Episode 435: The Keystone Pops
We open up to a scene where Wes is battling against a Trainer with a Machamp and a Marowak. Wes has his two Pokémon out which happens to be a Gliscor and Weavile. At some point, his Gligar and Sneasel have evolced thanks to the Razor Claw and the Razor Fang. They have evolved very recently, and he wanted to test them out to battle.
"Okay, Machamp! Use Ice Punch on Gliscor! Marowak! Iron Head on Weavile!" The Trainer ordered. Machamp came at Gliscor with an Ice Punch as Marowak came at Weavile with an Iron Head.
"Weavile! Use Ice Punch on Marowak! Gliscor! Use Wing Attack on Machamp!" Wes ordered. Gliscor flew right at Machamp with a Wing Attack as Weavile lands an icy punch onto Marowak. Both Pokémon have taken heavy damage due to their weakness to Wing Attack and Ice Punch. "Use Crabhammer on Marowak!" Gliscor scores a Crabhammer on the Bone Keeper Pokémon.
"Marowak! Bone Rush on Weavile! Machamp! Submission on Gliscor!" The Trainer ordered.
"Weavile! Blizzard!" Wes ordered. Weavile fired a Blizzard, freezing both Pokémon on the mark. "Gliscor! Crabhammer on Marowak! Weavile! Metal Claw on Machamp!" Gliscor and Weavile each landed a hit onto their opponents, knocking them both out. Wes has won the battle.
"Hey, you're better than I gave you credit for," the Trainer said, calling back his Machamp and Marowak. He approached Wes and shook his hand. "That was a great battle. You raised your Pokémon right."
"You did the same thing," Wes said, making his opponent smile. He took off in his own way as Wes and Rui did the same thing. They sat on a picnic blanket, looking up at the moon. Wes placed his arm around Rui's shoulder as she leaned up against him.
"It's so nice, isn't it? Sitting here and gazing at the moon with its light shining down on us, I mean," Rui said.
"It sure is, Rui. The moon is a beautiful thing, but it isn't nearly as beautiful as you are," Wes said.
"You can be so romantic," Rui said. She moved in and gave Wes a passionate kiss on the lips. Wes kisses her back as he shuts his eyes and wraps his arms around her. She does the same thing, lost in their own little world, hoping their moment of romance won't be ruined.
Meanwhile, it didn't take nearly as long as Lucas and Dawn have gotten to know their newest Pokémon. Lucas is battling a Hoothoot.
"Okay, Buizel! Aqua Jet!" Lucas ordered. Buizel uses his Aqua Jet and lands a hit on the Owl Pokémon. Hoothoot then flew right at Buizel with a Peck. "Buizel! Use Water Gun!" Buizel fired a Water Gun, hitting Hoothoot on the mark. Hoothoot fell to the ground. Lucas took out a Pokéball and threw it. Hoothoot flowed inside it and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Lucas's Pokémon Box goes off, so he decided to send his Hoothoot over to Professor Rowan's lab. "That was awesome, Buizel. Great job!"
"Bui, Bui!" Buizel said.
Over to Dawn, she was training with her new Aipom as she performs Swift to a tea, along with Focus Punch and Double Team.
"Not too bad, Aipom! You'll do great in your debut contest!" Dawn said.
"Aipom!" Aipom said, smiling. Dawn smiled back as she noticed an egg in the grass. Dawn blinked twice.
"What is that?" Dawn asked. She walked over to see it was a Togepi egg and picked it up. "It's an egg. Maybe it was left here all alone. There isn't any point in leaving it out here since I'll be taking care of the Pokémon inside it." Dawn smiled as she held the egg. Both Trainers returned to the couple who were just getting ready to train with their Keyblades.
"Hey, you guys. Glad you made it back just in time. We were about to get started to train with our Keyblade training," Sora said.
"So, what's the deal?" Lucas asked.
"Thought we would go with some combat training," Sora said.
"Just so we would stay on our toes," Kairi said.
"Well, we might as well get started," Lucas said, summoning his Brilliant Diamond Dialga and Dawn summoned her Shining Pearl Palkia. Kairi summoned her Destiny's Embrace as Sora summoned a new Keyblade in his hand. The entire Keyblade is black with white linings. The guard is triangle-shaped. The teeth are square-shaped. The token is a miniature Mr. Game Watch. This Keyblade shall be known as the Retro Game.
"Who wants to have the first go?" Sora asked.
Sora, Kairi, Lucas, and Dawn started their combat training with their Keyblades, unaware of an event that was about to take place.
There were two teenaged boys doing an idiotic chuckle as they tossed a ball around.
"Hey! I bet I can hit that thing right there!" One of the boys said, pointing to a Hallowed Stone Tower.
"Go for it, dude!" The other boy said. He threw the ball as hard as he could and the tower immediately crumbles into bricks, which begin to glow on their own. "Whoa! That was cool!" He chuckled. Dark clouds gathered in the sky.
Back with Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, and the Pokémon looked up to the sky and saw the dark clouds in the sky.
"It's getting cloudy," Dawn said.
"I don't remember seeing anything about rain tonight. And I thought it was the weather man being wrong," Sora said.
"Pika, Pika," Pikachu said.
"I don't think those clouds look natural," Kairi said.
"Vee," Angel said.
A cold breeze blows and lightning flashes in the sky. A lightning bolt strikes in the distance, so they decide to go and investigate to see what it was. Back with the two teens, it was revealed to be an Odd Keystone in the rubble and it has taken the shape of a Spiritomb, and it looked very angry.
"Hey, look," the second boy Stone
"Cool, what is it?" The first boy asked.
"I don't know, but it looks cool," the second boy said, chuckled. Spiritomb fired a Hyper Beam, hitting them. This caught the attention of Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, and the Pokémon as it did with Wes and Rui when their moment was ruined. Back at the two boys, they both chuckled idiotically from the blast. "Cool!"
Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Piplup came running to the scene, fearing it might be a Heartless, a Nobody, or an Unversed. What they found instead was a Spiritomb.
"Isn't that a Spiritomb?" Sora asked.
"Looks like one to me," Lucas said.
Spiritomb fired a Shadow Ball, making everyone dodge. Spiritomb then fired a Hyper Beam.
"Hey, what was that for?!" Sora exclaimed. Spiritomb takes off in the sky, leaving them puzzled.
"Okay, that was weird," Dawn said.
"You took the words right out of my mouth," Sora said.
"Chu," Pikachu said.
"You think there might have been a Hallowed Stone Tower around here?" Kairi asked.
"If there was, then it's not there anymore," a familiar voice said. Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, Pikachu, Angel, and Piplup saw Wes and Rui whom had just shown up.
"Wes, Rui," Kairi said.
"It's good to know that someone we know is here," Sora said.
"Well, we were just in the area," Wes said, irritated that his romantice moment with Rui was ruined by the gathering of clouds, the sudden appearance of cold air and lightning.
"Any idea what happened? You mentioned something about a stone tower," Rui pointed out.
"Well, yeah. Because we saw a Spiritomb when we got here just before you did, and he just attacked us with a Shadow Ball and a Hyper Beam, like we did something to him," Kairi said.
"A Spiritomb? From what I heard about that kind of Pokémon, it is said to be imprisoned for fie centuries for something it did in the past," Wes said.
"Yeah, but that one was different from the Spiritomb I caught. I think my Spiritomb was just a glutton while the one that we saw was a total troublemaker," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"But where did he go?" Dawn asked.
"Probably miles away by now," Sora said.
"You think so?" Lucas asked.
"I don't know, but when we do see that Spiritomb again, then we're gonna have to deal with him," Sora said.
On the next morning, Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, Wes, Rui, Pikachu, Angel, and Piplup are walking down the road, still thinking about Spiritomb from the previous night and wondering what was Spiritomb was doing out there. They came close to a village and saw some villagers tending to some injured Pokémon.
"Raticate, speak to me," one of the villagers said.
"Stay with me, Parascect," another villager said.
They knew that wasn't a pretty sight, so they rushed over to see what's wrong.
"What happened?" Sora asked.
"Some kind of creepy Pokémon just attacked us from just out of nowhere, and we didn't even do anything to it," the villager tending to Raticate said.
"You don't think it was that same one from last night, do you?" Lucas asked.
"Most likely since most of us did see him last night," Kairi said.
"IT WAS SPIRITOMB!" An old woman yelled, scaring everyone out of their wits. "THE EVIL SPIRIT THAT HAS BEEN REBORN, IT HAS TO BE TRUE!"
"Lady, don't scare us like that!" Sora said.
"The seal that was holding up that Spiritomb has been smashed," the old woman said.
"Do you mind telling us what you know about that Spiritomb, ma'am?" Kairi asked.
"Alright there, just come with me and listen up, but if ya need to go to the bathroom, go now, because I don't want to see anybody doing a pee-pee dance while I'm telling it," the old woman said. A few moments later, they sat before the old woman to hear what she knows. "There's a legend that our village shares that tells how it was sealed away."
"Sealed away?" Dawn asked.
"You heard right. There was a wicked Pokémon called Spiritomb. It caused terrible trouble for the folks living around here. It did everything it could to make their lives miserable. It was always messing with the fruit the villagers were trying to pick and destroying everyone's homes. Nothing could be done to stop Spiritomb and those poor villagers were at their wits end. That is until, one day, this knight came to our village. And this knight had a Pikachu with him. The villagers told the knight about their troubles, and without needing any further convincing, the knight challenged the evil Spiritomb to a battle on behalf of the villagers. The knight and his Pikachu defeated Spiritomb and sealed it in a keystone and placed it in a Hallowed Stone Tower to make certain it never causes anyone any trouble again...until now."
"There had to be a Hallowed Stone Tower, and someone smashed it," Wes said.
"But who would be dumb enough to do that?" Lucas asked.
"Ma'am, could you show us where the Hallowed Stone Tower you're talking about is located?" Sora asked.
"Of course. Follow me," the old woman said, obliging them. She took them to the area where they were and they saw the rubble.
"So there was a Hallowed Stone Tower around here after all," Sora said.
"It's nothing but a pile of rubble!" The old woman said. She turned to them with an angry glare. "You kids did this, didn't you?" Everyone all winced.
"No! We didn't! I swear!" Sora said, waving his arms. Wes spotted something in the rubble.
"I know what caused it," Wes said, heading for the rubble and pulled out a ball. "Some idiot threw this ball at the tower." He spotted the teen boys sleeping ahead of them. "And that idiot is here right now." They head over to the sleeping teens and they saw the group looking at them. They chuckled at the old woman.
"Hey, check it out. Some old ghoul is staring at us," the second boy said.
"GHOUL, AM I?!" The old woman angrily exclaimed, hitting him in the head. The first boy just chuckled at that.
"That was cool! Is he dead?" The first boy asked. She conked him as well.
"Man, these guys are so dumb," Sora said.
"You can say that again, Sora. Really dumb," Rui said.
"Those two will paying big-time through the nose for this!" The old woman said.
"Hey! Granny, help!" The called out to the group. "That Spiritomb's attacking us again!" Everyone all gasped and rushed to the village. Spiritomb was attacking the village again.
"There he is!" Kairi said.
"Okay, let's do this thing," Sora said.
"Right," Kairi said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Drifloon!" Her Pokéball opened and Drifloon came out. "Use Ominous Wind!" Drifloon blew her Ominous Wind at Spiritomb, but he responed by firing a Dark Pulse, hitting the Balloon Pokémon on the mark, knocking her out. Kairi called her Drifloon back.
"Good effort, but it's my turn!" Wes said, taking out a Great Ball and threw it. "Granbull! You're going in!" His Great Ball opened and his Granbull came out to battle.
"Good call. A Fairy-type Pokémon like Granbull has the edge over a Dark-type like Spiritomb," Rui said.
"Granbull! Use Play Rough!" Wes ordered. Granbull rushes right at Spiritomb and began to beat him in a dust cloud. Spiritomb is sent flying. "Now, use Fire Fang!" Granbull jumped in the air and lands a fiery bite on Spiritomb and he fires a powerful Hyper Beam on it, knocking Granbull out.
"Better get him before he is fully recharged! Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu gave Spiritomb a blast of Thunderbolt. "Now, use Iron Tail!" Pikachu swung his tail and Spiritomb lands right on the ground. Spiritomb gets back up and fires Dark Pulse at Pikachu. "Dodge with Quick Attack!" Pikachu avoids Dark Pulse with his speed attack. "Iron Tail again!" Pikachu swings his tail at Spiritomb. Spiritomb attacks with Shadow Ball. Pikachu dodges. "That Spiritomb is tough alright."
Spiritomb fires Dark Pulse right at Pikachu and he dodges again. Spiritomb fires Dark Pulse right at the ground, making a dust cloud to cover his escpae.
"Where did he go?" Dawn asked.
"Spiritomb escaped from us again," Wes said.
"He'll be back," Kairi said.
"And we'll have to set a trap for Spiritomb; a trap he won't resist," Sora said. "Okay, here's the plan."
Getting the plan into effect, Pikachu got in the middle of a flower field, waiting for Spiritomb, knowing the Forbidden Pokémon would launch an attack on him since remembering the legend they were told about.
Spiritomb saw Pikachu, thinking he was letting his guard down, so Spiritomb came right for Pikachu.
"Pika!" Pikachu shouted.
"Prinplup! Hydro Pump!" Sora ordered.
"Umbreon! Dark Pulse!" Wes ordered.
Prinplup and Umbreon fired Hydro Pump and Dark Pulse, hitting the Forbidden Pokémon on the mark. Spiritomb saw Sora and the others.
"Hey, Spiritomb! Over here!" Sora taunted. He and Pikachu blew a raspberry at the forbidden Pokémon, infuriating him and making him chase them both. Sora and Pikachu ran as Spiritomb fires Dark Pulse right at the both of them. "Okay, Pikachu! Quick Attack!" Pikachu ran circles around Spiritomb, making him follow his movements. "Use Thunderbolt!" Pikachu gave Spiritomb a shock. Spiritomb fires Hyper Beam right at Pikachu and he quickly dodges the attack. Spiritomb kept up the battle with Pikachu. "Okay, Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Pikachu fires Thunderbolt again as Spiritomb has taken a bad hit from the Mouse Pokémon, but he refused to call it quits. "Thunderbolt again!" Pikachu fires Thunderbolt right at Spiritomb as dodged and fired Shadow Ball and Pikachu dodges. He was getting tired from all the running. Spiritomb comes right at Pikachu with Giga Impact.
"That's Giga Impact!" Rui said.
"Get out of there!" Kairi pleaded.
"Eevee!" Angel also gasped.
Spiritomb kept coming right at Pikachu to finish the battle once and for all.
"Feint Attack!" Wes ordered. Umbreon uses Feint Attack onto Spiritomb, hitting him. "Use Dark Pulse!" Umbreon fired Dark Pulse, hitting the Forbidden Pokémon on the mark.
"Thanks for the save, Wes!" Sora said.
"It's the least I can do, Sora. How about we take this Pokémon at once?" Wes asked.
"Sure thing, Wes," Sora said. He turned to his partner. "Okay, Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt!" Pikachu fired Thunderbolt right at Spiritomb, but fired Hyper Beam to block Pikachu's Thunderbolt. Umbreon fired Dark Pulse along with Pikachu's Thunderbolt, combining into one attack. Spiritomb kept on firing Hyper Beam, but the combined attack overpowered Spiritomb's Hyper Beam and struck him hard.
"Alright, Sora, you wanna wrap this up?" Wes asked.
"Sure thing. Great! Volt Tackle!" Sora ordered. Pikachu ran towards Spiritomb with the full force of his body. Spiritomb fires Dark Pulse, but it cuts through Spritomb's Dark Pulse like butter and lands a hit onto the Forbidden Pokémon.
"It can't be! Could this boy be the descendant of the brave knught who has defeated Spiritomb 500 years ago?" The old woman asked as she smiled greatly.
"Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu gave Spiritomb another Thunderbolt, making Spritomb fall right at the ground. Wes took out a Great Ball and threw it at Spritomb. He flows inside and it wobbles around and around, knowing he might not stay in there for long. It went at it for quite a few seconds as everyone was watching anxiously.
"Come on," Wes said. It kept on wobbling until stars swirls around it to confirm the catch. He sent the Great Ball with his other Pokémon.
"I didn't expect you to catch Spiritomb, Wes. Why did you do that?" Sora asked.
"Well, I figured one of us would catch Spiritomb instead of putting him back inside, and I could train Spiritomb like the others," Wes said.
With Spiritomb captured by Wes, the village was safe once again, and the villagers can now live in peace without living in constant fear of another Spiritomb attack.
On the very next morning, Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, Wes, Rui, Pikachu, Angel, and Piplup were getting ready to depart.
"Thank you for the meal and letting stay for the night," Sora said.
"No, sonny. The village should be thanking you. Now, a new legend has been born. Legend of not one brave knight and his loyal Pikachu, but two brave knights and his loyal Pikachu and Umbreon who not only defeated Spiritomb, but tammed it as well," the old woman said.
"Knight? Me?" Sora asked surprised.
"You got a knight's blood flowing in your veins, so I believe it," Kairi said.
"We made a legend," Rui said.
"I never thought of being called a knight, but I like it," Wes said.
As they said their goodbyes to the village, they continued on towards Solaceon Town. A man from the village walked up to her.
"You sure letting that kid keep that Spiritomb a good idea? I mean, what if he can't control it?" The man asked.
"Just as long we don't have to worry about it escaping again, who really cares? Besides, I if he says he can control it, I believe him. If not, then, it's really not our problem, is it?" The old woman asked.
After making their leave from the village, Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, Wes, Rui, Pikachu, Angel, and Piplup have decided to split up for a while. Lucas and Dawn said they would meet them in Solaceon Town. When they made a stop, Kairi saw her two eggs hatching.
"Sora, the eggs are hatching!" Kairi gasped.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
"This is really exciting," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
Both eggs have hatched and have taken the forms of Manaphy and another Pokémon they hadn't seen before.
It is a blue Pokémon with a round head and a tiny body. Its head is crowned by a flotation sac with a long, ribbon-like antenna. Its mouth is small, and its eyes are large with blue sclerae and gray irises. Above its eyes are two blue, circular markings connected to the eyes by a thin black line. Its long, flipper-like arms have rounded tips. It has a red, oval gem on its chest and a single rudimentary foot spike.
"Okay, that one is a Manaphy, but who's this Pokémon?" Sora asked.
"Better find out," Kairi said, taking out her Rotom Phone to scan it.
Phione, the Sea Drifter Pokémon
Type: Water
It is a Pokémon that lives in warm seas. It inflates the flotation sac on its head to drift and search for food.
"So, it's Phione. It's nice to meet you, Manaphy, Phione," Kairi said as her face lit up. Manaphy and Phione looked up at Kairi and hugged her. She giggled. "You're both so very adorable."
"Eevee," Angel said.
"How would like to come with me, huh?" Kairi asked, taking out two Pokéballs for them. They pressed the buttons on the Pokéballs and flowed inside it. Stars swirls around the Pokéballs to confirm the catch. Kairi sends Chatot and Drifloon to Professor Oak's lab to make room for them.
Kairi now has two new Pokémon as Wes has caught a vengeful Spiritomb, but what other adventure awaits for Sora and Kairi? Well, stick around and find out.
