Yay, it's another interlude!
Now, we finally get to learn how Nate and Pru first meet! You could sort of view this as a bit of a flashback companion to the last one-shot uploaded, entitled "Book Manager," as well as a second part to the very first interlude of this series.
The legalities: I do not own any of the Leverage franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au. Rated M just to be on the safe side.
Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!
Hope you enjoy!
"Woman, did you really need this many books?" Prudence "Pru" Beck began to chuckle as she looked around the pile of books in her arms at the young man who was like a brother to her. "Alec, you were the one who decided that I needed to work with you guys. And this was my stipulation. Which you did agree to, if memory serves."
Alec Hardison rolled his eyes as he unlocked the door for the offices of Leverage Consulting and Associates (Pru was calling it Leverage, Inc., in her head because it sounded better). "You aren't planning to keep all of these here, are you?" Pru scoffed. "Alec, I just got here this morning. I haven't even begun to attempt to find an apartment or the like yet. So, until I get a place, yes, I will be keeping all of these here."
"Hardison, what is going on?" As Alec stumbled, Pru smirked behind the pile of books. That voice must belong to the mand that Alec had told her was the mastermind behind this whole little venture that he had gotten her involved in. Nathan Ford, ex-insurance investigator.
Turning slightly so that he could see her face around the books in her hands, she smiled wide at the brunette in front of her. "Hello, I'm Pru Beck. Alec has hired me to act as the office manager for all of you." "Nate Ford. Hardison, a word."
As Alec followed Nathan farther into the office, Pru set her pile down on a chair and hurried over to the front desk. Once there, she quickly logged onto Alec's security system to watch what was going on. This may not be the reason that Alec had given her the log in for the system (she was probably one of the few people that could actually hack into his systems), but this was how she was going to use it currently.
On the screen, she saw both men standing in front of each other. "Who is that, Hardison?" "She is who she said she was. Her name is Prudence Beck, but she prefers Pru, and she is an old friend. Nate, I know that you don't trust others easily; I don't either. But I trust Pru with everything. She has helped me multiple times on jobs and in life and she is probably really overqualified to do this. We need her."
"Fine, but no one else."
Alec scoffed. "Nate, Pru wouldn't let anyone else even attempt to join up with us. She will be the best to help deal with everything. Just put a bit of faith in both of us, please."
Pru smiled as she closed down the security app. This was one of those times that she was very glad to have Alec in her corner. She sighed. Now she just had to find a place to live. Oh, joy.
