Chp. 17: Secrets Unveiled
Haven Academy
Headmaster's Office
The sun was setting as Teams SLAA, HDAA, and SAPR, Samuel, Laura, Professor Bellerose, and Arslan were all gathered in the Bellerose's office.
"So let me get this straight; Team SLAA and Team HDAA discovered some magic artifacts where Team SMMK wants to gain for their own purposes, so you all went to Team SAFR for help since they have experience with magic artifacts?" Arslan went over.
"That pretty much sums it all up, yeah," Pyke answered.
"Don't you think someone like Professor Ozpin should know about this?" Arslan asked.
"Most of us don't trust Professor Ozpin or others with a position of power. He has made numerous mistakes throughout his many lives, especially when they involve Salem," Athena answered.
"We fear that the artifacts would fall into the wrong hands and could cause a lot of damage to our merged worlds," Amethyst added. "You have seen Earth's history right?"
"I suppose all that is true," Arslan replied. "I can understand why you all want this to be kept a secret."
"I bet you do," Asher said.
"Arslan, we don't want word of these magical artifacts to get out," Yasu said.
"Not even your own team. You already know too much as it is," Fenix said.
"If you're worried about those guys hunting me down, don't be. Me and my team had recruited ourselves to an organization called the United Hunters League. We'll be leaving Anima in a few days,"Arslan said.
"That's good. But remember, you can't tell anyone about this. Not even the UHL," Bellerose said.
"I understand, Professor. Not a word of this will come out," Arslan replied with a nod.
"And even though Professor Bellerose, my husband, and I are with the UHL, we've sworn to secrecy on this matter," Laura said.
"Wait, Arslan. You're leaving?" Atar asked.
"Yes. I was going to tell you, but Team SMMK attacked," Arslan answered. "But I will call you when I get the chance. We'll set up schedules when I get to my destination."
"Okay, Arslan," Atar replied.
"By the way, there is still one more thing that needs to be explained," Mitra said.
"Yeah. The magic that Siavash conjured against Team SMMK," Atar said, gesturing his hand at his friend. "He didn't have any artifacts on him at the time."
"That shouldn't be possible. Nobody, especially nobody from Earth, should be able to use magic of that kind of caliber except for the Ozpin, Salem, and the Four Maidens. So the question is why is that suddenly possible for Siavash?" Arrastra asked.
"Before I used this magic. There was a voice. It spoke to me on what to do, and then the magic happened," Siavash said.
"Was it the same voice that you told us about that had been talking to you for the past few days now?" Laura asked.
"Yes, it was," Siavash answered.
"Has he said anything else to you at the time Team SMMK attacked?" Samuel asked.
"Yeah. The voice said that all would be revealed with you all gathered. But he hasn't answered yet," Siavash answered.
"I'm answering now, boy," the voice spoke in Siavash's head, causing him to place his hand on his forehead.
"What's wrong?" Bellerose asked.
"He's answering," Siavash answered.
"Is there a way for us to listen in?" Asher asked.
"Leave this to me," the voice said.
Siavash's eyes suddenly started to glow silver brightly as everyone in the room took a step back.
"Greeting everyone. I'm sure you all have some questions like Siavash," the voice spoke through Siavash to everyone in the room.
"I'll start with the most important, yet basic question. Who are you?" Bellerose asked.
"I am called Mitrandil. I am... or I should say was a powerful wizard of my time. Now I'm stuck inside your friend's body," the voice introduced as Mitrandil answered.
"Why are you inside Siavash's body?" Mitra asked.
"Remember when he discovered the vase back at the ancient ruins?" Mitrandil asked.
"Yeah, but it shattered when Siavash touched it," Fenix answered.
"Yes, but here's the thing. My soul had been trapped in that vase for thousands of years laying dormant, and when Siavash touched the vase, my soul was transferred into his body," Mitrandil explained.
"Why was your soul in a vase?" Laura asked.
"I was experimenting with my magic, seeing if the transfer of one's soul and back was a possibility," Mitrandil began.
Flashback
Unknown House
Several Millennia Ago
Inside a home made from stone and brick, thousands of years ago, a man stood before the vase that was inside a small archway in a wall as he raised his hands as they started to glow blue. As his hands glowed, so too did the vase.
The man had long graying hair and a matching beard and silver eyes. He wore a blue cloak with gold trimmings, and a matching robe with a gold rope wrapped around his waist. The man that stood before the vase was Mitrandil.
"The transfer of my soul went as intended," Mitrandil narrated.
A blue smokey apparition of himself flew out from his body as it entered inside the vase, while Mitrandil's body stood motionless in front of it.
"And as I was about to reunite my body again..."
Suddenly a giant purple wave of magic approached at a very fast rate, engulfing everything it came across.
"A great tidal wave of magic of which the likes I had ever seen enveloped everything in its path. And when it passed... so too did my body."
The wave passed through everything in and out of the house. When it passed by, everything around remained, except for Mitrandil as all that remained was some ash that scattered to the floor where he had once stood. By then, the vase stopped glowing.
Flashback Ends
"My soul ever since then had been trapped in that vase for thousands of years being lost to time. I had waited for someone to find the vase to free me, but nobody came. So I had set my soul to sleep until I was released. I thought that I was never going to escape a prison of my own making... that was until your friend found me," Mitrandil finished.
Everyone inside the room stood in stunned silence for a short while, processing the information that was given to them.
"I have a question to ask you. What were the last events that had occurred before the incident you had?" Samuel asked.
"I've heard stories of a woman who had claimed to have stolen immortality from the gods and had convinced a handful of rulers to try and steal the powers of our creators for themselves," Mitradil answered. "Why do you ask me that question?"
Everyone looked at each other for a moment, realizing who the woman was that Mitrandil was talking about.
"It's a long story," Lloyd answered.
"To shorten it up, that woman you brought up led the first wave of humanity to be wiped out by the gods, and she and her ex-husband are currently in a war with each other. And also merged the world of Remnant to our world of Earth," Athena explained.
Mitrandil stood in silence for a moment, processing the information given to him before he spoke.
"That sounds like quite the story. One that you must tell me at some point," he said.
"So what do you plan on doing?" Lloyd asked.
"Especially that it involves Siavash," Amethyst added.
"Since my magic is also now his magic, I'm going to teach him these magical arts," Mitrandil answered. "And perhaps I can help you all gain a better understanding of these magical artifacts."
"This would help us greatly. Just think of the potential of what we can do once we uncover more secrets! It will be gloriously beautiful!" Deriko exclaimed.
Mitrandil raised an eyebrow before turning his head to the others.
"Is he alright?" Mitrandil asked.
"We don't know. He's always like this," Pyke answered.
"I have to be cautious with that one. I'll be giving Siavash control again," Mitrandil said.
Siavash's eyes stopped glowing as shook his head for a moment, gaining control of his body.
"That felt weird," Siavash said. "Is this how Oscar felt when Ozpin gained control?"
"I guess you and Mitrandil are now responsible for each other now," Samuel said.
"But be more careful when you're out in public. We don't want any accidental magic to occur from you that would get Ozpin's attention," Bellerose said.
"With Mitrandil inside me, I'm sue help me control this magic," Siavash said.
Author's Note: Have any of you seen this show on Youtube called RWBY Evermorrow? I found it recently and it is a series of Fanfic videos by kaleidoarms based on RWBY. This series depicts what would've happened if Team RWBY continued being students at Beacon Academy. Also kaleidoarms had stated that Salem, the Maidens, and the relics don't exist in the show. They upload an episode at least once every couple mouths from the looks of it, likely due to the time to animate each episode. So far 8 episodes are out and I recommend giving it a watch.
