Chapter 523 Back Problem

There really wasn't a time of day when Jax didn't love sex, but he had a special fondness for morning sex when he would wake up early have sleepy leisurely sex and then fall back to sleep for an hour or so.

"How's your back?" Jax asked studying Scarlett's face. She didn't look like she was in any pain. Her skin had a glow to it that he liked to think he put there.

"It's fine. Never better."

Jax looked at her skeptically. He suspected Scarlett would lie to him if her back was worse because she wouldn't want to disappoint him if they had to stop making love to let her back recover.

"Get out of bed and walk for me."

"Pretty bossy."

"I want to make sure your back is really OK."

"My word not good enough for you?"

"One of us has to be responsible. We were careful and gentle, but I need to see with my own eyes that you are OK."

Scarlett kissed Jax on the cheek before slipping out of bed and walking. Her back was a little stiff—normal for her.

"I'm going to walk even more," she said with a grin as she headed into the bathroom.

She returned to bed just as Jax got up to use the bathroom. He returned and scooted close to Scarlett until he could wrap his arms around her. When he kissed her he discovered she'd brushed her teeth just as he had. He didn't need any bigger hint than that.

"Some leisurely time together and then a little more sleep?"

"Ummm . . . sounds perfect," Scarlett whispered.

Jax treated her with the utmost tenderness. Her back seemed fine and that was because they were both being careful. It would be torture if her back got injured and they had to wait months for it to heal.

When he was with Tara back in high school, he never saw forever. He couldn't imagine never having sex with another girl again. He was too young to not explore. Even when he married Wendy, he couldn't imagine spending the rest of his life only having sex with her. Yet another clue that their marriage was never going to work out. So easy to see now, but at the time somehow marriage to Wendy seemed like a good idea. Too much weed probably. His brain had gotten so much sharper since he'd given it up.

Scarlett was different. He could see forever with her. He didn't feel any need to be with another girl to see what if would feel like. He loved her and that brought something to sex that he'd never experienced. Maybe that's what he'd really been looking for from all the women he'd bedded. He'd been looking for love and when it didn't happen, he'd moved on to the next.

Scarlett taught him that love takes time to build between two people. Tara had been his friend and he'd grown to really like her. He loved her, but it wasn't the romantic love that he needed. There wasn't any fire or passion between them.

With Scarlett he had it all love, passion, lust and respect. She was everything to him and he intended to spend the rest of his life with her. The thought should have terrified him, but this was something he was coming around to almost from the day he met her. He only wanted to be with Scarlett. He dosed off his body feeling completely relaxed and sexually satisfied.

When he woke, he found Scarlett was still asleep. He must have worn her out he thought chuckling to himself. He decided to get up and make breakfast. She might be hungry too.

The smell of bacon woke her and she found Jax in the kitchen putting the finishing touches on his omelet. Since Decker taught him how, he'd come to enjoy making his own for breakfast.

"You want me to make you an omelet?" Jax asked.

"I don't really eat breakfast, but a couple of pieces of bacon would be good."

"Help yourself. I made extra for you."

Scarlett suggested going for a little walk along the lake. She hadn't wanted to go out much because she didn't want anyone to see her at the lake house, but now with her psycho ex locked up, she didn't have to worry about that anymore. Despite her psycho ex being safely tucked behind bars, Jax tucked his .38 into the back of his jeans before they went on their walk. It was always better to be prepared.

They got back had lunch from last night's dinner leftovers and then relaxed. Scarlett read a book on the deck while Jax swam in the lake. It wouldn't be too much longer before it would be too cold.

Jax was showering after his swim when the lights in the bathroom went off. All Jax could think of was this would be a hell of a place for a fight. Then he saw a woman's figure wrapped in a towel. This was getting interesting.

"Scarlett?"

"Yeah," she said walking closer to the shower. "I have a problem I was hoping you could help me with," she said shyly.

"Your towel stuck to your body and you need me to get it off?" Jax suggested.

"That would be silly," she said. "No, this is a real problem. Since I hurt my back, I haven't been able to wash it. I can rinse it in the shower, but I haven't been able to use soap since I'm too stiff."

"You want me to help you wash your back?"

"If you wouldn't mind."

"Of course not," Jax said with mock seriousness.

Scarlett hesitated before removing her towel and stepping into the shower with Jax. He immediately wrapped his arms around her.

"How do you want me to do it? Use that pouf thing, a washcloth or . . . " he paused and leaned down to whisper in her ear, "my hands."

"Your hands would probably do the most thorough job," Scarlett said softly.

"Good choice," Jax said. He grabbed the body wash that she used squirted some into his hands, added water before working up a thick lather. She turned her back to him and gasped a little as his hands began to soap her back slowly making sure to give her a thorough cleaning. He rinsed her back thoroughly. He lathered his hands up again and with her back against him, he used his hands to wash her breasts, stomach and thighs. He rinsed her and then kissed her.

"All better?" he asked.

"I feel so much better now that my back is clean."

"You are a very bad girl, Scarlett."

"Because I let my back hygiene get out of control?"

"We agreed to only twice a day. You naked in the shower with me is too tempting, but if we're together now, that's it for the rest of the day."

"I know how important that rule is to you. How you couldn't possibly break it, but if we spend an afternoon together and than we wait until after midnight—your rule is intact."

Jax pulled her close and kissed her. That Scarlett was always thinking. He should have known she'd have a solution.

Author's Note: Check out my new story I'm posting on February 7. After I finished Fighting Destiny, I swore I wouldn't write three stories at a time, but Taming Ava is almost finished and the more I think about this story, the more I'm loving it.

Hope you will read it and review and follow it.
