The episode referenced in this one-shot is Season 2, Episode 4: The Fairy Godparents Job.
No direct quotes in this one! Also, this is more so a pre-episode as opposed to during, so bare that in mind.
The legalities. I do not own any of the Leverage franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au. Rated M just to be on the safe side.
Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!
Hope you enjoy!
Prompt: "I don't want to talk about it."
"But you love telling people how brilliant you are. At length."
"What the hell, woman?" Pru looked up from her spot at the desk that they'd put in the back corner of Nate's apartment to see most of the Leverage team (she could see Eliot in her peripherals making something in the kitchen) standing in the middle of the living room. Alec Hardison, hacker extraordinaire, was looking at Sophie Deveraux like she had grown a second head. Apparently, she had dome something that could have jeopardized the team while they were out earlier and now the others were calling her out on it.
When a plate was set down in front of her, Pru looked up to meet Eliot's gaze. They had both noticed that Sophie had been acting different, starting around the time that the team had gotten back from their job in Nebraska a couple of weeks ago. Pru and Eliot (who was letting her stay with him for the time being) had had a rather long conversation after that job about what all was going on, not only with Sophie, but with the team in general. The current look on Eliot's face portrayed that he was also thinking about that conversation and the main question that still lay unanswered; what was wrong with their grifter?
"Sophie, what's going on with you? And don't say nothing, because I think that we all can see that something is going on." Pru rolled her eyes (a move that she noticed Eliot had mirrored) as she looked back over to the rest of the group, who now stood like they were ready to battle. She shook her head as she grabbed the sandwich Eliot had made her and began to eat quickly. Her intervening seemed inevitable at this point, and she needed to eat before that happened.
"I don't want to talk about it."
Pru heard Alec huff and ate faster. "But Sophie, you love telling people about how brilliant you are. At length."
Before Sophie (or anyone else for that matter) could retort, Pru swallowed and stood. "That's enough! If Sophie doesn't want to talk about something, she doesn't have to, is that clear?" After getting an affirmative nod from everyone (and a slight smirk from Eliot), she continued. "Now, Alec, there is some research you need to do about this mark; the list is over on your laptop and please don't get distracted again. Parker, I hid the list of supplies I think you all will need so find it, and then go acquire them. Nate, I have all of our current research for this job printed off and on my desk. Please go over it and help Alec as needed. Eliot don't forget that you offered to help in the kitchen downstairs today. And Soph, I saw a couple of boutiques that just opened up. Want to go check them out?" As everyone else nodded in agreement, Nate furrowed his brow. "I thought I was in charge."
Pru raised her eyebrow. "You may be the mastermind, Nathan Ford, but I'm the one who manages you all. Now, let's get a move on it."
With that, the team went their separate ways, most hoping that their "manager" could figure out what was going on with their grifter.
