Alabasta, a summer island known for its massive desert housed families of humans, minks, and their children. The land was ruled by one of the four Emperor's of the Sea, a title given to the strongest beings that roam these seas, even though he doesn't get out much. But the name Anubis will strike fear in anyone who would dare to threaten his people. This protection made a certain kid look up to him as a hero, and this kid would aim for that himself.
"Mom! Mom!" Kiwi ran around in a circle, trying to get the attention of a green cat mink who was smiling brightly. "Yes?" He skidded and turned outside, and his mom chuckled as she got up to follow him. "Ready Dad!?" A regular man out in the distance wearing a rubber suit gave him a thumbs up. "What is all this?" mom asked. Kiwi started rubbing his hands together, making it spark with electricity. She just smiled, until he thrust his hands forward.
The lightning bolt was absolutely huge, blasting dad into the ground. "Ah! Henry!" He quickly shot another thumbs up. "I'm good Plum!" She put her hands on her hips. "Why you zapping dad?" Kiwi just poked his fingers together, "No one else would..." Henry ran up, giving Plum another thumbs up with a smile. "You two... what ever am I gonna do?"
After some tuning, Kiwi got a better hold on his zaps. He felt ready, and snuck out of home one night. "Don't worry mom, when I get back, it'll be as a hero!" He took a small boat, but once he got out to sea, he got blown out by a huge storm. The boat was small enough to pass through the Calm Belt without detection, and he was too determined to give up. "Just you wait! I'll defeat you world!"
The world didn't appreciate that challenge, cuz he ended up stranded on an island once his boat shattered. He wandered around, before a giant gorilla tried to attack him. A big zap made the gorilla run away crying, and Kiwi shot one into the air, trying to send a signal. After a few days, a purple fruit with swirls decorating it appeared, and considering it was the only food he could find, he just ate it immediately. "Gum? Huh? It's not gum flavored..."
A ship's horn interrupted his meal, and he ran out to the beach, where he saw a cruiser. They were quite close, and were totally about picking him up. There he met Kasai, some guy from Wano just exploring randomly, but paid him no mind. Later that night, a storm came out of nowhere, and a sea beast attempted to eat the boat. Kiwi came up, "Don't worry, I got this!" He rubbed his hands together and thrusted his palms towards the beast. "What? My p-powers!?" He pulled his hand, noticing it stretch. 'No... that was a Devil Fruit!? And it made me rubber!?' The sea beast then proceeded to destroy the cruiser, but thanks to the Wano guy who could turn into a wyvern, they were saved. They flew into a nearby island, populated with huge bugs.
