"Last night was amazing." Harmony overheard Cordelia saying. "Easily the best date I've ever had." Followed by Xander Harris' voice.

"Happy with your present, are you?" Xander teased.

"Definitely my favorite present ever." Cordelia agreed. Harmony moved around the corner and saw Cordelia and Xander kiss and then smile at each other, before Cordelia headed for her locker and Xander entered the Library.

"Cordelia, what are you doing?" Harmony asked, confused. "Since when are you dating Xander Harris? Sure, he's been dressing a lot better, but he's still a geek, isn't he? Did he join a sports team when we weren't looking?"

"No, just got emancipated and his own place. It's nice." Cordelia answered, checking her makeup in the mirror in her locker. "Are you still seeing Devon?" Referring to Oz's bandmate.

"No, he flaked on me. Totally blew off the date we had, what is it with guys in bands?"

"I don't know, but Oz seems like a nice guy." Cordelia gathered her books for her first class. "But he's seeing Willow, they're fellow geniuses."

"Are you going to see Xander again?"

"Yes, he's pretty smart himself and he can be funny. I had a great time on our date last night." Xander had taught her a concealment spell for her new sword after they'd finally come down from flying. Her new Pegasus, which needed a name, was now safely installed in the Chase's stables, with a concealment spell of her own on her. No one could see the wings. Cordelia had practiced some with the sword and found it worked as advertised and she'd known instinctively how to use it. "You might try a geek yourself, Harmony. Johnathan may be short but the one date I had with him proved he's going to be one of those geeks that ends up a millionaire." Cordelia suggested. "He could use some lessons in how to kiss, unlike Xander, Johnathan really doesn't have a clue when it comes to that. But he might be trainable."

"A millionaire?" Harmony looked thoughtful, she'd never considered the long term prospects of a date before, usually if a guy had money, it was because his parents had money. "He could probably use someone already experienced with living the highlife to help him. You've been dressing Xander, haven't you?"

"He bought what I told him to buy, but he bought it himself. There was no need for me to buy him anything, just teach him what worked better than those Hawaiian shirts."

"Where's he getting the money?"

"That's his business, Harmony." Cordelia answered, refusing to reveal Xander's secrets. "I've got class, see you later."

Harmony went in search of Johnathan after thinking about Cordelia's comments. Maybe he did have prospects, after all he was Class President. He might have a career in politics after he made those millions.

A very surprised Johnathan agreed to a date. First that foreign exchange student Ampata came on to him, then Cordelia went on a date with him, declaring 'geeks were the way to go'; before she'd started hanging out with the King of Geeks, Xander Harris and now Harmony Kendall asked him out. Getting elected Class President seemed to have put him on the girls' radar. He wasn't going to object, he was a genius after all.

Xander entered the Library and saw the others gathered. "How'd the supper with Ted go?" He asked Buffy.

"Well, he's aware that Willow's working at the same place he does now." Buffy answered. "Willow found out he's telling people he's engaged to Mom, which would come as a surprise to Mom if she knew that. I flat out asked if they were getting married and Ted said they hadn't discussed it yet. Mom and Dawn couldn't get enough of his cooking again and I felt sick to my stomach." Buffy reported. "It did not help that he told boring stories and they hung on his every word, all but oowing and awing. Dawn couldn't stop gushing about him after he left and I'm more certain than ever something's off with him."

"Than it's a good thing I've got some things for Willow and Oz to protect themselves with too, if your instincts bear out and aside from Angel they've never let us down. And they're not at fault for Angel, that was the Magic and the thrall on you. But, Willow working in the same office as a guy that's setting off your version of spider sense means she could be in danger from him."

"What have you got for me, Xander?" Willow asked, eagerly. "Because that Magic taser thing you gave Buffy is cool."

Xander set a pair of bracelets on the Library table in front of Willow and a box. "The bracelets are called Widow's Bite, they deliver a nonlethal electrical charge, like a taser, themselves. Nonmagical, Will and if you want to study them, go ahead. The box has Spider Bites. The bracelets are in case someone or something gets close. The Spider Bites can be thrown, they're also nonlethal and they also produce an electrical discharge, along with some nonlethal gas. What's in the box is all I've got though, so if you do study them, you can learn to make more."

Willow's eyes lit up. "Sweet, new toys!" She slipped the bracelets on and studied them. "How do I trigger these?" She asked.

"Jam it against the target, it takes a little force, combined with a mental command to set them off. They're tuning themselves to you, which means only you can use them. Like with Buffy's gift, it would suck if a demon got them away from you and used them on you."

"Studying them's going to be so much fun!"
