"You guys aren't foolin' anybody!" One of the kids bragged to the five, and then the kids revealed their Quirks. "We're better than you, and we'll take you down to prove it!"
"Oh?" Katsuki smirked at the challenge. "Then bring it on. Let's have a proper fight," Everyone except Camie was ready to fight them off. In fact, she was looking at them like they were all crazy...
Someone fired a purple beam and Katsuki ducked, but it still managed to tear apart half his mask. He looked towards the floating orbs with mouths responsible. A kid with fanged teeth smirked towards them. "My Binging Balls'll make a feast outta you. Bet you didn't see that coming! These monsters are super fast and strong!"
A bunch of smoke went flying towards Shoto and he looked at it wide-eyed. He and Inasa braced themselves as it was a kid with a dust Quirk. "Assault Dust!"
"Those guys aren't gonna know what hit 'em!" One kid punched the air in excitement. "Come on, let's go!"
Shoto gently swiped the air in front of him. "A dust cloud..."
Izuka coughed a bit into her hand while looking back up ahead. They really underestimate us, huh?
"Viral Cosmos!" A girl with flowers on her head spun around, sending out a bunch of flower petals.
"Electromagnetic Bullets!" One kid shouted while sending out electricity.
"And King Slam!" A kid with a hammer swung his weapon.
"Hula Hoop Attack!" A kid threw a yellow ring.
"Go Tongue Tank!" A boy opened his mouth as it was a cannon and fired towards the group, creating a lot of smoke.
"Uh, what?" Present Mic stared up ahead as the smoke even reached his area. "Kids these days are stupid strong!" The group of kids looked confident even though they couldn't see the five yet. Ms. Ikoma looked up ahead very worried for the trainees, tears in her eyes. "How is this even possible, huh? Back when I was their age, I was just learning how to get my yell working. Having this much power when you're just a tyke should be illegal!"
Seiji stepped forward, hands behind his back. "Allow me to explain. As the generations pass...Quirks combine and become more powerful. Hypothetically, stronger, more complex Quirks may one day become too hard for anyone to control, especially untrained children." The three thought that he was actually making sense on this theory. "Quirk singularity doomsday. That's what they call this theory. These kids make me fearful that this is indeed our future."
Ms. Ikoma gasped sharply, covering her mouth. "I'm sorry! Please forgive me! It's all my fault," She was about to get up and check on the five when Present Mic grabbed her arm gently.
"Wait, don't leave now!" He smiled up at her encouragingly. "This jam is just gettin' started. Let's see how they react."
Once the smoke cleared, it was revealed that Izuka was floating the five on a giant floating yellow star. "Amazing!" Inasa exclaimed with a big smile towards her. All the kids looked up in disbelief, even the leader. "This is part of your Quirk?" He glanced at the ground below them.
"I always thought you were more of a fire girl to be honest," Camie glanced down at her in thought, tapping her chin.
"Uhh, okay?" Izuka blinked in confusion, glancing over her shoulder. "You guys alright?"
"We're fine, thank you. You can put us down now," Shoto informed the girl. Katsuki huffed a bit while looking away as Izuka lowered the star towards the floor. All of them jumped down off the platform.
"Gang Orca," One of the trainees looked towards the hero in concern. "Is this okay?"
"Okay? Why would you ask?!" He gave them an intense look, as he found it insulting that they would question his judgement. Plus, he played a part in arranging this. "Do you think I'm not paying attention? That this was unexpected and not the outcome I planned for from the very beginning?!"
Two girls yelped and looked away from his scary glare. "No, sir! Of course not! We're sorry!"
"These are aspiring young heroes," He looked up as the kids attacked again. Inasa, Shoto, Katsuki, and Izuka used their Quirks to defend themselves on a minor scale compared to usual fights. "They may be failures, but they can handle themselves."
"Pretty bold of them to attack without hesitation like that," Katsuki looked like he was getting fired up. "I'm almost impressed."
"I'm not," Izuka dusted herself off with her hands.
"They know that we're hero trainees," Shoto guessed correctly while staring at the group. "They likely feel they don't need to hold back against us."
"It's so sad!" Inasa had a tear in his eye as he didn't want to fight the kids. "I wanna be their friend...even if it wasn't part of our training!"
The other three stared at him before Izuka looked back up ahead. "Their Quirks are definitely great for hero material, but for acting out in class? Not so much."
"No way!" A boy murmured in a bit of shock, the other kids alarmed by the four as well. "They're not scared of our Quirks at all? Seriously?"
"They think they're better than us just because they're older," Their leader informed the group.
"Come on, everyone. Let's show 'em more of what we've got!"
"Leave it up to me!" A girl spoke up, gritting her teeth. "Queen Beam, shoot!" She fired off a heart projectile at Shoto from her forehead. It hit him and as the smoke was clearing, she could see his shadow.
"Hey..." Shoto suddenly put on a charming aura and face, his eyes shining as he looked towards the little girl. "Wow. You've got such a beautiful face, dear. Don't let that frown spoil the effect. And you're just captivating, Mido."
"Huh?!" Izuka flinched as her mouth was open, though notably, Katsuki wasn't getting mad over it. The little girl gasped while blushing at Shoto in awe...only for him to disappear and reveal Camie instead. The girl froze in shock as smoke blew off from Camie's lips.
"Sorry hon, just a little illusion for ya," She waved a playful finger, the little girl looking on in dismay. She couldn't even put it into words. Camie tapped her cheek in thought, looking away. "Wouldn't it be, like, so swoony though? Our school's mega old-fashioned and doesn't even allow us to go on dates. Ugh, it's just the worst."
Shiketsu High second year, Camie Utsushimi. Her Quirk: Glamour. She can create illusions for a short period of time. Abuse of this Quirk is prohibited!
Katsuki covered his mouth with his hand to muffle his laughter. He then put on the same face that Glamour Shoto did. "You've got such a beautiful face, my dear. And you're just captivating, Mido." His teeth even shined a little before he continued laughing. "That killed me, Glamouroki! Seriously, I might die! And captivating? Seriously?" Katsuki chuckled and Izuka whined, holding her face while blushing. Although part of her didn't know if he was laughing for her reaction or because of that word being used to describe her. "There were plenty of other things to say!"
"Oh?" Shoto rubbed his chin in confusion as he didn't get it. "I dunno, was it really all that funny? And why is that word funny to describe Mido? She's a strong fighter and a great friend."
"Now I might die just out of pure shame and embarrassment," She whined towards them.
"Anyway!" Inasa grinned towards the three. "Let's do the thing we were talking about before, guys!"
The leader scratched at his face, looking a little nervous. You idiots think you know so much! But I outshine adults at everything! He looked up ahead as the five were gathered in a huddle. Piano, fighting; it doesn't matter! I'm a prodigy! I see the heroes who get in trouble every day on TV! And the police! Then there's our weepy teacher. Even one of them was on TV more times than not! He gritted his teeth at Izuka, since she had been on the news 4 times. You're all completely hopeless compared to me! To us! We'll show you that we can use our powers better than you ever even imagined! Just watch!
He looked up with a gasp as a bunch of wind appeared. All the kids yelled in surprise as they were lifted up into the air, along with some of their items. The leader looked up at them in confusion, wondering what was going on.
"You kids are amazing, I'll give ya that," Inasa smiled as he was the one responsible. "Thing is, there's more to heroing than just power!" He then touched the ground, his cape blowing. "Here I go!"
"Right," Shoto prepared himself as well.
"It's so lame that we can't do this outside," Camie closed her eyes. "Ugh, whatevs," She then blew some smoke out of her mouth, and it caused the atmosphere to change to the Northern lights. Ms. Ikoma gasped in awe as she looked up, and the entire ceiling was engulfed by the lights. Shoto then created a big play structure with his ice, having used some of the kids' items to make it.
A kid yelped as he tried to keep his balance and was unable to. He then fell towards the bunch of ice. Toshinori and Endeavor looked impressed as well as the boy was going down a slide made out of ice. He had his eyes squeezed shut before he opened them and laughed happily, going through big yellow rings. Shoto then shot out a flame and threw it. A little girl giggled in awe as the rings were now on fire.
"Amazing!"
Izuka jumped up into the air, spinning a star above her head. "Star Burst!" It shot off into the sky and fireworks appeared soon after. She landed in a crouch, standing up with a small smile as she placed her hands on her hips.
"Ohhh, so cool!" Another boy gushed as he looked up.
Ms. Ikoma gasped at the sight and Present Mic whistled at the sight. The kids were all laughing and cheering at the slide. Shoto and Inasa used their Quirks to maintain the play area.
"Whoa, what?" A boy couldn't close his mouth. "I didn't know these guys could do this! And she can make fireworks?!"
"What the heck did they do to this place?" A girl huffed before she gushed. "I'm loving it!"
"That's so amazing!" Camie smiled towards Izuka continuing to fire off her fireworks. "What else can you do?"
"I wanna see more too!" Izuka blinked in confusion down at a crowd of kids running up to her.
"Yeah, show us something else cool!"
"Eh?" She flinched and gave a look of awe, her eyes shining happily. "I'm...cool?"
Katsuki then looked up towards Izuka, who was explaining her interests and a small firework to the kids. She looked much happier than she did before she came here...he gave a tiny smile at the sight. Shoto smiled towards her too.
"I can't make complex structures out of my ice yet...so I used the objects you made as a frame for my design," Shoto explained as he stared up ahead. "Fortunately, you have some amazing powers."
"Hey, I wanna do it too! No fair!" Some kids surrounded him as well.
"I wanna try the slide!"
"Sure. Line up," Shoto told them and Izuka walked up, one on her back as her crowd was still surrounding her.
"Alright, alright!" She chuckled while gently pushing some to the slide. "I'll make a cool firework but you've gotta get on, okay? Pay attention, though!"
"Awesome!"
"Can you make one a dragon?"
"Or a flower!"
Katsuki stared at Izuka before hearing the playing kids. He glanced over their shoulder to see them having a good time.
"All we gotta do is show these brats how impressive we are. Cause, come on. Lose to someone you look down on and you feel like crap. That's not the way we're gonna win their hearts or whatever."
"Hm?" Izuka blinked at him in bewilderment, wondering where that came from. "Well, he has a point. If we keep fighting them like this, then we're not teaching them anything. And maybe if they realize how to use their Quirks properly, it can help their teacher. What kind of example-"
"Do you have to do that just because Deku isn't here?!" Katsuki interrupted in a bit of annoyance and she gave him an apologetic look.
"We have to set them on the right path," Inasa narrowed his eyes, thinking about what the twins did during his fight with Shoto during the provisional license exam. And how he let his anger towards the boy cloud his judgement during that part enough to fail... "Otherwise, they'll end up causing problems later on. The same way I did during the provisional exam. I don't want them to go down that same path!" He then looked up towards Shoto.
The boy hummed and looked up with a small smile. "Yeah. If we can't broaden their horizons, then what's the point? We'd make bad heroes."
Inasa walked up to Shoto with a small smile. Shoto gave a tiny smile as he felt like working together with someone who used to hate him was a step in the right direction.
"Playing instead of attacking," Seiji pointed out as the three adults were in awe. "In order to create a bond between them without breaking anyone's spirit."
"Rockin' use of your Quirks, you guys," Present Mic smiled in approval. "I was startin' to sweat."
Katsuki then approached the leader of the kids, who looked up in alarm. "You too. Get in there and have some fun," He grabbed the boy by the wrist.
"What are you doing?! Get your hands off of me!" He demanded while trying and failing to get his wrist back. "You think I'm impressed by this?!"
"You're their leader, aren't you, kid?" Katsuki pointed out, earning a baffled look in return as...the usually angry blond didn't look that way right now. In fact, he seemed more understanding than anything. "If you keep looking down on everyone else...you'll never be able to see your own weaknesses." The boy faltered a little from this as he didn't know what to make out of it... "That's just some advice from one of your elders, so don't forget it," He looked away while recalling something from a while back. "Because the person who told me this..."
Izuka finally glanced back at Katsuki during the attack at camp. "If you keep up this superiority complex up of looking down at people, your own faults become more and more apparent."
The other boys all stared as he shook with anger, seething.
Katsuki let out a heavy sigh, closing his eyes. "...She...actually knows what she's talking about," He admitted and the boy looked up at him in confusion. "Even though she's a pain sometimes, she has things I respect."
The little boy blinked up at him, wondering who he was talking about...
"Hey, Baldy! Todoroki! Izuka!" Katsuki called out as Izuka used her fingers to make the fireworks. She turned around to him and the leader boy's eyes widened as he realized Katsuki was talking about Izuka.
"I'm not bald!" Inasa protested towards Katsuki, but used his wind to lift up the boy in the air. He was bracing himself, thinking back on what he had heard.
What he said just now...he wasn't talking down to me. But...did he really mean all that? Yes. I think he did. His words...I can feel how true they are. He felt honestly humbled by what Katsuki had said, and it changed his opinion a lot now. And I can see that even though he's violent...he has someone that he cares about a lot.
Some of the kids paired off to talk to the five on their own. "Next, let's all work together," Inasa smiled down at his group. "We'll make something even more amazing! How about an exploding roller coaster?!"
"Yeah!" Several boys exclaimed in excitement.
Shoto looked over to them. "That's not gonna happen."
"My problem children," Ms. Ikoma covered her mouth in shock to see her students like this... "What's going on here?"
"After this, it's your turn, ma'am." She looked towards Present Mic in confusion as he was smiling. "Make sure you keep this vibe goin'."
"...Right," She bowed her head in agreement, truly grateful.
"Why is it so important to be the strongest?" Toshinori wondered to Endeavor as they continued watching. "Tell me, Endeavor." The hero was looking at Shoto specifically as he was making a flame from his hand. "I'm sure you have a reason. So what is it?"
For once...Endeavor couldn't say anything while Shoto smiled. Izuka looked up as a kid was sitting over her neck and she beamed, waving up at Toshinori. He smiled and waved back, proud of her work today. And he was glad that she had something to take her mind off of the Shie Hassaikai raid.
"Work together and win the hearts of those children," Gang Orca recited while some of the boys actually gave Katsuki his gauntlets back as an apology. The girls who were looking down at Camie were actually more positive towards her now. One was even putting a braid in Izuka's hair while Ms. Ikoma apologized to Shoto and Inasa, but they waved it off. "You did a good job despite having such vague instructions."
"Wait, so you did that on purpose?!" Katsuki, Inasa, and Izuka all exclaimed in unison.
"The rest of you also did well," Gang Orca bowed his head a little. "Remember everything you learned today. And keep working. You students have so much potential—uh..." He faltered as he realized that he was praising them. "I mean, don't you dare fail!"
"Sir, yes, sir!"
"He's actually a big softy who loves kids," Present Mic smiled knowingly, pointing at Gang Orca. "This is just for show."
The sun was setting while the five were walking down the hall after class was over. Izuka walked up ahead in front of the group with a smile on her face. Behind her was Katsuki, Shoto, Inasa, and then Camie. "After what we put together in there, I think we're meant to be friends, don't you?" Inasa smiled at Shoto, who glanced back at him. "Our Quirks just work so well together."
"You think so?"
"Yeah," Camie looked up in thought, a finger on her chin. "And Bakugo, you're actually not bad if you don't talk. Try shutting up!" She looked past the others.
"You shut up!" Katsuki retorted back to her, gritting his teeth. Shoto then looked up ahead at his friend, noticing her change in mood.
"You seem to be much happier than before, Mido," He pointed out to her, earning a small hum.
"Mido?" Inasa glanced at the boy. "You said that before too."
"She and her brother are twins in our class, so we call her that to tell the difference between them," Shoto explained and she glanced back sheepishly.
"Well, it's just...I've been through a lot lately that I wasn't sure how today was gonna go. I haven't even talked about it in full detail to anyone. But...I don't know, something just felt right being able to get through to them," She scratched her cheek with a small smile. "Even after everything I've had to experience in the past week or so."
"We're sorry for our classmate. He tends to get too cray-cray sometimes," Camie spoke up from behind.
"It's okay. I have the support of all my friends and Izuku," She stated and then turned back around.
"I'm glad you're feeling better. If you need anything, just let me know," Shoto stated, gesturing to himself. "Our classmates and myself will help."
"Thank you, Shoto," Izuka smiled while looking back, still walking with them. "But if it's okay, there's someone I wanna turn to first. I think I've kept him waiting long enough."
Katsuki looked up in a bit of alarm to hear this from her, since she hadn't been too forthcoming with him about it before now. But he hoped that soon, she realized that she could trust him. The crying Izuka that held onto him when she returned...he wanted to see it only so everything would be out of her system easier, not just solely for a sign that she wanted to confide in him.
"Heh," He smirked to himself in a bragging way that he came first and not Shoto. Take that, Todoroki.
The two then stepped out into the open. "Sounds good." The group gasped as they looked up ahead. Toshinori and Present Mic were talking to Seiji and the Shiketsu teacher. "We'll also do whatever we can to help you."
"Ooh, what's going on, Shishikura?" Camie ran over curiously to them. "You schmoozing with All Might? Seriously, the Symbol? What were you talking about? Like, hero stuff or what?"
She reminds me a lot of Hado, now that I think about it. But this just goes to show that something did happen for her to act like that...it just doesn't add up to me Izuka stared at Camie attentively while trying to figure out what happened during the test.
"We were talking about you, fool!" Seiji shouted towards his classmate.
"For realzies?" Camie recoiled back in surprise. "That's sweet."
"The reality is that by attacking you, the League went after a school other than UA," The teacher explained and Izuka flinched from the answer. "Up until now, our schools haven't had an especially close relationship with each other. But we were talking about coordinating in the future for the sake of sharing information. We still don't know why you were targeted, Miss Utsushimi. But hopefully together we'll get a better idea of what the villains want."
"Cray-cray," Camie remarked and once Izuka heard this, she became very pale. Because she realized that if Camie wasn't Camie, only one person from the League could've impersonated her.
"Additionally, this means we can organize joint training exercises someday," Seiji glanced over to Camie.
Katsuki and Shoto looked at Izuka, doing a double take as her arms went limp, causing her bag to fall onto the floor.
"The hell is wrong with you?" Katsuki walked up to the girl. "Oi, wake up, idiot!"
"What's wrong, Mido? You look like you saw a ghost," Toshinori approached his student and picking up her backpack.
"Or maybe she's feeling sick?" Shoto wondered as he eyed the girl who still didn't react.
They just said the League attacked her, right? Just like with Mr. Locklock during the Hassaikai raid. So if she wasn't herself during the provisional license exam, then that means I wasn't fighting with her, I was fighting with…
"Aaah!" Izuka screamed as she turned around, shaking. All of them looked ahead in utter confusion. "How did I—why did she…oh my god, I am living dead. She is going to kill me…"
"Stop muttering and speak up on what the hell you're saying!" Katsuki shouted in her ear. She gulped and turned around, pinching her fingers together awkwardly. Although she was going to demand from her brother why he didn't say anything about this to her. Since she didn't see 'Camie' naked like he did back then, that was why she never put it together when she saw Himiko again until now.
"I…I fought Himiko Toga when she was in disguise during the provisional exam…" She mumbled but they still heard it.
"…WHAT?!" Everyone exclaimed so loudly that her hair flew behind her head.
"What happened?! You didn't tell anyone this?" Toshinori held her shoulders, shaking her like a rag doll. "And you're still standing?!"
"I didn't even know it was her until today…!"
"...Well," The Shiketsu teacher coughed awkwardly. "I suppose the League made an exception after all..."
"Our Mido lives to tell the tale!" Present Mic grinned a little.
"I'm very sorry I was skeptical of you, Utsushimi-Chan!" Izuka bowed her head to Camie.
"We're totes cool, don't sweat it!" Camie gave her a two-finger salute.
Katsuki stared at her in bewilderment. Because one, she managed to survive it and managed to get blood from Himiko instead of the other way around. And two, she also did slap Shigaraki in Kamino. He kind of felt similar to how Izuku admired him right about now, but snapped out of it. "Next time, I'll beat you up one-on-one," He declared to Seiji.
Seiji glared at him, pointing at Katsuki. "You still behave and speak like a back-alley thug, you hoodlum! Remember your place!"
"You can't go around talking to people like that!" Izuka slapped his hand away, but he was unfazed by it.
"And you focus on your behavior as well, delinquent," He narrowed his eyes down at Izuka.
"Yeah, you don't get to be the one to tell me that, and you get to shut your fucking mouth around Izuka!" Katsuki growled and the girl dragged a hand down her face. She glanced between the two, feeling a bit uncomfortable.
"This is so awkward, haven't I been through enough today…?"
"Shoto." Izuka and Katsuki looked towards Endeavor talking with his son. "Long time no see. You've changed quite a bit."
"Not interested," Shoto smacked away Endeavor's hand just like Izuka did with Seiji.
Endeavor gave a deep frown and then recoiled back his hand. He understood why, but that did sting for him a little. "Shoto..." He put down his hand, Inasa staring at them. "I want you to know I'm proud of you, son." Shoto tensed up, frowning deeply as he didn't want it. "Because of that...I swear I'll become someone you can be proud of too. Not just as the number-one hero...but as the man that you call father."
Shoto gritted his teeth, looking away. "I don't care what you do."
Inasa could tell that the same problems he had with Endeavor...Shoto did too on a more personal level. And he couldn't believe that he compared the two when really, Shoto didn't care for his father that much either. He then punched himself in the face; for doing so just because the boy was related to Endeavor, and for not listening to Izuka when she tried to tell him the truth. Camie flinched in alarm, blinking in confusion. Inasa now had a bloody nose and mouth.
"Endeavor!" He ran up to the hero. "Just so you know, I'll be rooting for you!"
Endeavor smiled a little towards him. "Thanks a lot. Also...you're bleeding."
Progress is slow. For Endeavor. For these aspiring heroes Endeavor and the Shiketsu teacher bowed to each other. Inasa waved with a smile towards them as they left. Sometimes they come to a standstill. Sometimes, they have to look behind them. Shoto looked towards his father walking away...he didn't want to care, but he was a little interested in what his father was going to do. But...one step in front of the other...they keep moving forward. As he walked, Shoto had a small smile on his face.
Seiji kept a close eye on Izuka while she left with her classmates. She moved her arm behind her back, a small flame appearing from her hand. She then flicked it so that it burned his hat, to his horror. Katsuki and Shoto glanced back, not even needing to question what just happened. "I feel so much better," She gave a small smile of relief.
"Heh. You've got spunk for a shorty," Katsuki gave her a small smirk while Seiji shouted towards her, but they all ignored him.
"Don't remind me. I still feel a little sick hearing that Himiko Toga was Utsushimi-Chan the whole time during the exam," She placed a hand on her stomach weakly.
"…What you said to me during camp, about looking down on others." She gasped and looked up at him. "It really pissed me off. But…it wasn't stupid either. Do with that what you want." Izuka blinked in awe, her eyes glistening a little.
"Katsuki..."
"Hm? So you're saying that she was able to help?" Shoto looked over to the two curiously.
"No! Shut up! Why are you even getting involved?!" Katsuki yelled towards their classmate.
"Well, you did tell her someplace anyone could hear," The white/red haired boy stated simply, blinking. "Should I tell our classmates too?"
"Shut your damn mouth!"
Izuka giggled softly watching them. I'm glad you got something out of it, Katsuki.
Before we knew it, September was over, and fall was upon us. As the air outside began to grow colder, we tried to come to terms with everything we'd been through.
Ectoplasm was teaching math and everyone listened.
Honestly, diving right back into classes was kind of nostalgic in a way. It wouldn't be the first time that we fell back into a routine after a big event that some of us had to go through.
People gathered at a funeral home.
All Might and Mr. Aizawa took those of us who were involved in the Shie Hassaikai raid to Sir Nighteye's funeral.
I still had those passes Mr. Aizawa gave me the day I went back to special classes, so I used one to be able to go. I told Katsuki about it, and that I'd express my feelings on it a little bit after. He didn't protest this time, so it was better than testing his patience more than I already did.
The Big Three, Eijiro, the twins, Ochaco, and Tsuyu were all gathered in their UA uniforms. They all looked up ahead in silence while All Might paid his respects.
It was one last chance to say goodbye to him.
Even though I didn't get to know him as much as my brother did...I was still glad that they met.
Our teachers and the hero agencies talked about the work studies program. And they decided it would be best to put them on hold.
Fat Gum and Ryukyu looked down at their students, the former looking especially sad.
After everything, I think I speak for all of us when I say that it was understandable. To go right back into work studies after the crazy things that happened would've been too much...especially for Sir Nighteye's agency.
Mirio smiled towards Bubble Girl and Centipeder.
Nighteye's sidekick, Centipeder, took over his agency. He and Bubble Girl eagerly awaited Togata's return to their ranks.
He was fully recovered thankfully...but he was still Quirkless. Although it still didn't seem to bother him too much. At least he's still happy.
As for Eri...she regained consciousness and recovered...but she was still emotionally unstable and her Quirk could go out of control at any time. So the hospital had to take precautions, and she couldn't have visitors.
She was given a drink and a meal by a nurse, although her horn did look much shorter.
It's a little sad that we couldn't see her yet. I know that she wants to talk to my brother, Togata, and myself. But we'll have to be patient before that happens. And...we also heard that she had no family to return home to, so arrangements also needed to be made about where she would stay when she was out.
The nurse walked away while Eri stayed quiet, and...she didn't know how to feel now that the Shie Hassaikai was dead.
There was some progress, though. The doctors discovered that the horn on her forehead seemed to power her Rewind Quirk. As her fever went down, it began to shrink. Now it's little more than a bump. Which is a good sign.
Even though we can't talk to her...I'm glad that her power had calmed down. It saved our lives...but right now, it's still dangerous to mess with. I can't help but wonder what her life could've been like if she had control...my brother and I would wait to see what she could do in due time. Speaking about my brother...
Izuku walked up to the door about five minutes before classes started, looking up ahead and flinching. Izuka was glaring at him while leaning against the door and he yelped, wondering if something happened with Katsuki to get her this mad. Ochaco and Tenya looked very sorry for him as they tried to talk her out of this, to no avail...
"What's going on...?" Izuku asked carefully and she stood up straight, turning fully to him.
"Ochaco, Ida. Can you close the door, please?"
Both of them winced knowingly while Izuku was very confused. "Should we leave you two alone?" Ochaco glanced between the two.
"No, you should be witnesses. I won't be long anyway," She crossed her arms as Tenya turned around to close the door. Denki saw him though and blinked curiously.
"What's that all about…?" He murmured as he walked over.
"Dude, you shouldn't be spying on them!" Eijiro ran over to him. "What if it's—"
"A villain was that girl from Shiketsu and you didn't even bother telling me?!" Izuka yelled from outside, shocking everyone else besides Katsuki and Shoto. All of them immediately went over to the door to eavesdrop on them.
"I'm sorry!" Izuku cried out as he was in a fetal position, Izuka kicking at his back repeatedly but not enough to actually hurt him. And she looked just as pissed as Katsuki could get. "There wasn't any time to say anything, I didn't mean to keep a secret!"
"I fought her during the provisional license exam! Do you know how angry I was to have to hear it from somebody else, she could've killed me back there!"
"But she didn't and you managed to fight her off, even though you could've gotten into worse trouble for fighting! I'm just glad that she didn't kill you…"
"You still should've clued me in! It wouldn't have been hard! Hey sis, I know that it was Himiko Toga, not someone from Shiketsu that you managed to draw blood from!" As she said that last sentence, there was a large pow heard from the two and almost everyone winced. Katsuki was grinning from the display.
That's what he gets for not opening his mouth.
Minoru was holding his phone as he was recording everything for…his own reasons. "Mineta, delete that video now or you lose your hands!" Izuka threatened and he yelped, deleting it. The door was then flung open by Izuka herself. They moved out of the way as they watched her walk to her desk, not even bothered by the fact they were watching.
Remind me to never make Mido mad… Everyone else thought to themselves.
Mr. Aizawa walked in when class was about to start…and saw Izuku with a big head lump in the middle of it. He had his eyes closed in shame while Izuka had her arms crossed, still getting over her anger. Some of their classmates felt bad for them. "…Why do you have that on your head, Midoriya?"
"She found out that Himiko Toga was at the provisional license exam..." He muttered in pain and Mr. Aizawa flinched before giving a look of semi-understanding.
"I regret hurting my brother. Fighting Himiko I won't ever feel sorry for, though," Izuka simply said, Ochaco sweating awkwardly from her seat. It could've been way worse for Izuku...
Ectoplasm was writing on the board. "The equation isn't that difficult to solve. Calculate the definite integral," He then put down his chalk, turning back towards the class. "When you have an answer, raise your hand."
Denki felt drained while his head moved, and electricity was around him. Mr. Ectoplasm always gets so hardcore with this kind of stuff Kyoka thought to herself.
Denki's head then felt like it exploded and Eijiro looked at him awkwardly. "Start by carrying the yay..."
Fumikage glanced back at Momo looking stumped. Even Yaoyorozu is puzzled, and she's at the top of our class. Mathematics is truly a cursed subject.
Izuku was working hard though as he was writing at a fast pace. He rubbed his head in frustration, Shoto staring at him from his seat. The green-haired boy then raised his hand. "Midoriya!"
"107 over 14!"
"Incorrect!" Momo and Izuka then raised their hands, leaving Izuku embarrassed. "Yaoyorozu, Mido."
"107 over 28," Both of them answered in unison.
"That's right! Onto the next problem."
Izuku scratched at his head in frustration. Izuka smiled proudly of herself; she got the answer thanks to the studying that Ochaco and Momo helped her with—ESPECIALLY since she was behind thanks to being absent in several classes. And because Ochaco promised Mr. Aizawa she'd help her best friend study.
Minoru peeked from behind Izuku. "That was almost smart. Too bad you screwed up. Although we could ask your sister to help us study~?" He gushed towards the girl nearby. Katsuki growled as he looked towards Izuka reading her book.
"Go nuts, but tell Mr. Aizawa why," She simply replied without even looking up.
"Betrayal...!" Minoru cried out while Katsuki smirked towards Minoru in a threatening way.
Lunch was starting as Ochaco tilted her head at Izuku. Tenya was smiling towards him, and then glared at Katsuki because Minoru had a bandage over his nose. "You seemed really into that class, Deku," The brunette remarked curiously.
"Yes!" Tenya pumped up a fist. "I applaud the effort you and your sister are putting into your studies! However, before we feed our brains, we need to feed our bodies!"
"Mm-hm!" Izuku nodded up at them with a happy smile. He was much better compared to the past month or so, and his head bump had gone down at this point too.
"I hope that there's pork!" Izuka gushed as she stood up, drooling a bit.
"I'm starvi-"
Something was suddenly shoved into his mouth, and it was Yuga responsible. "Please. Have some fromage."
Izuku slowly looked over to him, and the other three were frozen as well by what was going on.
Aoyama was force-feeding me cheese. And little did I know...even stranger things were in my future.
No, I don't know why Aoyama was doing this, considering that he and Izuku barely talked. That wasn't the end of it, though...
Yuga winked and Izuku screamed, leaning back. "Where'd you even come from?!" The cheese then fell into his mouth. "Thank you..."
"This cheese is called Pont-I'Aveque. It's mild and perfect for snacking," He held out a napkin with more cheese to the twins.
"Oh! I'm good, still chewin' on the piece I already have in my mouth," Izuku denied, waving his hands. "Uh, but thanks anyway."
"And I'm too hungry to snack on cheese," Izuka gave an awkward smile, though in reality, she just wanted to leave and forget this happened...
"Why don't you come have lunch with us in the cafeteria?" Tenya offered the blond. "I've noticed you usually eat by yourself like Mido used to do, Aoyama."
"Non!" He held out his hands in denial. "Lunch Rush's food doesn't agree with my refined palate."
Yaoyorozu eats it just fine Izuka blinked at him in confusion, since Momo was there to offer her friend her favorite dessert when she was upset. So even though Momo was rich, her palate wasn't too picky. Yuga then had a plate of fancy food at his desk, as well as what looked like wine, but probably wasn't...hopefully.
"Well, to each their own, I suppose," Tenya waved a hand while the others were about to leave. "We're not going to force you. Now, time to eat."
They all walked away and Yuga savored his sip.
That was just the beginning.
Each time, it got weirder and weirder...
It was now nighttime as some dogs were howling at the full moon.
Katsuki was laying in bed, having called Izuka and he was listening to her talk about the Hassaikai raid. "It was just so crazy, Katsuki. I learned teleportation, I saw people die, and I could've died...it was just so much," She sighed, a hand on her forehead. "I don't even know what to make out of it..."
"Mm," His eyes faltered a little in understanding of why she cried at lunch now. "Knocking down that pervert wasn't enough. I should kill that villain for what he did."
"He's in prison, good luck," She chuckled a little, a small smile on her face. "But...thank you for waiting for me."
"I didn't do it for you," He scoffed, looking away with a blush. "...You're...welcome, though."
Izuka blinked and then closed her eyes with a soft smile. Thank god things were better between them now that she said what she needed to...
Almost every time I talk to her, she hides what she feels until I pry it out of her. I shouldn't care if she feels the same, but I can't help it. I need to know if she likes anyone, some extras are getting too close for comfort He looked away in annoyance as he thought of Tamaki or Shoto. "Hey, Izuka. You...you like anyone?"
"Huh?" She blinked in confusion, wondering if she heard it right, but she did. "Why?"
"Nothing. I mean, argh," He grunted in frustration with himself. "Just curious..."
"Yeah..." Izuka mumbled in a bit of embarrassment, but she also couldn't say it was him. And she really hoped he didn't ask who, because then she'd have to answer him at that point. "And it's someone from school, but-"
"I don't remember asking you who it was, I just...is it that half-and-half bastard?" He clutched at his blanket; he knew fully well that he put her through hell growing up. And that he didn't deserve her getting used to him. But...part of him didn't want to see her dating because then he wouldn't know what to do.
"Again with Todoroki, I thought we went over this," She dragged her hand down her face. "It's not him, he's just a friend. Since when did this have to be about my love life?"
"It's not, get your head straight. Goodnight, idiot," He huffed and she sighed slowly.
"Are you mad at me now?"
"What makes you say that?' He stopped before he could hang up.
"You're like this anytime you bring up a guy, and then you take it out on me. I can't handle that again after everything."
He paused as he laid back down after hearing her desolate voice, closing his eyes to let out a small sigh. He wasn't going to upset her...not when she sounded like that. "I don't trust anyone around you that has the same mindset as that grape-headed pervert. Deku I only have to because he's your brother. Does that clear things up so we can both get some freakin' sleep?"
She hummed with a small smile over his protectiveness. After hearing that...she felt like liking him was something she could justify. "Yeah. I'll see you tomorrow, Katsuki. Thanks again for listening..."
"Yeah, yeah," He muttered before hanging up, his hands behind his head as he looked at the ceiling. "...I'll always listen," He said to himself before falling asleep.
Aoyama definitely made an impact anytime he spoke or, did anything, really. But it was always pretty hard to tell what he was thinking.
He was the exact opposite of Tsu, since she was more blunt so we didn't have to question it. I'll admit, I don't talk to Aoyama that often, but I know that he tends to bring more attention on his appearance than what he was feeling.
Footsteps walked onto a balcony and touched a window. It was Yuga himself as he was looking into Izuku's window for some reason...he smiled to himself as he stared at Izuku sleeping, keeping an eye on him.
But at last, he was showing his true colors.
Yuga looked hella creepy outside and he bent down to leave something...and then left. Izuku's All Might clock ticked before Izuku revealed that he was awake. As soon as he felt Yuga's presence, he had pretended to be asleep.
What the heck is going on? He sat up in alarm, taking off his blanket. That was Aoyama, right? But why was he on the balcony? He looked towards the window in a panic. He was just standing there, staring. I didn't imagine that, right? What should I do? He held his head as he couldn't understand what just happened. I mean, his room is next door, so he could've walked down the hall if he needed something! Even if he woke up Izuku by knocking, it would've been better than looking through his window! Should I go talk to him? What would I even say? "Hey, Aoyama, were you just being creepy?" He went up to the window, gripping the curtain. No. Calm down. I'm sure there's a logical... He opened up the curtains, and looked down in confusion.
On the ground was a big blanket...with cheese on top. It spelled out a message and Izuku gasped in fear.
Midoriya. I know.
He opened his mouth in horror. Cheese!
And it didn't stop there. Yuga crawled onto Izuka's balcony after finding her room, looking through her turquoise blue curtains. He smiled towards her as well, staring at the girl as her eyes were closed. Just like Izuku though, she was pretending to be sleeping.
Yuga left something on her balcony and then disappeared. Izuka's alarm clock in the likeliness of an easel ticked before she looked up at the ceiling wide-eyed, laying there for what felt like minutes.
"...Aaah!" Izuka finally reacted by throwing off her blanket and looking out the window. She panted while staring and wondering what the heck that was all about. I'm not going crazy, right? That was Aoyama out my window! But he knows he's not supposed to be on this side of the dorms, so why did he still come up here? And how did he even get up here, he's 2 floors down! Unless it's like with Tamaki, that he likes me? But Aoyama-San is too obsessed with...well, himself and twinkling to think about another girl like that. And I hope it's not like that, because I already am not a fan...Mineta is already bad enough!
She then looked down to see the cheese in the same message Izuku had. "Uh..." She faltered as she read it. "Is that cheese? And...I know...? Doesn't he know a simple text works?"
Katsuki threw the door open and she moved her curtains quickly as she turned around to him wide-eyed. "I heard screaming, what the hell happened?!"
"Uhhh..." She stared at him in bewilderment that he immediately woke up and rushed over asap that she didn't even know how to respond.
The next day...
"Do not run in the hall!" Tenya shouted while rolling his arm. He and Ochaco were standing outside the classroom. "But do move your legs as quickly as possible!" He urged while Ochaco jumped up and down in encouragement. The twins speed-ran and then slid to a stop, as they were almost late to class today.
"And safe! Whew!" Ochaco sighed in a bit of relief.
"Only one minute to class!" Tenya warned them both. "You two barely made it. And are you getting enough sleep lately? I see those dark circles! And Mido, your hair is unkept!"
"You're right," Izuku bowed his head a little. "Sorry, Class Rep!"
"I am too, I didn't have time to fix it..." Izuka reached out to her slightly messy hair.
Izuku walked in, and saw the reason why neither of them were barely on time. Yuga was staring at the doorway and kept his eyes on the boy the whole time. "Surprise," He gave a wink, and both of them were very afraid.
There he was. I was so weirded out by the cheese last night, I couldn't sleep.
Ochaco placed a comforting hand on her friend's shoulder. "Come over to my desk, Mido, Momo and I will fix your hair for you."
"Thanks..." She murmured gratefully, keeping her eye on Yuga while walking past him. He's acting like nothing happened, which is crazy. Should Izuku and I talk to Mr. Aizawa about this? No, we would need actual proof...
Katsuki glanced up at Izuka, noticing her gaze on Yuga and giving a suspicious look. After she woke him up, he was confused by the cheese and then told her to talk to him if it happened again. She didn't mention her classmate's behavior or that he did it, though. All she said was that something scared her, but she wasn't specific. Although she would tell him later...
I've never really talked to Aoyama that much Izuku thought while Midnight walked past him. Minoru was sleeping, probably dreaming about the teacher. Katsuki was reading while neither Izuku or Izuka could pay attention. He doesn't go out of his way to socialize. He's more of a free spirit. Someone who always says whatever's on his mind. Midnight then turned around and hit Minoru with her whip. At least, I think that's right. I wonder if something's going on with him. If so, it's probably not a good idea to ask him while everyone else is around Izuku stared towards Yuga, who kept his eyes forward. I don't wanna make him feel awkward, especially if it ends up being something personal. Although, I can tell that he did the same thing to me with Izuka, and that's...a little concerning. I'll have to question him about that.
Denki looked down at his phone once class was over. "Hey whoa, Mineta! Take a look at this," He showed his phone to the short classmate.
"Is it X-rated?"
"Suitable for children," Denki responded as it was a photo of Mt. Lady working together with Edgeshot and Kamui Woods. "Mt. Lady and Edgeshot have teamed up! Kamui Woods is gonna be joinin' em too!"
"Mt. Lady," Minoru looked at the picture in longing. "So big. So hot..."
"I think they're going by Team Lurkers," Kyoka spoke up from behind. "I saw it mentioned in the news earlier."
"There sure are a buncha heroes teaming up these days."
Minoru held his head, looking up. "My sexy giantess is getting famous!"
"Once we're pros, we should do some team-ups too!" Mina smiled while looking over her shoulder. She was in the doorway while hugging her case. "Here's an idea! You can make me float, Mido can teleport me, and we can make acid rain!"
"Sounds intense," Ochaco remarked while following her.
"I don't wanna strain my teleportation like that," Izuka smiled awkwardly; she hadn't even used it on other people either.
"Ooh, hey, and Sero can use his tape to help fly me around through your stars!" Mina gushed, having ignored Izuka.
"Huh?" Hanta overheard as he and Kyoka walked up. "What're you talking about?"
"Koda and Shoji and Jiro will be the scouts," Mina turned around to them. "Oh, oh! We'll be called Team Rainy Day!"
"Woo-hoo," Kyoka sarcastically pumped a fist.
"What about us?!" Denki and Minoru shouted in protest.
"Don't need you!" Mina told the two, to their disappointment.
"You can't just look at Quirks when you're teaming up," Momo spoke up nearby. "You have to choose people you get along with too."
"I think you're making it worse," Toru couldn't help but feel a little bad...only a little.
"Everyone should be moving toward the gym now!" Tenya ordered, raising a hand. "Get yourselves into your costumes!"
"Alright, class," Cementoss announced while they were at Gym Gamma. "Today, we'll continue working on your ultimate moves. If you haven't found a second ability, focus on finding one. If you already have two, then work on refining them until they're flawless."
"Unbreakable!" Eijiro got into his ultimate hardening form.
"Ooh!" Mina smiled towards him, as he hadn't debuted it to the class until now.
Just you wait, Rappa! I'll become a man who doesn't flinch at the sight of someone like you! I'll train by taking continuous, powerful hits like yours. So... He then bent down his back. "Bakugo, Sato, Midoriya, Mido! Please use me as your own personal punching bag!"
"Dude, that sounds super weird," Rikido looked at him wide-eyed.
"Sorry," Izuku responded, pressing his hands together. "Doing some solo work today."
"And I'm uncomfortable doing that to you, Kirishima," Izuka stated, startling Rikido and her brother for her not using honorifics. Several other classmates stared at her as well before smiling, deciding to silently accept it. Because it meant that she considered herself close enough with them to do so.
"That's okay," Eijiro stood up straight.
Katsuki shouldered Izuku as he walked past. "So, you made any progress yet?"
Izuku gasped from the question, knowing what he was referring to. "...No, not really," He admitted to the blond dejectedly. Izuka looked up with a small frown, rubbing his back.
"What's the matter, nerd? I thought you were gonna surpass me and be number one. I don't want Izuka holding back either," He remarked as he walked off. "Kirishima! Let me Howitzer you."
"Bring it!" Eijiro challenged back at him.
"Whoa, no way!" Rikido exclaimed in disbelief that Katsuki was going through with it. "You'll blow up the entire building!"
Kacchan is right. When I really focus, I can use up to 20 percent of my Quirk. But that still wasn't enough to beat Chisaki. He frowned at his hand, remembering when he got stabbed. I need to be able to use 100 percent of One for All without any help. Otherwise, I won't be able to win or save anyone!
Once again, he's got a point. I need to be faster with my movements, otherwise I'm open for attacks. And I need to be more confident Izuka bit her lip while looking away. I don't know if I even should continue being scared or upset of things that I can't control on my own...
"Hey," They both blinked as they looked up to see Yuga nearby. He was staring at them again, and leaning on a rock. Both of them whimpered a little, wondering what he wanted this time. "Watch this." His laser powered up and then made a hole in the rock. "My new move, the Navel Buffet Laser!" Smaller lasers then came out of his shoulders.
"Oh..." Izuku mumbled while Izuka was a bit creeped out.
"Okay...?"
"Feast your eyes," Yuga powered up his laser, giving a sound of pain as he grunted. He kept this up while moving around to write something, sighing. He had written out something in French on the rock, and then he bent down in pain. "When I do this, my tummy always starts hurting..."
"Then why did you show us just now?!" Izuku yelped towards him in alarm.
"Aoyama is seriously freaking me out..." Izuka murmured in a bit of fear while staring at the display.
"Mr. Cementoss, Aoyama isn't feeling well," Izuku called out to the teacher. "Can I take him to go rest?"
"Go ahead."
He looked towards his sister, who shook her head rapidly. She'd let him handle it, she still was getting over Yuga being outside her window.
Izuku guided the boy over towards the exit, both of them coming to a stop. Izuku then realized that they were technically alone. Just the two of us. If I'm going to ask what's up, now's the time! "Um," He started off hesitantly, because he didn't know how this would end up. "So, you were on my balcony, and Izuka's too. And then..." He remembered the message in cheese. "The whole I know thing. What did you mean?"
"That I know your Quirk isn't compatible with your body. And that was why Mido never used her own until you had to convince her," He simply stated, earning a sharp gasp from Izuku. He really hoped Yuga didn't figure out that he had All Might's Quirk... "Which means...you're like me."
Aoyama. What are you talking about? He had no idea what it meant. "...You think so? But how?"
Yuga kneeled a bit while Izuku stepped away from him. "I've had to wear this support belt, ever since I was un petit garcon. The truth is...if I don't wear it, then sometimes my Navel Laser just leaks out," He looked down at his stomach, sparkles coming from the belt. "I was born that way," He then looked up at Izuku. "You see...my body wasn't made to handle my Quirk. That's what the doctors said. When you and your sister first started at UA, you couldn't control your power at all. She had little control herself, despite the fact that her body could handle her Quirk. I remember. I've always thought we were similar. And now...ever since the work study, you seem to be even more impatient to succeed than before. And she's slowly gotten over her shyness, but wants to continue pushing."
"Yeah, I guess so," Izuku agreed; his drive in math class was a good indicator of that.
"Aren't surprises the best?" Yuga then stood up, sparkling. "Honestly, I think they make me happier than anything! That's why I left the message, to raise both of your spirits! Did it work? Was the cheese delicious?"
"I didn't exactly want to eat it off the ground, and Izuka didn't take it that way!" Izuku answered, holding up his hands a bit awkwardly.
"If we can't overcome the things that bring us pain, then you won't be able to twinkle, mon ami!" Rikido and Katsuki were currently beating on Eijiro.
I thought he was being creepy...but he just wanted to encourage me Izuku stared at Yuga in shock; he must've been upset for Izuka having to hide her power because she didn't want her relationship with her brother to change if she used it. Izuku then gave a happy smile. "Know what, you're right. And your surprise was a huge success. Thanks, Aoyama! Although I suppose I can't tell Kacchan about you doing it for encouragement when it comes to my sister. He can be really protective of her," He gave a slightly scared look.
"...Oui," Yuga himself looked terrified of what Katsuki could do to him if he found out. "Please don't tell him..."
"I'll tell Izuka to ease him into it, maybe it'll be better coming from her only," Izuku rubbed his neck, and then noticed Yuga kneeling over. "Um, are you okay?"
There was then a squeak heard from Yuga. "...It came out," He was referring to his Navel Laser...
And so...
"Try this pastry!" Yuga displayed it to Izuku while he was getting his laundry. Denki and Mina were nearby brushing their teeth.
"Yeah, sure! Izuka, come try one!"
"Twinkles, you've been, like, so cheerful lately," Mina pointed out as Izuka walked over. Yuga just looked proud of himself.
That's the story of how Aoyama, Izuka, and I became friends.
As for Katsuki...I'll tell him when he's in a good mood. Which is probably never and for the best...
