Chapter 73: CraftyCorn Vs Poe: Elegant Reasonings
CraftyCorn was running. She was running to try and catch up to either Bobby or to DogDay. She stopped and was out of breath.
"Oh no…" She said, "I'm… out of breath… I gotta call DogDay."
CraftyCorn got out her phone to call DogDay, but after waiting a few seconds, DogDay declined the call, hanging up in an instant.
"Damn it!" She said, devastated, "Why are you acting this way, DogDay? Why?"
"Are you ok?" A voice asked CraftyCorn,
"Huh?"
CraftyCorn turned to see Poe and got scared for a split second.
"Oh, it's just you." She said, "Was your name, Poe?"
"Yes, my name is Poe." Poe replied as they straightened their glasses, "Hmm… It appears you're having trouble with this DogDay friend of yours, correct?"
"Yeah…"
"What is DogDay to you?"
"Hmm?"
"Like, what do you view DogDay as?"
CraftyCorn closed her eyes and sighed heavily.
"I view DogDay as…" She replied, "...As a brother. He and I always had each other's backs, no matter how bumpy the road gets… The same goes for CatNap… It's like I was a little sister that always gets to go on these magical adventures with her two big brothers… We never had siblings in our families, so we became one in spirit. It's been that way for years, but then my sacrifice tore it apart for a year…"
"Hmm?" Poe wondered, "Your sacrifice?"
"Oh… You probably never knew about The Hour Of Joy…"
"I actually do… All I did was hide in my apartment until it was over. Never done anything huge."
"I see…"
"But seriously though, what did you sacrifice?"
"...Myself. It was a duel against Morris, or, RebelRaven…"
"Another raven critter you had trouble with, huh? And I thought I was causing trouble to others when I was in high school…"
"Well, here's the thing. You're different from RebelRaven. He's rebellious yet you're… mysterious."
"I'm quite the interesting critter myself. I'm a night owl and I don't usually like the sun all that much, which explains why I'm usually out here when the sun is not shining."
"Yeah, it's pretty cloudy for the month of June lately…"
"Which is good, since the weather is in my favor lately."
CraftyCorn chuckled a bit.
"Anyways, where have you been when your sacrifice took you away from DogDay and CatNap?" Poe asked her, "The two critters you viewed as your brothers when you're not by blood…"
"I thought I was gonna die…" CraftyCorn replied, "But surprisingly, I didn't. This guy named GuardianDove gave me another chance at life… I didn't know it was possible for one to do so… But he did give me another chance, but in exchange for his life, which is why you would view him in your dreams. And after that, I ended up in the middle of a forest, lost. But then, I still have something within me, my artistic creativity. I built a beautiful zen garden and pretty much calmed myself down by being one with zen, ha ha…"
"Hmm, I guess I'm not the only one that's quite interesting to talk to."
CraftyCorn chuckled again.
"Wow…" She said, "You're not bad."
"I'm taken." Poe said,
"No, I didn't mean it that way. I mean, I am taken as well… But nevermind that, what made you follow me?"
"One of your friends told me to come find you. I think his name was Bubba, wasn't it?"
"Oh, he's my boyfriend!"
"Oh, so that's why you're also taken, I see."
"Hang on, let me call Bubba and check if he genuinely sent you here."
Poe sighed.
"Take your time." They said,
While CraftyCorn called Bubba, Poe looked at their phone for the weather.
"So it's 1PM…" They said, "The sun will still be covered by the clouds… Good."
Later, CraftyCorn ended her call with Bubba by saying, "I love you" in a happy tone. She ended the call with a smile and turned to Poe.
"Ok, he was genuine." She said, "He sent you here."
"Told you." Poe said, "Anyways, are you gonna go after DogDay?"
"I could, but… Bobby probably made it by now."
"Right, so there's no need for me to help you out then."
"Wait!"
"Hmm?"
"Thanks for the assistance though."
"Oh, you're welcome… I never really assisted you…"
"Don't worry about it. Here, do you want me to pay you back?"
"With what? Money?"
"No, silly! How about a duel?"
"Hmm… Been a while since I've dueled…"
"You mean yesterday when you dueled Bobby and her brother?"
"...Oh yeah, I forgot. Alright, let's get this over with, but I must warn you, CraftyCorn, I don't hold back."
"Me neither! Let's start our little canvas together!"
The duel between CraftyCorn and Poe has started as the two critters shouted, "Duel!" after activating their Duel Disks.
Turn 1
CraftyCorn: 4000
Poe: 4000
CraftyCorn went first. She looked at her hand.
"Hmm, I prefer to go second…" She said, "But it doesn't matter, I'm gonna go and start this canvas right by painting a beautiful background!"
CraftyCorn then played a familiar Field Spell.
"I activate my Field Spell, The Weather Forecast!" She said, "And when activated, I can place 1 "The Weather" Spell or Trap from my Deck to my Spell and Trap Zone face-up!"
"Interesting…" Poe said,
CraftyCorn then revealed a Continuous Trap called, "The Weather Rainbowed Canvas" and placed it face-up in her Spell and Trap Zones.
"And that will be the Continuous Trap, The Weather Rainbow Canvas!" She said,
"Already using a rather powerful card, huh?" Poe wondered, "Which reminds me, I actually did play against a critter who played The Weather Painter, but I haven't seen them since."
"I see, well, I'm sure you two would… reunite."
"I hope so…"
"Anyways, back to the duel! I Normal Summon this monster from my hand in Attack Position!"
The Weather Painter Snow was Normal Summoned in Attack Position with 0 ATK Points and in the same column as The Weather Rainbowed Canvas.
"The Weather Painter Snow!" CraftyCorn said, "And when she's Normal Summoned, I can place a "The Weather" Spell or Trap Card from my Deck to my field face-up!"
CraftyCorn then does so, placing another Continuous Trap Card directly from her Deck to her Spell/Trap Zone, this time it's The Weather Auroral Canvas.
"And this one will be The Weather Auroral Canvas!" She said, "Now for The Weather Forecast to activate one of its effects!"
"One of?" Poe wondered,
"Correct! During my Main Phase, I can Normal Summon another "The Weather" monster from my hand after resolving!"
"I see, continue."
CraftyCorn then revealed another The Weather monster from her hand.
"For the next Normal Summon, I will be Normal Summoning The Weather Painter Thunder!" She said,
The Weather Painter Thunder was Normal Summoned in Attack Position with 1700 ATK Points and in the same column as The Weather Auroral Canvas. CraftyCorn then sets a card in her Spell and Trap Zone.
"I'll set this card face-down and end my turn." She said,
"That was it?" Poe wondered, "Well, I was hoping for something better, but ok!"
Poe draws to start Turn 2. They then Normal Summoned a monster.
"I summon Astellar Of The White Forest in Attack Position!" They said,
Astellar Of The White Forest was Normal Summoned in Attack Position with 0 ATK Points.
"Guess I'm not the only one that Normal Summons a monster with 0 ATK Points." CraftyCorn said,
"Indeed." Poe said, "Now, for Astellar's effect while on the field, I shall send a Spell/Trap from my hand to the Graveyard to Special Summon a LIGHT Spellcaster Tuner Monster from my Deck!"
Poe then sends Woes Of The White Forest from their hand to the Graveyard.
"And I'll be sending Woes Of The White Forest to Special Summon the Tuner monster, Silvy Of The White Forest from my Deck!" They shouted,
Silvy Of The White Forest was Special Summoned onto the field in Attack Position with 1500 ATK Points.
"And when Silvy is Normal or Special Summoned, I can add a White Forest Spell or Trap from my Deck to my Hand" Poe said as they does so, being the Spell Card, Beware The White Forest. "Next, Woes Of The White Forest is in the Graveyard after being sent there to activate a monster effect. I shall set it to my field!"
Poe then sets the Trap Card, Woes Of The White Forest from their Graveyard to their side of the field.
"Alright, here comes a Synchro Summon!" CraftyCorn said,
"Indeed there is a Synchro Summon happening right now!" Poe said, "I tune my Level 4 Silvy Of The White Forest with my Level 2 Astellar Of The White Forest!"
A Synchro Summon has started between the Level 4 Tuner Silvy Of The White Forest and the Level 2 non-tuner Astellar Of The White Forest.
"Deep within The White Forest, I Synchro Summon the Level 6 Tuner Synchro Monster, Rciela, Sinister Soul Of The White Forest!" Poe shouted,
Rciela, Sinister Soul Of The White Forest was Synchro Summoned in Attack Position with 2000 ATK Points, but was up to 2500 under its own effect.
"Wow, such colors…" CraftyCorn said, "I've never seen your White Forest monsters up close before. Wow, so much inspiration for my next art piece!"
Poe chuckled.
"Don't get too amazed by my White Forest Deck!" They said, "Focus, as I shall now activate the effect of my Rciela upon being Special Summoned!"
"Uh-oh." CraftyCorn said, "Should I be worried?"
"Almost."
"Ok, what does Rciela do?"
"Upon being Special Summoned, I can send a Spell or Trap from my hand or field to the Graveyard to add a White Forest card or a LIGHT Spellcaster monster from my Deck to my Hand."
Poe then sends Beware The White Forest from their hand to their Graveyard.
"And by sending Beware The White Forest, I can add this particular White Forest card." They said as they did so and revealed it, "Sinful Spoils Of The White Forest. And it's a Quick-Play Spell, believe it or not."
"Another Sinful Spoils card…" CraftyCorn said to herself, "They could be playing Diabellstar anytime soon…"
"Now for Astellar's effect from my Graveyard." Poe said as they revealed it from their Graveyard, "When a Spell or Trap card is sent there under a monster's effect, I can Special Summon her back to my field."
Astellar Of The White Forest was Special Summoned back onto the field in Attack Position again.
"And of course, when Beware The White Forest is sent from the hand or field to the Graveyard under a monster's effect, I can set it back to my field." Poe said as they did so, "Now, I shall tune my Level 6 Rciela, Sinister Soul Of The White Forest with my Level 2 Astellar Of The White Forest!"
"I knew another Synchro Summon was about to occur!' CraftyCorn said,
Another Synchro Summon has started, only this time with the Level 6 tuner Rciela, Sinister Soul Of The White Forest and the Level 2 non-tuner Astellar Of The White Forest.
"Deep within The White Forest, this queen rules with illusionary magic, and will be bestowed by the forest to fight with mysterious elegance!" Poe chanted, "Synchro Summon!"
A queen with a white dress and purple roots as arms emerges from the Synchro Summon.
"Protect your legacy, Level 8, Diabell, Queen Of The White Forest!" Poe shouted,
Diabell, Queen Of The White Forest was Synchro Summoned in Attack Position with 2500 ATK Points.
"Woah… There she is." CraftyCorn said,
"And I don't need to use Diabell's effect to add a Spell or Trap Card from my Graveyard to my hand if Synchro Summoned with a Tuner Synchro Monster." Poe said, "Because I don't have any Spells or Traps in my Graveyard anyways."
"Ok then…"
"Well, I suppose it's time for me to start the Battle Phase then!"
The Battle Phase started.
"I hope I'm prepared for this!" CraftyCorn said,
"You pretty much should be!" Poe said, "Because you have a monster with 0 ATK Points wide open for Diabell, Queen Of The White Forest to strike upon! White Forest Wrath!"
Diabell went to attack The Weather Painter Snow, but CraftyCorn slid her right leg back.
"Not so fast!" She said, "I activate The Weather Rainbowed Canvas's effect treated as The Weather Painter Snow!"
"And what will you do?" Poe wondered,
"When you control a monster, I can banish The Weather Painter Snow to Special Summon another "The Weather" monster from my Deck! So Snow fades away…"
The Weather Painter Snow was banished.
"Just for The Weather Painter Aurora to take her place!" CraftyCorn said,
The Weather Painter Aurora was Special Summoned onto the field from CraftyCorn's Deck in Attack Position with 2200 ATK Points and in the same column as The Weather Rainbowed Canvas.
"Not bad." Poe said, "But I'm still going to attack Aurora with my Diabell! White Forest Wrath!"
Diabell continued her attack, only this time, on The Weather Painter Aurora.
"Not if I do anything once more!" CraftyCorn said, "I revealed my face-down card, the Quick-Play Spell, Half Shut!"
Half Shut was activated.
"With this card, until the end of this turn, I can half the ATK Points of one monster on the field." CraftyCorn said, "And on the bright side, that targeted monster cannot be destroyed by battle this turn!"
"So who are you targeting?" Poe wondered,
"Your Diabell!"
Diabell's ATK Points were halved down to 1250 as she defended herself when The Weather Painter Aurora attacked her. Poe was dealt 950 points of damage, draining their Life Points to 3050. They looked as their Diabell remained on the field after the attack.
"Huh, you weren't kidding on Half Shut." Poe said, "I don't blame you."
Poe then sets 2 more cards in their Spell/Trap Zones, making their zones occupied by 4 set cards.
"I'll set 2 more cards face-down and end my turn." They said,
"4 cards set now…" CraftyCorn said, "I better be careful."
After Diabell's ATK Points went back up to 2500, CraftyCorn drew to start Turn 3.
Turn 3
CraftyCorn: 4000
Poe: 3050
"During my Standby Phase, I can bring back The Weather Painter Snow back to my field after being banished to activate a "The Weather" card!" CraftyCorn said,
The Weather Painter Snow was brought back onto the field.
"Hmm, so you have 3 The Weather Painters in your Monster Zones…" Poe said, "Are you gonna Link Summon with all of them?"
"Yes, but not with all of them!" CraftyCorn said,
"Ehh?"
"The Weather Forecast has a unique effect, which is why I prefer it to be my favorite card. Wanna find out?"
"Sure, let's see."
"Now, to create the Link Circuit that creates a colorful canvas!"
A Link Circuit appeared.
"The summoning requirements for this Link Monster are 3 "The Weather" monsters!" CraftyCorn said, "So I'll be using The Weather Painter Snow, The Weather Rainbowed Canvas and The Weather Auroral Canvas as Link Materials!"
"Wait, you're using two of your face-up Continuous Traps as Link Materials?!" Poe said,
"Correct! It's all thanks to The Weather Forecast's unique effect that I can use once per turn!"
The Weather Painter Snow alongside The Weather Rainbowed Canvas and The Weather Auroral Canvas were used as Link Materials for a Link Summon by going to the Bottom Left, Bottom, and Bottom Right Arrows to light them up.
"Link the circuits!" CraftyCorn said as she started to chant, "Even in the night skies, a rainbow will still be as majestic as ever! Link Summon!"
A familiar monster, but under a different feel appeared from the Link Circuit.
"Color up the beauty of the night, Link-3, The Weather Painter Moonbow!" CraftyCorn shouted,
In the Extra Monster Zone and in the same column as The Weather Painter Thunder, Link-3 The Weather Painter Moonbow was Link Summoned with 2400 ATK Points. Not only was it pointing to Thunder, but was also to Aurora in the Main Monster Zones.
"I've never seen this Link Monster before…" Poe said, "Looks like The Weather Painter Rainbow, but she's dressing in black. Ok, what do you have in store, Moonbow?"
"Looks like you're interested in Moonbow's effect, huh?" CraftyCorn wondered, "Alright, I'll show you, but first!"
CraftyCorn then Summoned a monster from her hand.
"I summon The Weather Painter Rain in Attack Position!" She said as The Weather Painter Rain was Normal Summoned in Attack Position with 1200 ATK Points and is in the same zone The Weather Painter Moonbow points to via her Bottom Left Link Arrow, "And now this is where The Weather Painter Moonbow's special ability comes into place!"
"Go on…" Poe said,
"When it points to a "The Weather" monster, which it already is, 3 of them to be exact, they all gain an ability which lets them banish themselves to banish a monster you control until the Standby Phase of the next turn!"
"What?!"
"That's right! And I'll prove it to you as The Weather Painter Rain will be banished under the effect given by The Weather Painter Moonbow to banish your Diabell! Moonbow Masterpiece!"
The Weather Painter Rain was banished under The Weather Painter Moonbow's effect as Diabell, Queen Of The White Forest was banished as well.
"Guess you're wide open now!" CraftyCorn said, "Time to battle!"
The Battle Phase started again.
"I'm gonna let The Weather Painter Aurora attack first!" CraftyCorn said, "Hope the Aurora Borealis doesn't hurt your eyes!"
As The Weather Painter Aurora went to paint a beam of aurora light, Poe straightened their glasses.
"You forgot that I have a lot of cards set in my Spell/Trap Zones!" They said, "First things first, I activate my Trap Card, Woes Of The White Forest!"
The Trap Card, Woes Of The White Forest was activated.
"With this card, I can Special Summon a White Forest monster from my Deck!" Poe said, "But before that! From my Graveyard, I activate Silvy Of The White Forest's effect!"
Poe returned Rciela, Sinister Soul Of The White Forest from their Graveyard back to their Extra Deck.
"By returning a White Forest Synchro Monster, I can bring back Silvy onto the field and negate her effects!" They said,
Silvy Of The White Forest was Special Summoned onto the field from the Graveyard in Defense Position with 200 DEF Points.
"Now, under Woes Of The White Forest, I'll Special Summon Elzette, Azamina Of The White Forest from my Deck!" Poe said,
Elzette, Azamina Of The White Forest was Special Summoned from the Deck in Defense Position with 0 DEF Points.
"And immediately after Woes Of The White Forest was resolved, I can Synchro Summon a White Forest Synchro Monster right now!" Poe said,
"Crap, I forgot!" CraftyCorn said,
"I tune my Level 4 Silvy Of The White Forest with my Level 2 Elzette, Azamina Of The White Forest!"
Another Synchro Summon has started with the Level 4 tuner, Silvy Of The White Forest and the Level 2 non-tuner Elzette, Azamina Of The White Forest.
"Deep within the wildlife of the White Forest, I Synchro Summon, the Level 6 Synchro Tuner Monster, Silvera, Wolf Tamer Of The White Forest!" Poe shouted,
Silvera, Wolf Tamer Of The White Forest was Synchro Summoned in Attack Position with 1900 ATK Points, but was up to 2400 under her own effect.
"Silvera!" CraftyCorn said, "And you're gonna use her effect to change my 2 Weather Painters in the Main Monster Zones to face-down Defense Position, aren't you?"
"Right you are!" Poe replied,
Silvera's wolves howl at Aurora and Thunder as they were changed to face-down Defense Position.
"Well?" Poe wondered, "Are you gonna attack my Silvera with your Moonbow? Doing so would cause both of them to be destroyed anyway."
CraftyCorn gulped.
"N-No…" She replied, "I would rather not."
"Ok, good." Poe said, "Now, for Elzette, Azamina Of The White Forest's effect will be activated when sent to the Graveyard as Synchro Material."
Poe then searched their Deck for a Sinful Spoils card and revealed it, being of course, the Quick-Play Spell, WANTED: Seeker Of Sinful Spoils.
"There it is…" CraftyCorn said, "They can add a Sinful Spoils card from their Deck to their Hand when Elzette is sent to the Graveyard as Synchro Material…"
CraftyCorn looked at the only card she had in her hand.
"Not sure if this card will help me…" She said, "I just drew this card at the start of this turn…"
CraftyCorn then sets the card in a different column that's next to a set Weather Painter Thunder.
"I set one card face-down and end my turn." She said,
"Alright, my turn!" Poe said as they drew to start Turn 4 and looked at what they drew, "Well, what fortune is this? This should be an interesting turn…"
"Wait, before you do anything, Moonbow will have your Diabell, Queen Of The White Forest return back to the field, but for The Weather Painter Rain, I'll use her effect to Special Summon her back onto the field when banished!"
"Right, it's the Standby Phase after all."
The Weather Painter Rain was Special Summoned back onto the field in Defense Position with 1400 DEF Points.
"And I don't have any other "The Weather" cards in my hand to place in the Spell/Trap Zone." CraftyCorn said as she revealed her hooves,
"No worries." Poe said, "I have one set card you have to worry about anyways."
Diabell, Queen Of The White Forest was returned to Poe's field and her ATK Points went up to 3000 under Silvera's effect.
"Alright, now that the band is back together…" Poe said,
"Here goes nothing…" CraftyCorn said as she prepared herself,
Poe then played WANTED: Seeker Of Sinful Spoils.
"It is time for me to activate WANTED: Seeker Of Sinful Spoils!" They said as they added "Diabellstar The Black Witch" from their Deck to their Hand, "Which lets me add a Diabellstar monster from my Deck or Graveyard to my Hand."
"Here it comes…" CraftyCorn said,
Poe then sends Beware The White Forest from their field to their Graveyard.
"Now, I'll send a card from my field to the Graveyard to Special Summon her right now!" They said as they started to chant, "Come hell or high water as you seek the treasures that you yearn under the black magic! Appear, Diabellstar The Black Witch!"
Diabellstar The Black Witch was Special Summoned onto the field in Attack Position with 2500 ATK Points.
"Diabellstar will activate her effect, which lets me set a Sinful Spoils Spell or Trap from my Deck to my field!" Poe said as they do so by setting, "Susurrus Of The Sinful Spoils" a Quick-Play Spell directly from their Deck, "This will be in good use later."
"Ok, what's next?" CraftyCorn wondered,
Poe then revealed another monster in their hand.
"I Special Summon this card from my hand." They replied, "If a Sinful Spoils card is in either Graveyards."
"No way!" CraftyCorn said, "Another monster related to the Sinful Spoils?!"
"Correct!" Poe replied as they started to chant, "When you break a promise under a sinful desire, your illusions will hesitate to break you until it is done! Appear, Diabellze The Original Sinkeeper!"
Diabellze The Original Sinkeeper was Special Summoned onto the field in Attack Position with 2500 ATK Points.
"Oh no…" CraftyCorn said, "I don't like where this is going…"
Poe then revealed Sinful Spoils Of The White Forest.
"Now for Sinful Spoils Of The White!" They said, "I'll gladly Special Summon another Illusion or Spellcaster monster from my hand! And this one will be Rucia Of The White Forest!"
Poe then revealed Rucia Of The White Forest from their hand and Special Summoned it in Defense Position with 1500 DEF Points.
"I think I'll then activate Rucia's effect right now." They said as they sent a set card from their field to the Graveyard, being Scourge Of The White Forest, "By sending a Spell or Trap from my hand or field to the Graveyard, I draw a card."
Poe draws a card under Rucia's effect. They have 3 cards in their hand compared to CraftyCorn's 0 cards in her hand.
"This is where Scourge Of The White Forest comes into place from the Graveyard." Poe continued, "Like other White Forest Spells or Traps, I can set it from my Graveyard to my field whenever it's sent there to activate a monster's effect."
Scourge Of The White Forest was set back onto the field.
"Now, this is where Diabellze The Original Sinkeeper's effect begins!" Poe said,
"Oh boy, here it comes…" CraftyCorn said as she gulped, "What does Diabellze The Original Sinkeeper do when a card is set?"
"When a Spell or Trap is set to the field while Diabellze is in my Monster Zone, I can destroy a card I control and a card you control."
"Really?!"
"Really! So, my Rucia and your The Weather Painter Moonbow are both destroyed! Sinkeeper's Semblance!"
Diabellze then used her wand to destroy Rucia Of The White Forest and The Weather Painter Moonbow.
"When you destroy The Weather Painter Moonbow, I can Special Summon The Weather Painter Rainbow from my Extra Deck!" CraftyCorn said as she started to chant, "Wash away the worries in this duel and continue to shine the beautiful rainbow in the morning showers! I Special Summon, Link-3, The Weather Painter Rainbow!"
The Weather Painter Rainbow was Special Summoned in the Main Monster Zone in Attack Position with 2400 ATK Points.
"Unfortunately, you cannot use any effects related to being Link Summoned." Poe said, "And it wasn't summoned in the Extra Monster Zone…"
"I know that…" CraftyCorn said, "But, if it's all it takes to help me win…"
"Interesting you are. You know how to play your cards. Unfortunately for you, that will end right now as I shift things to the Battle Phase!"
The Battle Phase started again.
"First, Silvera will attack your set Weather Painter Thunder!" Poe shouted, "And by the way, when an Illusion or Spellcaster Synchro Monster attacks a Defense Position monster while Silvera is on my field, I inflict piercing damage to you!"
"What?!" CraftyCorn said, surprised,
Silvers then attacked The Weather Painter Thunder and destroyed it, dealing 2400 points of damage to CraftyCorn, draining her Life Points to 1600.
"Next, Diabell will attack your set Weather Painter Aurora!" Poe said, "White Forest Wrath!"
Diabell then destroyed The Weather Painter Aurora, dealing 1000 points of damage to CraftyCorn, draining her Life Points to 600.
"Next attack, Diabellstar will attack Rain!" Poe said, "Sinful Black Magic!"
Diabellstar then destroyed The Weather Painter Rain.
"Only one more monster left." Poe said, "Diabellze, attack The Weather Painter Rainbow! Sinfull Golden Illusion!"
As Diabellze went to attack The Weather Painter Rainbow, CraftyCorn smiled.
"I'm lucky to have this card in the same column as The Weather Painter Rainbow." CraftyCorn said,
"Huh?" Poe wondered, "What are you talking about?"
"I activate my Continuous Trap, The Weather Thundery Canvas!"
The Weather Thundery Canvas was activated.
"That shouldn't be good!" Poe said, shocked,
"You were so focused on attacking all of my other monsters, so clearly, it shouldn't!" CraftyCorn said, "By banishing The Weather Painter Rainbow under her effect, treated as Thundery Canvas, I can return your Diabellze The Original Sinkeeper back to the hand during the attack!"
The Weather Painter Rainbow was banished as Diabellze was returned to Poe's hand.
"Damn, you're right, I was so focused on taking out your entire field…" Poe said as they straightened their glasses, "Unfortunately, I can't Special Summon Diabellze The Original Sinkeeper again this turn… I have no choice but to end my turn, right now."
Turn 5
CraftyCorn: 600
Poe: 3050
CraftyCorn sighed in relief.
"Close call…" She said to herself, "And I managed to get lucky… Poe still has a field of powerful monsters that my Rainbow can't take down…"
CraftyCorn then placed her hoof on the top card of her Deck.
"I need this deck to have faith in me." She said, "Like how I have faith in it."
CraftyCorn then draws to start Turn 5. Her rainbow flower charm started to glow. Poe was surprised.
"What the?" They said, "Crafty, your charm…"
"Huh?" CraftyCorn wondered as she looked down at her charm resembling a rainbow flower, "Oh! Did it really come through?"
CraftyCorn then looked at the card she drew and was surprised.
"It did…" She said, "Ok, as long as it can help me, I'm good!"
CraftyCorn then revealed The Weather Painter Rainbow as it was returned to her field in the same column as The Weather Thundery Canvas.
"Since The Weather Painter Rainbow was banished to activate an effect of a "The Weather" card, she'll be brought back to my field no problem!" She said,
CraftyCorn then activates a well known Spell Card.
"Alright, I activate the Spell Card, Swords Of Revealing Light!" She said,
5 swords made out of pure light came down and blocked Poe's monsters from attacking. Poe covered their eyes for a moment.
"Too bright…" They said,
"Your monsters can't attack during three of your turns." CraftyCorn said, "Sorry, but the swords are glowing to make sure your monsters don't set foot near my Weather Painter Rainbow!"
"Grrr…"
"I end my turn."
Poe draws to start Turn 6.
"No worries." They said, "I can still bring back Diabellze to my field, since I still have a Sinful Spoils card in my Graveyard!"
Diabellze The Original Sinkeeper was Special Summoned back onto the field in Attack Position again.
"I end my turn." Poe said,
"Woah, that's it?" CraftyCorn said, "Ok, here I go!"
CraftyCorn draws to start Turn 7.
"Only one turn down…" Poe said, "Once those pesky swords are gone after my next two turns, I'll attack her Rainbow and the rest of her Life Points…"
CraftyCorn looks at the card she drew and sets it.
"I set a card and end my turn." She said with a serious look,
"What is she doing?" Poe wondered, "I now have another card to worry about…"
Poe draws to start Turn 8. They rolled their eyes.
"A dud." They said, "I'll end my turn."
CraftyCorn then draws to start Turn 9.
"One more turn of mine to go…" Poe said, "And then I'll be able to take her down…"
CraftyCorn then revealed the card she drew.
"I activate the Spell Card, Soul Release!" She said,
"Soul Release?!" Poe said,
"That's right! This banishes 5 cards from any Graveyards!"
CraftyCorn then revealed The Weather Painters Snow, Rain, Thunder and Aurora.
"So my 4 Weather Painters currently in my Graveyard are banished while one of your White Forest monsters is gone!" CraftyCorn said,
"No way!"
CraftyCorn's Weather Painters were banished while Poe's Astellar Of The White Forest was banished as well.
"Damn it!" Poe said, "I shouldn't have used Diabellze's effect earlier!"
"Too focused on my Swords Of Revealing Light that you lost focus on Diabellze." CraftyCorn said, "That's ok."
"How is it ok?"
"Because I get to use this card!"
The Trap Card, Return From The Different Dimension was activated.
"The Trap Card, Return From The Different Dimension!" CraftyCorn replied,
"That card!" Poe said, shocked, "No, it can be!"
CraftyCorn's Life Points were halved to 300.
"By giving up half of my Life Points, I can Special Summon as many of my banished monsters as possible!" She replied, "So coming back are my Weather Painters Rain, Snow, Thunder and Aurora!"
All four of CraftyCorn's banished Weather Painters were Special Summoned back onto her field, all in Defense Position.
"And now, for another Link Summon!" CraftyCorn said, "Create the Link Circuit that opens the forbidden world of the light!"
The Link Circuit reappears.
"The summoning requirements for this Link Summon are at least 4 effect monsters!" CraftyCorn said, "So I'll use The Weather Painter Snow, Rain, Thunder and Aurora and Diabellze The Original Sinkeeper as Link Materials!"
"What?!" Poe shouted, "You're using my Diabellze as Link Material?! Impossible!"
"Anything is possible if you believe in it!"
The Weather Painters Snow, Rain, Thunder and Aurora and Diabellze The Original Sinkeeper were sent to the Top, Top Right, Right, Bottom and Bottom Right Link Arrows of the Link Circuit as they all light up red.
"Link the circuit!" CraftyCorn shouted as she started to chant, "Open the doors to the forbidden world of the light that shines my path to victory and elegance! Link Summon!"
A new monster appeared out of the Link Circuit with a spiritual monster next to her.
"Shine the forbidden light bright, Link-5, Underworld Goddess Of The Closed World!" CraftyCorn shouted,
Underworld Goddess Of The Closed World was Link Summoned in the Extra Monster Zone with 3000 ATK Points.
"Impossible…" Poe said, "A Link-5 monster that lets you use one of your opponent's monsters as Link Materials…"
CraftyCorn raised her free hoof up under a fist.
"I activate Underworld Goddess Of The Closed World's effect upon being Link Summoned!" She said, "Which negates all the effects of your monsters currently on the field! Closed Light!"
Underworld Goddess Of The Closed World then used her spiritual companion to negate the effects of Poe's monsters currently on the field. Silvera and Diabell's ATK Points were returned to normal.
"Impossible…" Poe said,
"Speechless, aren't you?" CraftyCorn wondered, "That lowered your guard as well!"
"Doesn't matter! Even if I've been drawing cards that don't help me while your Swords Of Revealing Light is on the field, I'll still hold on!"
"We'll see about that! Battle!"
The Battle Phase started again.
"Underworld Goddess Of The Closed World will attack your Diabell, Queen Of The White Forest!" CraftyCorn shouted, "Forbidden Heaven!"
Underworld Goddess Of The Closed World then attacked Diabell, Queen Of The White Forest with her light magic, destroying Diabell and dealing 500 points of damage to Poe, draining their Life Points to 2550.
"And now The Weather Painter Rainbow will attack Silvera, Wolf Tamer Of The White Forest!" CraftyCorn shouted, "Rainbow Masterpiece!"
The Weather Painter Rainbow then attacked and destroyed Silvera, Wolf Tamer Of The White Forest with rainbow paint that formed a deadly rainbow. Poe was dealt 500 more points of damage, draining their Life Points to 2050.
"I hope this was enough…" CraftyCorn said as she took a deep breath, "Now, I end my turn."
Poe sighed heavily.
"What do I do?!" They said, "I gotta call the shots right now! I draw!"
Poe draws to start Turn 10.
Turn 10
CraftyCorn: 300
Poe: 2050
Poe looked at the card they drew and sighed.
"Damn it…" They said, "It wasn't enough…"
Poe looked at CraftyCorn.
"You know what?" They said to CraftyCorn, "You're not bad. You were a better opponent than I thought you were."
Poe then puts their feathers out.
"Right, I shall end my turn." They said, "Go ahead and finish me off!"
"Oh, alright!" CraftyCorn said, "I draw!"
CraftyCorn draws to start Turn 11.
CraftyCorn looked at the card she drew and kept it in her hand for good use.
"Alright, time to battle once more!" CraftyCorn said as the Battle Phase started one more time, "Underworld Goddess will attack Diabellstar! Forbidden Heaven!"
Underworld Goddess Of The Closed World then destroyed Diabellstar with her light powers, draining 500 more points of damage to Poe, draining their Life Points to 1550.
"And now for The Weather Painter Rainbow to attack you directly and end this duel!" CraftyCorn shouted, "Rainbow Masterpiece!"
The Weather Painter Rainbow then painted another deadly rainbow that went to Poe who was defending themself. Poe lost all of their Life Points after getting hit by the rainbow. CraftyCorn won the duel as Poe's Life Points were at 0. CraftyCorn sighed heavily as she sat on the ground.
"Wow…" She said, "I actually won that duel, didn't I?"
Poe went to CraftyCorn and picked her up after the duel.
"I must say." They said, "Your dueling skills are also what made you a true friend to DogDay…"
"I know…" CraftyCorn said as she sadly sighed, "But I want to know why DogDay is acting this way all of a sudden… Why point fingers at someone that we have never seen in a while over something they've never done without any clear evidence?"
"Perhaps he just wanted to hide his real self… Or hide it back, to be exact. I can't really tell if he's a coward or not, but…"
"We gotta go catch up to Bobby! If you want to see it for yourself!"
"Hmm… Ok, follow me. Bobby BearHug… She might be dueling DogDay by now… Have they dueled before?"
"Well, they dueled last year in a tournament, Bobby won against DogDay. And when they always dueled together, Bobby always wins."
"I wouldn't be surprised if Bobby wins again… Considering her deck is challenging…"
"Believe me, it is. Anyways, follow me. I'm sure Bubba and the others will catch up to us in the meantime!"
CraftyCorn then leads the way as she and Poe went to find Bobby on where could she be with DogDay.
