Episode 354: Reversing the Charges
Where we last left off, Sora had defeated Mr. Saridakis and his Crawdaunt in a Pokémon battle and successfully saved a lake from being demolished.
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel were about to take off when Galea has approached them.
"Now then, missy, my granddaughter tells me you're entering Pokémon Contests, yes?" Galea asked.
"Yes, ma'am," Kairi said.
"Well, luck would have it that there's a Pokémon Contest taking place in Porta Vista," Galea said.
"Porta Vista? We can definitely head there," Kairi said.
"Sure can," Sora said. "We can hope Ven, Yuki, my aunt and uncle can see you in a Pokémon Contest," Sora said.
"Not to mention, everyone over at the Bay of Burgers. And it should be peaceful since that awful Silas is in prison for his crimes," Kairi said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
Sora and Kairi said their goodbyes to Tiffany and Galea and took off for Porta Vista. Kairi has exchanged Hitmontop for Bulbasaur and sent Gardevoir back to Professor Oak's lab to make room for the newborn Pokémon from inside. Sora exchanged Gallade for Donphan.
A little while after leaving the lake, the couple made a stop for a break. Sora is polishing his Pokéballs as Kairi is polishing her egg.
"There, nice and shiny," Kairi said.
"Togeti," Togetic said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"You know, it takes me back. I remember the day you hatched, Togetic. It was one of the greatest days of my life," Kairi said.
"Yeah, I remember. You had Togetic ever since he hatched from that egg I found back at Grampa Gorge. After I caught Aerodactyl and then Jigglypuff coming along and doodling on my face after falling asleep," Sora said.
"Yeah. And right before we left for the Hoenn region, Togepi evolved into a Togetic when we were rescuing him from that awful Colonel Hansen," Kairi said.
"But I am wondering what kind of Pokémon the egg is going to hatch into," Sora said.
"We're gonna have to wait and see. And it probably won't be long," Kairi said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel continued on their way as they head for Porta Vista for Kairi's next Pokémon Contest. They stopped when they hear the sound of thunder.
"You hear that?" Sora asked.
"Sounds like rain," Kairi said.
They looked and saw dark clouds hovering over to twin mountains in a sea of trees. Lightning crashes down on the mountain.
"This is weird. How could lightning just be on those mountain tops?" Sora asked.
"I don't know, but I do agree it's strange," Kairi said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
Just then, a burst of yellow bolts of electricity erupts from the mountain tops.
"Whoa!" Sora and Kairi exclaimed with surprise.
"What the heck is that?" Kairi asked.
"Only one way to find out," Sora said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel rushed to the source of the disturbance. They gasped when they saw some Oddish, Gloom, Vileplume, Bellossom, and Bellsprout were laying on the ground, injured.
"Look at those Pokémon. They're hurt pretty bad," Kairi said.
"Man, what could have done this?" Sora asked.
"You don't think it could have been the work of Unversed or Nobodies?" Kairi asked.
"Seems like it. Heartless would have taken their hearts, but we haven't seen any around," Sora said.
"Bi, Bi, Bi, Bi!" A voice yelled. They looked around and they followed the voice to its source. It turns out to be an Elekid. It was picking a fight with an Exeggutor.
"An Elekid and an Exeggutor. Looks like a battle," Sora said. Elekid spins its arms around and around. Elekid fires a Thunderbolt, shocking the Coconut Pokémon. Sora, Kairi, and the Pokémon were shocked by what they saw.
"Stop that! Exeggutor is hurt enough!" Kairi exclaimed.
Exeggutor fired an Egg Bomb, but Elekid fired another Thunderbolt, destroying the egg and shocking Exeggutor again. The Coconut Pokémon was knocked out, forcing Sora and Pikachu to step in.
"This has gone far enough!" Sora said.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
Seeing it as a challenge, Elekid spins its arms around again and fired a much more powerful Electric-type attack.
"It's Thunder this time!" Kairi exclaimed.
"Dodge that!" Sora called out. Pikachu avoids Elekid's overpowered Thunder. "Iron Tail!" Pikachu swings his tail to land an Iron Tail, but Elekid dodged and spins its arms around again and fired another Thunder, hitting Pikachu on the mark. Pikachu had taken a lot of damage. "Quick Attack!" Pikachu charges at the Elekid, but gave Pikachu a powerful shove. Elekid then comes in with a Thunder Punch.
"Watch out! Elekid's using Thunder Punch!" Kairi gasped. Thinking quick, Sora took out Donphan's Pokéball and threw it.
"Donphan! Go!" Sora called out. Donphan came out and came to Pikachu's rescue before Elekid was in striking range. Luckily for Donphan, he's completely immune to Elekid's Thunder Punch. "Nice save! Rollout!" Donphan rolls into a ball and plowed into Elekid. That only makes Elekid angry. So angry, it unleashed Thunderbolt all around. The couple and their Pokémon try to keep out of Elekid's range of fire. "Kairi!"
"Sora!" Kairi cried as she tripped. Her egg goes flying. She gasped. "My egg!" The container gets lodged between its ears. This angers Elekid even further and unleashed another Thunder. Sora and Kairi as smoke erupts from all around.
Seeing the burst of yellow electricity, an elderly man gasped in shock.
"Not again," the elderly man said. He rushes to the source. He makes it just in time as the smoke clears. "Thank goodness I made it. Are you alright?"
"Yeah, we're fine," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"No, we're not fine," Kairi said. Sora and Pikachu looked at her. Angel is filled with concern as Kairi is distraught. "That Elekid has my egg! She just took off with it!"
"What?! Elekid took your egg?!" Sora gasped.
"Pika?!" Pikachu also gasped.
"I was afraid that Elekid was at it again," the elderly man said.
"What do you know about Elekid?" Sora asked.
"From what I can tell, that Elekid has been a nuisance for all the Pokémon living in this forest. Elekid has been attacking Pokémon that crossed her and every other Pokémon just for the fun of it," the elderly man said.
"Sounds like a bully," Sora said.
"You know, that is the most perfect and accurate description to give that yellow rascal, sonny. I'm just sorry you kids got caught in the middle of this mess," the elderly man said.
"These things has a way of happening," Sora said.
"I suppose that's true. Now, young lady, you said Elekid has your egg, yes?" The elderly man asked.
"Yes. And I need to get it back before the unthinkable happens," Kairi said.
"I completely agree with you, sweetheart. And I will do what I can to put an end to this terrible ordeal and put it to bed once and for all," the elderly man said.
"We appreciate your help, sir," Kairi said.
"I am more than happy to help. By the way, my name is Elmer," the elderly man introduced himself.
"I'm Sora and this is Pikachu, and this is my Donphan," Sora introduced.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said as Donphan made his sound.
"I'm Kairi and this is Angel," Kairi introduced.
"Eevee," Angel said.
Over to Elekid, she keeps on pulling the egg container, trying to pull it out.
Not to far, Rei is continuing her teachings to Chase and Elaine as they practiced with their Keyblades.
"You're doing a great job, you two. You've both improved since day 1," Rei said.
"Thank you, Master," Elaine said.
"It's because of the training you've been giving us. It feels like I can take on some stronger Heartless," Chase said.
"Don't get overconfident, Chase. You have to remember that there will be times when you will be driven into a corner. You have to be quick both physically and mentally. Only then, you can turn the tide on your opponent," Rei said.
"I get it, Master," Chase said. Volt and Maple's ears perked up.
"Vee," Maple said.
"Pika," Volt said.
Chase, Elaine, and Rei turned to the Pikachu and Eevee.
"Volt, what do you hear?" Chase asked.
"What's wrong, Maple?" Elaine asked.
They got their answer when they saw Elekid with Kairi's egg still wedged between Elekid's horns.
"Who's that Pokémon?" Chase asked, taking out his Rotom Phone and scanned it.
Elekid, the Electric Pokémon

In order for it to generate the electricity in its body, Elekid rotates its arms around and around.
"So, it's an Elekid," Chase said.
"What's that between Elekid's horns?" Elaine asked.
"It looks like an egg container. Wait, that's Kairi's egg," Rei said.
"The poor Elekid," Elaine said.
Elekid kept on pulling until she successfully pulled it out. Elekid then turned to the Keyblade wiedlers. Chase was starting have a bad feeling about the way Elekid was looking at them.
"Uh, why do I have the feeling that Elekid doesn't look happy to see us?" Chase asked.
"You're not the only one, Chase. I'm having it, too," Rei said. Elekid spins her arms her fast violently fast and fires a powerful electric attack. "That's Thunder! Dodge!" Chase, Elaine, Rei, Volt and Maple managed to avoid Elekid's attack, but she launched another Thunder, hitting Volt and Maple, sending them flying, much to Chase and Elaine's dismay.
"Volt!" Chase gasped.
"Maple!" Elaine also gasped.
"Watch out!" Rei shouted as they dodged another Thunder sent at them. Luckily, the trees managed to protect them. Seeing no point in pursuing them, Elekid took her leave of the trio. "It's gone."
"Man, I can't believe that happened. Volt and Maple got zapped by that Elekid and we didn't even do anything," Chase said.
"It's not your fault, Chase. That Elekid is the blame for this, so we gotta find Volt and Maple," Elaine said.
"Elaine's right. They flew into that direction, so we're gonna have to follow it," Rei said. She then sees Kairi's egg and takes it in her arms. "We gotta return this egg to Kairi at once."
"Right," Chase and Elaine said, agreeing with their master.
They went off to find Kairi and return the egg to her.
Meanwhile, Sora, Kairi, Elmer, Pikachu, Angel, and Donhpan continue their pursuit of Elekid and the egg.
"Man, not a sign of Elekid," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"I can only hope my egg is still intact," Kairi said.
"Don't worry, Kairi. That egg is in a super-protective container, so it can't be smashed that easily," Sora said.
"I hope you're right, Sora," Kairi said.
"Now, Elmer, you have any idea about how come Elekid is doing all this and how long it's been going on?" Sora asked.
"Actually, I'm just as clueless as you are. But I'm going have to make a guess; I would have to say it's been going on for three days now. In fact, that's how long I've noticed it," Elmer said.
"Three days?" Sora asked.
"Yes. And I'm only guessing, mind you. Anyway, I first noticed when I was out, collecting some firewood when I heard a sound. It figured it was a Pokémon, so I went to look into it. You can imagine my surprise when I saw it was that Elekid. She was picking a fight with a wild Snorlax. I couldn't tell rather if it was a squabble over territory or food, but I could tell it was ugly. The Snorlax started things off when it fired an Ice Beam at the Elekid, but that Elekid has let out her Thunder and it overpowered Snorlax's Ice Beam like it was nothing. And I was even more surprised. That was the most devastating Thunder I had ever seen in my whole life. And Snorlax just took the hit and it was enough to bring it down. Never in my wildest dreams I have seen anything like it. A small Elekid overpowering a larger opponent like Snorlax with just one hit. After whooping Snorlax, Elekid has been attacking some of the other Pokémon, just terrorizing them just for laughs. I had heard of being a bad winner, but this was over the line. Ever since then, I have been keeping tabs on that hooligan and knew she was gonna strike again," Elmer explained.
"Didn't it ever occur to you to try to stop that Elekid?" Sora asked.
"Trust me when I say this, I have tried. I tried several times, and I still have the sores from the injuries I got from trying to stop that yellow delinquent. Unfortunately, I found out the hard way that it was so much easier said than done. Today was no exception for me. And that's when I found you youngsters," Elmer said. Sora and Kairi saw Volt and Maple laying unconscious.
"A Pikachu and an Eevee," Sora said.
"Not just any Pikachu and Eevee. It's Volt and Maple!" Kairi said.
"You're right. It is Volt and Maple, and they're hurt," Sora said as Pikachu and Angel went over to the injured Pokémon.
"Volt, Maple, wake up!" - Pikachu subtitle.
"Tell us you're alright!" - Angel subtitle.
"It looks like Elekid did this to them," Sora said.
"I agree. Chase and Elaine must have saw Elekid and end up the same way," Kairi said.
"We should help these two," Elmer said.
Over to Chase, Elaine, and Rei, they walk through the forest, looking for Kairi.
"I still can't get over what that Elekid did to us. It just attacked us unprovoked and everything!" Chase said.
"I know. For as long we've been Trainers, we were never separated from Volt and Maple once," Elaine said.
"I can understand your concern for your Pokémon. I'd feel the same way if it was one of my own," Rei said.
"I hope they're safe by now," Elaine said.
"Me too," Chase said.
Back with Sora, Kairi, Elmer, and the Pokémon, Volt and Maple regained consciousness and they're riding on Donphan's back since they could use the ride.
"No signs of Chase or Elaine," Sora said.
"Or of Elekid or my egg," Kairi said.
A burst of electricity burst through the shrubbery.
"Look out!" Elmer exclaimed as Elekid jumped into their path.
"Elekid!" Sora exclaimed.
"She doesn't have my egg! Where's my egg, Elekid? What did you do with it?" Kairi asked. Elekid came at Pikachu with a Thunderbolt. Elekid then ran away once again. "She's getting away!" She went after her. Sora, Elmer, and the Pokémon followed her and they see Elekid's gone again.
"Lost her again," Sora sighed.
"Yup, but she's gonna make herself known again, you betcha," Elmer said.
"Yeah, but something about that seems really off," Sora said.
"What do ya mean?" Elmer asked.
"Well, that Elekid is super-juiced, and we got a taste of it, but Elekid should have lost all that electricity by now," Sora said.
"You know, Sora, you're right. Elekid does seem to have more electricity than any normal Elekid. You remember when Pikachu got sick that one time?" Kairi asked.
"Yeah, it was back at Gringey City. Pikachu had more electricity than he should have until we let it out when those Heartless attacked," Sora said, remembering the Slime Heartless attacking the power plant.
"What if the same thing is happening to Elekid?" Kairi asked.
"You know, I'm starting to think the same thing. I reckon it has something to do with them clouds up there," Elmer said, pointing to the clouds as lightning crashes down.
"Same here. Elekid must live in those mountains, so she ended up absorbing all of that unneeded electricity into her body, so she was attacking everyone and everything to let it all out," Kairi said.
"Man, no wonder Elekid went ballistic," Sora said. Sora then started to get an idea. "Maybe we can fight fire with fire. Or in this case, electricity with electricity." Kairi, Elmer, and the Pokémon all looked at Sora.
"Sora, you're not suggesting what I think you're suggesting, are you?" Kairi asked.
"Fraid so. We're gonna have Pikachu absorb some of that lightning into his body," Sora said.
"I get what you're up to. You're planning on giving your Pikachu extra electric power to matchup against Elekid, ain't ya?" Elmer asked.
"Yeah. That way, the two of them will be evenly matched until Elekid has burned off that extra power," Sora said.
"But if we do that, we will put Pikachu at risk," Kairi said.
"You're right, Kairi. The danger is real, but it's a risk we can afford to make. But the choice is up to Pikachu," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said. He looked up to the lightning. He knew Sora was right, Elekid had to he stopped. He thought and thought until he made up his mind. "Pika, Pika."
"Okay, let's do it," Sora said.
With that said, Pikachu stands on a stump while Sora, Kairi, Elmer, and the other Pokémon are at a safe distance. They waited for a few seconds before lightning strikes Pikachu. The Mouse Pokémon began to absorb the electric power. He absorbed more than he can handle until the lightning has ceased.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Great job, buddy. Now, you can go toe-to-toe against Elekid," Sora said.
"Pikachu!" Volt said.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu said.
"Bi, bi, bi!" A familiar voice shouted. They saw Elekid arriving and growled.
"There she is," Kairi said.
"Elekid must have saw it," Elmer said.
"The timing couldn't be perfect. You ready to go, Pikachu?" Sora asked.
"Pika," Pikachu nodded.
"Thought so," Sora said.
Electric sparks comes out of their bodies, ready to battle.
"Sora, you gotta remember to have Pikachu use Thunderbolt when Elekid unleashes Thunder. Only then can we hope Elekid can lose that extra power," Kairi said.
"Gotcha," Sora said, taking his girlfriend's advice. "Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Pikachu fired Thunderbolt at Elekid, but the Electric Pokémon dodged and came at the Mouse Pokémon with a Thunder Punch. "Dodge that!" Pikachu quickly dodged Elekid's Thunder Punch, making her punch a rock instead. "That was close." Elekid then comes at Pikachu with another Thunder Punch. "Electro Ball!" Pikachu unleashes a more powerful Electro Ball, hitting Elekid on the mark. "Come on, Elekid. Let out that Thunder." As luck would have it, Elekid unleashed Thunder. "Thunderbolt, now!" Pikachu unleashed Thunderbolt and used it to block Elekid's Thunder. The two Pokémon held on as they locked their attacks. By then, Chase, Elaine, and Rei came and witnessed the battle at hand.
"Look, it's that Elekid," Chase said.
"And it's battling a Pikachu," Elaine said. Rei saw Sora, Kairi, and the other Pokémon.
"Not just any Pikachu. It's Sora's Pikachu," Rei said.
"Maple!" Elaine exclaimed.
"Volt!" Chase said.
Hearing their voices, Volt and Maple turned to see their Trainers and they beamed. Kairi saw the trio. She saw her Master with her egg.
"My egg!" Kairi said.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
"Kairi, what's going on?" Rei asked.
"We were passing by when we saw Elekid here, so she was picking a fight with the local Pokémon, so we figured out she has absorbed too much electricity from the lightning coming from those clouds on those mountains. So, we're having Pikachu and Elekid battle each other until she loses all that extra power," Kairi explained. "Anyway, where did you find my egg?"
"We got to it when we saw the same Elekid have the egg container lodged in Elekid's horns, so it was trying to get it out and she did. She then attacked us. So, we figured this egg is yours, so we're returning it to you," Rei said.
"I appreciate it, Master," Kairi said.
Pikachu and Elekid kept on using their electric attacks, letting out all of that excess power until the two of them have ceased, leaving the two of them tired and drained of power.
"Did that work?" Elmer asked.
"Looks like it worked. Pikachu and Elekid should be back to normal, now," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Pika," Volt said.
"Volt!" Chase said, running up to his partner.
"Maple!" Elaine said, running up to her partner.
"Pika!" Volt said.
"Eevee!" Maple said.
Both Volt and Maple ran up to their partners and they embraced them.
"Volt, I'm so glad you're okay," Chase said.
"Thank goodness you are safe," Elaine said.
"Pikachu," Volt said.
"Eevee," Maple said.
Rei then approached Kairi with her egg. She presents it to her.
"I believe this belongs to you," Rei said, presenting the egg to her.
"Thank you for finding my egg for me," Kairi said.
"Anytime, Kairi. I know you'd do the same for me and the others," Rei said.
Later, Elekid shakes hands with Pikachu.
"Sorry for putting you through that whole mess. I hope you can forgive me." - Elekid subtitle.
"It should be alright as long as you don't go and make a habit out of it." - Pikachu subtitle.
"Don't you worry about a thing. I promise it won't be a problem. I think I'm going to find a new place in the forest since I don't want to end up getting that extra juice again. But I can tell you that I have a lot of apologies to give." - Elekid subtitle.
"I'm sure everyone will forgive you, Elekid. It wasn't your fault for absorbing the lightning." - Angel subtitle.
"Yeah, you didn't know what was gonna happen to you." - Maple subtitle.
"Yeah, what they said." - Volt subtitle.
"So, now Elekid is back to normal, we can now move on," Sora said.
"I reckon so. Good luck in your journey, youngsters," Elmer said.
"Thank you," Kairi said.
"So, Kairi, you heading for another Pokémon Contest?" Chase asked.
"Yeah. In Porta Vista," Kairi said.
"Porta Vista? Sora's relatives lives there, don't they?" Elaine pointed out.
"They do. We can all go together," Rei said.
"Thanks for your help, Elmer," Kairi said.
"Anytime. Be sure ya take good care of that egg, ya hear?" Elmer asked.
"Loud and clear," Kairi said, making everyone laugh.
With that said, they continue on their way to Porta Vista for Kairi's next Contest. Not only has Kairi gotten her egg back, but the entire forest can now breathe easily since Elekid is no longer overpowered. Now the journey continues on.
