Episode 410: Lucas's Keyblade
I was originally gonna include a tag battle with the Champ Twins in this chapter, but I thought I would put that on hold until the next chapter, plus a little something extra. Anyway, here is the current chapter, so enjoy.
After their latest encounter with Team Galactic, Sora, Kairi, Brendan, May, Chase, Elaine, Lucas, Dawn, Pikachu, Angel, Volt, Maple, and Piplup have made a stop to pick some berries for their Pokémon for later. As they picked the berries they're approached by Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, and Marill.
"Hey, you guys," Ethan greeted.
"Hey, yourself, Ethan," Sora greeted back.
"Haven't seen you since we separated," Lucas said.
"So, what's new with you?" Kris asked.
"We had a run-in with Team Galactic again, if that's new," Chase said.
"Pikachu," Volt said.
"Team Galactic? You sure?" Leaf asked.
"Yeah. They took over the Valley Windworks just down the road," Dawn said.
"And they were being led by a woman calling herself Mars, and she had a Purugly with her," Kairi said.
"And that Purugly beat Kairi's Glameow very easily," Elaine said.
"They took off with some electricity, but we have no idea what they need it for," Brendan said.
"Whatever they got cooking, it can't be good," Ash said.
"Ash is right. I mean, Team Aqua and Team Magma had their own goals while Team Rocket were just plain greedy. I think Team Galactic might have some nastier plans than Team Aqua and Team Magma ever could," Lyra said.
"Marill," Marill said.
"Just talking about it isn't going to solve anything. We don't know what Team Galactic has cooking. If it is something big, then it's gotta be bad for all of us. Until we know more about their plans, we don't talk about this. One of us has to pass this on to Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Michael, Wes, and Rui and the Master so they would know, too," Sora said.
"Right," the rest of the group said.
With that said, they had to focus on what was right in front of them for right now. And that was the upcoming Gym battle at Eterna City. To get there, they had to go through Eterna Forest.
Meanwhile, Roxas, Xion, and the DigiDestined have made a stop. Roxas has caught a Turtwig, a Chimchar, a Piplup, a Riolu, a Gible, a Cranidos, a Shieldon, Croagunk, a Shinx, a male Hippopotas, a Stunky, and a Skorupi. Xion has caught a Bidoof, a Buneary, a Kricketot, a Pachirsu, a female Hippopotas, and a Drifloon. They had themselves a meal. By that time, Davis's Gible had evolved. It is now a medium-sized, bipedal, dragon-like Pokémon that is primarily blue. Its underside is light blue, with red covering it from the middle of its abdomen to the bottoms of its jaw. It has two appendages that resemble jets or plane engines extending out the side of its skull. Each appendage has a blue stripe. It has four fins: one on each arm, one on its back, and another on its tail. The back fin has a notch on it. It has spikes on its hind limbs, and sharp claws on its feet and wrists. Its eyes have black sclerae and gold colored irises. Cody's Turtwig had evolved into a Grotle.
"So, Roxas, any idea on how your strategy for your next Gym battle is gonna go down since you're gonna be up against Grass-types?" Ken asked.
"I thought a lot about it. It's a known fact that Grass-type Pokémon are weak against Fire, Flying, Bug, Poison, and Ice-types, and I got plenty of those. Just about any one of them would get the job done. I was lucky win my battle against Roark," Roxas said.
"Hey, luck has nothing to do with it, man. You won because you some mad skills. We saw that back when you battled hard during the finals of the Pokémon Stadium Cup," Davis said.
"Davis is actually right, Roxas. You inherited Sora 2's skills as a Pokémon Trainer since you're his Nobody," TK said.
"So, you have plenty of time to think over your strategy, Roxas. But it'll be a good idea that you have some practice battles, just to be on your toes," Joe said.
"I guess you guys have a point. I could use the practice," Roxas said. He turned to Xipak. "You up for it, buddy?"
"Pikachu," Sparky said.
"I'll be more than happy to lend a hand," Mimi said.
"That's awesome, Mimi," Roxas said.
"Go for it, Roxas," Xion said.
"Eevee," Celeste said.
With that said, Roxas and Mimi got into positions for battle. Mimi took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Cacturne! Come on out!" Her Pokéball opened and her Cacturne emerged from inside. Roxas took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Come out, Dustox!" Roxas called out. A Dustox fluttered out from inside. "Dustox! Poison Sting!" Dustox complies with Roxas by firing Poison Sting at the Scarecrow Pokémon.
"Dodge it and use Mega Punch!" Mimi ordered. Cacturne dodges Dustox's Poison Sting and came at the Poison Moth Pokémon with a Mega Punch, dealing some heavy damage. "Use Pin Missile!" Cacturne unleashes Pin Missile from its body.
"Use Gust!" Roxas ordered. Dustox flaps its wings to blow the Pin Missile away. "Tackle!"
"Spiky Shield!" Mimi ordered. Cacturne makes a protective shield with its needles.
"Veer left!" Roxas shouted, knowing what it meant. Dustox quickly changes directions. Dustox flew upwards. "That was close. You doing okay, Dustox?"
"Dustox," Dustox said.
"Great! Okay, use Gust!" Roxas ordered. Dustox flapped its wings, blowing at Cacturne.
"Dodge and use Mega Punch!" Mimi ordered. Cacturne dodges Dustox's Gust and came at the Poison Moth Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Tackle!" Roxas ordered. Dustox dodges Cacturne's Mega Punch and lands a hit with Tackle. "Poison Sting!" Dustox fired Poison Sting, hitting the Scarecrow Pokémon, poisoning Cacturne. Cacturne hurt by the poisoning. "One more Tackle!" Dustox lands a hit with Tackle, resulting in a knockout.
"Cacturne, speak to me!" Mimi cried.
"Cac," Cacturne weakly said.
"And that's a wrap," Tai said.
"Take five, Dustox," Roxas said as Dustox fluttered down to Roxas's level.
"It looks like Roxas is going to do just fine in his Gym battle," Kari said.
"Especially from all the training he had been doing. It's really paying off since his Cascoon had evolved into a Dustox just yesterday," Izzy said.
"Okay, Mimi, I'm going to need to tend to Cacturne. Same with Dustox, Roxas," Joe said.
"Sure," Roxas and Mimi said as they complied.
Back with Sora, Kairi, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Chase, Elaine, Lucas, Dawn, Pikachu, Angel, Marill, Volt, Maple, and Piplup, they continue on their way to Eterna City unaware of what was coming their way and not too long it would seem. A little while later, the group had made a stop as Sora training his Pokémon for his Gym battle.
"Okay, Shinx! Use Tackle!" Sora ordered. Shinx charges while his body emiting electricity. Sora knew it wasn't a Tackle that came out. "Hey, that's Spark! Shinx just learned to use Spark!" Shinx has landed a hit on the Unversed dummy. Shinx then began to evolve. "Shinx, you're evolving!" Shinx has become a Luxio right before his eyes.
"Luxio," Luxio said.
"You evolved into a Luxio," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said. Sora took out his Rotom Phone for some info on his newly evolved Pokémon.

The tips of its claws loose electricity with enough to cause fainting. They live in small groups.
"I guess you were pretty close to evolving, Luxio. Good job," Sora said, petting his newly evolved Luxio.
"You just have that magic touch when it comes to Pokémon, Sora," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Yeah, and you have that touch, too, Kairi," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"You're just being nice, Sora," Kairi said.
"Yeah, but it's true, Kairi," Sora said.
"You're a very sweet boy, Sora, and your sweetness is one of the reasons I love you so much," Kairi said.
"Now, look who's being sweet," Sora said as he and Kairi kiss each other on the lips. They were unaware of May, Elaine, Dawn, and Maple looking at them while they kissed, swooning at the sight of it since it was so romantic to them.
"Oh, that is so very sweet," Dawn said in a swooning manner.
"Sure is," May agreed.
"Kairi is such a lucky girl to have Sora as a boyfriend. Those two are made for each other," Elaine said.
"Eevee," Maple agreed.
"Say, Dawn. You feel you could have that kind of relationship with Lucas?" May asked. Dawn blushed at the question.
"Um, maybe... Yeah..." Dawn stammered.
"It's okay, Dawn. You're shy about expressing your feelings for Lucas. It was the same thing for me and Brendan," May said.
"When did you and Brendan become a couple?" Dawn asked.
"It was shortly after the Hoenn Grand Festival. It was right at the closing ceremony. Brendan and I ended up confessing our love to each other we ended up sharing our first kiss as a couple," May said.
"It must have been nice," Dawn said.
"Oh, it was," May said.
Not too long after that, Sora and Kairi have rejoined the rest of the group as Riku, Naminé, Rei, Eevee, and Azurill showed up.
"Apprentices," Rei said.
"Hi, Master," the Keyblade wielders all said.
"And what are you up to?" Rei asked.
"Traveling, Master. And there's something we all think you should be on the loop for," Sora said.
"I'm listening," Rei said.
Sora and the others filled their Master about their second encounter with Team Galactic and about being ready for them and not worrying about their activities until they knew more about their plans.
"I understand, apprentices. You did the right thing to discuss this," Rei said.
"What about you, Riku? You still holding up?" Sora asked. Riku didn't answer. Sora could tell he was still bothered about what had happened. Sora couldn't blame him, but he still couldn't believe what happened. The image of Riku cutting off J's arm still haunted his mind. What really haunted him was the darkness that came out form him. Sora sighed to himself. Naminé was also worried about her boyfriend.
"See what I mean?" Dawn asked Kairi.
"I see it," Kairi answered.
"Don't talk about me like I'm not here," Riku said.
"Sorry, Riku. I..." Dawn said.
"Don't be sorry, Dawn. It's not like I'm trying to hide it or anything," Riku said.
"I know you're not, Riku. But you know you're probation will stand until you control your power over the darkness," Rei said.
"I know," Riku said. He pets Eevee on his head.
"How have you been dealing with it, Naminé?" Leaf asked.
"Not so well. Ever since it happened Riku has been pretty distant with me. It feels like I don't know him anymore," Naminé said.
"Rill," Azurill said.
Riku didn't say anything. He never meant to make Naminé worry, but he didn't want her to deal with such a burden since she doesn't have powers over the darkness like he does, and he didn't want to risk making it worse for her.
"It's worse than I thought," Sora said.
"Chu," Pikachu said.
"Well, at least it can't get any worse than this," Chase said.
Just then, some Heartless appeared all around them. The Heartless consisted of Shadows, Soldiers, Large Bodies, Red Nocturnes, Blue Rhapsodies, Yellow Operas, Green Requiems, Silver Rocks, Emerald Blues, Crimson Jazzes, Minute Bombs, Hammerframes, Bad Dogs, Cannon Guns, Driller Moles, Lance Soldiers, Rapid Thrusters, Aeroplanes, Hot Rods, Neoshadows, Novashadows, Deserters, Armored Knights, Watchers, Defenders, Wyverns, Wizards, Darkballs, Silver Dragons, Uni-Walruses, Mandipedes, Emblem Seahorses, Cyclodactyls, Octoshells, Wreckadillos, Metal Lobsters, Dreaddy Bears, Vampires, Mad Mammoths, Stray Cats, Red Octopuses, Yellow Octopuses, Gangsters, Burglars, Little Red Penguins, Little Green Penguins, and some new Heartless.
One is a Heartless that has a very large, round body that is almost entirely covered in armor. Its head is very small, pitch-black, and has a jagged mouth, glowing yellow eyes, and short, gold horns. It wears gold boots and large, gold and red-violet gauntlets. The armor around its neck is gold, its breastplate is silver and light grey, and the armor on its lower body is black with a grey, zig-zagging line around its abdomen. Its Heartless emblem is in the middle of its belly, just below its breastplate. This Heartless is known as the Large Armor.
Another is a Heartless that has a very large, round body that is almost entirely covered in armor. Its head is very small, pitch-black, and has a jagged mouth, glowing yellow eyes, and short, orange horns. It wears gold boots and large, gold and red gauntlets. The armor around its neck is gold, its breastplate is silver and light green, and the armor on its lower body is brown with a black, zig-zagging line around its abdomen. Its Heartless emblem is in the middle of its belly, just below its breastplate. This Heartless is known as the Clay Armor.
Another is a rotund Heartless with a body covered almost entirely in armor. It has a small, black head, yellow eyes, and a jagged mouth. Purple horns appear atop the Heartless's head, and silver boots appear on its feet. Silver and yellow gauntlets cover the its wrists, and its breastplate is red and maroon in coloration. The armor covering this Heartless's lower body is black; a dark purple zig-zag wraps around its abdomen. The Heartless emblem appears in the center of its stomach, just below its breastplate. This Heartless is the Solid Armor.
Another is a Heartless that has a very large, round body that is almost entirely covered in armor. Its head is very small, pitch-black, and has a jagged mouth, glowing yellow eyes, and short, light blue horns. It wears gold boots and large, gold and navy blue gauntlets. The armor around its neck is gold, its breastplate is dark blue and sky blue, and the armor on its lower body is brown with a tan, zig-zagging line around its abdomen. Its Heartless emblem is in the middle of its belly, just below its breastplate. This Heartless is known as the Land Armor.
The final Heartless is a massive, quadrupedal Heartless. Its body is predominantly lilac in color, but its back and all four of its legs are violet. Each of the the Heartless's legs have two toes with black claws. It has two large, curved tusks sprouting from its lower jaw that are white on their upper half and lilac on their lower half. The Heartless's conical, black horn is on its forehead. Like most other Heartless, it has yellow eyes and a jagged maw. Its Heartless emblem is on its chest. This Heartless is known as the Behemoth.
"You had to say it, didn't you?" Ethan asked.
"Take them all down!" Rei shouted as she and the rest, except Riku summoned their Keyblades and engaged the Heartless. The Behemoth unleashes bursts of energy from its horn, making the Keyblade wielders scatter from left to right. They fought off the Heartless as they came right them. Sora casts a magnet spell, pulling in some of them as Kairi casts a thunder spell, hitting the Heartless. Pikachu and Angel came at them with a double Iron Tail, hitting a Large Body as another Large Body swings its arms at Dawn, but she managed to avoid it and slashed at it on its back as Piplup pecked at a Soldier as Volt and Maple came at some Wizards with Quick Attack, destroying them. A Defender spewed fire as Chase casts a blizzard spell, cancelling out the fire, making it raise its shield, so Chase slashed at it. Kris casts a music spell on the Heartless all around them. The Dreaddy Bears came at Elaine, so she casts a fire spell, burning them. The Yellow Operas unleashes some lightning as Brendan and May slashed at the Yellow Operas. Lucas joined in as he let out his Pokéball and opened it. Rei unleashed some golden sparkles at the Heartless as Naminé casts an aero spell, blowing the Silver Rocks, Emerald Blues, and Crimson Jazzes in it. Marill fired Bubble Beam as Lyra threw her Keyblade at a Mad Mammoth and several Darkballs. Ethan slashed at several Heartless as Ash and Leaf struck down some down. Ash casts a balloon spell as Leaf casts a water spell, hitting the Heartless.
"Chimchar! Go!" Luxas called out. His Pokéball came out to battle against the Heartless. "Power-Up Punch on that Heartless!" Lucas pointed at the Solid Armor, so Chimchar lands a punch on the Solid Armor, so the Land Armor came at the Chimp Pokémon and lands a punch on him. "Chimchar!" Chimchar got up on his feet. "Flame Wheel!" Chimchar rolled at the Land Armor, hitting it. "That's awesome, Chimchar! Keep it up!" The Land Armor gave Chimchar a bash, hitting him. "Chimchar, no!" The Land Armor was slowly approaching the Chimp Pokémon. "Chimchar!" He started to run toward his partner.
"Lucas, no!" Riku shouted. Lucas gets in front of his Chimchar.
"You leave him alone!" Lucas said. The Land Armor prepares to punch him. Dawn had struck down a Stray Cat when she saw Lucas in danger.
"Lucas!" Dawn gasped as she ran toward him. They all heard Dawn's voice as they saw Dawn running toward him. Lucas shuts his eyes as a flash of light came and Lucas swings his arm and a clanging sound is heard. Lucas opened his eyes and he gasped at what he saw.
A Keyblade appeared in Lucas's hand. The blade of the Keyblade is dark blue with Dialga's gray metallic portions of light blue stripes. Dialga's crest acts as the teeth. The guard is its chest plate with the crystal in the middle. The token is a miniature Dialga in its Origin Form. This Keyblade shall be known as the Brilliant Diamond Dialga.
"I don't believe it. It's a Keyblade. I have a Keyblade, too," Lucas said.
"Chimchar," Chimchar said.
"Let's fight together, Chimchar," Lucas said.
"Char," Chimchar said.
Lucas and Chimchar rushed at the Heartless and they worked together, taking down the attacking Heartless. Chimchar scratched at a Tornado Step as Lucas slashed at a Wizard with his new Keyblade. Lucas and Chimchar worked together to defeat the Heartless.
"Look at Lucas go!" Sora said.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu said.
"That would mean Lucas is another Guardian of Kingdom Hearts," Ash said.
"Don't get distracted! Keep fighting the Heartless!" Rei said.
With that said, Lucas and Dawn worked together as they struck down the Large Armor, the Clay Armor, Solid Armor, and Land Armor as the rest of the other Keyblade wielders have struck down the other Heartless instead of the Behemoth. It causes dark spheres to rain from the sky. Lucas smacked the Behemoth on the horn, hurting it. That gave him an idea.
"That's its weak spot. Everyone! Aim for the horn!" Lucas called out. With that said, they all went for the horn as Kairi casts a gravity spell on it, making it lean forward. They kept on fighting the Behemoth right until the horn was slashed off by Lucas. The Behemoth fell forward and a heart floats up in the air, making the heart vanish.
"That was great thinking on your part, Lucas. You figured out that Heartless's weak spot before any of us, and that is what won this fight. And from what I had witnessed, it was you desire to protect your Chimchar that awakened the power within you. Your light has truly shined today," Rei said.
"I couldn't let Chimchar's heart be taken by the Heartless. And when I thought I was done for, this appeared in my hand," Lucas said, holding his Keyblade. "And you know the rest."
"Yes. Lucas, how would you like to learn about the ways of the Keyblade from me? I can teach you if you let me," Rei said.
"I'm all in, Master," Lucas said.
"Then, welcome to the Union, Lucas," Rei said. Lucas looked around and saw how they all smiled at him. They were happy that Lucas was now a Keyblade wielder, especially Dawn.
"That's awesome, Lucas! That means we're classmates again!" Dawn said.
"And I think it's a very good thing, Dawn," Lucas said.
Meanwhile, in Count Ernesh's mansion, he felt a tremor and he knew what it meant. His butler knocked on his door in his study.
"Enter," Count Ernesh said. His butler entered the room.
"Sir, Lord Insidious has requested to speak with you at once," the butler said.
"I shall not keep him waiting," Count Ernesh said, standing up from his chair and left the room. He entered Lord Insidious's chambers and kneeled to him. "Lord Insidious, you summoned me?"
"Another Guardian of Kingdom Hearts has been revealed. Have you sensed it?" Insidious asked.
"Yes, Master. I had just sensed it just the same as you," Count Ernesh said.
"It was my understanding you have sent three of your apprentices to deal with them, did you not? Please, explain why it's taking so long for you to do so?" Insidious asked.
"I assure you, my lord, they will meet your expectations," Count Ernesh said.
"I can hope you are not putting too much hope in them, are you not?" Insidious asked.
"Of course not, my Master. I will address this with them soon. I will send in another one of our agents to dispatch them when it is necessary," Count Ernesh said.
"It is my understanding Darklight has sent an apprentice to deal with them, but he has a much different goal in mind," Insidious said.
"I have absolute faith this plan will not fail, my Master. And you will see for yourself it can be done," Count Ernesh said.
"I can hope you can do so, my friend, but need I remind you of the price for failure?" Insidious asked.
"There will be no need for it, my lord. I will not fail in my goal," Count Ernesh said.
Back in Sinnoh, Lucas has begun his training learning some of the skills she had already taught the others. Lucas was a quick learner.
"You're going well, Lucas. Not bad," Rei said.
"Thanks, Master. I'm just glad I can learn what I can from you," Lucas said.
"Just because Dawn is in the same class as you, right?" Rei asked.
"Um," Lucas said before he started to blush and stammered. "I... That is... I... The thing is..." Rei raised her hand to silence him.
"Don't explain. It's perfectly fine. And there is no rule against Keyblade wielders falling in love with other Keyblade wielders. You had been in love with Dawn since childhood, right?"
"Yeah, since kindergarten," Lucas said.
"And you're worried that she won't have any feelings for you, right?" Rei asked.
"That did cross my mind, Master," Lucas said.
"I'm sure she does. Just do what Brendan and May did," Rei said.
"What?" Lucas asked.
"Confess your feelings when you feel it's right. Just don't take too long to do it," Rei said.
"I'll try not to," Lucas said.
"Good. Now, let's get back to more training.
Now Lucas has a Keyblade of his very own, so the lights are shining brighter than ever, but how large will the lingering shadow will grow from Insidious, Count Ernesh, and their followers? Just wait and stick around if you wanna find out.
