21 years ago, a child was being scolded by his father, Blackchain. "If you can't kill a simple bug Eustace, how will you kill your enemies as a pirate!?" Eustace shook in place, responding fearfully, "I-I think life is special... can't we just catch it and-" He's cut off by Blackchain slamming his fist down on the small bug, cracking the ground beneath it. "Eustace, you're the child of a Celestial Dragon! Those below us barely deserve to live in the same atmosphere as us!" He got up, leaving the crushed bug carcass behind. "Clean this up," he demanded as he left.
Hours later, Eustace was sulking in his room before a knock on the door pulled him out of his thoughts. "Eustace?" It was Zii, his younger half sister. "Hey..." he sounded dead inside. She came over and rubbed his head. "He doesn't get it is all. You just gotta keep your head up. You wanna be a pirate, like dad. Not be a pirate like dad." He looked confused. She just sighed and took his hand, dragging him outside. She took him to a poor part of town that didn't have those light orbs that lit up the rich cities owned by Celestial Dragons. "Why'd you take me all the way out here?" She looked up, and pointed. "See what these poor people have?" He looked up, and the view was astounding. The dark brought out all the stars shining down, and littered the sky in a beautiful dance.
14 years later, Eustace was trying to get people to join his crew, but he just wasn't having any luck. He complained to Blackchain, and he gave some advice. "Do what I did. Blackmail the best into your crew, and you'll be unstoppable." Eustace nodded, and asked, "That's what you're supposed to do?" Blackchain just smirked behind his hands as he answered, "Yes, it's what you're required to do to be a pirate." After that advice, Blackmail ventured out to take anyone he deemed strong. But deep down he couldn't go through with anything outside of petty theft, and only lied about kidnapping people. For 7 years he built up a sizable crew of 17, and began making a name for himself. He felt it was time for a big target; the sword master of Cleomoria, the king Giovanni. He had a whole plan to take the king, but the princess actually getting captured ruined it. He detained her to save face, but that event dominoed heavily.
Present day, on Bug Island, Blackmail laid in the sand, clearly post-beatdown. His breathing was shaky but steady. A huge man coming up out of nowhere kneeled down to him. Blackmail looked up. "Puupi... you here to finish me off..?" Puupi just picked him up, and walked into the forest. He seemed to know where he was going. After some time, they reached the center of the island, where the bug lady was standing by a lone palm tree in the middle of the forest. She pushed a hidden button, and some kind of elevator started decending with all three of them. "Huh..?" Blackmail questioned.
