At a huge building, which was one of the laboratories, someone was looking at a picture of All Might. He had a small fond smile on his face, and then heard footsteps. "Excuse me? Uh, Professor?" He looked up in confusion at who just entered through the doorway. "I finished putting the equipment away, just so you know."
"Already?" The man walked up to his employee, who had a small smile on his face. "Thanks so much, Sam!"
"Why don't you get out of the lab today and have some lunch with Melissa?" Sam asked his boss as they stepped into another room.
"She's busy today, at the Academy," David Shield smiled at the man.
"Huh? I thought they were on break for I-Expo," Sam blinked in confusion, not aware of Melissa's plans.
"Yes, but she's doing independent research," David smiled proudly at the thought.
"You know me, I am my father's daughter," Melissa was actually in the doorway, having heard the conversation. "For better and for worse!"
"Melissa, hey," David gave a shocked look to see his daughter.
"Oh, Melissa, it's so good to see you," Sam just offered her a small smile.
"Oh, right back at you, Sam! Thanks for always taking care of Papa, since he does nothing but work here constantly," She joked with an amused smile.
"Come on, I'm not that bad," David gave an embarrassed smile while Sam let out an amused laugh. "To what do we owe the pleasure?"
"Oh, you'll see! Since you completed the first part of your research, I invited someone here to celebrate with us!" She revealed to her father with a happy look.
"Who would that be?"
"A person you dearly love!" She looked over her shoulder and he gasped sharply as All Might revealed himself.
"Yes, I am here!" He shouted at the top of his lungs. "Shaking with emotion from our heartfelt reunion!" He struck a few poses during his grand entrance. Meanwhile, the twins were both standing in the doorway, but he was blocking them.
"Toshi-All Might!" David corrected himself, looking at his old friend in a stupor.
"Is...it really you?" Sam murmured and All Might responded with a laugh. He then lunged forward towards his friend.
"I came all this way just to see you, Dave, old buddy!" All Might spun the man around before placing him on the floor.
Melissa watched their reunion and then popped up behind the hero with a big smile on her face. "Well, Papa, are you totally surprised?"
"Uhh...yeah!" David smiled fondly at the two and then looked away to get over the shock. "Completely astounded..."
"We both have Melissa to thank for that," All Might watched David get on his feet. "Man, how long has it been?"
"Oh, now, come on. Don't make me say it, I already feel old enough, you jerk!" David smiled in amusement, earning a laugh from the hero. He then laughed along with his old friend at the joke.
"You do have a point!" He then gave his usual smile down at the man. "Glad to see you again...my friend."
"Agreed. Missed you too," David fist bumped his friend, and everyone finally turned towards the twins. Izuka yelped to hide behind her brother, who was shaking like a leaf while watching the duo. He couldn't even speak either...
"Young Midoriya, Young Mido. Let me introduce you to someone incredible: David Shield!"
"I know him!" Izuku gushed towards the man, shocking Melissa. "Professor David Shield! A top scientist in the research world who received a Nobel Quirk Prize! He was All Might's partner when he lived in America! And he's a genius when it comes to costumes! All Might's young age, bronze age, the silver age! And of course...the golden age! He's the inventor who created each of those iconic looks! I never thought I'd get to meet him in real life!" He then dashed over to the man, causing Izuka to stumble a bit. "I'm...just so moved!" He then cried out in joy, Melissa giggling from behind.
Izuka stepped up next to her brother, shaking a bit. "I-it's an honor to meet you, sir..."
"It seems I don't have to introduce myself," David spoke up and Izuku flinched, bowing his head.
"Oh wow! I'm sorry!"
"No, don't apologize," David waved it off, and then blinked while looking between the two. "Ah! Twins! I've never met twins before."
"Yeah, we are," Izuku rubbed the back of his neck.
"He's f-fascinated by us?" Izuka let out a small hum, feeling a bit bashful.
All Might started coughing a little. The scientist noticed it, and so did Izuka. She gave a small frown in worry towards her mentor. At some point, they needed to stop somewhere so he could take a breather... "Listen. It's been a long time. Can the three of you give All Might and me a little time to catch up?"
"Yeah, of course!" Izuku agreed and his sister nodded with a small hum.
"Just...take things slow, okay, Mr. All Might? Are you gonna be alright?" Izuka asked the hero in concern.
"Ha ha! I'll be just fine, Young Mido! Thank you for your concern!" All Might laughed while patting her shoulder.
"Melissa, why don't you take our new friends on a tour around the Expo?" David offered and Izuka gasped sharply, her eyes shining at the thought.
"Sure thing, Papa! Sounds like fun!"
"You're not busy?" Izuku looked up at her and Izuka let out a shocked yelp.
"W-We don't wanna impose, you must have things to do," She waved a rapid hand.
"No, no, I'm honored to show off our hard work to two future heroes," The blonde smiled happily at the two, her eyes closed. "Right this way!"
"Thanks! This is so nice of you," Izuku smiled back as the two followed her out.
"I-it was nice...meeting you both," Izuka waved to David and Sam, who waved back to her. "We'll see you later, Mr. All Might!"
Sam smiled at the three, but David suddenly didn't look so happy anymore... "Sam?" His employee turned to him in confusion. "You should take a break too."
"So, what do you want me to call you two?" Melissa questioned the twins as she led them down a hallway. "By your real names, or do you have hero ones already?"
"Well, actually..." Izuku looked up in thought and then nodded with a small smile. "Why don't you call me Deku?"
"Deku?" She blinked in confusion from the name. "That's kind of a strange nickname. You can stick with Melissa for me," She gestured to herself with a small smile, waving a playful finger towards Izuka. "I know how you address people, so no more Ms. Shield or Ms. Melissa for you!"
"Uh!" Izuka blinked and then let out a small giggle. "It's a force of habit of mine...I-I'm sorry. But you can call me Izuka."
"It's okay, I think it's adorable that you act so shy, but I promise I won't bite," Melissa joked, earning a small smile from Izuka. "No hero name?"
"It's Callista! But I prefer my real name until I become a pro hero."
"I get that," Melissa hummed a little, hands behind her back. "So, were you always this shy around new people?"
"Well, it's easier with Mr. All Might and my brother...because I've known them for quite a while. Same thing with my class," Izuka turned away, that same smile still on her face. "Anytime I come across people I don't know or just meeting new people, I just clamp up and stutter..."
"I don't know about that," Izuku spoke up and she turned to her brother. "You're getting much better, you're not as quiet as you used to be. You used to stutter around everyone, but now you can hold conversations with our class. That's a big step!"
She let out a small chuckle at him. "You're right, but it's not the last step. Now I just have to get used to crowds..." She then winced as she realized she would be out in public, with many people around.
"I can tell they're not your thing," The blonde gave a small knowing grin. "You can borrow my pogo stick if you want, that way you won't have to focus on being around them."
"No thank you, but I appreciate the offer, Melissa. I actually have plans for the tour."
"Hm?" Melissa blinked at the girl in confusion.
"See you two soon," Sam closed the door just as All Might started letting out smoke. He then coughed, getting his friend's attention.
"Hey! Are you alright, Toshi?" Once the smoke cleared, All Might was now Toshinori again. He was one of the select people who knew about All Might being Toshinori. However, he did not know the whole story.
"Thanks for catching it," Toshinori looked up at him, shaking. "The amount of time I can keep my muscle form has gotten even shorter."
"You said it was bad in your email, but...I had no idea it was this serious," David examined the man, who coughed. "Even that girl you were with noticed it as well, not even her own brother. She seems to care for you a great deal."
"That's just who she is..."
Meanwhile, Melissa was showing them the intricate buildings built on the island. "Holy whoa! This place is amazing! I can't believe the entire island is man-made, it's nuts!" Izuku gushed while Izuka glanced over her shoulder, gasping sharply as she saw a mascot and turned around.
"And there's normal city stuff. About everything you could need! The big downside is that we can't travel," She revealed to Izuku as the place was bustling with a bunch of people.
"Really? Why not?"
"The scientists and their families have to keep their work top-secret. That ensures there aren't any leaks. Huh?" She looked around for Izuka as she was nowhere to be found. "Hey, where's Izuka?"
Izuku gave a small knowing giggle, pointing past her. Melissa turned around and blinked to see Izuka sketching out the mascot while watching from a good distance. She had a beaming smile on her face, her cheeks flushed in excitement as well. Melissa approached her from behind, looking over her shoulder to see a quick sketch of the mascot already.
"Oh, that looks so cute!"
"Ahh!" Izuka hugged her sketchbook tight, turning around.
"Oh, I'm sorry, Izuka. But I didn't know you were an artist," Melissa rubbed her chin in thought.
"Umm, it's because I hide it from other people," She moved a bang away from her cheek in embarrassment. "Only my whole class knows, but I hardly let people see my art..."
"I think it's great that you're passionate about other things too besides being a hero," The blonde gave an encouraging smile. "Maybe someday I can see them? Do you plan on doing art as a side job when you become a pro?"
"Yes," Izuka nodded meekly to her.
"You should let her see, you're really talented!" Izuku encouraged and she let out a whine.
"Izukuuuuuu...!"
Melissa giggled at the twins and then waved it off. "She doesn't have to show me if she doesn't want to. I'm sure you know by now that you can't sketch any of the research or anything from the previews, but anything else goes!"
"Thank you..." Izuka mumbled before Izuku let out a sharp gasp, getting their attention.
"It's the monster hero, Godzillo!" He gushed at a hero so tall that he was taller than most of the buildings.
"Wow! I've only ever seen him on TV!" A fan gushed from behind.
"His Quirk is so insane!"
"Nice," Melissa walked up from behind. "I bet his sponsor flew him out here for the expo. They invite heroes to show off new gear and sign autographs. Looks like the events are in full swing!"
"This place is incredible!" Izuku beamed at all of the heroes walking around.
"There's so much going on that I'm not sure I can draw it fast enough...!" Izuka murmured in awe.
"A lot of the pro heroes will be at the big party tonight," Melissa informed the two. "Uhh...but I'm sure you two already knew about that, huh?" She gave a nervous smile. "I mean, since you two came all this way with Uncle Might."
Oh, so I guess that's why he told us to bring formal clothes. He looked away in thought. Glad we found some.
"Hey, Izuka. I have an idea," Melissa spoke up, bringing out a camera and holding it out to the girl. "You can use my camera. I'll put them on a flash drive you can take home with you so you can store them in your computer."
"Ahhh!" Izuka gushed a little and then waved her hands rapidly. "Wait, no, you don't need to go through all that trouble for me! And that's your camera, are you sure you wanna lend it to someone you just met?"
"I insist! I can tell you're pretty dedicated to your art," Melissa put the camera in her hands, to her shock. "So take all the pictures you can today, okay? Think of it as a thank you for looking after Uncle Might."
"...Thank you so much!" Izuka beamed up at the girl, who just smiled in return. She noticed something and ran towards it.
"Look! Over here!" Melissa then pointed to a building. "You two definitely have to check this place out! You can take a picture of this, Izuka."
"Um, do you mind if you be in the shot? I actually wanna draw a picture of you for lending me your camera," Izuka revealed, to the shock of the two. Melissa hummed and then held up two fingers while smiling.
"I don't mind at all! Ready when you are!"
Izuka held up the camera and then took a photo, smiling at how it turned out.
Once they were inside, Izuka put the camera away since they were items inside that she probably wasn't allowed to capture just yet. At least, not until the I-Expo was open to the public. "I've never seen so many new hero items in one place!" Izuku gushed from all the objects.
"I'm so glad that I at least got to see them," Izuka smiled a little while looking around.
"Deku, Izuka, look at this one!" Melissa pointed to a vehicle of sorts. "This multi-purpose vehicle can fly like a jet, of course, but it can also lean over underwater!"
"So cool!" Izuku exclaimed in excitement.
She then showed them a place where someone could swim deep into a big pile of water. "You can wear this diving suit and drop to 7,000 meters in the ocean!" She revealed to the two.
"So deep!" Izuku pressed his face against the window. Izuka took out her camera to snap a photo.
"This helmet is equipped with 36 different sensors," Melissa placed it over the boy's head as a bunch of images appeared. "You can see all the way around your body!"
Then a giant screen of his face appeared. "That's so much!"
Izuka put on the helmet herself, gasping a bit in excitement.
"You know...almost everything here was created using different inventions that Papa patented," Melissa revealed to the twins as other people enjoyed the displays.
"Wow! I bet you're proud of him," Izuku gushed while his sister turned to the girl with a small smile.
"You two seem really close too," She spoke up softly; she could see why All Might took on David as a sidekick and why Melissa admired both of them so much.
"These support items will help heroes around the world. Who knows how many people will be affected because of his hard work?" The blonde gave a fond smile of how much she had seen her father do over the years.
"Hm. I think it's great that your dad is someone you can look up to like this," Izuku spoke up with a small grin.
"He's a brilliant person. Heroes around the world will be satisfied with his work," Izuka smiled as well.
Melissa gasped a bit and then looked over her shoulder with a smile. "That's because it's my dream to become a scientist just like him!"
"Oh yeah? So does that mean you're training at the school here on the island?" Izuku wondered curiously as they were looking at another vehicle. Melissa turned to them and nodded with a slight hum.
"I'm a third-year."
"The I-Island Academy is where everyone who dreams of becoming a scientist wants to go! You must be a real genius!" Izuku gushed at the girl. Izuka gasped and looked down at the camera around her neck, her eyes shaking.
"I'm holding the camera of a genius...!" She murmured as she felt like she had to take extra good care of it now.
"Oh, no," Melissa shook her head rapidly. "I still got a lot to learn. Honestly, I should be studying much more..."
Izuku looked at his glove with a small smile. "I feel the same. If I'm gonna be a hero like All Might...I've got to train even harder!"
"And if I wanna be my own hero, I have to get strong with my Quirk! Like...other people I know," Izuka looked away bashfully, as Katsuki came to mind. And he honestly shouldn't have, but she couldn't deny that he was working hard.
"Uncle Might really holds a special place in your hearts, doesn't he, Deku? I still can't get over how much you were geeking out earlier!" Melissa gave an amused smile.
"Oh!" Izuku gasped and then rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah, sorry about that. I'm kind of a fanboy."
The two girls giggled at him in amusement. "But it seems like you had another person in mind. Someone from your class?" Melissa smiled towards Izuka, who flinched and turned away, a small blush on her face.
"N-no one! I didn't say anyone!" She denied quickly and Melissa giggled again.
I can tell it's a boy in her class, so I won't pry.
Suddenly, Ochaco appeared with a smile on her face. "Looks like you're having fun, Deku."
"Ah!" The twins turned around in surprise to see her. "Uraraka/Uraraka-Chan! What are you doing here?" They both asked her in unison.
"It looks like you're having fun," Ochaco forced herself to say this time.
"You said that..."
I wonder what she's doing here, though... Izuka blinked at the girl in confusion.
