Angel: Someone asked for more interactions for Izuka with Momo, Ochaco, and Nejire...I mean, the first two are already her best friends, and I don't know what else I could give when there's over 120 chapters of content for her friendships with 2 people in her class XD As for Nejire, she's a third year, so it's not impossible. But at the same time, she doesn't regularly hang out with Izuka as much as Momo and Ochaco. Plus she doesn't tend to be a big focus in the anime.
And then I got asked my favorite endings, which is just as hard as openings to pick and choose from. I can say my least favorites are easier to pick from. I'm not too keen on Update or Shout Baby. Update just...to me, doesn't fit the more serious tone from the arc of the first half of season 3, gives me tone whiplash when I'm watching All Might's identity get revealed and then...moves onto a poppy upbeat song. That's probably just a me thing though. And then Shout Baby I liked, but the more I listened to it, the less I liked it.
As for my favorites, I'll pick another top five: The second one from season 2, the latest one from season 7, About a voyage, Sketch, and...the first ending from season 7 are my favorites. However, Long Hope Philia, and the second one from season 5 are also high up for me. The others I like too, but they aren't my absolute favorites. Once again, do not make me choose because they're all great. And once again, tell me your favorite endings if you want to.
"You want to use hero course students, in places where pros aren't available?" Principal Nezu questioned while standing next to Toshinori.
"So they'd all be working as heroes, without any immediate supervision?" Toshinori was also a bit concerned as well. The Heroes Public Safety Commission had called them over for this meeting, and the two faculty members were definitely not on board for it...
"Yes," Mera answered the both of them. "After all that's happened, superhero society's been thrown into chaos," He then glanced up at Toshinori. "As you're aware...our number one hero and Symbol of Peace is effectively retired. Because of that, villains have been gaining in power..." He thought of the League of Villains specifically. And even without them, there was the Hassaikai raid.
"And in order to face them...we need to begin training the next generation of heroes in earnest," Principal Nezu guessed correctly where Mera was going with this.
"The top brass at the Heroes Public Safety Commission believe it's imperative that we do. I'm sure you have questions and concerns, but whatever they are...I hope you cooperate," He informed, Toshinori still a little unsure...but what Mera said implied that there was no way out of this. The hero course students would be required to do it.
"Hero Work Recommendation Project," Mr. Aizawa informed his students the next day, showing them Nabu Island. "You'll be stationed here, on Nabu Island in southern Japan," He then glanced back at his 21 students. "Seems their previous hero and residents got old and retired. So the lucky people of Nabu Island will have to depend on you till a permanent successor arrives."
Almost everyone stood up in excitement upon hearing this. "We're gonna be doing real hero work?!"
Everyone erupted into excited chatter and cheers. "This is so amazing, you guys!" Mina gushed, pumping up her fists.
"Oh, let's go!" Denki shouted from his seat. Among the few that weren't cheering were the twins and Katsuki. In fact, they looked more serious about what this meant for them. This project would be something they would look back on during their path of becoming heroes...
'This isn't an internship or a work study. We're talking about the real thing...becoming a hero has been my dream since I was little. And now, it's happening...' Izuku thought, as he had been wanting something close to it since they started UA.
Izuka hummed a bit while lost in thought. 'The sights would be beautiful, but I doubt I'm gonna be able to draw them all. I'll have to use my phone if I can during hero work. I can't believe this is real...'
"I wasn't done talking yet," Mr. Aizawa's eyes flashed red as his hair lifted up, looking pissed. "Quiet down!" As soon as he said that, everyone was immediately silent, though still eager to hear him out. "Better. While you're there, you'll be completely on your own. No teachers to help you or pros to back you up. You're responsible for everything that happens, good or bad. Keep that in mind, and behave as heroes should at all times. Understood?"
"Yes, sir!" They chimed in unison, though were still excited despite getting him angry.
And so, for the past couple of days or so, that was what they had been doing for Nabu Island. Fumikage flew around using Dark Shadow, looking out to the beach and grass. He was listening in on his phone while Mashirao gave him a status report.
In the shopping center, the twins, Kyoka, and Ochaco were asking around about the lost little boy. The woman had to think about it before the four waved to citizens nearby. The four then ran off together.
Out on the roads, there was a landslide of rocks no one could get through. Yuga used his laser while Mina used her acid to help get the rocks out of the way. An explosion occurred, the rocks completely gone. The two posed for the cheering crowd behind them.
Tenya sped past a farm, the farmer waving to him as he was helping Ms. Sato by carrying her on his back.
At the harbor, Eijiro was tying cargo, to the gratefulness of a man and his family. Eijiro showed off his hardening, and the baby cried. This caused the red-haired boy to panic...
Denki was helping Mr. Matsuda with his tractor, juicing up the battery until the machine was operational again. The man looked down at Denki with a thumbs up and smile, earning one back.
Momo created a wrench from her arm, fixing up a scooter outside a woman's home. She walked up to Momo gratefully with a snack and drink.
Kyoka planted her earphone jacks into the sand to listen for the lost boy. The twins and Ochaco looked down at her patiently. She flinched and pointed to the right, and they all took off together.
"Mahoro!" The little boy called out at a small playground that looked over the beach. It was the same one that saw the heroes with his sister, with the sun hat. "Where are you, can you hear me?" He looked around for the girl. "Come on, Mahoro-"
"Katsuma!" He heard Izuku call out to him, and he looked towards the staircase in bewilderment. The twins had just arrived, Izuka flying on her star as Izuku ran up. "Hey there, is your name Katsuma Shimano?"
The little boy blushed in a bit of awe to see them. "Uh, heroes..." He murmured happily at the duo. Izuka came to a stop, smiling down at him. Izuku bent down with a gentle smile on his face.
"You got separated from your big sister, right?" He then reached out his hand. "Come with us."
"Don't worry, we're here to help. Where did you last-"
"There you are!" A little girl who looked similar to Katsuma slid down the slide, pouting. "It's about time!" Once she stood up, she pointed up at the two accusingly. "What's your deal, slowpokes?!" She demanded from them both. The two yelped and Izuka fell off her flying star, landing with a thump.
"Ow..." She muttered in a bit of pain.
"Hey, my name's Deku and that's Callista, my sister!" Izuku stated quickly while the short green-haired girl got onto her feet, rubbing her side. "Um...you are...?"
The little girl put down her arm, looking displeased with them. "I'm Mahoro, Katsuma's older sister!"
"Uh!" Izuku blinked down at her in bewilderment while Izuka raised a brow. "Oh...I guess you found him before we even got here, huh? Ha ha, lucky!"
"You sure it's just luck?" Izuka questioned, looking at him curiously. She was starting to think that the two did this on purpose, but didn't understand why.
She gave both of them a glare. "You explain yourselves! You were looking for him for over an hour! What took you so long?" She showed her phone's stopwatch, pointing up at Izuku angrily. "UA High is so famous, and this is all they have to offer? If they're gonna send us losers like you, we'd be better off with that old geezer we had before!" She was so aggressive with her approach that she managed to knock Izuku backwards.
"Hey, I don't know who you think you are, but you need to show some respect!" Izuka pointed down at her in annoyance. "You can't just yell at us like this, especially for someone your age! I get it, you're disappointed, but you have no right to call us names or undermine us!"
"Respect?! I'll show respect when lazy floozies like you take less than an hour!" She glared up at Izuka, who returned the favor.
"Lazy floozies?!" Izuka snarled down at the girl.
"Uh..." Izuku and Katsuma for that matter felt very awkward during the verbal girl fight... "We're sorry."
"Seriously?!" Izuka whipped around to her brother in disbelief that he was apologizing when they were the ones getting yelled at.
"Well, we did take a little too long..." He tried to reason with his sister quietly, rubbing the back of his neck. "And we're supposed to be helping the people on the island, not arguing with them...shouldn't you be used to people like her anyway?"
"Mmm..." The older girl looked annoyed at the reminder that Mahoro was basically acting like Katsuki right now, or like those kids she helped during her provisional license class...
"Heh!" Mahoro huffed, turning away from them and holding her head up high. "What did you expect? You are just high-schoolers."
"W-We really are sorry!" Izuku stuttered nervously as he felt like he was getting scolded by Mr. Aizawa or something. Izuka wasn't taking it as seriously as he was though as she huffed as well, crossing her arms.
"I'm not. You're so rude," Izuka muttered while looking away.
Kyoka and Ochaco ran up the staircase, as they had said for the twins to go on without them. They were much faster than the girls. "There's Deku and Callista!"
"So do you think you can do your job properly next time, Deku and Callista?" Mahoro asked the two with a smug smile. Izuka gritted her teeth at how overconfident she was being; not even Katsuki in his early days was that bad.
"Uh, yeah," Izuku answered her anxiously. "I'll try to be a little bit faster."
"Let's go, Katsuma," She then proudly walked past them. Izuka glared towards Mahoro in annoyance as she watched her leave. Katsuma flinched, feeling a little bit bad after seeing their expressions.
"Uh, okay," He ran after her, but then stopped next to the twins. "Um, mister? Miss?" The two flinched, looking towards him in confusion. He looked a little shy as he darted his eyes around. "Thanks for your help..."
Izuka blinked and then gave him a small smile, as it made things a little bit better. Plus he reminded her so much of her own brother.
"You don't need to thank them for anything," Mahoro took his hand and ran off with him.
"Uh...hey, what's going on with those two?" Ochaco furrowed her eyebrows in confusion as Izuku stood up.
"Why were you apologizing?" Kyoka was also confused and Izuku gave a small smile towards the children.
"Apparently, I took too long to find him, so his sister yelled at us..."
"Huh?" Kyoka looked at them in bewilderment. "That's ridiculous."
"Thank you!" Izuka gestured to the girl for agreeing with her.
"Still, I'm glad," Izuku confessed, getting all of their attention.
"About what?"
"...Katsuma's safe," Izuku gave a bright smile. "And that's all that really matters, you know?"
Kyoka rubbed the back of her head as she didn't understand at all. Izuka sighed, sagging her shoulders in defeat. She couldn't admit that he was wrong...but she still didn't like how they were treated. Ochaco just shrugged with a small smile. "You know, it's amazing just how Deku you can be sometimes."
"Huh?" Izuku didn't understand what she meant while Izuka smiled, trying not to squeal. She was still pissed at Mahoro, but she thought that hearing Ochaco say that was adorable. "I don't understand."
She grinned with a thumbs up. "I'm saying that you're a hero through and through!"
"And you handled it like I would've, Mido," Kyoka commented, Izuka blinking and rubbing the back of her neck sheepishly.
"I got mad at a little girl, though...I just couldn't help it. Let's go so I can erase that experience," She gave a blank look as she betted that Katsuki didn't do shit at the hero office...
"Those wannabes were useless, just like I thought. If they can't hack it on a little island like this where there's basically no crime, what good are they?" Mahoro complained while she and her brother were having ice cream. They were walking down the street from the store. "And she had the nerve to talk back to me! UA must've scrapped from the bottom of the barrel when they were deciding who to send out here."
"They looked for me when you told them I was missing, though," Katsuma pointed out with a small frown. "The ones who found me were so nice...like heroes would be."
She stared and then gave a big pout that he didn't share her opinion. I guess I'll just have to show you the truth about these so-called heroes! She angrily chomped a bite of her popsicle and then got a brain freeze, shaking.
"Are you okay?!" Her brother asked in concern. And although it wasn't the smartest move, her goal was still something she wasn't backing down on.
