The chirping of birds soon filled the quiet room as the golden rays of sunshine poured in through the open curtains. The dark room was illuminated with a yellow and white glow, making the white haired woman sleeping on the bed even more angelic than before. The man besides her was fully awake and couldn't seem to avert his eyes from the beauty who occupied not only his bed but his mind, heart and soul. How this all came to be was beyond him. He couldn't pin point the exact moment from which this all started. It felt to him like they belonged to one another from the very start, before they even knew of their feelings for each other.

The blonde haired man leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on his lover's forehead, not anything like he had done the night before. How he had showered her with kisses full of desire and passion, how she had moaned his name, how he himself had held her body like she would disappear right before his eyes.

He was still in his head, remembering what they did last night when a soft and gentle voice reached his ears, "Laxus."

His eyes snapped to hers and they softened as soon as he saw her smile, "Good morning, Mira."

Mirajane smiled at her lover and took his face in her hands. She soon planted her lips to his and gave him a soft kiss. When they broke apart, Laxus could see the overwhelming love she had for him in her eyes and couldn't help but kiss her again. This time it was nothing like the gentle kiss Mira had given him. It was a deep, passionate one which seemed to convey his feelings to her.

She soon wrapped her arms around his neck and deepened the kiss. Laxus' hand went under her shirt, technically it was his but that didn't matter right now, and slowly started to go up untill it cupped her breast and she moaned against his lips.

Laxus broke the kiss and started to kiss along her jaw then making his way to her neck, leaving small wet kisses.

But before they could go any further, the alarm clock on the bedside table went off and its screeching sound soon replaced that of moans. Laxus cursed under his breathe and Mira let out a small laugh at his frustrated face.

She looked at the time in the clock as Laxus slammed it shut. It was past 6 in the morning and her eyes went wide in realization. She immediately sat up and gasped.

"It's already this late!?" she exclaimed as she stood up and started to gather her things. Laxus stared at her as she took her cloths in a bundle and was now looking for her shoes.

There was an annoyed expression on his face as he didn't like this at all. It was like this every time she spent the night at his house. She would either be gone before he woke up or she would be hurrying off to her dorm when she'd realize how late it was. Their relationship was a secret and no one in the guild knew of them being together, not even her siblings or his team.

Although it was a mutual decision to keep it a secret, but now Laxus thought they should come clean before everyone. His feelings for Mirajane grew every passing second and he couldn't bear to part ways with her like this. Ofcourse they were going to see each other in the guild hall after a few hours but he atleast wanted to hold her more and have breakfast together in peace.

How long has it been since they had breakfast together? He couldn't remember. Did they even had one? He rocked his brain to find an answer but he couldn't. In their relationship of 7 months, they never once had breakfast together like a normal couple.

He dragged a hand through his hair and looked at Mira who was now fully dressed and was making her hair look presentable before going out. She hadn't showered which meant she was running super late. She needed to reach her dorm room before any of the girls noticed she was gone and didn't really sleep in her bed.

"Mira..." Laxus started and Mira looked at him with a smile, her hands halting their movements.

"Yes?"

He knew what he was going to say would somehow change their relationship but he still wanted to try. So he looked right into her eyes and uttered those words.

"Let's tell everyone about us."

The Fairy tail guild hall was as bustling as usual. The wizards of various ages and magic attributes were lounging in the main hall, some were occupying the bar stools at the bar where Mirajane was currently serving drinks as ordered.

She smiled as she passed the drinks, not missing the flirteous looks the men gave her. She turned her back to the shelves behind the counter where bottles of alcohol and liquor were neatly placed in rows. Her smile faltered and she let out a small sigh.

She was used to receiving these kinds of looks from men but sometimes it became a bit overwhelming. She put on a gentle smile and turned back to her customers and faced the crowded hall. She couldn't help but roam her eyes across the hall, everyone was seemed to be present at the moment.

She saw team Natsu sitting at their usual table, Lucy had a smoothie in her hand as she chatted with Levy, Erza was eating her strawberry cake with a delightful expression on her face, Gray was being forced to accept a gift from Juvia who was practically beeming at the Ice Mage with love and adoration.

Wendy was sitting by Lisana's side as the later braided the dragon slayer's blue hair. Carla, Panther Lily and Happy were posing for a painting and Gajeel was sitting at the far end of the bar, munching on some screws and iron utensils.

Natsu suddenly came to them and slumped down in his seat, mumbling about something. It must be because of the job requests that he found way too boring to take.

He slammed his fist onto the table, startling his friends and yelled while literally spewing fire, "Why Laxus had to take that 'forest monster' hunting job!? Man that was a perfect opportunity to test my new moves!"

"He didn't take that job, he was assigned to it by the Master. And if Master gave it to Laxus then it means it's a really tough and dangerous job so be glad we weren't the one assigned to complete it!"

Lucy yelled out to Natsu, with a tinge of relief as she glared at him. He merely pouted and turned his face the other way, clearly not in the mood to take on Lucy's wrath at the moment.

At the mention of her secret boyfriend's name, Mirajane's smiling face turned a bit sad. It had been 2 days already since Laxus took on that job request and left with his team.

It was actually a lie. There was no job request like forest monster hunting. It was all made up so Laxus wouldn't be embarrassed that he took a job at Mister Yajima's restaurant, wearing that waiter's outfit. Well technically, Master had ordered him to take that job.

Now that she thought about it... How would he look like in that waiter's outfit? She felt herself chuckle at the thought.

She missed him so much.

They didn't even finish their conversation because at that same day Master had given him the mission and he had to leave in a hurry.

She still could remember his face as he had asked to reveal their relationship to the public. She had gone completely still and she couldn't utter a word after that. He had only stared at her, waiting for her speak or to say anything but she didn't. His words had caught her off guard and she was not expecting it at all.

She could still remember the look in his eyes as he had averted his gaze when she couldn't answer him. She could see the hurt that flashed in his eyes for a moment but soon vanished. She herself didn't know why she couldn't say a word to him at that moment. Was she not ready for everyone to know about their relationship or what? She asked herself.

It was huge step ofcourse for both of them. For her, it seemed dating Laxus was the easy part and telling everyone about them was the hard part. It felt like a different kind of commitment.

She was committed to her relationship with Laxus, she liked him very much and she knew his feelings for her were real. She also knew of her own feelings, her feelings for him were more than she could ever imagine.

She fell in love with him.

Did Laxus also feel the same way? It must be the reason why he wanted to make their relationship public, right?

But what if she was wrong? What if Laxus was just tired of meeting in secret so he wanted to make things easier by letting everyone know?

What if when their relationship became public, people would start asking when they are going to get married and about their future plans?

What if Laxus wants to marry her? Was she even ready for that? For such a huge commitment.

What if...?

"...ira! Mirajane!"

She was startled by someone calling her name. She came out of her trance and looked at the one who had called her. It was Lucy. She was looking at her with a concerned look.

"Are you feeling well, Mirajane?" Lucy asked. "I have been calling you for a while now. Are you alright?"

Mira blinked at her to clear her head and focused her attention on her blonde friend. She felt Natsu, Wendy and Gajeel turn their heads in her direction, no doubt hearing Lucy's concerns.

Mira smiled at her, "I am fine and well, Lucy. Just tired that's all."

"You should take a break then."

She shook her head, "My shift is almost over. I'll be heading home so-"

She was cut short by a shout.

"Master!"

Everyone turned around to focus their attention at the source of that voice. A young guild member was heaving by the entrance door of the guild. He came running in and halted before the bar counter where Master Makarov was drinking his beer. Master looked at the man with half open eyes and just took another sip from his beer glass.

"Calm down and tell me what happened."

The young man caught his breath and finally looked up at Makarov, "He is back... Laxus. But..."

Laxus is back. He is back. Mira thought as her heart bloomed with delight and joy. But what she heard after that had her heart stopping dead in her chest.

"But he is badly injured. They are saying he's been poisoned."

Mirajane sat in a stool beside a hospital bed, looking at the unconscious Laxus. The room was mostly quiet, save for the breathing sounds coming from the other 3 occupants in the room. Freed, Bikslow and Evergreen were not critical but their condition was becoming worse by the minute.

She scanned his face, pale and gaunt. His lips had turned blue and there were black marks under his eyes.

His chest was rising and falling in ragid heaves. His lungs were full of the poisoned particles he had inhaled to save his team, Mr.Yajima and the whole town. Porlyusica had already examined him and had concluded there was nothing she could do to save them because the poison was something new, something otherworldly. Something she had never seen before.

However, after hearing the news about the Tartarus, she said she could make the antidote from the blood of the demon who had released such toxic particles in the air to kill everyone.

That had given her hope but only for a moment though. Making the antidote was not possible.

Her lips trembled and she clenched her fists in her lap. Her eyes burned and tears pooled in her eyes, falling freely down her cheeks. A sob escaped her mouth, her body shaking as she buried her face in her hands and cried.

There was no antidote because the demon had blown himself up. There was no body to recover. No blood to take.

He was going to die. He was dying right in front of her and there's nothing she could do to prevent it.

At that, more tears and sobs came out of her as she took his hand in hers. She kissed the back of his hand gently and calmed herself down.

She should have told him how she felt. She should have told him how much she loved him, how much he meant to her. She lifted her head and gazed at his face and leaned down.

"I love you, Laxus." She whispered as she brought her lips near his ear. "I love you so much."

She held back a sob as she took a trembling breath.

"Please come back to me."

Well that's it for now. But this has a part 2 as well. So stay tuned for more and enjoy.

PS: This is my first time writing about Mira and Laxus. In fact, it's my first Fairy Tail fanfiction. So please, don't mind my mistakes or incorrect information regarding the anime.
