Struggle

Toga and Uraraka locked eyes, "How the hell did you even get free? I made sure your arms were tied." asked Toga.

Uraraka smirked, "It wasn't easy, but when I woke up I noticed that the rope around my wrists was loose. I managed to dislocate both of my wrists to get free. Hurt like hell but I popped them back into place. And now, I'm going to kill you for what you did to me."

Toga smiled, "You, kill me? Keep dreaming, once I kill you, Izuku will be mine again!"

"There are about 25 different ways I can currently kill you using my quirk." said Uraraka, her eyes leaking killing intent. "But I think the old fashioned way would work just fine, what do you say?"

Uraraka put up her fist, Toga in turn dropped all of her weapons. This was going to be an old school fist fight to the death. "Sounds fun!"

The two got into a fighting stance meters apart from each other. Izuku watched on from the top balcony, unable to stop them.

With a twitch of her eye Toga charged Uraraka. She went in for a jab to her face but Uraraka dodged. Countering, Uraraka kneed Toga in the stomach.

Going back and forth, the two looked equally matched, no clear winner was sure. But from where Izuku was watching, one thing was sure, if this went on one would die.

The two girls fought their way into the back of the screen. There Uraraka used a broken chair and hit Toga with it just as she ran at her.

Stunned Uraraka took this chance to tackle Toga. But in that moment Toga regained her bearings and used Uraraka's momentum against her.

Lifting her off the ground Toga suplexed the girl into the ground. Now on the floor Toga slithered her way onto Uraraka and pinned her arm. "Why do you even like him! You don't know him like I do!" Yelled Toga, pulling Uraraka's arm back causing her to scream and bones to creak. "I taught him how to fight, how to hunt, how to live! I matter to him more than you'll ever."

Grunting in pain, Uraraka somehow managed to lift Toga on her arm. "You tortured him, just like you did to me. For that I'll make sure you pay in blood."

Slamming Toga onto the ground, Uraraka felt the lock on her arm weaken. Seeing a chance, Uraraka quickly broke the lock and kicked Toga away.

Sliding to a stop Toga sprung up, feeling something warm run down her nose she wiped it away and saw that it was blood. Licking it off, Toga tasted her own blood, "You want to kill me, fine. Come and get me."

Uraraka narrowed her eyes and ran at Toga, but much to her surprise Toga suddenly turned and began to run away. "What!"

"I never said anything about it being easy. You want me, come and get me!" Yelled Toga as she crashed through a wall.

Uraraka quickly followed, but Izuku who was watching from above knew what Toga was doing. "Uraraka, don't!" He yelled out, but it was too late. "Shit, Toga isn't going to keep fighting fair."

Running into the back Toga jumped over broken popcorn machines, movie posters, and several chairs. "Stop running!" Yelled Uraraka running behind her.

Bursting through some doors, Toga led Uraraka into a dark room. "Did Izuku ever tell you?"

Uraraka looked around, "Tell me what?"

"He and I know each other, intimately." Toga's voice echoed throughout the darkness. "All those nights of enjoyment…granted some of them were forced but he enjoyed it nonetheless."

Anger began to take over, "You fucken bitch! Come out and face me!"

"If you spent time with him, you know about his arm, don't you?" Toga questioned. "How does it feel to be near a tainted person? What if he was lying, what if he turns one of these days and bites you!?"

"He wouldn't do that!" Uraraka answered back. "Midoriya is.."

"A nice person?" Toga laughed. "You don't know him like I did. I've seen what he could do, and let me just say, it made me look like a good guy. He didn't escape from me, he sold me out, left me to be eaten by those things. He and I were friends and he betrayed me, and he'll do the same to you."

"You're wrong!" Uraraka yelled. "He wouldn't do that."

Just then Uraraka was tackled from behind, tumbling to the floor she stopped on her back and watched as Toga came plunging down towards her, knife in hand.

Catching Toga's wrist Uraraka managed to hold her, "What's wrong? Don't want to believe me? You can ask him yourself, but he won't answer you."

Uraraka clenched her teeth as she pushed against Toga, "Ask him about the others, ask him about the ones we left behind! He's done it before, he'll do it again!"

Pushing hard, Toga managed to overpower Uraraka causing the knife to plunge down into her shoulder. "What's wrong, nothing to say?" Toga asked as she smiled down. "Let me give you a piece of advice before I kill you." She then leaned down close to Uraraka's ear. "Never trust anyone."

Blood began to trail down Uraraka's arm, but much to Toga's surprise the gravity user began to smile, "I couldn't agree more." While the knife was still in her, Uraraka managed to move her hands together and touch the tips of her fingers. "Release"

Toga's eyes widened, quickly looking up she saw large pieces of debris falling towards them. "You idiot, you'll get caught in this too!"

That's when Uraraka head butted Toga underneath the chin causing her to stumble back. This gave her the chance to roll away just as the debris came crashing down around her. The sound of metal and wood was heard as Toga was buried underneath it all. Once it was over Uraraka stood up and looked at the pile, her breathing was heavy, her arm had blood running down it. "Serves you right bitch."

Turning around Uraraka held her shoulder but as she took a step something grabbed her ankle. Snapping her head back she looked down to see a hand around her ankle, "No way…" is all she could say before being pulled down.

Now on the floor Uraraka could see her through twisted metal. "I got you…" she said, her eyes glowing yellow and blood running down her face. "You can't get away. Izuku is mine and mine alone."

Uraraka managed to free herself, and noticed a metal beam had pierced Toga in the back, "Keep dreaming."

Now back up Uraraka began to walk away from Toga, all the while a laugh was heard before fading. "I'll find you, I'll find the both of you. Then we can be together, together forever." then silence.

Stumbling towards the main area Uraraka tried to support herself with the wall. She left behind a trail of blood on the wall as she did.

"M-Man, I'm feeling dizzy, the adrenaline must be wearing off." Slowly Uraraka began to lean forward and back. Her head began to spin and her vision blurred. She felt as if she was falling, but that's when someone helped her.

Uraraka looked over and noticed that it was Izuku. "I got you." He said with a smile.

"M-Midoriya?" She asked. "Are you alright?"

He laughed, "I should be asking you that. Come on, let's get you out of here."

Uraraka didn't know what happened next, but the next time she woke up she was laying down on a beat up sofa. She got up and noticed that she was covered in wrap that went around her chest and shoulder. "Easy." Someone said entering the room she was in. "You're still injured." It was Momo.

"Where are we?" she asked, trying to sit up but the pain brought her back down.

"We are in an office space a few miles from camp. We brought you here to recover." Momo explained. "You've been out for a full day." She then saw Uraraka looking around. "If you're looking for Midoriya we had to practically drag him out of here. He wouldn't leave your side, not even to eat. He should be with Shoto and Kirishima right now."

"Is he alright?" Uraraka asked. "Toga, what about Toga."

"He's fine, but a few cuts and bruises but nothing too extreme. And we never looked back to find her." Momo then sighed, "Wait here, I'll go call Midoriya."

With that Momo got up and walked out of the room. Uraraka laid there thinking back to what happened and to what Toga said. "Is he really hiding something from me?"

Just then Izuku rushed in, "Uraraka!"

Uraraka jumped at the sudden sound, "Jesus Midoriya, if Toga didn't kill me you scaring me will."

"Sorry sorry." He took a second to calm himself, "How are you feeling?" He asked, walking towards the bed.

"Good. My arm is still sore but I'll live." She then looked at Izuku and saw a sad expression. "Midoriya?"

"I-I just want to say I'm sorry." He took a seat near the bed. "None of this would have happened if you never met me. I'm the one who put you in this position."

But Uraraka shook her head, "No, don't do that. Don't you dare start blaming yourself. I sure as hell don't blame you."

He smiled softly, "Okay."

"Good, now do you have anything to eat? I'm starving." Uraraka said as her stomach growled.

"Of course." After eating her fill Uraraka was told to rest some more. It was night time by the time Uraraka felt strong enough to stand. Exiting the area she was in she was happy to see both Momo, Todoroki, Mina, and a new face Kirishima.

"Thank you for helping me get Mina back." Kirishima said.

"It was nothing. So how did you two end up together?" Uraraka asked.

Mina and Kirishima looked at each other and laughed, "We are actually childhood friends. We've been close since we were little." Mina explained.

"She was always this outlandish, outgoing person. And I was pretty shy, so at first we mixed like oil and water. But eventually, for better or worse, we hung out more. We were actually at a mall when this whole thing kicked off. Barely made it out, but thanks to our quirks we made it." Kirishima explained.

"What are your quirks?" Momo asked. "I know you can change your body's density or something."

Mina looked around and saw an old aluminum can, pointing her hand at it and she fired a grayish substance. The substance covered the can and began to melt it, "Acid. My body produces acid that I can use for far or close ranged attacks. Useful with the undead."

"That's awesome." Izuku said. "The two of you working together, you're basically a walking tank."

"What about you guys?" Mina asked.

"Creation." Said Momo, making a small doll.

"Ice and Fire." Todoroki said activating his quirks one on each hand.

"Zero Gravity," said Uraraka, causing some cans to float.

They then turned to Izuku, "Nothing." He said leaning back against the wall. "I got nothing."

Mina and Kirishima's eyes widened, "Wait you mean you're."

"Quirkless." Izuku said, much to their surprise.

"H-How? How are you still alive?" Mina asked. "I would figure being without a quirk would make you an easier prey."

"I would, but because I'm quirkless I had to adapt a lot faster." Izuku pulled out his gun, "Besides, nothing a little lead can't fix."

"You should have seen him Mina, Midoriya here kicking ass. He knows how to fight." Said Kirishima. "Besides, it doesn't matter if he has a quirk of not, he helped save you." Izuku nodded.

"So what will you two do now?" Uraraka asked.

"We were actually heading to a survivor's camp." Said Mina. "It's supposed to be at UA."

"That's at least a two week walk." explained Izuku. "Nor to mention the hoards you'd have to cross."

"I've heard that UA had a camp, but never believed it." Said Momo.

"They say some of the teachers there kept the place running and are now running it. Opening the doors to anyone who shows up," said Kirishima. "Although now? I'm not so sure."

"We keep moving." Mina said, "We've always been on the move, I see no reason why to stop now."

Izuku looked at the others, who all nodded, "You could stay with us. We have a camp set up near the coast line."

"Really?" Kirishima asked. He then looked at Mina, "We could stay with them."

"We could, but we're always on the move. You remember the last time we stayed in one place right? I know they helped us, but we can't risk it. We have to keep moving." Said Mina, not liking the idea of staying in one place.

"Mina, we can't keep living like this. We're always on the run, we've been lucky so far, but our luck will run out. At least with them we have a better chance." Said Kirishima.

Mina could see Kirishima was serious about staying with the group, "But…"

"Sleep on it." Izuku said standing up. "You can decide what to do in the morning."

Uraraka got up and stretched, "Yeah I'm still a bit tired from this morning."

Momo and Todoroki soon followed, "I'll make some sleeping bags for you." Said Momo activating her quirk. She then handed them out

Taking them, they each found a place in the office space and laid down.

It was about midnight when all of a sudden Izuku woke up. Sitting up he could hear people breathing, and even some snoring. But through it all he heard the sound of footsteps. From the dark he could barely make out the silhouette of someone.

Now standing on the roof of the office space Mina looked up towards the stars. "Having trouble sleeping?" Izuku asked, sneaking up behind her.

Mina jumped when she heard his voice, "Jesus, you scared me. Sorry, did I wake you?"

"No, it's fine. I'm just a really light sleeper." Said Izuku walking to her side.

"How do you do it?" Mina asked, confusing Izuku. "How do you keep going? You have no powers to protect yourself, how are you not scared? Every day I'm afraid, afraid I'll lose Kiri, afraid that today will be my last. Do you feel the same?"

Izuku took a deep breath, "Every day." He said. "Even more so since I don't have a quirk."

"What kept you going?" She then turned to him. "I heard stories of people without quirks ending up dead before this whole mess started."

Izuku thought about it, "I made a promise, long ago. I promised to keep on living. But I often found myself wanting to end it. I mean what was the point? Every day is a struggle, you don't know if you'll get bit, or if you'll ever find food. I survived, but I wasn't alive. That is until I met Uraraka."

Mina had a devilish smile, "Oh I see, you fell in love."

Izuku blushed, "Yeah, I guess you can say that. She gave me another reason to keep going. And I get the feeling you are Kirishima are the same."

"I wish, Kiri is a clueless guy. Who wouldn't know what love is if it hit him in the face." Said Mina smirking. "But even so, I know he cares about me. He's just afraid he'll lose me."

"If there's anything I've learnt in my short life it's this. Make every second count because the next could be your last." Said Izuku.

"That's great advice. So why haven't you asked Uraraka to be your girlfriend yet?" Mina asked.

Izuku turned, "That, is none of your concern."

"Awww come on! After saying all that you're just going to leave me like that?" Mina said, pouting. "Take your own advice and be a man."

"Can't hear you." Izuku waved as he began to walk away.

Mina began to follow, "Get back here Midoriya. I want to know the whole story."

The next morning everyone was awake and enjoying some food. After their meal they would head back to base, while Mina and Kirishima would most likely go their separate ways.

Heading down to the first floor Izuku made sure the coast was clear. He then shook Kirishima's hand, "Thank you, for helping me save Mina."

"Of course. Sorry I dragged you two into my mess." Said Izuku. "Are you sure you won't reconsider?"

"Nah, I can tell Mina doesn't want to. And besides, we like being on the road." Izuku sighed.

"Here take this then." He then handed Kirishima a small backpack. "You'll need these. Some basic supplies courtesy of Momo and some food. It won't last long so you'll have to scavenge."

Kirishima took the bag. "Thank you, all of you." he then looked to Mina. "Ready to head out?"

Mina stayed quite for a while before looking at Uraraka and Izuku, "No." She said, much to Kirishima's surprise. Mina turned and faced Kirishima, "I want to stay with them."

Kirishima's eyes widened, "Really?"

She nodded, "Yeah, we owe them our lives. Besides, I don't want to be on the run anymore. This could be a good chance to change that."

Smiling, Kirishima hugged Mina, "Thank you."

After a few short seconds Kirishima let go and looked at Izuku, "Will you really let us live with you?"

Izuku looked at the others, who all nodded, "Of course." He said, extending out his hand, "That is, if you want to."

Kirishima took Izuku's hand and shook it, "Of course we do."

"Perfect, then let's head back." With that the group of 4 now grew into a group of 6. After a few hours the group made it back to base camp.

Izuku showed them to an old cargo container that he retrofitted with a window and the basics for living. He originally planned it to be a sort of safe house but scrapped the idea. Mina and Kirishima loved it, they had a secure place to live.

Momo helped by providing them with anything they wanted to freshen the place up. But nothing in this world was free, both of them would have to contribute to base camp. Mina could help with defence since she could melt the zombies that approached, Kirishima would come with Izuku to go scouting for supplies. But ever since Momo arrived the need to scout drastically decreased. But they still needed medicine, Momo could create them but due to complexity, burden on the body, and just lack of molecular understanding she would have a hard time. One mistake and she could accidentally make poison.

A few days had gone by since they returned and everything seemed to be looking up. Even Uraraka was now fully healed and ready for action. However, the others noticed that she couldn't look at Izuku the same way. Something about the way she talked now vs before felt off.

Momo was the first to notice, one day she found Uraraka moving a few pieces of scrap metal around and decided to confront her. "Hey Uraraka, got a second?"

Uraraka hummed, "Yeah sure, what's up?" She asked, still moving the pieces around.

"What's up with you?" Uraraka raised an eyebrow.

"What are you talking about?" She asked, confused as to why Momo was asking this. "I'm fine, my wounds healed already. Thanks by the way."

"That's not what I'm talking about. You've been acting differently around Midoriya lately." The pieces of metal suddenly fell causing a loud noise to echo.

Uraraka sighed, "So you noticed."

"We've all noticed, the only person who hasn't is Midoriya. Or maybe he has, and isn't talking about it." Said Momo. "So what's going on?"

"It's Toga." Uraraka replied. "She, she said something that has me thinking about it over and over in my head. It has me guessing if I can still trust him."

"Something related to Midoriya?" Momo asked, to which Uraraka nodded. "You know you can't trust anything she said right? Toga was crazy."

Uraraka nodded, "I know, but…I don't think these were lies."

"Well the only way you'll know if they are or not is if you ask him. This doubt you have right now will only complicate things later." Momo said. "Talk to him and find out the truth, for your sake."

Uraraka looked at the ocean waves, "Yeah, I guess I have no other choice."

Nighttime

While everyone else was inside the camp Izuku was checking the perimeter making sure there were no stragglers attacking the defenses.

He stopped and turned his head, "You know, you're still the only person who can sneak up on me."

Turning he found Uraraka standing a few feet away, "One of my secrets."

"Why aren't you with the others? You should go eat." Said Izuku as he checked the wall.

"I should be saying that to you. You haven't rested since Mina and Kirishima got here." Uraraka said.

"Yeah I guess I haven't rested. But I'm fine." He said.

Uraraka then walked closer and stood beside him, "We need to talk."

Izuku sighed, "Yeah, I kind of figured." He turned, "Walk with me."

The two then walked along the edge of the shore, the waves hitting the sand as they walked. They weren't unarmed and had their weapons at the ready in case something showed up. "What do you want to know?" He asked.

"Everything." Said Uraraka. "I want to know what you and Toga did. But most importantly, what she did to you. She mentioned your past, but only alluded to it, I want to hear it from you."

Izuku looked at the ocean, "I killed people."

"Yeah, we all have Midoriya." Said Uraraka, confused. "We did what we had to do to survive."

"I'm not talking about the dead." He turned to her, sadness building up in his eyes. "These were real people. Humans. Innocent people."

Uraraka took a step back, "Y-You're lying right?" Izuku stayed quiet. "Tell me you're lying!"

"I'm not." He said.

That's when Uraraka rushed up to him and grabbed him by the shirt, "No! You don't do that, you're a good person!"

"Toga and I used to go out and look for supplies. When we couldn't find any we stole them from others. Some we killed, others we left behind for the zombies." Izuku explained.

"Why? Why would you ever be with someone like her?" Uraraka asked. "Why didn't you leave."

"Because, I didn't have a choice." Izuku explained. "I tried to leave. I did several times, but each time she kept finding me. She was drawn to my blood, something about it being special, untainted. And she would do anything to get it. Including…forcing herself on me."

Uraraka's eyes widened, "She.." Izuku nodded.

"I pretended I didn't care but all I could think of was how do I escape? And then one day I did. We were attacked by a quirker and in the confusion I slipped out. But I was alone and with very little supplies." Izuku clenched his hands. "I ran and ran, for days until I was sure she wouldn't find me. That's when I found this place and built it from the ground up. And you know what, I wouldn't change the past."

That surprised Uraraka, "Why? All the pain, all the suffering you had to endure."

"Scars heal Uraraka, but the lessons learned from them never fade. I am who I am now because of what I went through, besides, I've met some amazing people on my way here." He said, as a smile formed. "Even though they did steal from me."

"Hey! You shot me, remember." Uraraka said, "Besides, I said I was sorry."

Izuku laughed, "I know I know. Thank you, for staying with me Uraraka. Even after you saw the bite you decided to stay."

"I may be okay with it but the others might not. I'd like to keep that a secret for now. At least until we know we can fully trust them." Izuku nodded. "Good, are there any more crazy ex girlfriends I should know about? Or is that it?"

"No, no more crazy ones. They were all normal people." And he fell for it.

"Oh so there's more?" Uraraka asked, "I would like to hear about them."

Sweat began to run down Izuku's forehead, "You know I should really get back to checking the perimeter." He then began to walk away.

"Hey! You aren't getting away that easily." Said Uraraka chasing after him.

The Next Day

It was still dark out and the sun was just about to rise. Uraraka was fast asleep when she suddenly snapped her eyes open. Sitting up on the bed she looked around, something was off.

Throwing the blanket off she got up and walked out towards the main area. Nothing seemed to be off, Uraraka shrugged and was about to head back to bed when the sound of sand shifting was heard.

Pausing she narrowed her eyes and once again scanned the area. Stepping onto the sand Uraraka grabbed her knife from behind her back, it could be a zombie that somehow wandered in.

However, just as she was far enough away something pushed her from behind. Uraraka was thrown to the ground, her knife knocked away. Whoever it was that attacked her grabbed Uraraka's head and slammed it into the sand.

"I don't know who you are, but if you hurt the guy living here so help me. Now start talking, where is he?" The person asked.

Uraraka could tell that it was a girl, someone that knew Izuku, and knew this place. Even so, no one attacked her and would leave without a few bruises of their own.

Using her legs Uraraka wrapped them around the person's waist before flipping them over and onto the sand.

Free from her attacker, Uraraka turned to confront them. "Who are you!?"

Getting up the girl dusted off the sand on her face, "None of your business. Now tell me where Izuku is."

Seeing the knife she had before next to her Uraraka grabbed it and readied herself, "Like I would tell you anything."

"Guess I'll have to beat it out of you." The woman said.

Uraraka scoffed, "Bring it."

The two took a hard step forward but before they could attack each other a wall of ice appeared in-between them. "Todoroki." Said Uraraka as he appeared from their room with Momo right behind him.

"What the hell is this?" The girl said shocked that there would be more people. "You guys took over this place!"

"Uraraka, who the hell is this?" Momo asked.

"She's an intruder, that's what." She replied, "Take her down."

Todoroki readied his ice, "Wait!" Izuku yelled out, appearing shirtless. "Don't hurt her."

Mina and Kirishima soon appeared from their rooms, "You know this girl Midoriya?" Mina asked.

Izuku nodded, "I do."

The girl turned towards Izuku and smiled, "Izuku!" She yelled as she leaped towards him. Izuku opened his arms and caught her, the two now embracing. "It's been so long."

Uraraka lowered her weapon, "Midoriya, who is this?"

The two broke the hug, "Everyone, meet Tsuyu Asui. Me and her have, history. Don't worry, she's friendly."

"Sure didn't seem that way." Uraraka said, "I was going to kill you."

Tsuyu scoffed, "With your fighting techniques? You would be lucky to land a hit on me."

Uraraka's eyes twitched, "What was that?!"

"Enough Tsu, you wouldn't have come back for no reason. What happened?" Izuku asked.

"I heard through the grapevine that a certain blond hair crazy lady was planning something. So I came to see if you were alright." Explained Tsu.

"Still hanging out with the underground huh? Well as you can see, I'm fine. And it's thanks to them." Izuku motioned towards the others. "Since we're all here, how about we eat some breakfast?"

"Oh yes! I'm starving, I haven't eaten in days." said Tsu.

AN: DUN DUN DUN! Toga is now dead? And Tsu has entered the picture? What will this mean for Izuku and the gang?
