The group was on their way to a nearby pokemon center that was a halfway point between cerulean and vermillion. on the way the group stopped at a strange sight. a lone charmander sitting on a rock. "um, are you good?" asked elesa. "im fine." said the charmander. "im just waiting for my trainer. he told me to wait here and dont move til he comes back." Drax grew suspicious at that. "theres a storm coming." he said. "i'd recomend coming to the pokemon center with us." charmander frowned at that. "but what if my trainer come back?" he asked. "its better to disobey your trainer and live rather then obey them and die." the group turned towards the voice and found bulbasaur. he'd been following them. "im all for being loyal to your trainer pal but youll die in that rain if you stay here." bulbasaur said. "look, we can come back as soon as the storm passes." drax said. "but you shouldnt stay out here. you have injuries acording to my scanner and you need to be healed." charmander looked uncertain but eventually agreed. "besides that," drax said. "no decent trainer leaves their pokemon by themselves while they go off who knows where. a good trainer takes their pokemon to get healed after every battle." charmander stared at drax after hearing his words. damian never does that.

the group, plus charmander, arrived at the pokemon center. charmander was riding on drax's backpack. "hey, we found this charmander on a rock by himself." drax said. "he said his trainer told him to wait there and hes pretty ruffed up. you think you could take care of him?" nurse joy raised an eyebrow. "he told you?" she asked. "its not the most unbelievable thing." said pikachu from ash's shoulder. "yeah, you should see the rest of drax's team." said eevee. nurse joy did a double take at the talking pokemon. "uh, just set him on this stretcher." nurse joy said.

before charmander was taken to the back the group and nurse joy heard a group of kids laughing. "wow, you have so many." said one kid. "yeah, you're the best damian." said another. "damain? thats my trainer!" exclaimed charmander. "hey damian didnt you use to have a charmander?" asked one kid. "yeah, but i ditched that pathetic weakling a while back. left it on a rock and told it to wait. it's probably still there." said damian. drax was pissed. this kid was acting like nothing was wrong with what he did. he wasnt the only one.

ash looked straight up murderous. neither he nor drax noticed charmander on the stretcher. tears coming from shadowed eyes. drax started silently walking towards the brats. he was halfway to them when he blinked and ash was already there. his body cloaked in a blue glow with his fist reared back. before anyone could blink, ash punched damian in the face hard enough to send him flying across the pokemon center and into the wall. one of drax's pokeballs opened and his lucario stared in shock at ash. "aura!" lucario said through aura speak. "later." said drax. we have an asshole to deal with.

as damian went to stand he found a large hand clamped around his throat as he was lifted off the ground. he fearfully stared into the eyes of a man with eyes shadowed by a red, black, and yellow cloak. the hand around his neck was metal and much of the man's upper body had the metal covering it. "so you have no problem letting a pokemon die just because you deem it as too weak?" asked the man.

"what do you care? its my pokemon and i can do what i want with it." damian shot back. his ego out weighing his survival instincts. "poor choice of words." another voice said. a pokemon he'd never seen before was pointing the barrel of a large cannon at his head. "give me the word, drax. ill splatter his mug all over the wall." the pokemon said. "come now, dear brother. we shant be commitin any crimes now." said another voice. this one was a pirate accent fot some reason. another pokemon that looked similar to the one with the cannon walked over. "but i spose we be makin an acception fer this one." said the pokemon as the backs of its elbows extended into blades. "both of you stand down." said the trainer holding damian by the throat. "yeah." said another voice. this one was much younger sounding. everyone turned to the voice revealing damian's charmander. his eyes shadowed and a scowl on his face. "im the only one here who gets to make him suffer." charmander said as smole came from his mouth.

"hold on, charmander." said drax. "don't tell me to hold on!" charmander shouted. "he was going to leave me to die! he deserves to suffer!" drax shook his head. "but if you attack him you'll get in trouble. besides, do you really want to stoop to his level?" drax asked. charmander just glared at damian before puting his head down. "no." he said then unleashed a flamethrower in damian's face, causing drax to let him go. "but he still deserved that." charmander said and turned to ash. "you were the first to stand up for me. can i come with you?" he said. ash wasnt fully cognisant due to the aura he'd used a minute ago. it was clear that aura wasnt something he'd ever used til now.

"you might want to give him a minute." drax said. "that was clearly a first time aura use for him." charmander nodded and began helping elesa and serena escort ash to a chair.

damian tried getting up but drax stomped on his chest. "dont even think about it." drax said. "james, call the police. this bastard needs to pay for what he pulled." james nodded and pulled out his phone. "titana, keep an eye on him." drax said as he let the alpha lopunny out. "whats a prissy lil rabbit gonna-" damian was cut off as said prissy rabbit materialized much bigger then he's seen with glowing red eyes. "please. finish that sentence." said titana cracking her knuckles. damian did not speak up after that.

"so ash has aura." drax said. "he clearly cant use it on command." saif lucario. "right. we'll have to teach him how to access it." drax pointed out. "you mean i'll have to teach him. you cant use aura." lucario teased. "hey youre my pokemon which means i have to tske responsiblity if something goes wrong." drax said. "alright, im just kidding." lucario said rolling his eyes. it was going to be one thing after another with this kid.

so ash gets his aura accessed earlier in the story. no, hes not becoming op right off the bat. charmanders reaction to damian's words was a bit extreme compared to the anime but in my opinion, this is wuat most likely wouldve happened had charmander been there when damian said all those things. ill be making sure things go different for him and ash in this story.
