F3: Welcome to chapter 5 of Volume 6 of my RWBY story. We last left off with the group learning that Atlas has a warrant for Blake's arrest while Ruby and company are taking in everything they learned from Jinn. Things could only go up from here right. With that said Let's Dive In.
Volume 6-5: Arrested!
Night has finally fell on Adams home as everyone was asleep as Neo, Velvet, and Ruby shared a room together as Oscar and Cardin took another room. Raven opted to have a room to herself while Weiss and Adam shared a room together which they were both getting used to each other's company as Weiss was snuggled herself to Adam's side.
Everyone was sleeping ever so peacefully but then a loud inhuman-like sound shrieked through the night piercing any form of peace as the sound was enough to wake Ruby from her slumber which in turn woke up Velvet and Neo as they stirred from their sleep.
"Ruby? Got back to sleep." Velvet said sleepily even Neo seemed to agree.
"I don't know… it's just I heard something." Ruby said as she reached for her weapon. Just then she heard the sound again but this time the others heard it too.
"Okay what in Remnant was that?" Velvet asked as Neo shrugged, not sure what it was.
"Velvet, Neo you two go wake everyone up. I'll see what we're dealing with. If it's grimm I'll whistle." Ruby said as she grabbed her weapon and headed toward the rooftop.
Velvet went next door to knock on Oscar and Cardin's room as she opened it seeing Cardin groaning as he woke up.
"Velvet? What the heck girl? It's like three in the morning." Cardin said letting out a yawn.
"Sorry but Ruby heard something outside and she's checking it out." Velvet said.
"So, it could very well be nothing." Oscar said but just then Velvet heard a loud whistle coming from the rooftop.
"Crap… grimm." Velvet said, which immediately got their attention as Cardin got up and got his armor on.
Neo managed to get the rest of them up as Ruby came back inside from the rooftop.
"It's a grimm I haven't seen before. Some kind of huge horse like thing with a grimm riding on top of it." Ruby said.
Raven however, growled at this well-knowing just what the grimm was she mentioned.
"This is going to be troubling. It's a Nuckelavee. Normally there should've been only one that I know about but it appears that there was a second one." Raven said.
"A Nuckelavee? Is it that dangerous?" Cardin asked.
"It took only one of them to destroy Kuroyuri. This one is no different." Raven said as she grabbed Omen.
Weiss and Adam walked out with their weapons too "So, how do we stop it?" Weiss asked.
"A grimm like that won't go down that easily. It's separated into halves. The top half controls the horse while bottom half provides strength to the rider. They are fused together but we can't attack them one at time we have to hit them both at the same time." Raven said.
"Both at the same time! How can we do that?!" Velvet asked.
"We use the area around us to our advantage. Ruby, Velvet you two are going to be our long range. Find a spot to perch and hit it from afar. Velvet, I know your camera can project images of our weapons so use one that'll help." She started as they nodded.
"Cardin, Adam, Oscar I need the three of you to flank it from the right. I, Weiss, and Neo will take the left. Once that's done no doubt that killing it will attract more grimm to our location so we'll have to get out fast." Raven said.
"There's an old truck in the garage that'll fit everyone. We can use that to get away." Adam added.
"Alright. Let's get this done before this gets worse." Raven said as everyone took their positions as Ruby and Velvet took their positions in the trees as Velvet summon a version of Mays weapon as they pointed in the direction Ruby said.
Adam, Cardin and Oscar hid behind other trees to make sure they weren't spotted with Neo, Weiss, and Raven taking a different position.
Ruby viewed through her scope trying to point out where the grimm is and luckily, she didn't have to wait long as through the tree line she saw coming towards them. It was a large horse like grimm but it have merged with another grimm as it has large horns on its head with its face looking like a skull. It has long arm's that reached the ground with clawed fingers. The horse grimm resembled that of a horse but it has bone-like armor all along its body down the hooves.
It stopped for a moment as the horse smelled the air and before long let out a snort releasing black mist from its snout. Then the imp on top let out a loud shriek that seemed to echo throughout the area.
"It must've smelled us out. Get ready." Raven called out as they were ready to attack.
The Nuckelavee smelled its victims and twisted its body swinging its body around using its arms to cut down the trees around it.
"Now!" Ruby shouted as her and Velvet began firing at the grimms upper body while everyone else went for the lower body. The Nuckelavee shrieked as thrusted its arm out to attack those approaching it. Raven slashed at the arm to block it which gave Weiss and Neo an opening to attack the lower the body as Weiss slashed at a front hoof and Neo striking a back hoof but their attacks didn't sever the legs but it did make the horse whine in response as it responded by rearing up to try and stomp at the two.
Cardin and Oscar charged from the other side but the Nuckelavee wasn't fooled as it stretched out its arm swiping at the two knocking them back as Adam slashed at the arm making the grimm shriek from getting attacked.
Not taken to kindly to the amount of prey ganging up on it he Nuckelavee twisted it's back like it was coiling up for something. Ruby saw what the grimm was doing and immediately warned everyone.
"Watch out!" Ruby shouted but it was too late the grimms upper body spun like a top its claws slashing at them knocking them all away landing hard the grimm letting out a shriek to the sky.
Ruby needed an idea of how to beat this thing and quick or they'll end up getting killed. She could try using her silver eyes but the last time she used them she was unconscious for a few days and she didn't want to risk getting angry. Then she recalled something when they arrived at the house that Adam had a stable that kept horses and where there's horses there's rope.
"Velvet, can you keep it busy for a minute? I've got an idea." Ruby said as Velvet nodded.
"What's the plan Ruby?" Velvet asked.
"Be right back." Ruby said and using her semblance she took off in a flurry of roses toward the barn as Velvet changed weapons to a higher caliber weapon and fired at the grimm hitting her mark so she could get its attention away from the others.
"That's right come here big fella." Velvet said firing at the grimm again hitting her mark but it wasn't really affecting the grimm that much but only to get it agitated as it started making its way toward Velvet.
"There we go." Velvet said but it also gave the others time to regroup and come up with a different strategy.
"Where'd Ruby run off to?" Weiss asked, noticing the lack of her leader.
"She must have a plan or something. For now, we keep it busy till she gets back." Raven said channeling her maiden powers into her weapon as it glowed a deep blue color.
"Weiss, Adam with me, the rest of you try and find a weak point." Raven ordered as Adam and Weiss joined her side as the others went to flank it on the right.
Thankfully it didn't take Ruby long as she came back but this time, she was carrying around some thick rope with her.
"What do you plan on doing with that?" Velvet asked.
Ruby smirked "We're going to tie it down." She added. Velvet didn't know what she meant but then she pointed out the hooves on the grimm which were perfect for tying the grimm down.
"Right… restrict it's movement and then we can finish it off." Velvet said seeing what Ruby was planning.
"Aunty!" Ruby shouted out to Raven getting her attention.
"Rosebird!" Ruby called out again in which Raven understood what she meant as she cut their air making a portal near Ruby and herself. Channeling her semblance, she rushed through the portal before coming out the one by Raven speeding toward the grimm with her rope as the others kept it busy. In a series of portals created by Raven, Ruby sped through each one and each time she done this Ruby managed to tie a piece of rope around the grimms hooves. Then going through one last portal Ruby stopped in front of Raven and gave big pulled.
Unknown to the grimm its hooves having been tied it lost its footing and tripped over itself before collapsing to the ground struggling to break free.
"Now!" Ruby shouted as Raven and Adam delivered the killing blow aiming just under the jaw stabbing their swords through it killing the grimm instantly as it fell before evaporating into nothing the rope going slack without the weight.
"An excellent strategy Ruby. Nicely done." Raven said ruffling her niece's head.
"Well now that is done." Weiss paused before letting out a yawn.
"I think a few hours' sleep would do all of us some good. Wouldn't you agree." Weiss said.
"Yes. It's still night so we better get some sleep. We don't need any more surprises. Then in the morning we make our way to Argus. I'm not too comfortable using my semblance especially if Yang or Summer are still sleeping." Raven added as they all returned to the house to get some sleep.

Morning finally came to Argus as the group that was in the hotel came out as Summer, Yang, Star, Pepper, Nora and May decided to go and make sure that nothing happened overnight.
"You think they got to Blake?" Pepper asked clearly worried for Blake.
"Relax Pepper. Besides this is Blake we're talking about she's not going to let some guards capture her so easily." Yang reassured.
"Still, this is Atlas military we're dealing with. They might not be the brightest but they are tenacious so they won't give up so easily." Star added as the group went to Jaune's house as that was where Blake was staying at. However, on their way to Jaune's they noticed Atlas soldiers going down the block knocking on doors to see if any person had seen Blake.
"That's not good." Yang said.
"They're doing a door-to-door search. Probably to see if anyone is lying about her or if they've seen her. Yang called ahead and warn him that Atlas soldiers are in the area looking for her and that she needs to keep a low profile. Cordovin is with them too." Summer added as Yang brought out her scroll and called Jaune while Pepper decided to call to keep her up to date as they decided to head straight to Jaunes house.
However, Cordovin saw this at the corner of her eye and she smirked well knowing that those kids might just lead her to who she was looking for as she gestured to her guards to follow just behind them.
They would shortly arrive at Jaunes house as Jaune opened the door for the five of them letting them enter the home.
"You think they saw us." May replied.
"I don't know if they saw us or not but even then, we have to be careful." Summer said.
"What's going on here?" Saphron asked not even sure what was happening.
"We saw Cordovin and she's going door to door trying to find Blake and she's not going to stop until she finds her." Summer added.
"So, what can I do?" Blake asked feeling uncertain of their situation.
"I'm trying to think. Give me a moment." Summer replied as Nora looked out the window seeing Atlas soldiers and Cordovin walking toward the house.
"Um… they're almost here. You have a plan?" Nora asked.
However, this time Saphron had an idea that might just work "There's a closet attic she can hide until the soldiers are gone. C'mon I'll show you." Saphron said as she handed Adrian off to Summer to hold onto as she led Blake to the back of the house.
Not even a few seconds later they heard a knock at the door as Jaune went over to answer it but then looked over to the others.
"Just… be cool okay." Jaune whispered as he then opened the door seeing Cordovin and her soldiers at the door.
"Can I help you ma'am?" Jaune asked.
"That's Commander boy. We're doing a sweep for a terrorist that is lurking in our city. And I plan to capture this criminal. You wouldn't happen to see this person would you." Cordovin said handing them a picture of Blake.
"Can't say we have commander? Haven't see her." Jaune replied. However, Cordovin wasn't at all convinced.
"And what about all of you? Have you seen this girl before?" Cordovin asked the others.
"Nope. Haven't seen her." Yang said as the others shook their heads.
Cordovin looked at them carefully before she spoke again "You know… aiding and abetting a criminal is a crime and anyone that does will also be arrested for this." Cordovin said trying to get them rattled.
"I can assure you commander no one here is aiding and abetting. I am after all a licensed huntress." Summer replied.
"Very well. Report her to the police immediately." Cordovin said as she instructed her guards to leave as she left right behind them closing the door.
Everyone let out a collective sigh catching their breaths "That was a close call." Summer replied.
A moment later Saphron came out with Blake following her.
"Are they gone?" Saphron questioned.
"Yeah… they're gone. Though I don't think we should stay long we have to get out of here. We should head to Sienna's and meet up with Iona so that we aren't spotted." Star said.
"I'm pretty sure we had her fooled. She's not coming back anytime soon." Nora replied.
"She a commander of the Atlas for nothing so it's best that we don't just assume that she'll stay away. For now, it's best that Blake lays low for a while until this problem is resolved." Summer replied.
"Agreed that's the last thing I need is…" Blake started but then something shattered through the window and pierced Blakes skin.
"Ow!" Blake shouted in pain.
"Blake you, okay?" Yang asked.
"Yeah I'm… just…" Blake started but her legs gave out on her as she fell to her knees before falling forward luckily Yang was there to catch her.
"Hey! Blake what's going on!?" Yang shouted trying to shake her awake but then she saw a dart in the middle of her back which must've been the cause for her blacking out.
Just then a group of soldiers barged in and pointed their weapons at the group as Saphron held her baby tightly.
"What is the meaning of this?! Get out of my house!" Saphron shouted.
"Be quiet you! As for the rest of you, you are all under arrest for aiding and abetting a known terrorist. Guards arrest them." Cordovin ordered with a snap of her fingers.
"Oh yeah just try it pal!" Yang shouted like she was ready for a fight.
"No Yang. We don't want to cause a fight. Especially not here. They've won this battle for now." Summer replied as everyone but Saphron were handcuffed and escorted out of Saphron's house.
"Oh… now what?" Saphron asked herself not sure what to do but then she saw Yangs scroll that she had left behind. Saphron picked up her scroll as maybe someone she could be able to contact someone that could help her in the situation.
She notice a name under a contact that was obvious when it read 'Mom' on it and so she pressed the call button and hoped for the best.

Hour's prior the sun just rose on Adams home as everyone was up and about as they were gathering what small supplies they had and loaded up in the truck.
"Alright if anyone needs to use the bathroom now would be the time to do it." Adam replied.
"I'm good." Ruby said.
"Anyone else?" Adam asked as they all shook their heads.
"Okay. Everyone load up." He added.
"Dibs on shotgun!" Weiss called out and immediately headed toward the passenger side of the truck and got inside.
Everyone piled on in the back as Adam took the driver's seat. He turned on the ignition as the truck roared to life and while putting the truck in drive, he pressed on the accelerator allowing the truck to drive forward. And with that they were on their way to Argus.
Ruby pulled out her scroll and Penny appeared on screen.
"Hey, Penny how long will it be till we get to Argus?" Ruby asked.
"At our current speed we'll arrive in approximately three hours." Penny stated.
"Three hours? That's a long ride." Ruby said.
"Then it's a good thing we've packed snacks for the long ride." Oscar replied bringing out a small bag of cookies which made Ruby smile happily.
"Thank you!" She cheered.
"Hey, don't forget us here." Velvet added as Neo silently giggled.
"There's plenty for everyone." Oscar said as the kids got to chatting about different things now as Raven watched them but she mainly was watching Oscar as she wondered if Ozpin was going to show up again.
About two hours into their drive, they were passed the halfway mark the tires shredding through the snow below them as Ruby was showing Velvet a new app game she had downloaded and letting Velvet have a try at it and she was getting used to it.
Neo, Oscar and Cardin were talking with each other about other subjects but mostly Cardin was rather curious about Neo and the burn scar on her neck.
"So, you mean you and Rina got rescued from a burning building which was Roman. Then you found out that you can't talk anymore because your larynx was burned." Cardin said as Neo only nodded.
"Wow… couldn't image how you must've felt." Cardin added.
"I want to find that bitch Euryale and get some payback." Neo signed.
"Can't say I blame you for that." Cardin said.
Just then a noise was heard throughout the camper as they all tried to figure out where it was coming from. Then Raven pulled out her scroll as it read Yang on it.
"Huh? Are we in range?" Raven questioned.
Penny suddenly ping as she spoke.
"Correct. Given our distance we are within range of the Cross Continental Tower." Penny replied.
"Good. She's probably worried about us." Raven replied as she answered her scroll.
"Hey Yang. Sorry if I couldn't get a hold of you. We were out of range but we're all okay." Raven replied.
"Um… this isn't Yang I'm afraid." A female voice said through the scroll.
Raven's eyes widen before narrowing into a scowl "Who is this? Identify yourself now!" Raven shouted, getting everyone's attention.
"My name is Saphron Arc. Is this Yang's mother I'm speaking to?" Saphron asked.
"Yes. Raven Branwen Xiao Long. Tell me why you have Yang's scroll?" Raven questioned.
"Um… because she's been arrested along with a few others." Saphron said meekly.
There was a deathly pause from Raven as Ruby could tell that something wasn't right but also that Raven wasn't happy.
"What do you mean that Yang has been arrested!?" Raven suddenly shouted.
"I'm sorry! But that's what happen. Please don't be angry with me! From what they told me that they had a warrant for Blake Belladonna and arrested her and everyone else for aiding and abetting. That's all I know." Saphron said.
Raven took a deep breath before she spoke again.
"Alright. Was their anyone else that was with Yang?" Raven asked.
"Um… there was Jaune, Summer, Blake, Pepper, Star, May and Nora." Saphron replied.
"That's mean Iona is still there. Listen Saphron is there somewhere we can meet you. We need to talk." Raven stated.
"There's a café in Argus where we can chat. Is it just you?" Saphron asked.
"No. There's me and six others." Raven stated.
"Okay. We can meet there." Saphron said before hanging up.
Raven knocked on the window to the driver's side before sliding it open.
"Adam. Think you can step on it. We've got an issue in Argus about the others so we need to get there quickly." Raven said.
"What's going on? Something happen?" Adam asked, still focused on the road.
"I'll explain everything on the way." Raven said as Adam put the truck into a different gear and pressed on the accelerator to drive faster.
"At our current speed we'll be in Argus within thirty minutes." Penny stated as the group sped toward Argus.

Just like Penny predicted, they arrived in Argus thirty minutes to the tick as Adam slowed the vehicle as they entered the city. Adam found a spot to park the vehicle before turning it off for the time being as everyone exited the vehicle.
"Alright so who are we looking for Saphron Arc. She's the one that called me on Yang's scroll. She said there's a café here." Raven said.
"There is. It's near the hotel. We know where it is." Weiss replied.
"Alright you two lead the way. See if we can get a hold of Iona. She's going to want to hear this too." Raven said as the group headed toward the café while Ruby got in touch with Iona to meet them there.
Another ten minutes of walking the group eventually came to a café near the hotel and noticed the blonde woman carrying an infant with her as she was sitting down waiting anxiously along with seeing Iona there too looking just as worried.
Raven was the first to speak to her "Saphron Arc?" She asked, getting her attention, which she then relaxed.
"Oh good. You must be Raven. Thank goodness you got here a quick as you did." Saphron said before seeing the others.
"Is this everyone?" She asked.
"Yeah, this is everyone." Raven added.
"So, what exactly is going on? I got a text from Ruby saying to meet you all here. Not only that I've been trying to get a hold of Star and Pepper for a while now and they aren't answering." Iona said.
"You might want to sit down Iona. This'll be a lot to take in." Raven said as Iona sat down.
Saphron then went into detail of what had happened in the few hours that elapsed and it was good. By the time she'd finished Ruby wasn't happy at what happened to her girlfriend.
"They can't arrest her for that! She's not a terrorist!" Ruby shouted angrily.
"Yeah, arresting the others too. Sounds to me that someone is throwing too much power around." Weiss added.
"I must agree. This is clearly an abuse of power to get whatever she wants." Cardin said.
"She's a commander in the military surely there is someone above her that can override her." Adam stated.
"The only person that can override a commander is anything higher than her. Hate to say but not even Weiss's name would get us nowhere." Raven added.
"So… what do we do then?" Velvet asked even Neo was curious of what they could do.
However, Weiss remembered someone that might just help them in the predicament.
"Winter… she owns a law firm here in Argus. Maybe we can talk to her and tell her what's going on. She'll be able to help us." Weiss said.
"You sure she can help us?" Iona asked.
"Definitely. I know where it is. We can go talk to her right now if we want." Weiss replied.
"Sounds like a plan." Cardin added as everyone nodded in agreement.
"I'll go ahead and return home. It's about Adrians nap time." Saphron said gesturing to the infant as he let out a cute yawn.
Raven couldn't help but chuckle "He reminds me of Yang when she was that little. She would fuss with me trying to put her down for a nap but a little lullaby and she's out like a light." Raven replied.
"I'm sure but do be careful." Saphron said as the group walked off however Cardin had a different idea.
"Hey guys. I was thinking of visiting my mother. She's probably worried about me since Beacon. Is that alright with you?" Cardin asked.
"Oh right. Isn't your mother like the governor or something?" Ruby asked as he nodded.
"Yep. She stays in the upper levels of the city. Not a bad place either." Cardin said.
"Plus, maybe she can help us out." He added.
Raven hummed at this and if she was right his mother could help them settle a few misunderstandings.
"Alright. Part of us will go with Cardin and the rest will follow Weiss to speak with Winter." Raven added.
"I'll go. I still don't know the city very well so it'll be good to check it out." Oscar said.
"I'll go too. It's honestly my first time in a big city that isn't Vale so it'll be a good experience for me too." Ruby added as she volunteered.
Neo raised her hand opted to volunteer.
"Okay the rest of us will head to Winters. I'll text you the address when we get there." Weiss said as the rest followed Weiss and while the others headed off in a different direction toward Cardin's mom.
However, hiding in the shadows just barely showing herself was Ilia as she scowled at seeing them but then again, she could use this to her advantage as she disappeared into the shadows.
