Episode 317: Delta Emerald
It was night. Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Wes, Rui, Michael, Max, Lisia, Zinnia, Pikachu, Angel, Eevee, Azurill, Xipak, Celeste, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, Marill, and Aster were at the messhall of the Pokémon Center as Rei and her apprentices, along with Ben and Hikaru as they were about to eat their meal. They were joined by Erika and Joshua.
"Before we begin eating, we must take this moment of silence to our departed friend and ally, Axel. Despite being a member of Organization XIII until his desertion, Axel was truly one of us. There are most of you who knew Axel as an enemy at first, but a friend to others," Rei said, gesturing to Roxas and Xion. Roxas placed his around Xion. "I think I'll allow Sora to take it from here." Rei sat down as Sora stood up.
"Me and Kairi met Axel as an enemy at first, but he looked out for Roxas while he was hanging with them, so I have to be grateful for that. And he kept Xion a secret from Xemnas and the rest of them just to protect her. He helped us when we were in a jam like when we took on the Black Sun Clan, the final fight against the Elemental Bosses, and right to the point when we went to wipe out the Organization once and for all. Axel paid the ultimate price when he delivered that final attack, finishing off the Nobodies that attacked us and using the last bit of his strength to open a way into the Organization's world. Without him, we wouldn't have Roxas and Xion with us right now, and Organization XIII would still been a threat and their would have succeeded in their plan. He lived as a loyal friend, and died a hero in our eyes," Sora said, lifting up his drink as do the rest of the group. "Let's all drink for Axel."
"For Axel," everyone said all at once before taking a sip.
"Thank you, Sora," Rei said.
"Yeah, thanks, Sora," Roxas said.
"It means a whole lot to me and Roxas," Xion said.
"He was your friend. It's the least I can do for you both," Sora said.
"He deserves to be remembered," Kairi said.
"That he does," Rei agreed. "What Sora said is true. Roxas and Xion would still he within Sora and Kairi's hearts, and Organization XIII would have accomplished their goal. Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Wes, Rui, Michael, and our non-Keyblade wielding friends, you made sure that Axel's sacrifice was not in vain. Now, we shall eat."
Not needing a second opinion, everyone started to eat their meal, honoring Axel and celebrating their victory. While they ate their meal, Sora decided to speak on Wes and Rui's behalf.
"Master, a lot of have been thinking," Sora said.
"About what?" Rei asked.
"Well, we thought of having Wes and Rui learning about the ways of the Keyblade along with the rest of us," Sora suggested.
"You know, Sora is right, because it'll be a good excuse to get to know them better," Michael said.
"Are you sure about that, Sora?" Rui asked.
"We know enough about how to use the Keyblade as it is," Wes said.
"Yeah, that's true, but there could be some other stuff you probably don't even know about. And it's not something you can learn over night," Sora said.
"I happen to agree with Sora's proposal, Rei. Wes and Rui are formidable as Sora described, but they still have lots to learn," Ben said.
"I guess you're right. But the choice will have to be Wes and Rui's," Rei said.
"I think we should take them up on their offer, Wes," Rui said.
"Hold on, I don't remember discussing this," Wes said.
"At least think it over. Michael did say it'll be a good excuse to get to know you better," Sora said as the rest of the Keyblade wielders nodded with agreement.
"You were looking out for me and Sora since Johto from the shadows, and so we wanna make it up to you two," Kairi said.
"They have a point, Wes," Rui said.
"Alright, why not? Organization XIII may have taken the five years of our lives, so we might as well start making up for lost time," Wes said.
"It seems it's settled," Ben said.
"I think the others would be surprised when they hear about this, Master," Hikaru said.
"Perhaps, Hikaru. Now, let's continue this meal before it gets too cold," Ben said.
With that said, everyone resumed their eating.
After dinner, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Wes, Rui, Michael, Max, Lisia, Zinnia, Pikachu, Angel, Eevee, Azurill, Xipak, Celeste, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, Marill, and Aster are laying down in a room in the Pokémon Center, but still wide awake despite everything that happened today.
"Hey, Roxas," Ash spoke up.
"Yeah?" Roxas asked.
"Just how does it feel to be in a new body, and joining up with us?" Ash asked.
"Well, honestly, it feels better than I ever thought, because ever since Xion and I went back to Sora and Kairi, it felt like we were more one of you than Organization XIII, despite my number and my rank," Roxas said.
"Well, you are one of us, Roxas. And nothing is ever going to change it," Lyra said.
"Marill," Marill said.
"Lyra's right," Ethan agreed. "Since you're with us, you can now be a Pokémon Trainer if you want."
"And Xion, you could also be a Pokémon Coordinator if you want to," May said.
"Uh, May, you realize that it's too late for her to enter Contests, don't you?" Max pointed out.
"I meant for after the Grand Festival," May argued.
"I haven't even thought of it, to be honest. Even while I've been inside of Kairi's heart," Xion said.
"You don't have to rush it, Xion. Neither do you, Roxas. You just need to get adjusted with your new lives before we go and do any major changes," Sora said.
"He's right. The world's largest cities weren't built in just one way," Kairi said.
"I guess you're right," Roxas said.
"Tomorrow before we go anywhere, we should get you some new clothes. You can't wear those black hoods forever," Kris said.
"You know something, that's not a bad idea," Leaf said.
"Well, those black hoods would you two stick out like sore thumbs," Riku said.
"But when you're wearing some casual clothes, no one would be looking at you funny," Naminé said.
"And you wouldn't be sweating like crazy; especially when you're wearing the hoods," Rui said.
"I'm with you, Rui. It was hotter than a Slugma's underbelly wearing those," Wes said.
"It must have been hard for you, huh?" Michael asked.
"You have no idea," Wes said.
"As soon as we get back to Pallet Town, we can talk Professor Oak in giving you both a Rotom Phone for each of you, and download a Pokédex app for you to use, and some Pokéballs for the both of you to catch some more Pokémon," Sora said.
"You think Xion and I can be good at it?" Roxas asked.
"Well, you both came from Sora and Kairi. And if you can use the Keyblade, but you should have no problems being Pokémon Trainers," Terra said.
"Yeah, you should be good at it," Ventus said.
"Pikachu," Thor said.
"We should get some sleep before Rei comes in and sees us still awake," Aqua said.
Agreeing with the bluenette, everyone went right to sleep and slept soundly.
Meanwhile, Count Ernesh entered a dark room and he kneeled to a hooded figure. His hands were pale skinned and wrinkled. The hooded figure is a pale-skinned old man. He looked frail and weak, but he is powerful.
"My Master. Organization XIII has been eliminated," Count Ernesh reported.
"Yes, I know. I felt their scents die. One by one. It was Rei Sakura's apprentices who were responsible for their destruction. And not to mention, Kaito's son's Nobody who helped destroy the Organization's superior since he is now given a vessel created by Organization XIII's scientist along with Kairi's Nobody," the dark figure said with a dark and raspy voice.
"Are we ready to reveal ourselves to the young Keyblade wielders, Master Insidious?" Count Ernesh asked.
"No. First we must come up a strategy on how we can deal with Rei Sakura's apprentices. Such strategies must be carefully planned out and not acted too rashly. They may be children, but the destruction of Organization XIII is proof of their status as Guardians of Kingdom Hearts. So for now, we must remain hidden a little while longer. In the meantime, we must continue to do research on Xehanort's quest to forge the X-blade and the other item in question," Insidious said.
"The Book of Prophecies," Count Ernesh said.
"Yes. The Book of Prophecies is said to have all sorts of untold secrets. Keyblade Masters have possessed forbidden knowledge of Kingdom Hearts and the X-blade. To safeguard these secrets from falling in the wrong hands, the Book of Prophecies was hidden. It was the Master of Masters who placed this book into a black box. His apprentice Luxu had taken it someplace, only he knows where it is located. I assume that the secret has died with him shortly after his disappearance. The Master of Masters' other 5 apprentices were each given a copy of the book, but each has a missing page. Only the whole and complete book will serve our purposes," Insidious figure said.
"You believe the Book of Prophecies and the X-blade are the keys to the next Keyblade War?" Count Ernesh asked.
"Indeed. It has taken me many centuries of search, and there are still questions that remain unanswered even up to this day. I must have these answers. The answers that the Book of Prophecies possesses, and the X-blade to control Kingdom Hearts," Insidious said.
"Of course, Master Insidious," Count Ernesh said.
Back in Pacifidlog Town, Roxas and Xion joined the group for some shopping for some new clothes.
Xion wore a white shirt under a black vest. Her shirt showed her navel, almost matching Kairi's outfit. She wore a gray skirt and black shoes with white ankle socks. She wore a necklace similar to the one Kairi is wearing.
Roxas's new clothes consisted of a black, high-collared jacket with a zipper resembling the Nobody symbol. Over this, he wore another jacket, this one unzipped and white, with several black block designs and a grey hem on the end of each sleeve. This jacket's collar was red and pleated and folded back. Roxas also wore two-colored pants; the legs of his pants were beige with several of what looked like buttons on the hem that appeared to attach the legs to the rest of the cloth, which are dark-colored. Roxas's shoes are colored in shades of gray and black and had red straps in place of laces. Finally, Roxas wore a wrist band with a black-and-white checkerboard pattern on his left wrist, as well as a plain black ring on his left index finger and a plain white ring on his left middle finger.
"You look real pretty, Xion. It suits you perfectly," Roxas complimented his girlfriend.
"Thanks. And you look good in your outfit. It suits you, too. You look very stylin'," Xion said. Roxas smiled at her compliment.
"Now that you got some new clothes, we can move on towards Slateport City for the Grand Festival," Ash said.
"Well, we can catch a boat to get there," Lyra suggested.
"And we can get to Slateport City, lickity-split," Kris said.
"Marill," Marill said.
"Hold on," Naminé spoke up, stopping everyone. They all looked at Naminé, each with puzzling expressions on their faces.
"What do you mean 'hold on'?" Brendan asked.
"Yeah, Naminé. What do you mean?" May asked.
"Well, on the way, I was thinking of making a stop in Mossdeep City, because of the The Litleonids," Naminé said.
"The Litleonids?" Roxas and Xion asked.
"What? Why Mossdeep City?" Sora asked.
"Oh, yeah! I forgot! The Mossdeep Space Center is the perfect place to see the Litleonids," Riku said.
"I'm sorry, but what are the Litleonids?" Roxas asked.
"The Litleonids are a meteor shower that occurs in this world once a year. Word is, it got its name from the constellation named Litleo," Lisia said.
"The name of the constellation is the same as the Pokémon, Litleo," Riku said.
"And good luck is smiling on all of us because we can see it with our own eyes," Ash said.
"And the timing couldn't be perfect anyway," Terra said.
"I agree. Wes and I have been in the realm of darkness for five years, and I was worried we missed for the sixth time since coming back out," Rui said.
"It would have been the first one we could have shared with each other," Wes said. Rui blushed.
"You're sweet, Wessy," Rui said, kissing her significant other on the cheek.
"We should have a word with your Master before we take off," Aqua suggested.
"You know, she's right. It's best we have a talk with her before we go," Riku said. Sora and the rest of the group nodded in agreement.
A few moments later, Sora and the others went up to Rei about the idea.
"You know, that's a fine idea. We can catch the Litleonids. It couldn't come at an opportune time. We can catch a boat for Mossdeep City before we head for Slateport City," Rei said.
"We're glad that you're on board with us, Master," May said.
"Aren't Ben and Hikaru going to be joining us?" Leaf asked.
"I'm afraid not, because he and Hikaru had already left. Since Ansem the Wise is no longer available, their search for Lucius will have to continue. But they said they will meet us over to Slateport City for the Grand Festival," Rei said.
"I hope they find him," Lisia said.
"I feel the same way," Rei said.
Meanwhile, over to Mossdeep Space Center Celestial Observatory, a couple of scientists were observing outer space when they see something coming their way.
"What could that be?" One of the scientists asked.
"What's what?" Another scientist asked.
"I think I'm seeing something coming to us," the first scientist said.
"Something?" The second scientist asked, raising a brow.
"I'm not a hundred percent certain, but I better have a closer look," the first scientist said. He zooms in and he has a disturbed look on his face. "We better let Professor Cosmo know about this!" A few minutes later, Professor Cosmo enters the room where the two scientists were doing an observation. "Professor Cosmo! It's... It's a disaster!"
"What is it?" Professor Cosmo asked.
"It's the meteorid's trajectory! It's suddenly changed direction! Now it's on a collision course with our planet!" The first scientist said. Professor Cosmo has an uneasy look on his face.
"That cannot be right! Recheck the data! Update the course calculations and confirm the new trajectory!" Professor Cosmo said.
"Target locked on," the second scientist said, locking on the meteorid. "Confirming the meteorid's new trajectory now..." The second scientist goes over the data. "According to the numbers, it should make impact!"
"Where?!" Professor Cosmo asked.
"It's going to be on an island not too far away from right here!" The second scientist confirmed. Professor Cosmo looked at the screen.
"But changing the trajectories midflight..." Professor Cosmo paused. "It's almost like it's alive."
"But professor, what should we do?!" The first scientist exclaimed in panic.
"Calm yourself. We're gonna have to get in touch with Steven," Professor Cosmo said.
Back in Pacifidlog Town, everyone gathered to the dock as Joshua, Erika and their respective Pokémon stood at the dock as the group are preparing to leave. Wes and Rui have gotten to their vehicle and got it aboard. Wes would rather lose an arm or a leg before he would leave without it again. He relied so much on it since he left Team Snatch and since the first Shadow Pokémon incident.
"Well, Erika, Joshua, we hope that the both of you would have a bright future ahead of you, despite being rivals," Brendan said.
"Trust me when I tell you that we will," Joshua said.
"We're thinking the same for the rest of you. Even you Roxas, Xion. We don't know you two all that well, but I can already tell you're going to have good lives ahead of you," Erika said.
"Thank you, Erika. We're grateful for your kind word, despite a rocky beginning," Xion said.
"Well, it mostly had something to do with May more than Kairi," Roxas said. May chuckled nervously.
"Anyway, good luck in the Grand Festival, May and Kairi. Joshua and I will be rooting for you both," Erika said.
"Thanks," Kairi said.
"And Sora, Brendan, best of luck in the Hoenn Pokémon League," Joshua said.
"Thanks a lot, Joshua," Sora said.
"We won't need luck," Brendan said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Wes, Rui, Michael, Max, Lisia, Zinnia, Rei, Pikachu, Angel, Eevee, Azurill, Xipak, Celeste, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, Marill, and Aster boarded the boat for Mossdeep City and waved goodbye to the local Coordinators.
While the boat cruised passed Sootopolis City, Zinnia and Aster looked up to the sky, sensing the presence of the meteorid. Zinnia and Aster both knew it was was coming.
"It won't be long now, Aster. It's coming our way," Zinnia said.
"Whismur," Aster said.
"And we both know what's on the island, right?" Zinnia asked.
"That's right. As soon as we get off the boat, we're both going to the Sky Pillar. And whatever happens, just know that I will protect you," Zinnia said. Zinnia took out her Pokéball and used it to let out her Salamence. She and Aster got on the Dragon Pokémon's back and flew towards the island, leaving her friends unaware of her absence. "Sora, Kairi, sorry."
After cruising for a few hours, they've arrived to Mossdeep City. The last time they were there it was during Team Magma and Team Aqua's attempt control Groudon and Kyogre.
"Looks like we've made it," Max said.
"That's good. I'm getting excited," Rui said.
"Well, I can only hope it'll be better than the last time, because Team Aqua and Team Magma sucked the fun out of it the last time," Ethan said.
"Since we're here, we can head for the space station and buy some tickets," Roxas said.
"I hope they're not sold out," Ventus said.
"Pikachu," Sparky said.
"Well, that's if they're selling like pancakes," Lyra said
"Marill," Marill said.
"I hope not," Lisia said. She then noticed someone was missing in the group. "Huh? Wait a minute, everyone." Everyone stopped to look at her.
"What's wrong, Lisia?" Kairi asked.
"I don't see Zinnia anywhere," Lisia said.
"I haven't seen her since we were on the boat," Rei said.
"I know she came aboard with the rest of us," Karen said.
"Where could she have gone?" Xion asked.
"You don't think she fell overboard, do you?" May asked.
"I hope not," Brendan said.
"But shouldn't Aster be here with us?" Riku asked.
"She must have taken her with her, wherever she went," Kairi said.
Before the group could organize a search party, Steven Stone spotted the group.
"Sora, Kairi?" Steven asked. Everyone turned to see Steven right in front of them. "What are you doing here? I heard that you won the Rain Badge from Wallace."
"We actually came here for the show going on," Sora said.
"Just when we were about to go and buy some tickets, we noticed a friend of ours is missing," Karen said.
"I see," Steven said.
"But what are you doing here?" Leaf asked.
"I actually came here because Professor Cosmo asked me to come here. He said that it's urgent," Steven said.
"Professor Cosmo?" Sora asked, remembering the Team Magma and Team Aqua encounter on Mount Chimney.
"You know him?" Kairi asked.
"Yes. And I'm going to guess you know him, too. In fact, I was just on my way to the space station when I saw you. And it looks like I may need your assistance as long as you're here," Steven said.
"With what?" Sora asked.
"Come with me. I'll explain on the way," Steven said.
As they headed for the space station, Sora introduced Wes, Rui, Roxas and Xion to Steven, and Steven explained about the meteorid was currently on a collision course with the planet, so Steven was asked to deliever some meteor shards to him. Sora and Kairi explained their connections with Professor Cosmo when they met him on Mount Chimney when Team Magma were using it to make Mount Chimney erupt, and Team Aqua being there as well.
"And that's about it," Sora concluded.
"I thought it had something to do with Team Magma and Team Aqua," Steven said.
The group entered inside and they spotted Professor Cosmo, wearing a white lab coat. He sees the group and he recognized two of them.
"Sora, Kairi, what a pleasant surprise," Professor Cosmo said with a gleeful smile.
"Likewise, professor," Sora said.
"We didn't think we would see you here," Kairi said.
"Honestly, I felt the same way, but I wish I could say this is a happy day because of the current situation," Professor Cosmo said.
"Yeah, we know. Steven already filled us in," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Good. Come with me," Professor Cosmo said, leading the group to the mission control room and they see the meteorid on the screen.
"Oh, boy," Roxas said.
"As you can see, the meteorid is on a collision with our planet. Ever since the incident on Mount Chimney, I have been doing some more research, so it brought me to Metoer Falls, and I found a metoer similar to the one I had before Team Magma used it for their machine. And I came to the conclusion, it must be connected to the Infinity Energy from 3000 years ago," Professor Cosmo said.
"Infinity Energy?" Kris asked.
"Yes," Professor Cosmo said.
"What's the Infinity Energy to begin with?" Ventus asked.
"The story I'm about to share with you takes place in the Kalos region from 3000 years ago. The Kalos region was once a kingdom in those old days. There was a terrible war being fought, and it was brought to an end by a weapon created by Kalos's King. Unfortunately, the weapon drained the life energy out of living Pokémon being sacrificed. There are many people who would call it reprehensible. My great-grandfather once said: 'Couldn't we use the energy to improve the lives of people and Pokémon?' And that's Infinity Energy," Steven explained.
"What does any of that have to do with anything?" Riku asked.
"It has a connection with the phenomenon that we all know today as Mega Evolution," Steven answered.
"Mega Evolution?" The group asked.
"Yes. To do so, we shall start off by artificially replicating the massive energy that is triggered at the time of Mega Evolution. The Devon Corporation has provided us the means of building a rocket. We will fire the energy produced from our rocket into space, and create a warp hole. By creating a warp hole in the path of the incoming meteorid, we hope to be able to transport it somewhere far from here," Professor Cosmo said.
"That should do it," Kris said.
"Yes, it should," Professor Cosmo agreed. "As a matter of fact, this technology already exists and has been incorporated in some of our commonly used devices."
"Wow, that's awesome," Max said.
"Sure is!" May agreed.
"I have the meteor shard that you requested. I found it in Granite Cave," Steven said, handing Professor Cosmo the shard.
"Good, but it's not enough because we'll need another one," Professor Cosmo said.
"Will this help?" A girls's voice asked. They all turned to see the girl. "I'm sorry to interrupt, professor, but I have the meteor shard that you've asked for," the girl said, holding it in her hand.
"How did you come across with this?" Rei asked.
"Well, while I was there, I ran into an old woman who said to be descendant from an ancient race of people," the girl said.
"An ancient race?" Rui asked.
"I think she said something about being a dragonoid or something," the girl said.
"Wait! You mean the Draconid people, don't you?" Steven asked.
"Yeah, that's what she said," the girl confirmed.
"The Draconid people?" Xion asked.
"I've heard of them. They're a race of people whom worshiped Rayquaza in ancient times. It was after Groudon and Kyogre tried to destroy the world many centuries ago. Since Groudon and Kyogre has their Primal forms, it's been said that Rayquaza has its own form from a rainbow stone, as the Draconids put it. The Draconid tasked with the stone is known as the Lorekeeper," Steven said.
"A Lorekeeper," Sora said.
"You know, I remember seeing that mural back in Granite Cave. Was that made by the Draconid people, Steven?" Kairi asked.
"I believe it is, Kairi. That's what I was going over when I first met you. Ever since I was a little boy, I was fascinated by Mega Evolution, and I became curious about how it works for Pokemon and people," Steven said.
"Could that have anuything to do with Mega Evolution, Steven?" Ethan asked.
"Most likely. It makes a lot of sense in its own way," Steven said. He looked at the group. "Sora, I'm sorry to ask so much of you, but I have a request to ask of you."
"Don't even ask, Steven, because we're already in on it," Sora said.
"There's no way we'd say no," Ash said.
"And you wouldn't leave us hanging when we need you," Kairi said.
"I thought you'd lend a hand," Steven said with a smile. "We can get started."
"But where do we even start?" Roxas asked.
"Good question," Steven said.
Back to the Sky Pillar, Zinnia has taken out the Keystones she had collected throughout her journey.
"These shall do it. These Keystones are the keys I need in summoning Rayquaza and protecting the planet. Now, I just have to get Sora, Kairi, and the rest of them over here since they should be a part of this," Zinnia said. She took out a Pokéball and threw it. Her Salamance emerged from inside. She hands the note to the Dragon Pokémon. "Fly to Mossdeep City and deliver this message." Salamence nodded and flew to find the Keyblade wielders.
Salamence flew right in an incredible speed, carrying the note in its mouth. Salamence spotted the group coming out of the space station, so Salamence descends to the ground below. The group saw Salamance coming down and lands right in front of them.
"A Salamence," Ventus said.
"This is Zinnia's Salamence," Kairi said.
"Look. Salamence has something in its mouth," Roxas said. Salamence approaches Sora and gives it to him. Sora saw it was a note from Zinnia.
"Zinnia wanted me to have this," Sora said. He begins to read what's written on it.
Sora,
Sorry for taking off without telling you, but it was very important. I can explain everything to you once you meet me to the Sky Pillar. It's on the island very close to Mossdeep City. I can explain it all when you and the rest of the Keyblade holders get here. But don't be late.
Zinnia.
"The Sky Pillar?" Sora asked.
"Pika?" Pikachu asked.
"What's the Sky Pillar?" Xion asked.
"The Sky Pillar is a place that is said to be where the Draconid Lorekeepers summoned Rayquaza," Steven said.
"Why would she want to meet us there?" Riku asked.
"I don't know, but we'll have to go there and find out," Sora said, looking at Zinnia's Salamence. "And I think this Salamence will show us the way there."
With that said, Sora and his friends took a boat for the island and they head right for it. They've finally arrived to the island. Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Pikachu, Angel, Xipak, and Celeste departed from the boat. They turned to their friends. "Okay, this is the island Zinnia wanted us to meet."
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Well, have to go on in," Sora said.
"We'll tag along with you," Riku said as he, Namine, Ash,Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Wes, Rui, Michael, Eevee, Azurill, and Marill stepped off.
"It's only fair that we all go together," Wes said.
"I guess you're right. We're in this together, so why not, right?" Sora asked.
"The rest of us will stay behind," Rei said.
"Just make sure you don't stay behind like you did when you faced Xemnas, Sora," Karen said.
"Pikachu," Blossom said.
"We'll try not to," Sora assured his sister.
"Looks like Steven was right after all," a voice spoke. They all saw Wallace, riding on his Wailord.
"Uncle Wallace," Lisia said.
"Why are you here, Wallace?" Brendan asked.
"Because I have come to undo the seal on the entrance to the cave leading up to the Sky Pillar," Wallace answered.
"Can you lead us there, Wallace?" Kris asked.
"Yes, I can. Follow me," Wallace said.
Not needing to be told twice, the group followed Wallace.
"Be careful, Sora, Kairi," Lisia said.
They kept on walking until they've come to the cave and Wallace undoes the seal to the cave, leading up to the Sky Pillar.
"This is the cave you must go through. This is all I can do for you," Wallace said.
"Thanks, Wallace. We can take it from here anyway," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
With that said, the Keyblade wielders entered the cave and saw it was a tunnel. They followed it right to the end and stepped outside. They saw the tall tower in front of them.
"Wow, that thing is tall," May said.
"Zinnia's Salamence flew this way, so we're on the right path," Riku said.
"Yeah," Sora agreed. They walked towards the Sky Pillar and entered inside. They saw Zinnia standing before the group, waiting for them to come.
"I knew you'd come," Zinnia said.
"Why did you leave our group when you did, Zinnia? And why did you take off without telling us?" Sora asked.
"I'll be more than happy to," Zinnia said.
"More than happy to?" Kairi asked.
"Before we get to that, I have something to tell you. Since I know your secret, I shall share mine with you. You see, I am descended from an ancient race of people known as the Draconids," Zinnia admitted. They all gasped in shock.
"You're a Draconid?" Ash asked.
"Yes, I am. Look... The paintings that cover the walls of this tower... See, these are the history of humanity, of Pokémon, and of nature itself. They're the tales that have been passed down by my ancestors, the Draconids, for thousands of years. And now...I will pass that history and lore on to you," Zinnia said.
"Onto us?" Sora asked.
"Thousands of years ago, in the primal age long lost, the world was overflowing with natural energy. Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre fought over that energy in endless, furious clashes. In the face of Primal Groudon and Kyogre's great power, people could do nothing. The only choice was to watch as disaster upon disaster swept over them. It was in such a time that a great many meteoroids poured from the darkness of space, from a place higher even than the heavens. And the meteoroids fell in their multitude upon a waterfall that had long been home to a tribe of Dragon-type Pokémon users..." Zinnia paused her story. "...OK! That's it! That's the end of the first chapter of my tale. I'll tell you the next part of the story on the next floor. Look forward to it!" Zinnia said, heading up for the stairway.
"Hey, Zinnia! Wait!" Sora called out.
"Follow her!" Ash said.
The group started to go after Zinnia, wanting to understand her better. They've come to the second floor of the Sky Pillar.
"Oh! Here you are!" Zinnia said
"Well, you took off before you could tell us more," Xion said.
"I guess I did. Let me continue. It's finally time for chapter two. Here we go!" Zinnia said. "At last, right? Hah! I know you're thrilled. The meteors shone with a rainbow brilliance, as if some great life was held within. That was when, as if drawn by the brilliance, a Pokémon that shone in a blazing emerald hue descended from the heavens... That Pokémon was none other than Rayquaza. Rayquaza's power overwhelmed that of the two Primal Pokémon, and peace returned to the world. The people of Hoenn revered Rayquaza as a true savior. A thousand years after this time, the meteoroids once again fell. A huge meteoroid, far greater than any before, struck the planet, boring deep into the ocean and leaving behind it a crater larger than any other. The land born of this event later become known as Sootopolis. And that is it! Chapter two is over! But we've only just left the starting line. There's a long way yet... Don't fall behind now!" Zinnia has gone upeven further.
"Here we go again," Sora said.
They followed her right to the third floor of the Sky Pillar.
"Now, our tale reaches the best part. Sootopolis was born from a great meteoroid strike. The great meteoroid was the first of many disasters to befall humanity. When it punched into the planet, the land cracked beneath it, and a great welling of natural energy poured from beneath Hoenn. Thirsting for that energy, Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon once again woke. The people had a wish, a memory from a thousand years before... They wished that the legendary Pokémon clad in emerald light would appear again. The huge Meteorite that lay at the heart of Sootopolis gave off a boundless brilliance. In its brilliance, it resembled a vast and powerful Key Stone. And once again, Rayquaza descended from whence it came in the heavens. The people fell to their knees before Rayquaza and made a wish for salvation. As they did, a great change came over the legendary Pokémon. It was enveloped in blinding light. As the light receded, they beheld a Rayquaza beyond all knowledge, a sublime figure, incandescent with overwhelming life force. It was humanity's wish that brought about Rayquaza's transformation in the face of the rainbow stone..." Zinnia said.
"A wish?" Brendan asked.
"Yes... A wish... An intangible thing, invisible to the eye. Yet this wish bound people and Pokémon together, enabling the legendary Pokémon to change its appearance... Doesn't it remind you of something?" Zinnia asked.
"Mega Evolution!" Sora and Kairi exclaimed.
"That's right... It sounds like Mega Evolution, doesn't it?" Zinnia asked.
"It does," the group said as Zinnia has gone up even further. They knew they had to follow her even further. They've arrived to the fourth floor.
"And how did the story end? After being transformed by the wish of the people, did Rayquaza save them from disaster?"
"You might as well tell us, Zinnia," Sora said.
"Rayquaza once again confronted Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre. The golden filaments that sprang from its body covered the sky. An emerald brilliance illuminated the area. A terrible wind rose. The wind and emerald light visibly sapped the power from Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre. Drained of their primal powers, the two vanished into the depths of land and sea. Rayquaza watched them go, regaining its usual appearance. Then it soared back up into the heavens where it dwelled. A witness to this series of events, a tall visitor from a distant land, said, "It is the Delta, born of the great disturbances in this world. By the bonds born of mankind's wish and the power of the stones, it will calm the troubles that plague the world." That was when the Draconids constructed their great tower, to hold the rainbow stone that had granted Rayquaza its power, and to try to get a little bit closer to Rayquaza in the heavens above. To record the history of their trials and the great feats of mighty Rayquaza for all to know, they left behind the murals you see here. A giant tower... And paintings of the past... You know, I feel like I've seen something like that recently. Heh. But now, I suppose it's time for the last chapter in our tale," Zinnia said, heading on up to the next floor. Everyone just groaned, following her up. They've finally caught up with her at last on the fifth floor.
"At last we reach the final chapter..." Zinnia said.
"A thousand years of peace followed after that disastrous time. But the Draconid people, learning from their long history's cyclical nature, foretold that the meteoroids would fall on this land again. The meteoroid to come, they prophesized, would be far greater than those that had come before it. This meteoroid would be great enough to break the world forever... In order to prevent this great calamity, those who held the knowledge of the past arrived at a plan. Their plan was to invoke Rayquaza, the great savior, and summon it to this land before the meteoroid could strike. And that's it. That's the end of our... of the Draconids' tale. I spent a long time thinking about how I could protect the happiness of as many people as possible. What I must do, as one who holds both the knowledge and the power... One who bears the heavy wishes of those who could not...live up to that fate... Well, I had to be really creative, you know?" Zinnia asked.
"Define creative, Zinnia," Sora said.
"Well, I collected some Keystones just before we met and I knew you lot were the perfect bunch. Come on up and you will see," Zinnia said.
"Looks like we got some more climbing to do," Roxas said.
"Sure looks like it," Michael said.
"It can't be helped. We follow her," Wes said.
With that said, they've arrived to the top floor. By the time they did, it was already nighttime. And they saw the Litleonids in the night sky.
"... See that, Aster? You always wanted to watch them, right? The Litleonids. A million glittering stars falling from the sky... The show is about to start," Zinnia said
"Aren't we happy now? Yes, what could be better, dear Aster?" Zinnia asked.
"Whismur, Whis," Aster said.
"Zinnia!" Sora called out. Zinnia turned to see her friends.
"... Welcome to the Dragonhark altar, everyone. You know what I am trying to do here by now, don't you?" Zinnia asked.
"Not really," Riku said.
"You could just tell us," Wes said.
"I suppose you're right. I will summon Rayquaza to this world to destroy the meteoroid headed for Hoenn. That is my... It is our duty," Zinnia said.
"Summon Rayquaza?" Naminé asked.
"That explains why you took off. You couldn't just fill us in?" Sora asked.
"That would have been too easy," Zinnia said, turning to the night sky. "Ever since I was a little girl, I have always turned my eyes up to the sky. When I was so full of uncertainty that I felt my heart might be crushed by it... When I was so grief-stricken and alone I thought my heart might break of it... I turned and looked up there... so that my tears would never, ever fall. What about you? Have you ever had to do something like that?"
"I've been there myself, Zinnia," Roxas spoke up. The rest of the group turned to Roxas. "Even though I couldn't remember my life as Sora, so I had my share of hardships. There were times I got mad at Axel for something that he did, including keeping the truth about myself a secret. But now that I look back on it, I never thanked him properly because he was only protecting me, like a true friend that he is. Axel may be gone, but he's with me in spirit," Roxas said.
"That's one way to put it," Zinnia said. "I think it's time I gave it a shot," Zinnia said. Zinnia brings her hands together and begins her prayer. "With jewel bright and borrowed might from the spirits of the departed... Through sacred rite, in thy great sight, my life as well I offer..." The Keystones all give off a shining light, causing the whole Sky Pillar to shake. "I summon thee to aid this fight and save us from disaster!" Realize them upon this world! For this I do summon thee!" Rayquaza!" Hearing the prayer from above, Rayquaza descends down from the ozone layer.
"Rayquaza," Sora said, taking out his Rotom Phone and scanned it.
Rayquaza, the Sky High Pokémon
Type: Dragon/Flying
Rayquaza is said to have lived for hundreds of millions of years. Legends remain of how it put to rest the clash between Kyogre and Groudon.
"Rayquaza?" Zinnia asked, amazed by what she had done. "Rayquaza! I did it! I...I did it!" Now the world...will be saved! Aster... Aster, I did it!"
"Whismur, Whis!" Aster said.
"Great Rayquaza! Hear my wish! Achieve your Mega Evolution! Take hold of your true power! Show me your true face! The Rayquaza that will save this planet!" Zinnia said. She waits for the process, but she is shocked to see that nothing is happening. "Huh?! H-how can this be?! I gathered all of the Keystones that could withstand your great power... and summoned you here... You came... And yet... Why?!" Rayquaza just looked at the Lorekeeper. "Come on! Do it! Mega Evolve! Why?! Why won't you..." Zinnia looked at her Keystone and it still does not react. Rayquaza gave off a roar. Zinnia gasped in realization. "What?!" "It can't be... The one without enough power...is you, Rayquaza?"
"What's wrong, Zinnia?" Kairi asked.
"The Meteorites that should lie within Rayquaza's great body...aren't enough? Have these thousand years drained them of their power?" Zinnia asked in disbelief as she fell on her knees. "This...can't...be... I can't... I... I... Everything...I've done...till now..."
"Whis," Aster said, trying to assure her, but it was no use.
"Aster... I can't... I can't take any...more..." Zinnia said. Suddenly, something unexpected happened. An emerald green light surrounds Brendan.
"Guys!" Brendan shouted as he is engulfed in the light.
"Brendan!" May cried.
The light subsided as Brendan now holds a new Keyblade in his hand. The Keyblade is green. The guard of the Keyblade is shaped like Rayquaza's face. The blade of the Keyblade is Rayquaza's long serpentine body and the teeth of the Keyblade is Rayquaza's face, but has the Delta symbol on it. The token is the head of Mega Rayquaza. The Keyblade shall be known as the Delta Emerald Rayquaza.
"A new Keyblade," Kris said.
"Brendan, I think you're the key to this," Riku said.
"Me?" Brendan asked.
"Yes, you. You can use it to awaken the power that sleeps inside of Rayquaza!" Riku said.
"I'm not sure if I can!" Brendan argued.
"You never know unless you try!" Riku stated.
"He's right, Brendan. Use that Keyblade to wake up Rayquaza's ability to Mega Evolve!" Ash said.
"So you gotta try it," Ethan said.
"If you can't then no one can," Sora said. The rest of the group all agreed and gave Brendan the support that he needed.
"Okay. I hope this works," Brendan said, aiming the Delta Emerald Rayquaza at Rayquaza. A beam of emerald green light shoots from the tip and it hits Rayquaza. Rayquaza then undergoes a transformation right before everyone's eyes. And right there and then, Mega Rayquaza floated before them.
"It worked!" Rui said.
"That is so awesome!" Michael said.
"Sure is!" Zinnia said.
"And I think it knows what it has to do," Riku said.
Mega Rayquaza then flew up back into space and right towards the meteorid. Mega Rayquaza flies high into space. Its body then becomes outlined in a green aura, and it dives into the meteorid with great speed. Once it made contact with the meteorid, it explodes into millions of pieces, scattering throughout the cosmos. Down below, the group smiled, knowing that the meteorid was destroyed. But something else happened. A triangle-shaped piece becomes erratic and thrashes around. Tentacles sprouts out from the triangle. It turns out that a Deoxys was right inside of it. It descends on down to the planet and to the Sky Pillar.
"What's that?" Roxas asked.
"It's a Deoxys!" Kairi said, taking out her Rotom Phone to scan it.
Deoxys, the DNA Pokémon
Type: Psychic
The DNA of a space virus underwent a sudden mutation upon exposure to a laser beam and resulted in Deoxys. The crystalline organ on this Pokémon's chest appears to be its brain.
"I remember seeing one of those before," May said.
"Me too. Back in LaRousse City," Brendan said.
"I think I'll handle this one," Sora said.
"You sure, Sora?" Xion asked.
"I'm sure," Sora answered. He turned to his partner. "You up for the task, buddy?"
"Pi," Pikachu said as he nodded.
"Go get it!" Sora said. Deoxys saw the Mouse Pokémon coming its way. "Use Thunderbolt!" Pikachu fired Thunderbolt at Deoxys, landing a hit. The DNA Pokémon is now paralyzed from the hit and it attacks with a Psycho Boost. "Dodge it!" Pikachu narrowly avoids Deoxys's Psycho Boost. "Iron Tail!" Pikachu swings his tail at Deoxys, landing a hit. It turns out that Deoxys has taken little damage thanks to its Defense Form. It switches to its Speed Form and heads for Pikachu. It switches to its Attack Form and unleashed another Psycho Boost. "Dodge it!" Pikachu ran to dodge it, but the attack came too fast for Pikachu to avoid Deoxys's Psycho Boost. Deoxys then uses Psychic on Pikachu. "Pikachu!" Deoxys was about to finish Pikachu off when Mega Rayquaza came down and attacked Deoxys as it switches to its Defense Form. The two Pokémon held on, but Mega Rayquaza breaks through, dealing some damage on Deoxys. Pikachu managed to get on his feet. Deoxys still had some fight left. "Pikachu! Thunderbolt! Full power!" Pikachu unleashed Thunderbolt, shocking the DNA Pokémon, dealing some additional damage. Sora took out an Ultra Ball and threw it. Deoxys flowed inside it. The Ultra Ball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Ultra Ball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Deoxys with him. He chose to send Deoxys over to Professor Oak's lab. "And that's that."
"Saved the world again, and Sora catches a new Pokémon," Leaf said.
"And it's a Pokémon from outer space. I'm almost jealous," Wes said.
"Now that it's destroyed, now what?" Lyra asked.
"I guess there's nothing left for me to do. I guess I fulfilled my role," Zinnia said.
"You can still travel with us, Zinnia," Brendan said. Zinnia looked right at the group.
"Really?" Zinnia asked.
"Brendan's right, Zinnia. We don't know you all that much, but you stuck with us when we defeated Organization XIII, but we might as well change that," Lyra said.
"Marill," Marill said.
"Besides, that's what friends are for," Ethan said.
"Thank you, everyone. I guess I'll take you up on that offer," Zinnia said.
"Whismur," Aster said.
"And since the Litleonids passed over us, we might well just get back to traveling. We got to reach Slateport City," Leaf said.
"Yeah. Max, Lisia, Aqua, Terra, Ven, Karen, and the Master are waiting for us to get back," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Yeah, let's head back," Zinnia said.
With that said, the group have started to make their way down and right back to where they came in. They've reached the boat and saw everyone asleep. Max was sleeping next to his Ralts whom he had kept in his Pokéball. Not wanting to wake any of them up, they all fell asleep after a long day of excitement. And we will leave them there for right now.
