A/N Dematorin, the drug mentioned in this episode doesn't actually exist, but the description of its effects according to the transcript for the episode is it's a tranquilizer with some components of Ecstasy and makes a person mellow and compliant.
Ecstasy causes increased motor activity, (not like tranquilizers which do mellow you), alertness, accelerated heart rate, blood pressure, muscle tension, tremors, teeth clenching, nausea, sweating, euphoria, empathy, reduced inhibition, chills, blurred vision, confusion, anxiety, depression, paranoia, severe dehydration, sleep problems, and drug craving. Any or all. Description of Ecstasy is according to the DEA (drug enforcement website).
Dematorin sounds more like marijuana which can make people feel more happy or relaxed, while increasing their appetite. It can also cause hallucinations and paranoia.
No date of birth for Ted is mentioned but the Buffy wiki states he was made in the 1950's to replace his creator and unless he changed appearance, the original would have been in his late forties, as John Ritter, the actor who played him was 49 at the time, which would put the original Ted's date of birth in the early 1900's.

"Find anything, Willow?" Xander asked as he and Cordelia arrived in the chem lab looking for her and Buffy.
"The cookies are drugged." Willow answered. "I'm still trying to narrow it down, but I've found some things common to tranquilizers. Whatever the drug is, it would make a person feel mellow at least. It might make their appetites increase, some tranquilizers do."
"Would explain why Mom and Dawn have been acting the way they have." Buffy said grimly. "And can't get enough of his cooking. You guys find anything?"
"Aside from the fact that Cordy and I can get married as soon as we're 18?" Xander joked and got a light dope slap from Cordelia and a wide eyed look from Willow. "Ted Buchanan has apparently been married four times."
"He's been married four times?!" Buffy exclaimed. "How the Hell can he afford all the alimony on a salesman's salary?"
"There are no divorce degrees in his files, Buffy." Xander answered seriously. "He filed for marriage licenses in Sunnydale, five of them total and he would have been required to produce a divorce decree before being allowed another one. But no one seems to have connected those marriage licenses to the same man, even if they were filed in the same drawer. Each one had its own file, one after another in the drawer."
"Why wouldn't they connect them?" She asked. "Seems like a no brainer."
"Each Ted Buchanan has the same date of birth, September 17th." Xander told her. "But the year of birth is different for each of them. 1905 for the first one. The first marriage license is from the early 1930's. The next is in the 1960's, with a year of birth 1920; then in the 1970's, with a year of birth 1930. Then in the 1980's, year of birth 1940. The most recent one applied for is now, year of birth 1950, for a marriage to Joyce Summers, license only at this point. Which would make her wife number five. The Sunnydale Archives has no divorce degrees listed for him and no death certificates listed for any of those women. He could have divorced them in another state and those women could have died somewhere else, but he looks like he's probably in his late 40's according to his ID pictures. All but the first one has a picture of the same man, the first one doesn't have any pictures. And he doesn't appear to be aging."
"Maybe he isn't human after all." Willow suggested.
"Certainly not a normal human." Buffy agreed. "Is he using Magic to keep himself from aging?"
"I could check him with the Eye of Agamotto to see." Xander offered. "It would reveal the truth of what he is, as well as show any Magic."
"Let's do that." Buffy agreed. "What time is it?" She glanced at the clock on the wall. "Almost five, supper will be soon. Ted's not expected tonight, but I am. Mom's still on me about my homework and Ted's been making cracks about it too, so she expects me home for supper and I have to get it done right after."
"His address was listed on his paperwork, which is also the same in all of the files." Xander told her. "Cordy, Willow and I can go to the address and hide across the street and watch for him to come home. As long as I have an unobstructed view, I can get a read on him with the Eye."
"And if he turns out to be something other than a human?" Buffy asked, concerned. "Can you handle him?"
Cordelia snorted and Buffy and Willow looked at her questioningly. "Xander gave us all a way of protecting ourselves, remember? He gave me a sword that makes me as strong as a Slayer with instinctive abilities. Between his Magic, my new toy and Willow's new toys, I don't think there's a lot we can't handle."
"You don't know that for sure." Buffy pointed out. "Until you've actually tested them, but at least it gives you an advantage, especially since it's extremely unlikely that he would be aware of those toys or they're capabilities. Just be very careful, okay. I don't want you guys getting hurt trying to help me."
"Getting hurt helping someone, especially a friend, is a good way to get hurt." Cordelia answered. "As apposed to getting hurt doing something stupid."
The others thought about that for a moment and then nodded.
"Be careful." Buffy said again and headed for home to check on her mother and sister and keep them safe while her friends went to potentially risk themselves to help her and her family.
