The spell held and the three teens made it across the street where Cordelia used her new strength to break the knob on the front door and the three entered. Following the plan Willow threw the Spider Bite and it discharged both its electrical charge and it's gas. Ted jerked as sparks shot from his eyes as the electricity hit him and Cordelia sprang towards him and slammed her sword through his neck. The Dragonfang blade cut through even the metal and wires running through the neck and the robot fell over and laid still, an occasional spark the only sign of life.

"Okay, nice team work." Xander congratulated them as he herded them back out the door. "Let's let that gas dissipate before we go back in there, okay. Cordy, are you okay, you got close to it. It's supposed to be nonlethal, but it could still cause eye and skin irritation or make breathing hard."

"I was only in it for a few seconds," Cordelia breathed deeply of the night air. "I seem to be alright. If that changes I'll let you know, Doofus."

"Good." He worriedly watched her for a couple minutes but she did seem to be fine, the exposure too brief to cause any issues hopefully.

"If it's anything like smoke inhalation, it might cause a delayed reaction." Willow suggested. "We know that the gas is supposed to be nonlethal, but we have no idea what makes up the gas yet. I don't know if any mention of it was made in the comics, until I can analyze it, we just don't know."

"If it does, what should I look for?" Cordelia trusted Willow to know what she was talking about when it came to something sciencey.

"Coughing, breathing difficulties, dizziness, vomiting." Willow listed off a few possibilities. "Get to a hospital as fast as you can if you notice anything."

"I will." Cordelia continued to breathe deeply, feeling fine and hopeful she'd stay that way. "Now what?"

"Once it's clear in there, we search the place." Xander answered. "Find some clue to what his agenda was while Willow gets a new toy to study."

"Yeah!" Willow quietly cheered. "Okay, I forgive you for giving Cordelia a Pegasus, a robot's better."

"Says you." Cordelia muttered. "On the other hand, Xander does know what makes good gifts for each of us."

"Before we search the house, I need to cut off the electricity to it." Willow told them, getting back on track. "He may have security measures of his own in there, we're lucky we didn't set off an alarm."

"Being invisible we wouldn't show up on any cameras." Xander reminded her. "And the Spider Bite is small enough that it might not either, all anyone might see is sparks coming out of his eyes. But we need to find any recording equipment and check if he has any records."

"My department and maybe Ms. Calendar's." Willow led the others around the building. "Come on, Cordelia can use her fancy sword to cut where I tell her to cut."

Once that task was completed they returned to the front door. "Just out of curiosity," Xander murmured. "does anyone else find it odd that we've encountered two robots in less than a year? Okay, the first one was built by a demon using genius kids to house his mind since his body had been destroyed before he was imprisoned in a book. And I'll be the first to admit, what I know about robots comes from science fiction, but I honestly didn't think we had the technology to create actual robots yet. Especially ones that can think for themselves."

"I didn't think we did either." Willow answered. "Especially whenever this Ted robot was made. Would Magic help with it?"

"Theoretically, but the Magic would have faded a long time ago. It's been running on it's own since then, however long that is."

"Once I dig into its programming I might know. But working in computers means Ted could update his own components, he probably couldn't alter his own programming, but he could keep his body functioning."

Cordelia looked around the open room. "No one lived here." She decided. "Aside from the computer and work bench in the corner, the only thing in this room is that tacky rug on the floor."

"The computer and workbench I can understand." Xander said, looking at the rug. "He could use them to work on himself, the rug doesn't make any sense though." He lifted it up. "Unless of course he's using it to hide something like a trap door." He lifted it up and looked down. "Stairs," he started down them, the girls following and lights and music came on, the music was from a record player. "Must run off a generator."

"Talk about a time warp." Cordelia stared. "It's straight out of the fifties decorating style. Real fifties, not modern reproductions, this stuff is old and worn, it's original."

"This is where he lived." Xander moved around the space. "A kitchen, a bathroom, a bedroom, it's a bunker. The only way out is probably the stairs." He opened a closet and immediately shut it to keep the girls from seeing what was in it. He fought his stomach to keep from throwing up.

"Joyce was his agenda." Xander backed away from the closet. "I found his other wives, he's mummified them somehow and stacked them in the closet."

"Oh gods." Cordelia grimaced, grossed out and horrified at the same time. "He marries them, moves them in, keeps them until they die and than finds a new one."

"I hope that isn't what he was programmed to do and that he was malfunctioning." Willow looked equally as horrified. "How far was he willing to go to make Mrs. Summers wife number five?"
