The girls are all in the bathroom getting ready to go to bed; Leni is brushing her hair, Luan is flossing, Lola and Lana are brushing their teeth, Lily is taking a little bath in the sink, Lori is applying dabs of ointment on her face, Luna is rubbing some purple facial cream, Lucy and Lynn are fighting over the toothpaste, and Lisa is jotting down notes.
Luna is singing, "I'm washin' my face, 'cause it makes me feel so beautiful. "
Luan gets floss stuck in her braces, "Hey, look! I'm at a floss for words!" She laughs.
Leni smile as she brushes her hair, "I brush my hair exactly 50 times a night to keep it beautiful. 34...35...36..."
Lori smiled, "Hey, Leni, how old is David?"
"16...17...18..." Leni loses count thanks to Lori.
Lori smiles slyly because of her little joke.
Lynn tugs against Lucy for the toothpaste, "Hey! I had the toothpaste first!"
Lucy doesn't backdown, "No, I did."
Lynn tried pulling back, "Keep your spooky hands off it!"
While the girls get ready, Lincoln pops in and looks around and snatches the toothpaste out of Lynn's hand, "I'll take that."
Lynn gets mad, "Hey! Learn to share!"
Lincoln accidentally dabs toothpaste on Lily's head and hands the tube back to Lynn. He notices he missed his toothbrush and gets the paste off Lily's head.
Space...the final frontier. As you might imagine, with ten sisters, space is limited. Everywhere Lincoln goes, he gotta deal with the crowds. But being the only boy in the family comes with a perk. While his sisters all have to share bedrooms, he got his own. Sure it's just a converted linen closet, but it was his own space. His own little oasis in the sands of the Loud House. And he wouldn't give it up for the world.
Before he starts brushing his teeth, at that very moment, a loud thud is heard, Lincoln goes up to Lynn and Lucy's room where the other girls are listening; Lynn and Lucy are having a fight.
Lynn threw her arms around, "You're always Miss Gloom and Doom! Like, would it kill you to smile once in a while?!"
Lucy glared at Lynn, "It would."
Lincoln looked confused, "What's going on?"
Lori looked towards Lincoln, "Lucy and Lynn are going at it. Again."
"I'd make a joke about fighting, but I can't think of a good punchline." Luan said then laughs. "Get it? Get it?"
Lisa pulls out a tape recorder and starts recording, "Human subjects seem to be proving Charles Darwin correct."
Leni looked worried, "I can't bear to watch!" She puts cucumber slices over her facial mask. "That's better."
A jock strap comes flying out of the room and the others duck in time to avoid it.
Lori looked back at the fight, "I'd hate to get in the middle of this one."
Lincoln nodded, "I totally agree." He goes back to his room while the jock and goth of the family continue their quarrel, "A perk to having my own room? I don't have to get involved."
Before he starts to brush, someone's knocking on his door and it's revealed to be Lynn dressed in a white T-shirt, red shorts, and white socks stood in the hallway. She put on a big, friendly grin holding a pillow.
Lincoln grew curious of her at his door, "Hey, Lynn. What's up?"
Lynn pointed behind her, "There's no way I'm staying in the same room with the Duchess of Darkness. Can I bunk in your bedroom tonight?"
Lincoln grew nervous, "Uh...I'd say yes, but it's not really a bedroom, per se. There's barely enough space for me; tiny, small, cramped."
Lynn became downtrodden, "Ugh...I guess I'll just go sleep in the bathtub."
Lincoln perked up, "That's a great idea! Problem solved. Goodnight."
Right before he closes the door, Lynn gives him puppy eyes.
Lincoln was relieved, "Aah..." He guiltily sighs and opens the door, "All right, you can stay. But just for one night."
Lynn smiles, "Thanks, Lincoln!" She busts out a fist.
Lincoln flinches, "Ah!"
Lynn yells, "Two for flinching!" She playfully punches his arm twice and goes in, laughing.
Lincoln watches her enter 'It's just for one night. What's the worst that could happen?' He goes in, "Okay, we'll have to establish a few ground rules. One, keep your hands off my..."
By that point it was too late for an invitation; she had already found a basketball and was dribbling it back and forth. Lincoln shut the door, on the back of which was a hoop. Lynn tried to get past him, but he blocked her, and when she went to shoot the ball, he jumped up and spiked it out of the air; it hit the wall and bounced back. He grabbed it and turned to throw it into the hoop, but Lynn speared him from the side and they both fell to the floor with a house shaking thump. They sat up and shook themselves off like two dogs coming in out of the rain. "You got some game," Lynn said, "but can you hackey?"
She pulled a hacky-sack out of her pocket and held it up.
Lincoln grabbed it and jumped up, "I can sack with the best of them." He dropped the hackey and kicked it with the side of his foot. Lynn hit it before it could touch the ground and they went back and forth for a while, each hopping on one foot. "You gotta do better, Principal Lynner." Lincoln said.
"Keep talking smack, Stinkin." Lynn said.
Being called by the odd nickname threw Lincoln off his game and the hackey hit the floor. Lynn dropped to her knees, ripped her shirt, and threw her arms into the air. "WHOOOOOOOO!"
"Do you eat pumpkin?" Lincoln asked. "'Cause you're a cheater."
"Hey, you called me a funny name first." Lynn said.
She got to her feet and playing with his giant robot action figure and then Lynn messes with his doodads. Lynn touches his clock. Lynn grabs Bun-Bun looks at him then tosses Bun-Bun on to the bed.
Lincoln brushes his teeth as Lynn messes with his stuff, he spits out the toothpaste into his wastebasket and tosses his toothbrush on to the desk, "So what do you wanna now?"
Lynn rubbed her chin, "Well you have a fun new roommate! Let's Lucha!"
Lincoln jumped, "Guh?!"
Lynn puts a wrestling mask over Lincoln's head, "Lucha Libre!"
Lincoln panicked, "Wait! I never Lucha before!"
Lynn got on top of Lincoln's bed, "It's Lunatic Lynn off the third turnbuckle!" She leaps off the foot of Lincoln's bed.
Lynn lands on top of Lincoln and starts wrestling him to the ground and pins him down, "One, two, three! You're out. Yeah! Lunatic Lynn is El Campeón del Mundo!"
Lincoln was fatigued and bruised, "Can we just go to sleep? There's less pain involved."
Lynn smiled, "Not when you're a sleep fighter like me!" She busts out a fist.
Lincoln gave a deadpan look.
Lynn smiled, "You didn't flinch, someone is learning." Lynn laughed. Lynn got to her feet and climbed up onto the bed, "Is this my bed?" she asked.
Lincoln picked up the hacky sack, "Our bed I only got one silly." A smile touched his face at his sister's silly question.
Lynn flopped onto the mattress, shaking the bed. "It is kinda cool in here." A moment later, one of her socks dropped onto the floor, followed by the other; the second landed half on the edge of Lincoln's bed. He caught a whiff of them and nearly gagged.
"You stink." Lincoln said.
"I know you do." Lynn said.
Lincoln turns off the lights, get in his bed and kicked the sock onto the floor, "Don't make me combat your stench with mine. You will lose."
Lynn laughed, "Is that a challenge I smell?" she asked.
Cocking his butt, Lincoln farted. "No, it's something else."
A second later, Lynn farted. "Two can play that game," she said.
Hahaha, foolish girl. Didn't she know that he and Delilah stopped at Taco Bell on their way home from school? He was like a frigging machine gun, locked and loaded and ready to go. He could do this all night and part of the day tomorrow. He farted and waved it up toward Lynn. She returned fire, and in moments, the room was clogged with the combined stench of two nasty people.
"Ugh! Lynn!" Lincoln yelled and laughed.
Lynn pulls the covers over Lincoln, "DUTCH OVEN!" She laughs as Lincoln cries in distress over the gas she let out.
Lincoln grabs the covers and drags Lynn under with him, "REVERSE DUTCH OVEN!" He laughs as Lynn cries in distress this time.
They both get out of the covers and breathes heavily before laughing.
"You're a tough one." Lynn said.
"Yeah." Lincoln said with chuckle, "You guys toughed me up."
Lynn starts ricocheting a tennis ball off the wall.
Lincoln looks irritated, "What are you doing?"
Lynn smiles, "What? It helps me fall asleep."
Lincoln rolls his eyes, "Well, it doesn't help me. Can you knock it off? Lincoln yawns, "How can that help anyone..sleep.."
Lynn was about to throw the ball at Lincoln's head, but sees him get sleepy and decides to call it a night, "Goodnight, baby bro."
"Goodnight...big sis." Lincoln said.
Later, Lynn is snoring so loud and drooling so much, Lincoln wakes up, he grabs his Noise-B-Gone 2000 Earbuds and begins to go back to sleep.
The next morning, Lincoln and Lynn went downstairs for breakfast, laughing and talking about the wrestling match they had shortly after they woke up. Lincoln, for what it's worth, hated exercise but he was totally fine with playing or sports. That stuff was actually real fun and He didn't admit defeat easily, but Lynn owned him in their three rounds. He only came close to winning one of them, and that was only because he cheated and used a pro wrestling move.
While pro wrestling is faker than a three dollar bill, a lot of the moves were real and could do serious damage if not done right. Lincoln was hoping to do a little damage to Lynn, that way he could win for once, but she countered by putting him in a crippler crossface which hurt like heck and almost broke Lincoln's nose. "You coulda put me in the hospital." Lincoln laughed.
"But I didn't." Lynn pointed out. "I let up at the last second. You're welcome."
Lucy, Lana, Lola, and Lisa were sitting at the dining room table with bowls of cereal when Lincoln and Lynn walked in. Lucy shot them a dirty look, Lynn gave her a dirty back. He and Lynn both got their own bowls and sat next to each other. Lucy stole a furtive look at Lynn and growled under her breath. "Got something to say, Luce?" Lynn asked.
"Yeah, why don't you go over to your boyfriend's and wrestle some more? Maybe you'll do us all a favor and kill each other." Lucy said.
Lana, Lana and Lisa all, "Ooooooh!" and Lincoln flinched at Lucy's hurtful words.
"Lucy! You shouldn't say stuff like that. You should make up with Lynn!" Lincoln said crossed at his little sister.
"I'd rather wear pink." Lucy said before grabbed her bowl and got up. Lucy went into the living room and sat on the couch. If he leaned back in his chair, Lincoln could see turning on the TV.
Lincoln frowned at Lucy's stubborn. He was gonna talk to her.
"You wanna head to the park?" Lynn asked around a mouthful of food. "We can ride my bike on the trail."
Actually, he was hoping to get some time with his comic books, but something told him to spend with his sport loving big sister. "Sure." Lincoln said.
When they were done, they took their bowls into the kitchen, then went out the back door and walked around the side of the house where Lynn's bike was chained up. Lynn unlocked her bike and her and hopped on with Lincoln holding on to his big sister as she rode them off. The day was warm and bright and the wind felt good against Lincoln's face. "Lucy's really cruisin' for a bruisin'," Lynn said over her shoulder.
"I get that you're mad, but I think you and Lucy should just talk things over." Lincoln said while holding on tight.
"How can I just talk to her Linc? She stubborn we all are. Ugh siblings suck." Lynn said.
Lincoln was gonna saying something, but it's true siblings did suck sometimes.
At the park, they rode around on the trails crisscrossing the forest and then broke to play a game of hoops. They were half way through when Johnny and Delilah walked up. "Hey, Love Bug." Delilah said. "What's up?"
"Hey, guys." Lincoln said. "You know just hanging with Lynn."
"I don't think you were the outside type Linc?" Johnny said and then smirked, "Your big sis rubbing off ya?"
Lynn laughed, "Yeah turning him into to a mini me." She pointed at a basketball court, "You guys wanna play some basketball?"
They formed two teams, Lynn and Johnny against Lincoln and Delilah. The first team to ten points won. Johnny and Lynn had played basketball at school together a thousand times and worked together like a well oiled machine. Lincoln was a little rusty and his game suffered for it, but once he loosened up, he improved. Lincoln and Delilah narrowly defeated Lynn and Johnny. "Not bad," Lynn complimented. "You're a lot better than Lucy."
A look of sadness flickered across her face but it was gone so quickly that Lincoln couldn't be sure that it had been there at all. "Anyway, you wanna hit Burpin' Burger?"
"We can't." Johnny said, "We gotta get home." Johnny said as he and Delilah left.
Ten minutes later, Lynn and Lincoln sat at a booth in the dining room of Burpin' Burger waiting for their food to be done.
Lynn sighed.
"Maybe I was too hard on Lucy." Lynn said. She stared out the window, a faraway look in her eyes. Lynn took a sip of her Pepsi, "I don't really like apologizing. It makes me feel…" she trailed off and shrugged one shoulder, not having the words.
"Like your showing weakness?" Lincoln supplied.
Humbling yourself isn't an easy thing to do; it made Lynn feel awkward and anxious. She suspected that most people kind of felt that way, but maybe it was only her. She could, sometimes, be kind of a weirdo. The major thing was that she didn't feel like he did anything wrong, so what did she have to apologize for?
Maybe she could talk to Lucy and they could hash this out, woman to woman.
Lincoln and Lynn ate their food and then went back home.
Soon, Lynn decided, she would talk to Lucy.
Though Lynn missed her sister, she had to admit, Lincoln was an awesome roommate. They wrestled, played ball, and did all sorts of cool roommate stuff. As days passed, however, Lynn gradually wilted like a flower. She was homesick for her own room and for Lucy. On Thursday evening, she and Lincoln were both lying in his bed, Lynn was thinking of Lucy. Lynn sat up, sighed, and said, "It's been real, Linc, but...I kinda wanna go back to my room."
"That means making up with Lucy." Lincoln pointed out.
She was quiet for a moment. "Yeah."
With that, she jumped off the bed, gathered up her things, and left. Lincoln watched her go then took a deep breath. If she could make up with Lucy, he lose his new roommate.
Getting up, Lincoln set out make a snack suddenly he heard yelling.
"What are you doing here?" Lucy asked.
Lynn was shocked, "What am I doing here?" She gets kicked out.
Lucy was trying to push Lynn away, "Get out!"
Lynn grew angry, "What do you mean "get out"? I'm just trying to apologize!"
Lucy was shocked, "You finally wanna apologize to me?"
"Yeah, I wanted to say I'm sorry and end this fight." Lynn said.
Lucy got angry, "Wait? Your just apologizing to end the fight? You're not here to apologize to me!"
Lynn realizes her wording now are going south from there as they are about to go at it yet again.
"You are absolutely crazy." Lucy said.
"What? Are you crazy? Absolutely not!" Lynn yelled.
"I don't understand why you think this is my fault!" Lucy yelled.
"I mean, really!" Lynn yelled.
"You are absolutely wrong." Lucy said.
"Just respect the space!" Lynn yelled.
The commotion grabs the attention of the other sisters.
Lori looked worried, "Yikes. I'd sure hate to get in the middle of that."
Lincoln realizing what he must do, "Yeah, but...sometimes, you have to." He goes in their room.
"It's just ridiculous." Lucy said.
"I'm not the one who started it! You're the one who started it!" Lynn yelled.
"Please." Lucy said.
"Don't even get me started!" Lynn yelled.
"HOLD IT!" Lincoln yelled. He gets their attention, "Guys, I don't understand why you two are fighting, but you need to make up."
The feuding roommates crossed their arms and looked away from each other.
"Why bother she won't listen?" Lucy said.
"Your one to talk." Lynn said.
"I realize even though it must be tough to have to share a space all the time, I know you miss each other. But you're just too stubborn to admit it." Lincoln said.
The two then see what he means.
Lucy looks at Lynn, "I guess I do have trouble sleeping without a ball banging against the wall."
Lynn looks at Lucy, "And I guess I do miss hearing you sigh heavily as you write your poems."
"See? Now can you two please make up?" Lincoln asked.
Lynn and Lucy looked towards each other. Then suddenly hugged, "I'm sorry." The two said.
Lori smiled, "Well shows over everyone off to bed."
The other sisters just sigh as they head off to bed; the fight is now over and the jock and goth are satisfied.
"So, I can move back in?" Lynn asked.
"Nothing would make me happier." Lucy said.
Lynn busts out a fist, "Two for flinching!" But Lucy didn't flinch, "Dang! It never works on you."
They hug again.
"I'm glad you made up. Lincoln looked a little sad, "Well good night guys." Lincoln started to head back to his room.
Lucy & Lynn notice their brother's mood shift, "Lincoln?"
Lincoln turned back.
Lynn gave Lucy a side hug, "Can we bunk with you?"
Lincoln's room
It's revealed that both Lynn AND Lucy are sleeping with Lincoln in his room tonight.
THE END
