Kanto, Pewter City, Pewter Gym
Naruto and the girls enter the gym and meet on a rocky battlefield with jagged rocks and large boulders.
"Who goes there?" A man's voice called out as a spotlight shone down on a chair made of rocks.
The man looked to be in his early twenties. He had spiky brown hair and tan skin. He wore a dark badge shirt, grey cargo pants, and brown shoes.
"I'm Naruto Namikaze Uzumaki, and I'm here to challenge the Pewter City," He said as the man stood up from his chair and walked forward, as did Naruto.
"Here are the rules: I'm not allowed to substitute Pokémon while you are. Once both of my Pokémon are knocked out, you win. If I knock out all of your Pokémon, then you lose. Do you understand?" the man said as the blond ninja nodded. "Good, my name is Brock, and here we go. Geodude is your first," Brock called out as he sent out his first Pokémon.
Geodude is a brownish-grey boulder Pokémon with bulging, rocky eyebrows, trapezoidal eyes with brown pupils, and a wide mouth. Its arms are muscular, and it has five-fingered hands.
Naruto lifted his dex and scanned it, "Dex Entry 75, Geodude, the Rock Pokémon; The longer a Geodude lives, the more its edges are chipped and worn away, making it more rounded in appearance. However, this Pokémon's heart will remain hard, craggy, and rough always." The dex told him.
"I see then, Demeter, let's start this off," Naruto called out as he sent out his Bulbasaur.
"So I'm facing your starter boy?" Geodude asked as he looked at Demeter.
"Wrong rock for brains; I have just been caught," Demeter told him, and the Geodude looked shocked.
Naruto just smiled. "Demeter, use Vine Whip," Naruto called out as Brock ordered his Geodude to move out of the way.

"N-N-Nartuo picked a-a goo-good start," Hinata said as she watched Geodude move around the vines.
Sakura watched and made notes of how Naruto ordered his Bulbasaur. "Your right, Gerodude is a Rock and Ground type. That means that Demeter's attacks are twice as strong," Sakura said as Geodude's hands glowed light blue. They started to spin around fast, with a light blue ring surrounding them. They spun into Demeter.
Battlefield
Naruto looked down and saw that Demeter was using her vines to hold back Geodude while the Rock Pokémon was yelling out, 'ora ora ora ora' over and over.
"Demeter, use your vines to jump over him, then use Petal Dance," the blond called out. She did that and got airborne before she sent out a cyclone of pink petals that engulfed Geodude.
"Shitting grass types, and their shitting power advantage," Geodude cursed.
"Geodude, use Gyro Ball to get out," Brock called out but then saw Naruto smile.
"Demeter takes hold of Geodude's arm with Vine Whip and throw him into the air," He called out as his Seed Pokémon nodded at him and sent out her vines that wrapped around.
Brock blinked as he looked at Naruto. He saw a ghostly image of a boy younger than him in blue jeans and a blue jacket over Naruto.
"He is just like Ash?" Brock asked with a small smile as Demeter sent Geodude into the air.
"What am I doing up here?" Geodude asked as he looked around in the air.
"Now bring his down to earth with your Vine Whip," Naruto called out as Demeter sent out her vines again. And they wrapped around Geodude's arm, and he slammed into the ground, followed by a massive dust cloud.
After a while, once the dust had been blown away, it revealed Geodude in the ground with swirls for eyes.
"Geodude is unable to battle; the winner is Demeter. Gym Leader, call out your next Pokémon," a ref said from the other side of the battlefield.
"Good job, Geodude," Brock said as he called back Geodude, and Naruto called back Demeter. Hey, do you know someone by the name of Ash Ketchum?" he asked Naruto.
"No," The blond said with a confused look.
"Oh, it's no trouble, it's just that those ideas with the Vine Whip are something that he would do," Brock told Naruto, who nodded at him.
"Alright," Naruto said as he got ready.
"Come on out, Onix/Amaterasu," they both called out as they called out their Pokémon.
Onix is a Pokémon composed of a giant chain of grey boulders that become smaller towards the tail. It has black eyes and a rounded snout. On top of its head is a rocky spine.
"Dex Entry 95, Onix, the Rock Snake Pokémon; There is a magnet in its brain that prevents an Onix from losing direction while tunneling. As it grows older, its body becomes steadily rounder and smoother." The dex told Naruto after the blond scanned it.
"Onix was my starter, and he and I have been through thick and thin together," Brock said as Naruto smiled as both Naruto and Amaterasu's eyes slit at that.
"Then this will be fun, Amaterasu, use Dragon Tail," Naruto called out as cyan scales formed over Amaterasu's tail as she ran forward.
"Meet it with Iron Tail," Brock called out. Onix's tail flashed and looked like steel, and he swung it at Amaterasu, who jumped and met the tail.

The girls watched in amazement as Amaterasu and Onix fought with their tails, "I have to say that girl has some spunk to her," Tenten said as Amaterasu fought Onix back.
"Y-y-your r-r-right," Hinata said as she looked at both of them fighting, "A-a-after working w-with Kiba fo-for a few mo-months I ca-can t-tell th-that Naruto-kun i-is working we-well with Amaterasu," Hinata said as she watched the fight before she looked over at Onix and saw how his rocks shined in the light.
"I wonder how they do that?" She thought as she looked at Sakura, who was reading about Pokémon care and how she could help Amaterasu.
"Amaterasu break off and use Dragon Dance before using Dragon Rush," Naruto called out as Amaterasu jumped away from Onix and started to spin in the air and gained a purplish glow before her body was covered by a blue, dragon-shaped aura that covered her body. She ran forward at full speed and slammed into her opponent.
Battlefield
"Dame you, that was a good hit," Onix told Amaterasu, who smiled at him.
"I have to work hard for my master, and so I have to take you down," she told Onix, who smiled at her.
"Then young Charmander, show me what you can do," Onix called out as Brock called out him to Rock Tomb.
Onix then becomes outlined in white energy and raises its head with a shout. Multiple grey rocks outlined in white energy form around his head, shaped like a ring. The glow around Onix then fades, causing the rocks to fall on the Amaterasu.
Naruto looked at the rocks before he smiled. "Amaterasu, use Dragon Rush and Dragon Tail while climbing the rocks, before using Flear Blizt with both of them and hitting him," he called out.
And so Amaterasu was outlined in blue and cyan, and she rushed up the rocks as they fell around her.
Amaterasu then created white sparkles in a ring above her head, which turned into rocks with white outlines along the creases. She then let out a roar as Amaterasu shot the rocks at Onix.
"Thanks to the training from Gym Leader Brock's Onix, Amaterasu has now learned how to use Rock Slide," the artificial voice of Artemis sounded from Naruto's dex.
"Nice work, Onix," Brock said as he heard Naruto's dex appear above the flying rocks before her body became surrounded by red-orange fire. It shot at the opponent like a missile with the dragon aura, making it look like a flaming dragon honing in on its target.
She then rammed into Onix, who started to fall back but stayed tall.
But that was when Amaterasu spun around and slammed her tail down on Onix's head, making them fall.
When he fell, he smiled at Amaterasu. "You did well, both of you," he told the two before his eyes closed, and Brock called him back.
"Gym Leader Brock has lost this battle; the winner is the challenger Naruto," the ref called out as Brock walked over to Naruto.
"That was a good battle, and so as a way to say that you've got to the first stop in qualifying for the Indigo League, here is the Boulder Badge," Brock said as he handed the blond shinobi a badge that looked like a grey rock. "And here, for defeating me, is something that can help you in the future," he said as he handed over four disks to Naruto.
"Are these," the blond asked as he looked at the disks.
"Yes, these are TMs; the moves are Bide, Rock Tomb, Rock Slide, and Headbut," Brock told Naruto, who nodded, "Use them well," He said the boy as Naruto nodded and walked over to the girls and the group of seven made their way to the Pokémon centre for the night.
