The next morning Penelope woke up to the smell of coffee, she opened her eyes and saw her husband walking through their bedroom door carrying a tray with their breakfast on it, he grinned as he made his way across the room.
He placed the tray on the bed and sat down beside her, Penelope said, "ohhhh thank you" as she took her plate from the tray and placed it in her lap, she then took a sip of coffee and said, "ohhhh this is soooo good, thank you", he winked at her and said, "you are very welcome sweetness".
As they sat there eating their breakfast they talked about him going back to work, he told her that he had talked to his mom, sisters and her brothers and their wives and they were going to be around her as much as possible, especially when he was out of town on a case, she grinned and told him that she understood because she worked with the FBI too.
Fran, Sarah, Desi, Shelly and Sandy told Derek that they would take turns staying with Penelope when the team was gone until she was healed up and ready to go back to work, she could see that Derek was worried about her so she agreed with their plan, he grinned and leaned in and kissed her gently on the lips and said, "I love you", she said, "I guess I love you too".
He laughed and said, "you guess you love me?", she said, "wellllllll, if you want to get technical I do love you", he looked at her and she said, "ohhhh alright, I'm head over heels in love with you does that make you feel better?", he laughed and said, "yes, yes it does", they then finished their breakfast.
After breakfast was over Derek took their tray back downstairs and cleaned up the mess and when he was getting ready to head back upstairs she came downstairs showered, dressed and was ready for the day.
He wrapped his arms around her and said, "you didn't overdo, right?", she shook her head and said, "no handsome, I'm fine, exhausted now but I'm fine", he said, "you need to rest up because the sooner you're back to 100% the sooner you can come back to work with your husband and the rest of our family".
She sighed and said, "okayyyyyyyyyy, okayyyyy, I'll rest, I'll rest", he smiled and said, 'that's my girl" as he walked her over to the couch and watched her sit down and get comfortable, she then said, "happy?", he kissed her lips passionately and said, "yes".
Penelope said, "Clooneyyyyyyyy?", the dog came running into the room with his tail wagging and barking as he stopped in front of the couch, she said, "how are you today?", he barked, she said, "really, that's good", Derek stood watching as she said, "do you want to stay with mommy today?", he barked again.
She patted the couch in front of her and he jumped up, turned around and laid down in front of her, she rubbed him and said, "that's my boy, that's my boy", Derek put his hands on his hips and said, "and what about me?", she said, "you're my boy too", Derek said, "I better be", their attention then turned to the door when somebody knocked.
He said, "cominggggg", Penelope looked down at Clooney and said, "daddy's crazy isn't he?", to which Clooney barked, she said, "he's crazy but we love him don't we?", Clooney barked again and then laid his head down again while they waited on Derek to come back into the room.
