Hello there!
Back for another PJO story!
I'm trying a different format, let's see how it goes.
Disclaimer: No, I do not own PJO, HOO, or any other amazing creations from Uncle Rick. I do, however, own a handful of characters that will appear in this story.
ON THE FIC!
Chapter I: Faye Ashcroft
-X-
"Sorry for the mess." Annabeth smiled as she led them through the hallways, "Most of the rooms will be unoccupied because of Christmas break, so it's fine to crash here."
"I'm sure we'll love it, Annabeth." Hazel smiled.
"Okay, so Percy and I are staying in the same dorm room, and Piper is going to stay with Jason, so her room is vacant. Percy's room will also be vacant, so that's two rooms. We need..."
"Three rooms." Hazel counted "Will told me he's coming over from his college."
"Do you know if Reyna is coming over for Christmas?" she asked.
"I checked, and her commander didn't let her. She's on duty." Jason appeared, running down the stairs in basketball shorts "Hey guys!"
"Geez, Jason, aren't you cold?" Hazel moved to hug him.
"Ah, Percy and I have been moving around, cleaning the door room."
"Good." Nico declared, letting his scarf fall apart.
"So, I apologize in advance if you heard loud music and shouts, not everyone went home, and we have some pretty rowdy colleagues." Piper grinned.
"Hey, Nico." Annabeth stepped closer to him, "Let us know if you need anything, okay? I don't want you to be addicted to your phone this Christmas."
"I'll let you know." he nodded.
They climbed up the stairs to the upper floors while going back and forth about the sleeping arrangements. They started hearing shouts, loud music, and louder voices singing that music. They arrived at the floor and noticed that most of the doors were open. There was a certain melody floating in the air. Pop-rock, if Nico wasn't mistaken.
His phone beeped. He pulled it out and smiled at the sight of a new text from Jedi Queen.
Jedi Queen: Bruh, totally sucks that I don't get to see you this Xmas.
King: Cant, spending the holls with friends.
King: Its cool, im spending them in their college, so we can all be together.
JQ: Broooooo, wish ud come here
K: Same, but cant. Wyd?
JQ: Playing some music, kicking this break the *rite* weh.
K: Play something in my memory then.
JQ: DEAL!
Nico looked up from his phone as Annabeth and Jason were assigning the rooms. He was crashing on the opposite one to Annabeth and Percy, which happened to be Jason's, but they didn't get very far in that decision, because a fight broke off at the end of the hallway.
"No, it's my turn, I'm picking, and I'm doing this for King!"
"Why though?!"
"Cuz King can't be here for the holls, so I'm playing a song in his memory!"
Nico's phone beeped. It was Jedi Queen again. Playing your favorite rn.
The speakers began to thrum with the bass and guitar chords of one of the songs Nico loved the most. Then, a group of four people was in the middle of the hallway, moving back and forth, and one of them held a deodorant as a microphone as she sang at the top of her lungs.
"This is for you, King!" she pointed at the sky, and Nico saw Annabeth facepalm with a smile.
Whoa oh oh oh oh, Mona Lisa
You're guaranteed to run this town
Whoa oh oh oh oh, Mona Lisa
I'd pay to see you frown
"Sorry about them." Annabeth grinned "They're good people, but they're... wild. Especially the one singing."
"Who's that?"
"Faye Ashcroft. Or, as everyone calls her, Ash." The blonde sighed "She's the best, one of my closest colleagues here."
Faye – Ash – kept going. And Nico smirked and stepped forward. And then, he began to sing.
Say what you mean
Tell me I'm right
And let the sun rain down on me
Give me a sign
I want to believe
"KING!" Faye dropped the deodorant and ran to him, trapping him in a tight hug "You asshole, I thought you weren't coming! What the fuck are you doing here?"
"Coming over to spend Christmas with my friends." he pointed behind his back at the group, gaping at the two.
"Oh, shit!" she exclaimed "Why didn't you tell me you were friends with Annabeth?!"
"I didn't know you knew her." he shrugged.
"The one person I was worried about not having a good time just found a friend." Annabeth smiled "Nico! How do you know Faye?"
"We met up a couple of years ago in Egypt, after the whole fiasco with the turtleneck. We became friends, we exchanged numbers, and we didn't stop talking since!" Faye smiled "Chase, it's awesome!"
"Why 'King'?" Hazel frowned.
"'Cuz he's the Ghost King." Faye rolled her eyes "Come on, seriously? Chase, speaking of, we need to arrange that whole situation with Professor Pinke, so meet you at the workshop at 5?"
"Will you be available then, or will your tongue be down a certain guy's throat that you refuse to introduce me to?"
"He's not even here, you dick, he's only arriving at the end of the week. And I'll be there." she rolled her eyes "King, come on, let me introduce you to my friends."
·
"So, Annabeth..." Frank started "How do you know Faye? You two seem awfully close."
"We are." Annabeth let her eyes fall on the young woman, currently wreaking havoc in the cafeteria. "We met at the beginning of the semester. In Professor Pinke's class. She came to me and asked me if I wanted to kick ass and wreak the competition. I said 'obviously', and we're been friends since."
"She's... very pretty," Hazel noted.
Faye walked to them carrying a tray with a steaming bowl of pasta. She sat down next to Annabeth and smiled. "Heya. Sorry about that, Reily needed a trashing."
"When is it going down?" Annabeth popped a piece of bread in her mouth.
"This evening. Chase, can I borrow an old shirt?"
"Are you gonna destroy it?"
"That's the plan."
"I'll let you choose from them."
Faye let out a laugh and Hazel watched her carefully. She wasn't lying when she had said the tanned young woman was pretty. She was beautiful, with her small oval face and her large electric blue eyes, framed by heavy lashes and thick dark eyebrows. Her full lips matched her small nose, but what shocked Hazel the most was the long wavy hair that reached the middle of her back, in a striking platinum color.
"So, when are you introducing me to your boyfriend?" the daughter of Athena asked.
"I'd say never, but he's coming over this Christmas, so there might be a chance for you to meet him." she smirked "That is, if I don't spend the whole time plotting on how to avoid being in the same place as you and him."
"Please don't." Percy groaned "Enough is enough, the last two months were a nightmare. My head still hurts."
"What happened?" Nico frowned.
"Remember the battle of wits I told you about?" Faye asked. Nico nodded, and she continued "That was between me and Annabeth."
"Basically, we got in our heads for some reason that we could outsmart the other, so it was two months of pure and unaltered scheming." Annabeth explained, "It was awesome."
"For you, maybe!" Piper complained, "I swear I could have gone crazy."
"So, are you all here? Chase, is this the entire group?"
"No, we have another one coming in, but he told me he would only arrive... Thursday. His classes only end Wednesday, so he's staying the night at his dorm and coming over the next day."
"Awesome, where is he crashing?"
"I'm not sure yet, but we'll figure something out."
"Okay, so Hazel is staying with you and Percy, Frank is staying with Jason and Piper, Nico is crashing with me, I have a spare bedroom that Nico's boy can use... Will, right?"
"Yes."
"And... we'll figure something out about your friend." she grinned "This is going to be awesome."
