"So anything new with you?"
"Anything new, eh? I probably should not say anything but Yu is back in town."
While Izuku and Yu settled for the night speaking of his parentage, Keigo was sitting at the edge of a rooftop across the city with a black-haired man with pale blue eyes and burn scars all over his body in a black trench coat and pants with a white t-shirt. At the words of the strawberry blonde, the man raised his brow in intrigue. "Huh?" He vocalized unsure how to react to the news of Mount Lady's return.
Keigo chuckled at the one-word response explaining the situation further. "I was just as surprised as you were." He started staring up at the half-moon in the sky. "But I am not pulling your leg, she is really back." He said, flashing the black-haired gentleman a grin. "We just need you to get the gang back together, and maybe she will forgive you for what happened eight years ago. Though I would hate that you would stop being my tax break, that hundred fifty million a year write-off you had me save up will start to hurt me now."
"I did not need the money, and I can be considered a villain now, so why not make sure she was set if she ever came back? I owe her that much." The man said, returning the laugh as the two looked over at the busy streets. The two had not talked at all like this in several months, not since the attack on U.A. was being planned.
Keigo for his part frowned, he knew what this man did to Yu and he wasn't happy about it. Yu had mourned this man's death for years despite Keigo having a direct line to him, and it hurt that he could not tell her or Rumi about it. "Owe that much? Brother, you owe her an explanation, you owe them both at least that. Think about what she went through and what she had been going through after she found your double. Not only did she think that you died that night, but she thinks that you went out in one of the most horrific ways possible. Goddammit Touya she blames herself for not being able to save you, you fucking dumbass."
Touya sat there with an unreadable expression on his face, he knew what he did and how it would affect his loved ones, and though he was aware of it he was at the same time wanting to escape his situation by any means possible. He did not have the best home life growing up and he could not think of going back to that house after his time in Shiketsu, so when the heroes' committee chairman Aika Nakamura offered him a way out he could not refuse her deal, after the age of the Yakuza the woman predicted a power vacuum that would take Japan by storm. She knew that a group of villains would consolidate their power and form something that would threaten the peace at the level of the warlords if given enough time, he was now part of one of those groups, a group calling themselves the league. "You know I couldn't tell either of them, we have to make sure that the person behind the league does not gain any more power. And you know how much of a hate boner that guy and the person he put in charge have for All Might. Plus we have Overhaul's group to worry about too."
"I know, I know. I just felt like busting your balls about it man, I have been keeping an eye on your dad since and that entire situation was fucked up. You just need to think about taking care of yourself, it's got to be rough pretending to be all for that shit. I know that just like me, Rumi, and Yu you are going to keep your promise. Even though you probably can't be a top ten hero anymore, Dabi-san." Keigo said, laughing despite his sad smile looking at the passersby from their vantage point on this chilly night.
Touya, understanding his meaning, looked at his hands as he cupped them on his lap, if there was a heaven out there somewhere he had hoped that whoever was in charge would look the other way for him once he left this world, while for the briefest moment, a blue flame sparked in his hands. "Ignight, Argos, Mirko, and Hawks… the top four." He smiled as the flame went out. "I doubt that can happen now."
"You would not be the first you know…" Keigo began, making sure that Touya caught what he meant by those words, smiling at the recognition in the other man's eyes. "The chairman is… favorable to the whims of those who earnestly want to become heroes among the clans of the warlords, and that extends to a lover as well. Why do you think Kaina-san has an open invitation to become a hero again knowing that she has no interest in coming back and has a far worse reputation than you will ever have."
"Still…"
"Still nothing, you have to do what you have to do to survive among those assholes. I understand that, and Lady Nakamura understands that. Anyone can still be a hero if they want to be." Keigo put a reassuring hand on Touya's shoulder.
"You think?"
"I know, so enough of this feeling bad about ourselves, yeah?" Keigo smiled at the defeated nod and sigh he got as a response. "So what did you call me here for?" He asked.
Touya got whiplash from the suddenness of his question. He had come here for a reason, sure, but they were just having a moment here and Keigo's sudden change of subject ruined it, appearing as if Keigo was the same as he was in their high school days. Chuckling he put together what he was going to tell the Pro-hero Hawks in his head. "There have been moves made for Hosu behind the scenes, I don't know much but Shigaraki has been trying to get the Hero killer on his side and is planning to follow Stain here. Also, he is making a lot of those things again with that doctor I told you about. They give me the creeps."
Keigo nodded along to his report, since the USJ attack, they had tried to soften All Might's load since that day in Musutafu given the league wanted to test their new zombie creation overloaded with Quirks that were designed to help kill the man himself. Now they had two new headaches knocking on their door in Stain and those creatures that Shigaraki calls Nomu. "Do you know when all of this is going to happen?"
Touya really wished he did, but there was so much that Kurogiri could feed him on the down low. "I will be honest with you Keigo. I have no idea… I am not saying this is one hundred percent but after Ingenium, look for anyone that could be on that list and if he goes after them then Shigaraki will probably act."
Keigo buried his face in his hands, not believing what he was hearing. He knew very well that the Hero killer was after corrupt and attention-seeking top-ranked heroes and in the sea of people that was Genshiro Fujiwara's territory he could not help but groan at the needle in the haystack that was Stain's next target. Sure he, Rumi, and Yu were not on this list despite their mob ties, but he could not say the same for whoever was not a part of theirs or for that matter Endeavour's agencies. "You got a target in mind or is that on us?" Keigo sighed when Touya shrugged. "Goddammit, well I will put the word out. Hopefully, no one who can be a target is stupid enough to be caught with their pants down. And I should probably warn Fujiwara-san as well. Anything else?"
"No, you have taken care of that Overhaul thing right?" Touya spoke, stretching while standing to his full height, grabbing an earbud from his coat's pocket.
"In a way?"
"In a way?!"
"Listen, it's going to be fine. I am outsourcing it to our new signee and her U.A. mentee." Keigo said dismissively, not looking Touya in the eye.
"Please tell me that it's not Yu… Keigo?" Touya looked down at Keigo with a look that could murder a crowd.
Keigo started sweating, he knew why Touya wouldn't want Rumi or Yu to go after a person who could destroy and rebuild all matter with a touch, but… but the reward of Yu catching him with All Might's kid and her definite rank up after was too much of a reward to not gain given the risks involved. "It's not like I am going to send her there alone with the kid."
"Keigo…"
"I got this covered, trust me, your girlfriend will be fine, besides…" Keigo gave Touya a shit-eating grin. "Why do you care? Cuck ghosts can't hit anyway." Before Touya could react Keigo hopped off the ledge spreading his wings, flying into the night sky.
"You mother…" Touya began, watching him leave with a murderous grin. "IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO HER IT'S YOUR ASS HAWKS." He shouted into the night, thinking about a haircut and shave that could be done with his flames the next time they met… or if the man's wings had a period of molting.
