mad that Ron and Yori didn't get together since I figured Kim would either get back with Josh or end up with someone else. With that said, I wanted to take a different approach, for I have a jealous Kim chapter thought of later on in the series, and I believe this is how Kim could have been if she only saw Ron as a friend.
