Chapter Thirty-one: In my name
It was a peaceful enough morning in Lumiose City, Kalos. Sure, there was still the fact that Lumiose Tower was still utterly wrecked due to the actions of Team Heart (here in the Team Heart timeline, at least), meaning that until the tower is rebuilt, Clemont who is the Lumiose City gym leader has to keep up the work he's got in Alola where he and Bonnie moved, also here Clemont has a girlfriend and she went to Alola with Clemont and Bonnie.
Additionally, there's also how Team Heart had recently launched an attack in Lumiose City shortly after Serena who is the Champion of Kalos went to Kanto because Ash who is the Champion of Kanto called and asked her for help. The only reason that attack was pushed back was due to the fact that Dawn and her crew had just arrived in Kalos and picked up the slack, helping to fend off the members of a villainous multi-region criminal organization that currently rules over half of the world at this point.
But things were for the most part peaceful in Lumiose City at the moment. This was best shown where Professor Sycamore lives in Lumiose City. He was laying in his bed, the blanket pulled up, and he was asleep although he muttered in his sleep. "...Mmm... no, mumsy," Sycamore said in his sleep, "I don't wanna go to school today..."
All of a sudden, the door to Sycamore's bedroom was thrown open and Will, one of Sycamore's peers from when they were in Pokémon Professor school together way back in the day, came right on in. The commotion made by Will's entrance woke Sycamore up rather suddenly. "Get up already, Sycamore!" Will called out, "There's trouble afoot!"
"Ah! Will, what the heck?!" Sycamore exclaimed.
Appearing in the doorway to Sycamore's bedroom was Alain and Mairin. "Sorry, Professor Sycamore," Mairin said, "But this man who Alain says knows you came in all of a sudden and we couldn't stop him."
"Well at least let me get dressed first, Will," Sycamore said as to his old classmate as he sat up in bed, the blanket falling from him to reveal he was shirtless.
"Ahh!" Mairin cried out in alarm, "You're not wearing a shirt, Professor Sycamore!"
"Oh, Sycamore had a habit back when we were in school of never wearing any sort of top to bed," Will explained, "Our classmate Karly made the claim that Sycamore, same as Karly herself, actually always goes to bed in the nude." Scoffing a bit in amusement, Will laughed, "But that would just be utterly ridiculous."
"Uhh, yeah, that does sound utterly ridiculous," Sycamore said, sounding like he was going along with something to avoid having to give an embarrassing explanation, "Now all of you get out of my room and let me get dressed. And close the door behind you!"
"Well hurry up at least," Will said, "Team Heart is in the middle of launching another siege here in Lumiose City!"
"...Pardon?" Sycamore said, looking surprised.
"This is just fan-tucking-fastic!" Kenny exclaimed as he and the rest of the usual away team from The Big Beauty barely had a moment to catch their breaths after landing and parking the flying ship in an empty lot next to the Pokémon Center in Lumiose City located closest to Sycamore's Lab, "We barely finished our field research here in Kalos and came by to check in with Sycamore before we go pick up Jazmina and her family, and suddenly we're drawn into a Team Heart siege on the city!"
Dawn scowled as she and the rest of the away team made their way through the fighting. It's true, the reborn trainers had just gotten the last of the Kalos species of Pokémon registered as caught, meaning six out of nine regional Pokédexes (seven out of ten if Hisui is counted) are now fully completed. The heroes were going to check in with Sycamore before going to pick up Jazmina and her family to help them move to the Sinnoh region, which the crew's returning to anyway.
But barely a few minutes after The Big Beauty was parked, and suddenly a siege was launched on Lumiose City by Team Heart. Due to the actions of Captain West of the Kalos Sector, Team Heart forces were a LOT stronger now due to recovering numbers. The heroes who fought against those villains had a lot on their plate as they struggled with fending off wave after wave of Team Heart members all bent on beating down on Lumiose City and beginning the taking of the Kalos region.
With the usual away team was newest recruit to the crew of The Big Beauty, Calem. The reborn trainers were surprised to find him, given the fact that he's the male player character from the X and Y games back in their previous lives. Calem here also has romantic feelings for Serena who has the hots for Ash, but Kenny was sure that it wasn't going to see anything. As Calem ran with the away team, he and they all stopped when they heard a familiar female voice call out to them.
"Calem!" Shauna called out as she and Trevor were seen jogging up to the away team, "And you have Dawn and some friends of hers!"
"Shauna, Trevor, long time no see," Calem said, "I'd love to catch up with you two, but as you both can probably easily guess, we don't exactly have the luxury of doing that right now."
"You're telling me!" Trevor said, "Team Heart has launched another siege on Lumiose City! The city was still recovering from the siege that saw, among other things, the complete and utter destruction of Lumiose Tower when Team Heart launched their previous siege a short while ago! Team Heart just isn't going to stop, are they?"
"Not until they own everything, I feel," Dawn said, "Anyway, can you two help us and whatever other heroic trainers fight off Team Heart?"
"Ooh, where's Champion Serena when you need her?" Shauna asked.
"She left Kalos to go to Kanto to help Ash deal with increased Team Heart activity there," Trip explained.
"Ooh! So that means she's not here to try and take Calem from me!" Shauna said, looking and sounding oddly perked up and happy.
"I'm going to take some preemptive action here and call for everyone to put thoughts of romance on hold," Dawn said, "Because, ya know, THE CITY IS BEING BESIEGED BY TEAM HEART!"
"She's got a point," Kenny said, "We can discuss how to help Calem realize that Shauna is a better option for him later. For now, beating up the baddies that are attacking the city is a more pressing issue at the moment."
The heroes with Trevor and Shauna were about to take off, but stopped short when James and Meowth came jogging up to them. "Captain Twerp!" James called out, "Hold up!"
"James? Meowth?" Dawn said, "What's going on? Is The Big Beauty under attack?"
"No, the rest of the crew has the ship secure," Meowth replied, "The thing is that since we're so close to Sycamore's Lab, we're able to see that it's particularly under attack by a bunch of Team Heart members! We even saw two uniquely dressed members of Team Heart, both of them women with one of them being even fatter than Alexis, part of the efforts of the siege on the lab!"
"Those uniquely dressed women must be an Admin and her Assistant," Dawn said.
Folding his arms over his chest, Trip said, "And we've gotten it that Team Heart Admins have all been subjected to various forms of discrimination in the past, each Admin being subjected to a different form of discrimination each. I'm betting that the fat lady is the Admin and that she's been subjected to fatphobia."
"That's the form of discrimination that Team Heart abhors above all others," Paul remarked, drawing an affirmative nod from Trip.
Looking to the rest of the heroes plus Shauna and Trevor, Dawn said, "You guys go on to help fight off Team Heart in the city. James, Meowth, and I are heading to Sycamore's lab to help fend off Team Heart there and rescue Sycamore!"
The heroes all agreed and took off, with Dawn and James calling out Lincoln the named Latios and Arcanine respectively, hopping onto their respective Pokémon with Meowth joining James, and the two of them sped off for Sycamore's Lab together, hoping that they will be in time to save Sycamore and his Lab from the trouble that had come to them.
Over at Sycamore's Lab, Dawn, James, and Meowth arrived to a scene where multiple good trainers were trying to fight off Team Heart. Dawn and James got off of Lincoln and Arcanine, called them back, and then with Meowth ran through and got to the lab, where they busted their way in. Once inside, the heroes saw more fighting going on. "We need to find Professor Sycamore," Dawn said to the boys, "He's probably a prime target for Team Heart to take aim at."
"Got it," James said as he and Meowth nodded in agreement with Dawn. The heroes ran on through, although Dawn had to call out Entreri, her named alpha Sneasler, and James had to call out his Victreebell, in order to help them fight their way through as they searched for Sycamore. Meowth was being no slouch either, given that he helped by knocking out a few enemy Pokémon as he along with Dawn and James made their way.
Eventually, Dawn, James, and Meowth came upon a fairly large room, in which Sycamore was being cornered by pair of uniquely dressed female Team Heart members. "Oi ladies!" Meowth called out, making the women perk up and turn around, "We're gonna have to ask that the two of you leave the professor there alone!"
When the women turned around, Dawn was able to get a good look at them. The first woman stood out due to being incredibly fat; Dawn with a glance was able to accurately guess her to weigh at least as much as Tabitha, who clocks in at a shade over a quarter ton. The fat Team Heart lady was fair skinned, brownish hair that's chin length, and she wears a black hair band in her hair, a pink choker collar, pink sleeveless midriff exposing tank top, black leather bracers, a black skirt going halfway down her thighs, black stockings, pink boots that almost reach her knees, and a black Team Heart 'H' was on her tank top over the left breast.
As for the other Team Heart lady, she unlike her companion was slender of body. The thin Team Heart lady was fair skinned, had brunette hair in a ponytail, she wore a pink leather eye patch over her left eye (whether it was for style or due to injury, Dawn couldn't say), a pink sleeveless tank top, a black arm warmer on her right forearm, black pants, pink boots that almost reach her knees, and she had a black Team Heart 'H' on her tank top over the left breast.
"I have no idea what you ladies are up to," James swore, "But we cannot allow you to do anything foul to the Professor!"
"Katey here and I were only going to be discussing business with Professor Sycamore," said the fat Team Heart lady, "There's no need for you would be heroes to butt your heads into places where they aren't wanted."
Dawn gently shook her head. "It's obvious that Professor Sycamore is in distress. We're butting in regardless if you want it or not."
Scoffing in annoyance, the fat Team Heart lady said, "Very well, I suppose we'll have to battle you. But before we get to business, I suppose that you're owed an introduction." Gesturing to herself, the fat Team Heart lady said, "I'm Tress, the Admin of the Kalos Sector of Team Heart. The lady with me is Katey, like I had previously said. She is my Admin's Assistant."
Taking up a Pokéball, Katey said, "You two have messed with the wrong ladies of Team Heart! Go, Dusclops!"
"Go, Walrein!" Tress said as she and Katey sent out a Walrein and a Dusclops respectively.
"Entreri, you're already out," Dawn said as she sent in her alpha Sneasler.
"Victreebell, you too," James said.
Once both partial poison types who were already out got into the battle, Tress called out, "Walrein, use Ice Beam on Victreebell!"
"Dusclops, use Shadow Punch on that Sneasler thing!" Katey said.
"Victreebell, use Leaf Blade on Dusclops!" James ordered.
"Entreri, use Brick Break on Walrein!" Dawn commanded.
Entreri was the fastest, rushing in and striking Walrein hard with Brick Break, knocking it out before it could even fire its Ice Beam at Victreebell. As for Victreebell, its Leaf Blade scored a critical hit that knocked out Dusclops before it could get off its Shadow Punch, an attack that Entreri would not have been able to avoid.
Tress and Katey were forced to call back their respective fainted Pokémon before sending out their next ones. "Go, Hariyama!" Tress said as she sent out a Hariyama.
"Go, Dusclops!" Katey said as she sent out a second Dusclops, "Use Curse on Victreebell!"
"Hariyama, use Brick Break on that Sneasler thing!" Tress ordered.
"Entreri, use Aerial Ace on Hariyama!" Dawn commanded.
"Victreebell, use Leaf Blade on Dusclops!" James called out.
Once more, Entreri was the fastest, moving in and striking Hariyama with an Aerial Ace attack that went critical and knocked Hariyama out. Victreebell's Leaf Blade did NOT go critical, but it still took out the second Dusclops. But that's due to Dusclops's Curse halving its health and laying a curse on Victreebell. It was on a ticking timer now unless called back, and it was pained by its curse.
Either way, Tress and Katey were forced to call back their respective fainted Pokémon for a second time before sending out their last Pokémon. "Go, Snorlax!" Tress said.
"Go, Dusknoir!" Katey said, "Use Fire Punch on Victreebell!"
"Snorlax, use Crunch on that Sneasler thing!" Tress called out.
"Victreebell, use Leaf Blade on Dusknoir!" James commanded.
"Entreri, use Shadow Claw on Dusknoir!" Dawn ordered.
Entreri was the fastest yet again, rushing at Dusknoir and taking it out with a critical hit super effective Shadow Claw. This made Victreebell change course and strike Snorlax with Leaf Blade, scoring a critical hit but not quite knocking it out. Snorlax was then able to land Crunch on Entreri, but it didn't do much to the named alpha Sneasler. Victreebell was pained by its curse for a second time after that.
But the curse was lifted during the next round, where the weakened Snorlax was taken out by the named Entreri with a well aimed Dire Claw, winning the battle for Dawn, James, and Meowth who had snuck Sycamore over to Dawn and James while they had Tress and Katey distracted with the battle just now. "It's over, ladies," James said, "Whatever it is that you have planned for Professor Sycamore, it ain't gonna fly now!"
Tress and Katey were cornered, knowing that things were looking tight for them. As they were both weighing their options, Professor Minerva came into the room, followed by her Ariados who was blinking a lot as if it had something in its eyes. "Are you in need of assistance?" Minerva asked as she addressed the heroes.
"Oh thank goodness, Minerva!" Sycamore said, "Yes! Those ladies in the unique Team Heart outfits! We need to capture them!"
"Well hopefully my Ariados is up to the task, he took a Sand Attack to the face a short while ago," Minerva said. Gesturing forward, Minerva said, "Ariados, use Spider Web to trap the enemies!"
Ariados cried out in affirmation although it was clear there was some distress in its tone, before it reared back and cast a Spider Web attack that looked big enough to cover and trap Tress and Katey. Unfortunately, due to bad aim on Ariados's part, the Spider Web attack landed on Dawn, James, Sycamore, and the Pokémon with them instead. "Ah! It covered us in the Spider Web attack instead!" Sycamore cried out in alarm.
"I am so sorry about that!" Minerva called out, "But I did say that Ariados's accuracy was a bit on the compromised side!"
"Quickly, let's get away!" Katey said to Tress as they both turned and ran to get away, although Tress's considerable girth made it hard for her to run.
"Gaahh, we'll try to untangle ourselves," James said to Minerva, "You go after those villainous ladies, Professor Minerva!"
"Right," Minerva said before recalling her Ariados and giving chase after Tress and Katey. It was times like this that REALLY made Dawn utterly hate moves that compromise a Pokémon's ability to land hits on the right target.
Hopefully Minerva will be able to catch Tress and Katey.
Eventually, things settled down in Lumiose City. Minerva was unfortunately unable to catch up to Tress and Katey as some Team Heart grunts got in her way. When Will who was still in Lumiose City asked Minerva why her Ariados used Spider Web to trap the wrong people, Minerva explained that Ariados's accuracy was compromised a bit earlier but Ariados was STILL the best bet she had to safely trap people she wanted to capture.
"Don't any of your other Pokémon have moves to trap targets?" Will asked.
"My Galvantula knows Electro Web," Minerva began, "But I refuse to use that to trap people on the grounds it would electrocute them. As much as I want to capture villains as much as the next person, I refuse to knowingly use methods that could cause direct physical harm to others. I unlike members of Team Heart am not a monster."
Dawn couldn't exactly blame Minerva; there were certain things that those who are against Team Heart simply cannot do, even if it would make things easier for the heroes acting against Team Heart. Dawn looked over, saw Trevor and Shauna check with Sycamore with Shauna hugging him out of relief as she cried. It reminded Dawn that the crew of The Big Beauty, if they run into Tierno, ought to check up on him.
...
Luckily for Kalos, Serena returned shortly after the successfully repelled Team Heart siege on Lumiose City. "Yeah, even Ash and I were able to tell that things in Kanto seemed like they were set up to try to lure me out of Kalos," Serena said, "Given what all Team Heart in Kalos was up to while I was out of region, it's obvious that they wanted me out of the way to make taking over Kalos a lot easier for them."
Dawn would have spoken up, but Calem in flirtatious goof mode cried out in elation upon seeing Serena and twirled his way over, again reminding Dawn of Brock when he acted in a similar manner towards girls in general. However as soon as Calem got within arm's reach of Serena, the Kalos Champion cut him off by throwing a punch right into his face. Calem fell back and covered his face with both of his hands as he cried out in pain.
"Back..." Serena said, her tone and expression conveying mild annoyance, "...off."
Snickering in amusement, Kenny said, "I had expected something like that to happen to Calem if he ever got to try to flirt with Serena."
The Big Beauty was later over in Camphrier Town, picking up Jazmina and her family which was made up of her husband and their four children. All of the family's stuff was being loaded into the cargo hold of the flying ship when Dawn and Jazmina were approached by a maid who very clearly worked for one of the Kalosian noble families. Seeing this, Jazmina right away got suspicious, as well as a little bit defensive.
"What poison words from your master do you have for me?" Jazmina asked, her tone a little bit on the accusatory side, "I'm in the middle of leaving Kalos for good. Or am I not going fast enough for the liking of your master?"
"I actually work for Grand Duchess Sabine, good Ranger," the maid explained.
Rounding the corner was Kaito Fu, who jogged a bit to catch up to the maid. "Yo Milly, wait up for a bit," Kaito called out as he caught up.
Dawn regarded Kaito with a curious look. "Kaito? What brings you to Camphrier Town?" Dawn asked.
Gesturing to Dawn, Kaito with a troubled look said, "Things aren't exactly looking too good for the Grand Duchess and her holdings, I'm afraid. She wants to ask a favor of you, Dawn."
Jazmina settled down, knowing that the Kalosian noble involved is actually one of the few good ones; also potentially Sabine's daughter Maaya as well, but Maaya is also a good girl. "I suppose I ought to come along as well," Jazmina said, "I apologized to the Grand Duchess for having to let her first born daughter drown, but I haven't yet said anything to the second born daughter for letting her older sister drown."
Kaito nodded once in understanding. "Knowing the history between Maaya and the late Sarah," Kaito began, "There is no love lost there. The first thing Maaya did upon hearing that Sarah died was to go into Sarah's room and steal back a pair of ruby drop earrings that Sarah took from Maaya. Those earrings, according to Maaya, were the last gift she got from a deceased relative of hers. I'm also not the biggest fan in the world of the late Sarah, given what she tried to do to me."
Dawn and Jazmina both acknowledged the point before going with Kaito and the maid to see what it was that Sabine wanted. Dawn could only hope that things wouldn't be all that bad, but a nagging voice in the back of Dawn's head told her to brace herself for the worst.
...
"Gym Leader Olympia of the Anistar City gym had foreseen that Kalos shall soon come under great peril from Team Heart," Sabine began to explain to Dawn and Jazmina as Kaito stood off to the side with Asami, Maaya, and a third girl who Dawn recognized was Rina, the Captain's Assistant of Xandir back in the Team Scorn timeline. "The foreseen peril is greater than any Team Heart has done to Kalos to date," Sabine went on.
"How bad?" Dawn asked.
"Bad enough that Kalos may very well fall to the Team Heart Empire and be consumed by it," Sabine went on, drawing surprised looks from Dawn and Jazmina, "Even with Champion Serena back home in Kalos now, Kalos's odds of fending off the foreseen peril do not look good."
"Kalos has fought back all efforts of Team Heart before," Jazmina began, "What all had Olympia foreseen with her psychic powers has her worried?"
"A fact that Kalos's government had overlooked," Sabine said, "That being how Kalos actually shares a border with Paldea."
Yeah, that ought to do it. "You think that Team Heart will invade Kalos from Paldea?" Dawn asked.
"We are uncertain at the moment," Sabine replied, "But nothing can be put past Team Heart at this point, especially given their past history combined with what Olympia had foreseen. Hence why I am taking some preemptive measures now."
"And what are said preemptive measures?" Jazmina asked.
Stepping forward, Kaito said, "The Grand Duchess wishes to have Dawn safely escort her daughter Maaya out of the Kalos region and to one of the free lands, where Maaya can be kept safe until the coast is clear."
"That would explain Maaya being here," Dawn said, "Asami as well." Eyeing up Rina, Dawn went on while pointing at her, "But she's new."
"Rina here... fell into my ownership after her previous slave master, an old friend of mine named Xandir, died as a result or wounds he took while saving a lesser Kalosian noble from being taken by Team Heart forces," Kaito explained, a troubled and grim expression on his face, "I have been charged by the Grand Duchess with staying as guardian for her daughter, so I have to come along. As such, I also have to bring Asami and Rina."
Dawn was a bit surprised to hear that Xandir died here in the Team Heart timeline, but she had to put her surprise for the time being aside. "...You can most likely find a place to settle with the girls here in Sunyshore City in my home region of Sinnoh," Dawn explained to Kaito, "Volkner, the leader of the Sunyshore City gym, heads up a local militia of trainers in Sunyshore City to fend off the local Team Heart members."
"Will Maaya be in any danger?" Sabine asked.
Shrugging, Dawn replied, "I doubt it, given how... eccentric... the members of the Sinnoh native Sector of Team Heart had proven to be. It'll be especially useful if Maaya disguised herself to make herself less recognizable to Team Heart members, if Team Heart does end up trying to get into the business of going after Kalosian nobles."
Sabine nodded once in understanding before explaining that she also has to send along a servant staff of two maids and two butlers to tend to Maaya as need be. Said servants will also have all of the necessary info to help Maaya head up the noble family, should the worst case scenario end up coming to pass. Dawn was glad that The Big Beauty had as much space as it did, and all of the extra people coming along were all gonna be dropped off in Sinnoh.
Things were looking to be a bit... packed.
In an undisclosed location somewhere in the Kalos region, Minerva stood before a consul table at which sat the four Captains and Admin Tress of the Kalos Sector of Team Heart, with Tress sitting in the middle. The respective Assistants of the officers all stood behind their respective Officers, their backs to the wall.
"Your efforts to help Team Heart weaken Kalos enough to take it over have proven invaluable, Professor Minerva," Tress said in a commending tone, "Were it not for the companionship of Dawn Berlitz showing up in Kalos and filling the gap during which Champion Serena was out of region, we might very well have been at least part way through conquering Kalos by now."
"The arrival of Dawn Berlitz and her companionship in Kalos was not something that could have been anticipated," Minerva remarked, "I had to adjust my plans on the fly just to avoid giving myself up as a mole working for Team Heart. That included a few occasions where I had openly acted as an enemy of Team Heart."
"Yeah, maintaining your cover is important," West replied, "It's a good thing only Officer Staff members of the Kalos Sector, plus Lady Bianca, are aware of your status as a mole."
Minerva nodded once in acknowledgement. "I also had to have my Pokémon act a certain way to help maintain the charade," Minerva went on, "Like telling my Ariados in secret ahead of time to use Spider Web on Dawn and her group while saying out loud to use it on 'the enemy', also Ariados pretended to have been suffering from a Sand Attack to the face so that it could be used as an excuse when Dawn and her party were caught 'by mistake'."
"You're very resourceful, Professor Minerva," Kenji commended, "You're proving to be of great use to the will of the Team Heart Empire."
"I believe that Team Heart Empire rule is the best possible thing for Kalos," Minerva said, "Only Team Heart rule for Kalos can make effective progress in fixing what's wrong with the region and making sure it stays fixed."
"Yes, Team Heart when it takes over Kalos will have quite a bit of clean up to do in order to bring about real justice," Tress said, "Although it's looking right now that Team Heart may struggle a bit in bringing Kalos to kneel. Perhaps I could request aid from Admin Hochu of the Paldea Sector, Kalos and Paldea does share a border."
Minerva nodded once in understanding. "Just let me know how I can be of help in bringing Kalos to the Team Heart Empire on a silver platter."
A good while later, The Big Beauty landed in Twinleaf Town, Sinnoh. Jazmina and her family got off, as did the group of Kaito, Asami, Rina, and Maaya. However, one more guest that the reborn trainers had to bring with them from Kalos would be sticking with them as she needs a lift to her home land of the Alola region.
"Because of the blame I got in that one incident at the Tower of Mastery in Shalour City," began Lana's mom, "The noble family who I worked for fired me, despite how they hate the noble family who was inconvenienced in the incident. I have no other means of being able to support myself in Kalos, partly due to Kalosian nobility not liking me because I was blamed for helping to mar them, so I have to return to Alola. I'll have to crash with my parents until I can find work local in Alola."
"You think we should call ahead and let Lana, her sisters, and their dad know we have to bring you back home to Alola?" Kenny asked.
Sighing, Lana's mom replied, "It's for the best, yes. But I highly doubt that they'll be happy to see me. My husband Yasuhiro was extremely mad with me when he found out about how I was simply trying to help ensure that our daughters will be able to catch male attention."
Trip let out a knowing sigh, able to see where this was going due to remembering something similar in the Team Scorn timeline. "...Let me guess," Trip said, "You were feeding them as little as possible to keep them as thin as possible because you firmly believe in the idea that girls can't get guys to like them unless the girls in question are thin."
"Well how ELSE can girls get guys to like them?" Lana's mom asked, "I mean, name one girl who's both fat and has a boyfriend."
"I can name a girl who is both fat and has a husband," Paul spoke up as he came walking on over, "Gym Leader Roark of the Oreburgh City gym is married to a girl who is friends with former Veilstone City gym leader Maylene. The girl in question is undeniably fat, but she still got married to Roark. Her weight by no means bothers Roark."
"And I bet that Bianca who heads up the Team Heart Empire has no shortage of guys wanting to knock on her door despite how she's also rather fat," Kenny said, "But then again, what guy wouldn't wanna bed the girl who rules over half of the world?"
Gesturing to Lana's mom, Dawn said, "What is found to be appealing differs from person to person, ma'am. No one standard covers everything."
Lana's mom looked surprised by what she was being told. She still firmly believed that girls had to be thin to be found appealing by guys, but here she was being presented with a few points on how girls of size can still get guys. Perhaps they're exceptions that prove the rule. Lana's mom refused to think that being fat is something that's okay for girls to do. She was thin when she landed Yasuhiro and married him, before he divorced her upon finding out she was doing to their daughters what she had done to herself.
Does Yasuhiro NOT want Lana, Harper, and Sarah to all get married one day? They won't be able to get guys to notice them if they're not slender of body. All that happened was a mother being unfairly punished for trying to do the right thing, also Yasuhiro was totally blowing things out of proportion, she was NOT 'starving' their daughters. They were still getting food to eat.
...It was just that it was as little food as possible to make sure the girls didn't get fat.

Bianca, the Boss's Assistant of Team Heart and the public face ruler of the Team Heart Empire, was alone in a private room in her mansion home in the wealthy neighborhood in Opelucid City. Only she could enter this room. But then again, it served as the one place that Bianca could go to in order to speak to the one person whose voice carries more weight than her own. And who exactly can such a person be, one may ask?
The Boss of Team Heart themselves.
The Boss appeared in a hologram image; they wore sunglasses, a gaiter mask worn up to cover their face's lower half, a hooded long sleeved coat with a large hood worn up, baggy cargo pants, and boots. It was impossible to tell what gender the person was, especially as they confirmed that they wore on the choker collar around their neck under the gaiter mask a voice modifying dial, so even their voice was unknown for real.
"The plans to take Kalos for the Empire has... unfortunately run into a delay," Bianca said to the hologram, "Trainers of great strength came into Kalos while Kalos Champion Serena was lured out. Were it not for the mole that Admin Tress has working for her, then Kalos wouldn't be as weak as it is right now."
"I had always figured that Kalos, the land that I want the most, would prove to be very difficult for Team Heart to take," said the hologram of the boss, "Although we did run into some rather terrible luck with some would be heroes running around unchecked."
"A plan was proposed," Bianca began, "By some of the Admins. Kalos although not taken is still weakened. A possible invasion of Kalos from Paldea can be done, with flying ships from the recently conquered kingdom once under the rule of Princess Salvia transporting troops over the mountains. Admins Tress and Hochu will need to coordinate with one another to pull this off."
The hologram of the Boss gave a contemplative hum before saying, "Kalos is still too strong, it'll need to be compromised more. I shall personally look into matters, wait for further updates. But I do very much like the idea of an invasion of Kalos from Paldea. I shall contact you the next time I have need to speak with you." The hologram then blinked out of existence, leaving Bianca be.

Over in a room at an undisclosed location in an undisclosed area, the Boss of Team Heart stepped off of a platform that was in front of a camera. The tech in that set up was turned off, and the Boss hopped off of the platform and proceeded to walk alone through their lab. The Boss stopped in front of a framed photo sitting on a desk.
Picking it up, the Boss looked at the photo; it showed a much younger Professor Sycamore and all of his classmates. It even showed one girl never seen by Dawn Berlitz and her companionship; a fair skinned, glasses wearing girl with long dark wavy hair, also she was incredibly fat, at least as much as Bianca who is the Boss's Assistant.
The Boss sat the photo down on the desk again, then lowered their hood and gaiter mask, took off their sunglasses and hidden leather choker collar. They moved to sit in a plush leather armchair in the room that they were in, taking a moment to relax and unwind. The Boss was tired and annoyed, but had some food for thought as they contemplated a possible invasion of Kalos from Paldea.
The idea pleased Professor Yvonne, the Boss of Team Heart. She threw her head back and laughed a bit as things, though they seemed far away, were beginning to fall into place for her, for what all she desired. Soon, all that there is shall be under Yvonne's heel. Soon those who had mocked her back when she was the fat and nerdy looking Serena will tremble.
Yvonne smirked in dark amusement as she thought of how soon all of the world shall soon be taken. "...In my name," Yvonne remarked aloud but to herself.

Author's notes;
This chapter sees an attack on Lumiose City launched by Team Heart, and here Dawn and James confront Tress and Katey. Although the Admin and her Assistant are defeated in battle, they end up getting away due to a mistake on part of Professor Minerva. But the attack is ultimately repelled and the heroes win the day.
However, a number of things occur; it's not just Jazmina and her family that are taken to Sinnoh, a group consisting of Kaito, Asami, Rina, and Maaya also go as trouble is foreseen for the nobility of Kalos by Olympia, and Sabine wants to protect her only remaining daughter. Also, it turns out that Minerva is the mole working for Team Heart.
But that's not the most surprising part; Professor Yvonne turns out to not only be Sycamore's lost classmate Serena from Pokémon Professor school, but Yvonne is also the Boss of Team Heart. What is Yvonne's end goal? That will be found out later on as the Kalos arc comes to an end here. The next chapter will be the start of the Alola arc. Until then, take care.
