Hi there! For now, I've been writing this. The first few chapters will be condensed as I work to move the plot in the direction I desire. I had a few ideas, but they are for the long future, and I didn't want to make such a drastic change from one and a half to eleven years old. No, we'll begin when Saturo Nara, or Harry Potter, turns seven years old. Eight years old is Shikamaru Nara. While perusing the details of the Shinobi Academy on Naruto's wiki, I noticed that there was no indication of the minimum age required for admission. If you come across any, kindly inform me.
Additionally, I found a few misspellings in the previous chapter. You should not fear; these issues will be resolved in due course. In the future, I may include additional elements to further enhance the magic of any earlier effort and bring the story to life. When that occurs, I will inform you, the readers. You won't miss it, so don't worry. After reading through the majority of the available material on Shinobi Academy, I also felt it would be beneficial to include a few background details in the text. These are details you will need to determine for yourself, but they will become more significant over time.
By the way, feel free to suggest any plot points you would like to see in this story. Which individuals, in your opinion, ought to I include in Saturo's life, and why? After graduating from the academy, is there a specific early missions you would like Saturo to undertake? Send them on, and I might incorporate them into the narrative in some way.
Nestled amidst an expansive forest is the charming village of Konohagakure. Because of the strong wall separating it from the outside world, not many people are aware of its location. Few people outside of it knew where it was. However, if you were a member of the Five Great Shinobi Countries, you would be aware that Konohagakure was among the largest and most powerful villages in existence.
Konohagakure's routes extended far and wide; traders brought commodities from all over the Shinobi kingdoms via these numerous commercial routes. Some even came from the Hidden Village in the Sand, Sunagakure, a powerfully linked village. Both settlements have flourished over the twelve years of alliance, which was maintained by a truce; none of them has gained more than the other. Konohagakure would convey products from their village in return for Sunagakure's goods. After the conflict between the two communities came to a halt, there was a mutual agreement. Additionally, life within Konohagakure began to emerge as the birds began to stir and make their first morning sounds.
Shinobis were observed going about their daily lives early in the morning, rising first to receive a fresh task from their boss, the Hokage, and beginning each day as usual. It was seen that Cillvians were getting ready for a hectic workday by opening their stores. Youngsters were observed leaving their houses to go to the regular school for kids or the Shinobi Academy. Although today would seem like a typical day to the residents of Konohagakure, an outsider visiting the village would be astounded by how crowded the streets actually were.
But there was one home where the oldest child took a little longer to wake up than the others. If Shikamaru Nara's mother had anything to say about it, he wouldn't be sleeping in for long. "Nara Shikamaru!" The first warning came from one Sarada Nara, lady of the Nara Clan. "Get up from bed; I have woken you up five times already, and if you are not in the kitchen within 10 minutes, you will be going to the Shinobi Academy on an empty stomach," she said.
Sarada watched her other son, Saturo Nara, enjoy his breakfast in solitude while she busied herself in the kitchen, packing two lunch boxes full of food. Saturo would be attending the Shinobi Academy for the first time at the age of seven. Despite being adopted, Saturo did not behave like an adopted child; he was still a member of the family even though they were not blood relatives.
"Don't worry, son, you will catch up with Shikamaru's class easily," Sarada comforted Saturo, who only smiled subtly at his mother.
At that moment, Shikamaru came staggering into the kitchen and sat down gently on the seat by the table.
Saturo looked at the time, then back at Shikamaru, his senior by one year. "Cutting it close there, Shikamaru," Saturo smirked and mocked.
Shikamaru sighed a great yawn and muttered, "Shut up," trying to become awake.
Sarada came over and began brushing Shikamaru's hair, forcing it up into a ponytail that made Shikamaru wince because it was done in a hurry. "No lazing around Shikamaru," she said.
Saturo winced with compassion, for like Shikaku, the clan leader and Shikamaru's father, neither of them had much trouble waking up in the morning, and Sarada was not going to go easy on any of them when she believed it was crucial for Shikamaru to become a shinobi. Being the heir to his father, Shikamaru was expected to carry on his father's legacy, which Sarada, their mother, believed was crucial for Shikamaru to accomplish.
Saturo hoped that Shikamaru would handle the duties that their mother placed on him, even though he was aware that Shikamaru was more of a strategy than a combatant.
After eating breakfast in solitude, they got up, picked up their homemade lunchboxes from their mother, said farewell to her, and left the Nara clan's compound to make their way along the crowded streets to the Shinobi Academy.
After staring at Shikamaru for a moment, Saturo finally made up his mind to say anything. "So how is the academy?" asked Saturo.
It's a drag," Shikamaru said, dragging himself along alongside Saturo. Their mother believed they should hurry, but neither of them was. "While the teachers are excellent, there are other students who lack knowledge about shinobi. Even though Sasuke Uchiha doesn't seem interested in them, Ino Yamanaka and Sakura Haruno are in love with Sasuke. Then there is Naruto Uzumaki, the noisy miscreant who can never sit still long enough to pay attention in class and who is usually sent to the corridor outside of it." Shikamaru mumbled.
"Ino Yamanaka?" Saturo looked at his brother and questioned, looking surprised and astonished. "Not the daughter of Inoichi Yamanaka?"
"The one and only," Shikamaru shot back, not seeming to be pleased with the situation.
"I doubt that Inoichi would be interested in learning that his daughter is now just a fangirl instead of honing her shinobi talents. Since your clans are pals, it's very likely that you three will form a team and bring back the Ino-Shika-Cho Team if you, Ino, and Choji graduate at the same time," Saturo said in disbelief.
"That's why I haven't told dad about it; I don't want to be the one who puts Ino's father against her, and on top of that, we, Ino and I, have no good relationship at all." Shikamaru spoke with obvious irritation. "I usually look like the dumb student in the class when I try to reason with her because she thinks I'm berating her for her 'Sasuke-kun'. After the fifth instance, I gave up intervening."
Knowing Shikamaru would undoubtedly keep such knowledge confidential, Saturo bit back a response. Throughout history, Shikamaru has consistently chosen the simplest path over the most challenging one. Saturo sometimes understood it, but not always was the easiest course of action the best one. However, Saturo's understanding of the issue was further enhanced when he learned that Shikamaru had attempted an intervention in the past and it had not gone well.
Silently, Saturo and his brother Shikamaru strolled in the direction of the Shinobi Academy. Since neither of them knew what to say to each other afterwards. Saturo made the decision to learn whatever he needed to know about his classmates from this school day.
