This is the last of the Halloween 1992 chapters. In this one, Harry, Amy, Susan, and Hannah present each other the gifts they made for each other during the club meetings.
After the club meetings, the students and staff of Skyward School of Practical Sorcery gathered in the Eating and Meeting Hall for Halloween lunch.
They would be using the same plates, forks, knives, and goblets that they had used for breakfast. However, for Halloween lunch, the Eating and Meeting Hall had been given the added touch of orange, black, and purple bunting.
Halloween lunch consisted of black bun hamburgers with a side of thick cut fries and Coca Cola Classic to wash it down with.
The meal was good, but the main focus of this lunch session was the students showing each other what they had made during the club meetings.
This was particularly significant for the Yellow Quartet.
"Amy, I made something for you during my Broom Club meeting," piped up Harry kindly.
"And I created a gift for you during my Potions Club meeting," replied Amy warmly.
"Guess what, Hannah?" smiled Susan, "I produced something to give to you during my Sand Club meeting."
"That makes four of us," added Hannah, "I thought of something to make for you during my Water Club meeting."
At the staff table, Sirius, Remus, Ameila, and Heather all exchanged smiles.
"I get goosebumps thinking about how special the bond of the Yellow Quartet is," said Sirius seriously, "The fact that all of four of them, when presented with the opportunity they were presented with today, thought not to make things for themselves, but for each other, that is special."
"The Yellow Quartet are not only singularly gifted students, but they are also uncommonly kind people," observed Remus fondly.
"Especially," added Ameila, "When you consider that they are twelve. Harry, Amy, Susan, and Hannah have to be the four most unselfish twelve years I've ever met."
"Their bond is unshakeable," cooed Heather, "To me, the one thing that more than anything else puts in perspective that Harry, Amy, Susan, and Hannah have a strong and genuine friendship is the fact that they have never had a fight or falling out. When you can honestly say that a group of people have never had a fight or falling out, that's when you know that have a sincere, wholesome, and genuine high quality friendship on your hands."
Meanwhile, at the Yellow Quartet's table, Harry was presenting the watercolor broomstick he had made in Broom Club to Amy.
"Aw, Harry, you thought to create a Potions themed broomstick for me by painting images of black cauldrons onto the purple background?" cooed Amy, feeling her insides glow as she accepted Harry's gift to her.
"I know how much you love Potions, Amy," said Harry meaningfully, "I also knew that you were on board with the idea of purple being a Halloween color. "
"I am very touched, Harry," said Amy emotionally, a few tears of emotion streaming down her face, "Your thought was not only to do something for me, but actually think about what my interests are and what I love most. You know, I was the one who was most on board with the four of us joining different school clubs because of my background of growing up at Nurture's Orphanage with lots of friends but nothing close to a bestie. And I stand by Heather making that decision. But I can honestly say with no exaggeration and no hyperbolae that I could not have asked for a better BFF than Harry Potter. Harry, you are the one person who I literally cannot imagine or envision my world without. And it's time for me to reciprocate."
Amy now gave Harry the colored pencil cauldron she had made in Potions Club to Harry.
Harry felt his heart leap and his insides warm up as though he had just consumed a dozen hot butterbeers as he took the cauldron Amy had made for him.
"This is perfect, Amy," beamed Harry with his eyes lit up and his face glowing, " So, from left to right, you colored each fifth of this cauldron a different Halloween color: orange, black, purple, white, and ghoulish green. You then drew a broomstick in each fifth: a purple broomstick on the orange section, a ghoulish green broomstick on the black section, an orange broomstick on the purple section, a black broomstick on the white section, and a white broomstick on the ghoulish green section. This is wonderful work, Amy."
"I know that you are very passionate about flying, Harry," said Amy fondly, "I also know how much of a Halloween junkie you are. Using all the Halloween colors and including images of broomsticks on this cauldron made it the perfect thing for me to create for you."
"Amy," said Harry emotionally, "I can't begin to tell you how much I cherish all of the thought and effort you put into creating this special Halloween gift for me. I never had a friend before you. You have shown me what having a BFF means. We didn't choose to be each other's besties. That happened organically. I truly cannot have asked for a better best friend than you, Amy. Amy, you are literally the one person I cannot image or envision my world without. "
"Hannah," piped up Susan, "I constructed a keepsake for you that actually symbolizes the bond between all four of us."
Susan set the Sand Structure she had made in Sand Club in Hannah's hands.
"Oh," realized Hannah happily, "You obviously played on my love of water in making a sand pool with four swimmers. I still really appreciate you letting me join the Water Club and choosing a different club for yourself."
"No problem, Hannah," smiled Susan, "I'm really enjoying Sand Club anyway."
"I notice," added Hannah, "That the swimmers are naked. That can't be a coincidence. That touch was clearly meant to pay homage to those times the four of us swan naked in the pool at Abbott Manor."
"Can confirm," said Susan simply.
"This was really sweet of you, Susan," said Hannah radiantly. "You crafted something for me that combined reflected my interests while also paying tribute to our friendship as well the time we spend together at Abbott Manor."
"Hannah," said Susan sincerely, "Being besties from cradle to grave isn't an opportunity afforded to all that many people. We really need to savor that bond. We should never take for granted how lucky we are to have such a friendship."
"I couldn't agree more," nodded Hannah, "And here's what I sculpted for you."
Hannah now gifted Susan the ice sculpture she had made in Water Club.
"Oh," said Susan cheerfully, "You made me a skeleton because skeletons are made of bones and my last name is Bones."
"Smart Susan," cooed Hannah fondly.
"Hannah," said Susan sincerely, "Your gesture of sculpting something for me that is tied to my name is very meaningful."
"Our friendship is everything," said Hannah fiercely, "You hit the nail on the head about how special our friendship is and why it is so special."
After a minute and a nanosecond of taking in the gifts they had made for each other, Harry, Amy, Susan, and Hannah all looked at each other and smiled at each other.
Feeling each other within each other, they shouted out, "The Yellow Quartet!" in unison.
