I have watched a number of YouTube videos about Steve/Carol Danvers, and they were awesome. I am a hardcore Steve/Natasha fan! But I also loved the Steve/Carol videos and thought I'd try them paired together.

No sooner had Scott arrived, did Pepper arrive. Now she, Steve and Bucky (at Pepper's request) are sitting outside.

"So, he's lost in space somewhere?" She asks, wiping her tears with a tissue Bucky gave her. "I like to think that instead of thinking the worst."

"No one's suggesting the worst." Steve told her gently.

Pepper turns to Bucky. "Sargent Barnes, are you ok?" She asks gently, surprising him.

"Uh, yeah." He nods, shocked to know she wanted to be around him. "I've had bad days, worst days and normal days." He cocks his head. "You're willingly talking to me?" He asks. "Af." He hesitated. "After what I did to the Starks?"

Pepper shook her head. "It was not your fault! You were not yourself." She said firmly. "The key to healing is to forgive yourself. You understand me Sargent?"

Bucky blinked hard. "Yeah." He nods. "Yes, yes ma'am."

"And." Her eyes shinned with tears. "I am so sorry about Tony's reaction, and what he did to your arm. He holds grudges."

Bucky felt touched. "Thank you ma'am. His reaction." He pauses to look at Steve, then back at Pepper. "It was understandable."

"He only reacted cause I knew." Steve added. "I knew for sometime." He admitted. "And I didn't tell him."

Pepper blinked some of her tears away. "Tony is a diva and he knows it."

Bucky is looking down, finding his boots fascinated. "I'm sorry."

The strawberry haired woman shook her head. "Sargent, Sargent look at me." She tried to get his attention, and she did. "Nothing is your fault."

Bucky started to argue, but Steve elbowed him stopping him.

"Now." Pepper turns her attention to Steve. "I'm sure Tony told you about that mother who personally blamed the Avengers for her son's death."

Steve sighed heavily through his nose. "Yeah. That's why Tony thought the Accords were such great idea."

Pepper looked livid. "How dare that woman! I can't believe her!" She cried with anger. "Nobody sent the kid to Sokovia, he went there on his own!"

"But Tony is Tony." Steve sighed. "Whatever that woman said, really guilt tripped him."

Pepper straightened her back. "I don't care what happened in the past." She said firmly. "What matters is the present." She looks at Steve. "Tony is lost in space. We gotta find him."

Steve nods. "And we will."

"How?" She asks.

"Danvers." Steve answered. "She knows space better then the rest of the us."

Pepper looks hopeful. "Steve do you trust her?"

"I do."

Pepper takes a shaky breath. "Ok." She nods. "Ok."

Carol walked outside of the Avengers facility, Steve and Pepper behind her. "Please find him." Pepper begs tearfully, making Carol turn around to look at her.

"If he's out there, I'll find him." The blonde woman promises. "I know the solar system." She turns and takes off towards the sky.

Steve wrapped his arm around Pepper's shoulders. "Come on Pep, I'll take you home." He urges gently, but she shook her head.

"No. I wanna stay."

Steve nods. "Ok." He gently turns her around and leads her back inside.

Some hours later, Bucky and Steve walked along the sidewalk of Brooklyn. Both taking in their old neighborhood. With his hands stuffed deep in his pockets, Bucky pauses as he looks at a church like in a trance.

The church itself is big, dark brick with black shutters by the windows, and on top of the church is a tall tower with a bell, and steps leading all the way to the sidewalk.

Steve comes up to his side. "You wanna go in?" He asks while nudging his old friend, who shook his head.

"No, no, no." Bucky took a shaking breath. "My sins are way too deep. I can't go back in a church, there's no way!"

Steve chewed on his lower lip. "Have you tried to go in a church?"

Bucky looked like a homeless man, blending in with the others as they all were lined up by a building and taking their turn to come inside a soup kitchen. Once it was his turn to come inside, Bucky gently pulled off his hat in respect and stuffed it in his jacket.

When he had his tray of steamy hot food, Bucky's eyes roamed the big room. A door that lead to a closet size bathroom, a hallway that probably led down to the back of the building.

Even though the room is big, Bucky moved to sit by himself and started to eat and trying his best to avoid eye contact.

"Excuse me."

The voice and the gentle tap on shoulder made him look up. A man and woman stood there, the woman had tapped his shoulder. Bucky couldn't stop staring at her.

"Do you mind?" She asked as she cradled her tray and a hurt arm. "Everywhere else is full. My brother and I promise we won't be a problem for you."

Bucky blinked hard, then realized he was staring. "Su, sure." He nodded, he got up and held out the chair next to him for the girl who blushed.

"Thank you." She smiled as she took the seat with ease.

"You're welcome." Bucky spoke in Sokovian. That made the woman and man look at each other with slight surprise then turn back to him.

"You know Sokovian?" The man asks, making Bucky blinks and tries to search his scrambled brain.

"Yes."

"You look too American to be Sokovian. Ow!"

"Pietro be nice." His sister scolded after she kicked him in the shin under the table. She turns to Bucky. "I'm sorry about him."

Bucky gently waved it off. "S'ok."

XxXxXxXx

Bucky blinked hard as his flashback ended and he realized that Steve is currently waving a hand in front of his face.

"Buck. You still with me pal?"

"Yeah." Bucky turned from the church. "Let's move on." He starts to move, but stopped short causing Steve to crash into him. But Bucky's eyes are on the small cemetery on the side of the church. "Do you think they're in there?" Referring to his parents.

Steve didn't know. But before he could say anything, Bucky quickly headed for the cemetery. "Buck!" He quickly followed him. Walking into the cemetery Steve noticed the place is old and probably as old as the two Men Out Of Time.

The blonde along the grass and looked around the headstones, the place didn't look not kept somebody had to have been keeping the cemetery nice even if it's an old place.

A name on a headstone caught Steve's attention, the blonde knelt down and gently wiped the dirt off the stone. Proctor. "Hey, Buck!" Steve starts as he stands and looks around. Frowning, Steve looks around and moves. Finding Bucky around the corner and sitting on his knees in front of a headstone. As Steve moves closer he sees Bucky's parents names on the headstone.

Steve moves closer and sits on his knees next to the brunette.

"Bet they died believing they'd meet me upstairs." Bucky said with emotion, his voice and body shaking. Steve slung his arm around his best friend's shoulders, he didn't know what to say. They stayed quiet for a long time so when Bucky's phone vibrated it made both men jump, he tried to blink his tears as he pulls out his phone to see a text from Wanda.

"Melina's at the hospital." The text said.

XxXxXxXx

At a hospital nearby the Avengers facility. Sam is sitting in a chair in the waiting room when the double doors burst open to reveal Bucky racing in, Steve behind him. Bucky looks towards Sam.

"Where is she? What happened!?" The assassin demanded, stalking up to him. "Where's Melina?"

"She swallowed a quarter." Sam answered. "She's ok, she and Wanda are back with the doctor."

Steve raised an eyebrow. "A quarter?" He asks as Bucky moves to the doors where Sam had pointed.

"You'll get the quarter back." Natasha said. "She might have to crap out three nickels and a dime that's when you should be scared."

Bucky pauses at the doorway to give her a hard glare. "You're not helping Romanoff!" Just as he said that the door near him opens to reveal Melina and Wanda walking out.

"Hi daddy!" Melina smiled once she saw him. Bucky picks her up.

"Hi doll, you feeling ok?" He asked as he carried her on his hip.

"Yes." His daughter nods, then smiles when she saw Steve. "Hi Uncle Steve!"

"Hi Melina."

Bucky kissed the side of Melina's head. "Why did you swallow a quarter?" He asked.

"I wouldn't be too worried Buck." Steve said. "Remember when we were handcuffed together?" He asks. "You told me to keep the key in safe place."

"You swallowed it, Punk."

"Only because

Freddy McClain collided into us." Steve retorts with his face turning red as Sam snickered.

"Can we please not talk about this?" Wanda asks. "I want to go home."

"And we are." Bucky nods firmly. "Sam, get Lang back here to the facility."

"He's still there." Sam answered. "He needed to sleep off that jet leg."

"Well, it's time for him to wake up and tell us where the devil he's been this whole time!" Bucky retorts.
