Chp. 2: Shining Haven

It was now morning inside Haven Academy as all the newcomers were gathered inside the Grand Hall. Siavash, Lloyd, Mitra, Athena, Yasu, and Atar were among them the newcomers.
"Here we are," Athena said.
"Yeah, cousin. Haven Academy," Siavash said.
"To think that this hall would have been a battle ground if Earth hadn't got involved in all of this," Yasu said.
"I've heard that all of the new students hear are mostly comprised of those of our world than those of Remnant. And some of the students that have already been here have transferred to the other three Huntsmen Academies," Mitra said.
"Probably because the Remnans didn't want to associate themselves with an academy that had someone that betrayed everyone and would have had his fellow staff and Huntsmen killed just to save his own skin," Atar said.
"Even some of the staff here chose to resign and are making plans to leave Mistral, as well as a few other Huntsmen and Huntresses," Lloyd said.
"Do they not realize that Professor Lionheart had already been killed?" Mitra asked.
"They do, but they didn't want to take any chances," Siavash answered.
"Plus, there's that Relic that's locked up under the academy," Atar added.
"And that's where people like us step in to keep the relic safe from falling into the wrong hands," Yasu said.
"Exactly, the next generation of Huntsmen and Huntre-" Mitra waved her arms from side to side and accidently smacked someone's back who nearly dropped a large brown bag.
Everyone turned around to see a boy with a dark complexion with long, messy black hair and purple eyes. He wears a pair of purple dress shoes, a pair of dark blue dress pants, and a matching coat with a blue dress shirt underneath and a dark blue tie. He also wears a brown belt that holds several small gray capsules around his left shoulder down to his right hip.
"Watch it! You almost made me spill my bag of capsules! I've been getting these things ready for weeks now!" the boy said, showing off his bag filled with small gray capsules.
"What are they for?" Athena asked.
"They're for the initiation tomorrow and out in the field of glorious combat!" the boy said.
"Don't you think you have... a little too many of those things?" Atar asked.
"You can never be too careful and can never have too many," he answered with a wide-eyed smirk.
"So... who are you?" Lloyd asked.
"Deriko Bronze. I hail all the way from Atlas and came here to study to be a Huntsman. That way, it will help me get one step closer to becoming one of the greatest minds in all of history!" Deriko answered as he let out a cackle.
Siavash, Athena, Lloyd, Yasu, Atar, and Mitra all gave weirded-out expressions from Deriko's answer.
"Okay?" Athena said.
"Good luck to you then, buddy," Siavash said.
"My mind shall be recognized one day! And no one will stop me!" Deriko exclaimed as he then turned around and walked away, taking his large bag with him.
"He was... something," Mitra said.
"That's a light way of putting it," Siavash said.
"Excuse me," someone tapped on Siavash's shoulder, catching his attention.
Siavash turns around to see a girl standing before him. The girl has black hair that was draped over her left shoulder and purple eyes. She wears a pair of brown knee high boots with silver buckles on the sides, a pair of long stockings that light purple at the bottom before fading up to black at the top, a matching short, open front skirt that was held up by a brown belt with a silver buckle and a pair of black short shorts underneath, and a pair of long sleeved gloves that match her skirt and stockings. Her gloves end in a triangle shape, which are wrapped around her middle fingers and the other end of her gloves end with silver armbands. She also wears a white collared dress shirt and a light purple,v-collared vest over the shirt. On top of her head was a mage hat with a blade that circles around the edge of her hat.
"Is this where all the new arrival students are supposed to be?" the girl asked.
"Yes, this is where we're all supposed to be," Siavash answered.
"Thank the gods. I got a little lost and it was hard to get anyone's help for directions," the girl said.
"Same here for me and my friends here," Siavash said as the rest of his friends turned around to face the girl.
"So who are you, miss?" Athena asked.
"Amethyst Nessarose, at your service," the girl known as Amethyst introduced as she took her hat off and placed it over her chest, while giving a bow.
"You... You don't have to do that," Atar said.
"Sorry. I really want to make a good first impression," Amethyst said.
"We all do. We don't want to make an ass of ourselves on the first day," Lloyd asid.
"You guys have names?" Amethyst asked.
"My name is Siavash Ashura." Siavash introduced himself.
"Lloyd Shapour," he said with a wave of his hand.
"I'm Athena Ashura. I'm Siavash's cousin." she said.
"My name is Yasu Hanako," Yasu said with a bow.
"Atar Firebreaker. I changed my last name to Firebreaker," he said.
"I'm Mitra Anahi," she said, waving her hand.
"It's nice to meet you all," Amethyst said.
"Nice to meet you, too," Yasu said.
"I better get going. I want to be ready for the initiation tomorrow," Amethyst said.
"Good luck to you," Siavash said.
Amethyst turned around and walked away, while they all watched her leave.
"She's nice," Mitra said.
"May I have your attention please?" a voice spoke out from above.
Everyone turned their attention to see Professor Pauline Bellrose standing up on the balcony in front of a microphone.
"I would like to welcome you all to Haven Academy. It really means a lot to not only this academy, but also to the Kingdom of Mistral. I am Professor Pauline Bellerose, the Headmistress of Haven. I won't lie to you, but ever since the treasonous actions of the last headmaster, Professor Leonardo Lionheart had been exposed, things have been going terrible not only in this academy, but all of Mistral. Faunus discrimination and violence towards them has increased all over the kingdom. This negativity has caused Grimm activities to increase as well. And with a majority of Huntsmen and Huntresses leaving Mistral, we're all stretched thin,"
The students all listened with concern as the headmistress continued.
"But that is where you all step in, the next generation of Huntsmen and Huntresses. It will be your job to protect the innocent and keep the peace when the time comes. And for the first time in history, Remnant won't be alone in this endeavor. We are joined by natives of Earth who have chosen to come to aid in protecting mankind. Tomorrow, you all will be taking part into an initiation to prove yourselves to not only be worthy of the title Huntsman, but prove that you deserve to be learning here in Haven Academy."
The students all gave a round of applause as Bellerose finished her speech.
"Until tomorrow comes, prepare yourselves and rest up. Once you pass, bring back honor and restore the good name of Haven Academy," Bellerose finished.
Bellerose turns around and walks away into the hallway leading to her office. The students all started shuffling around to prepare to settle for the night, while also preparing for the initiation tomorrow.
"Quite a speech there," Lloyd said.
"Yes, it is. Haven deserves to have its credibility restored after all it has been through," Mitra said.
"Once we pass, we can get started on that," Yasu said.
