A month has passed since the world went back to normal. Six chosen ones fought with Digimon to save two worlds. Little did they know that defeating the Eaters was not the end of it. A new threat has appeared in the Digital World. Now the Cyber Sleuths and their friends are on the case to save Digimon from a war. ...And new allies join them from close by and somewhere VERY far way.

93. Chapter 93: The Ultimate X

"Plasma Shot!" Magnamon fired golden orbs into a DoruGreymon. He then turned his attention to a DexDorugamon, but just before they could clash, it turned to stone and shattered. "Huh?"

Lilamon looked around as their enemies perished one by one. "What's happening?"

Jesmon stared at the sand they had all become. "They all just…"

"Does this mean…" Sistermon Blanc Awake murmured.

Gankoomon folded his arms smiling. "They did it."

Sistermon Ceil Awake hugged her sister. "We did it! We won!"

Jesmon smiled looking at the sky. "Takumi…Ami...you guys really did it." Something then caught his eye. "Huh?"

"What is it Jesmon?" Gankoomon asked.

"The sky…something's not right."

Everyone looked up. The sky started to look distorted. And that distortion started to spread. "What?!"

"What the hell is this?!" Kentorusmon asked.

Socerimon looked around. "This world is…"

Gallantmon X grimly looked at the sky. "So, is this still not over?" Beetlemon asked.

"Only one way to find out. Anyone who cannot fight retreat to Cache City! Everyone else, with me! We're heading straight for the Mountain of Infinity!"

Back in Cache City, Mirei, Mastemon, Agumon Expert, Terriermonn Assistant, Bokomon, and Doctor Datamon were looking at monitors showing the distortion. "What IS this?!" Terriermon Assistant asked.

"I don't know…" Agumon Expert replied. "This phenomenon is unlike anything I have ever seen before."

"Mirei…" Mastemon looked at her Tamer.

"I know. The distortion is becoming more and more unstable. This isn't good…did something go wrong?"

"What do we do now?" Bokomon asked.

"Mastemon and I are going for a closer look. The rest of you hold fort here." Mirei turned around as Mastemon opened a portal for them to leave in.

The giant Digimon's laugh echoed as the team looked at it in shock. "What the hell…" Arata trembled. "What even IS that?!"

"WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR GOD'S NEW FORM?" the Digimon asked. "IS IT NOT GLORIOUS?"

"I think we all share a different opinion from you on that." Yuki scowled.

"It's like a nightmare come to life." Yu gapped.

"How did this happen?!" Alphamon Oryuken asked. "The Eaters were supposed to supress your consciousness!"

"OH, IT NEARLY DID! I GOTTA HAND IT TO YOU HUMANS THAT WAS REALLY DAMN CLEVER! I WAS REALLY CONFIDENT THAT WITH THE POWER OF ARCADIAMON, ARGORMON, ALPHAMON, THE BRAVE SNATCHER, AND KING DRASIL THERE WAS NOTHING THAT COULD STOP ME. BUT AS WE ALL KNOW NOT EVEN ALPHAMON AND KING DRASIL HAVE DEFENSESS AGAINST THE EATERS. IT WAS CLOSE…IT WAS VERY CLOSE…I COULD FEAL MY CONSCIOUSNESS FADDING. BUT…THE PROGRAM DID NOT GO THROUGH. NOT BECAUSE I RESISTED IT MIND YOU. IT JUST STOPPED ON IT'S OWN."

"What?!" Keisuke asked. "Why?"

"IT'S NOT THAT STRANGE, IS IT? THE EATERS HAVE A CONSCIOUSNESS OF THEIR OWN YOU KNOW. SEEMS LIKE YOU FOOLS OVERESTIMATED THE CONTROL YOU HELD OVER THEM."

"They chose…to leave you be?" Takumi asked.

"NOT ONLY THAT, THEY UNLOCKED THE TRUE POTENTIOL OF ALPHAMON'S DNA AND X-ANTIBODY WITHIN ME! AND THANKS TO YOU PULLING LUCHE OUT OF ME, I HAVE NOTHING HOLDING ME BACK!"

"The Eaters are siding with him?!" Yuuko asked.

"SEEMS THAT WAY. PERHAPS THEY ANKOWLEDGE ME AS THE NEW GOD."

Kiryu gritted his teeth. "I knew trusting the damn things was a mistake. We just made our problem even worse!"

"NOW THEN, WHAT TO CALL THIS NEW FORM?" the Digimon looked at himself. "HMMM…I KNOW!" He cleared his throat. "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! PRESENTING YOU'RE NEW AND IMPROVED ALMIGHTY RULLER! THE GREAT CONQUER OF WORLDS AND TRUE MASTER OF THE X-ANTIBODY! ALL HAIL DEATHXMON!"

"Death..." Takumi muttered.

Keisuke's face paled. "...X…"

Cold sweat ran down Ami's. "…mon…?"

"LIKE THE NAME? I BASSED IT OFF OF THE TRUTH OF THE X-ANTIBODY! WHAT IT WAS CREATED FOR! A RESULT OF THE X PROGRAM!"

"You know about the X Program?" Alphamon Oryuken asked. "I thought we buried all evidence of that deeply…"

"OH, I DID MY RESEARCH."

"X Program?" Ami asked. "What's this about Alphamon?"

"Many, many years ago, before I became a Royal Knight, there was a previous Digital World."

"A previous Digital World?" Himari asked.

Kiryu remembered something. "That's right…Leopardmon mentioned something about that. He said the X-Antibody was a means of surviving that world's annihilation."

"In that Digital World…there were two King Drasils." Alphamon explained.

"Two of them?" Hudiemon asked.

"Yes. Both monitored the old Digital World as life spread through it. But one day the Digimon began to overpopulate the world." Alphamon closed her eyes lowering her sword as he arms slackened. "The two kings searched for a means of saving the world. In the end…they each found a different solution. One King Drasil, wanted to create a second Digital World, and divide the two Digimon between the two. With each one being watched by one of the two kings. The other King Drasil however…did not want that. Instead, it wanted to create a program that would exterminate half of the Digimon in the Digital World."

"That's awful…" Sayo muttered.

"So, what did they do?" Fei asked.

"The kings argued." Alphamon replied. "For the first time in their existence. In the end, they both went through with their separate plans without the acknowledgment of the other. One started creating a new Digital World. The other created its program to erase half of the Digimon in the other."

"And that was the X Program." Ami replied.

"Correct." Everyone noticed a portal open and Mastemon flew out of it with Mirei on her shoulder.

"Mirei!" Takuto gasped as everyone turned to them.

Mirei looked at DeathXmon. "This…could very well be the worst-case scenario we've found ourselves in."

"So, the X Program was a means of keeping the Digimon population under control." Ryuji said.

Mirei nodded. "However…the X Program grew more powerful then the King Drasil calculated. Instead of just half it erased nearly all of the Digimon in the old Digital World."

"THE POOR KING TRIED TO STEP IN AND STOP IT ITSELF." DeathXmon said. "ONLY FOR THE PROGRAM TO OVERTAKE IT. MUCH LIKE WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE LAST KING AND THOSE EATERS OF YOURS."

"The other King Drasil knew the X Program had to be stopped." Alphamon Oryuken said. "So, it created a program that could counter the X Program."

"You mean the X-Antibody?" Takumi asked. "I guess that explains the name."

"It's a program that alters a Digimon's DigiCore, making it unrecognizable to the X Program. Therefore, rendering it harmless to a Digimon. The other King Drasil gathered the surviving Digimon and waged war against the King Drasil consumed by the X Program…by the end of it all, all but 98% of Digimon were eliminated. And the old Digital World was completely erased. But the X Program was finally eliminated. The surviving King Drasil took the few survivors and started raising Digimon anew, in this Digital World."

"That's so sad…" Keisuke murmured.

"To think another King Drasil would be the cause of the Digital World's destruction…" Mameo said. "I'm starting to see why this worlds King Drasil felt the need to create Digimon capable of destroying it."

"MAKES THE WHOLE THING WITH THE EATERS LOOK LIKE A PICNIC DOSEN'T IT?" DeathXmon asked. "THIS IS WHAT THE X-ANTIBODY TRULLY REPRESENTS. A REMINDER OF ARMAGEDON! THE REMAINS OF WAR AND DESTRUCTION! A SYMBOL OF DEATH!"

"Wrong!" Alphamon Oryuken pointed her sword forward. "The X-Antibody was created to save! To protect! To provide a guiding light when all else seems lost! It represents hope!"

"OH, OF COURSE YOU'D POTRAY IT AS A MIRICLE THAT SAVES WORLDS. OR ARE YOU REALLY JUST PRAISING YOURSELF? AS THE FIRST DIGIMON CREATED WITH AN X-ANTIBODY INSIDE HER?"

"Alphamon was the first?" Yuugo asked.

"She wasn't the first Digimon King Drasil gave the X-Antibody too mind you." Mirei said. "But as you all know by now, Digimon who don't naturally have an X-Antibody evolve into new forms when given one." Everyone looked at Digimon in the crowd such as Rapidmon Amror X, Rosmeon X, and HerculesKabuterimon X. "But some species of Digimon naturally have the X-Antibody. Our dear Alphamon was the very first Dodomon. And the first Digimon to naturally come with an X-Antibody."

"King Drasil wanted me to represent new evolution for Digimon." Alphamon Oryuken said. "A new chapter. Hence when I became strong enough to take this form, I was given the title Alphamon."

"AND NOW LOOK WHAT YOU'VE BECOME." DeathXmon scoffed. "A LAZY HERMIT THAT FAILS HER DUTIES AND PAWNS THEM OFF TO CHILDREN SO SHE CAN HIDE IN A HUMAN BODY AND DRINK HORRENDOUS COFFEE ALL DAY. HOW THE MIGHTY HAVE FALLEN. I GUESS YOU LET ALL THAT "HOPE" CRAP GO STRAIGHT TO YOUR ROYAL HEAD, HUH?"

"Says the guy who's trying to pose as some kind of god!" Shiki retorted.

"I AM NOT POSING AS A GOD. I AM A GOD!" DeathXmon raised his head and howled blowing the group back with the soundwave.

"Such force…" Kiryu grunted. "From just a roar…?"

Keisuke grunted. "He's even stronger then Ogudamon and Haulongmon..."

"Guys, this is seriously looking bad…" Chitoste said.

"What do we do now?" Mameo asked looking at Mirei. "What CAN we do now?"

"Himari, Rikka, come over here." Takuto said.

"Uh, sure…" Himari said as her Digimon flew to the side of Takuto's. "You have a plan?"

"Sort of. Luche, get on with Himari."

"Huh? But-

"Just go Luche. Don't worry."

"…Okay…" Luche jumped from Omni to Rikka.

"Sis, you get on your Digimon too."

"R-right." When Faye flew up Shiki jumped onto her Digimon.

"Omni…" Takuto faced DeathXmon.

"I know." Omni got into a fighting position as Takuto closed his eyes. "DeathXmon!" The Tamer and Digimon spoke together. "We don't care if the Eaters do side with you, how powerful you become, or what your reasons are! No world deserves to suffer your cruel design! We will defeat you and protect everyone's right to live freely!"

"Takuto!" Himari gasped.

DeathXmon laughed. "THAT'S MY ARCHE NEMESIS FOR YOU. NEVER GIVING UP. EVEN WHEN THERE IS LITERALY NO HOPE."

Shiki smiled then Matrix Linked with Faye. "If we learned anything during this war, it's that there's always hope! We'll never stop fighting for those in need!"

Takumi closed his eyes linking with Rapidmon Armor X. "That's right. We promised our friends we would protect this world. And we'll see that promise through."

Ami linked with Rosemon X. "We didn't defeat Leopardmon and the Next Order just to watch you take their place! We will stop you!"

Keisuke linked with HerculesKabuterimon X. "And after we do away with you, we'll fulfill our dream for the future! A future of humans with Digimon!"

The rest of the team watched behind him. "How can they all be so confident…" Yu trembled. "Just looking at that thing is making me shake…"

"Courage is a complex element. It comes differently for different people. It shows differently for different people." Kyoko said.

"Yeah…to be honest…I'm pretty scared myself." Yukina smiled still recording with her Digivice seemingly calmly.

"Really?" Kouta asked looking at her. "You seem pretty calm to me."

"Maybe I just don't want to start shaking while recording the spectacle before me. When you're a reporter who's been recording things for as long as I have, you learn some tricks to keep your nerves under control for the sake of getting a clear shot."

"This woman is crazy." Satome muttered.

"I dunno." Yuki smirked. "If we don't stop this, everything and everyone we care about is going kaput anyway. How can I be afraid when my options are fight to the end or wait for it?"

"Heh. Reed my mind kid." Beelzemon X pointed his guns forward. "Hell, I already died once. It really ain't that scary. Not compared to losing everything."

Beelstarmon X grinned. "You're an idiot sometimes brother. But you're not wrong. If I'm dying today, I'll be dying on my feet."

Venusmon smiled. "I do not wish to back away either. There are so many innocent youths counting on me."

"IN CASE YOU'VE FORGOTTEN I'M NOT PLANNING TO KILL EVERYONE." DeathXmon said. "WHAT I SEEK IS TO CONTROL."

"Oh yeah?" Fei and Sakuyamon X asked with Matrix Link. "Well, some of us would rather die then suffer a world controlled by you."

"That's right." Yuuko and Samudramon Fierce Blade Mode spoke. "A life controlled by someone...where free will is a lie...is not a life worth living!"

"We fought this hard for a Digital World where everyone can choose their own fate!" Shoma and Noir said.

"And we didn't come this far just for you to take that away!" Mameo and Infinity shouted.

"We all swore our oaths before coming here." Yuugo and Craniamon X said. "You won't stop us from seeing them through!"

"We have seen enough tyranny in both worlds." Kiryu and Omegamon Alter-S added. "I...we will exterminate any who try to seize control over others!"

"That's right..." Himari said before closing her eyes and speaking with her Digimon. "We can't just give up! We've come so far together!"

"Yeah!" Nokia nodded before linking with Omegamon Merciful Mode. "We'll see this through to the end together!"

Yukimura held his Dynas forward while linked with Kouta. "You're twisted games end here Malevolent Fist!"

Diaboromon X stepped forward with Arata linked to him. "Yeah, the odds are against us. But when has that ever stopped us? We'll still kick your ass."

"We will say it again." GraceNovamon, Koh, and Sayo said. "We made promises that we intend to keep! We will defeat you and see this world liberated before returning to our own!"

"Wow. They're all fired up." Chitoste said.

"Yeah. That Takuto kid just started talking and everyone stood up with him." Ryuji said.

Yu looked at Keisuke and clenched his fist. "Well...I'm still kinda scared but...if you're going to keep fighting Keisuke, then so will I!"

"Heh. Guess we're in this too." Chitoste said.

Ryuji smiled. "You're right. It's like I told Keisuke. If one of us is in this, then so are the rest. I already accepted the risks."

Mirei giggled. "Seems everyone has decided."

"Yeah." Hudiemon nodded. "Nobody here will accept this monster as a God!"

Koyo smiled at the humans and their Digimon before looking Alphamon in the eye. The detective closed her eyes and they spoke. "Judgment has passed Malevolent Fist. Bow to my-our will!" Alphamon Oryuken held up her blade.

DeathXmon laughed. "YOU PLEBEIANS WANT TO BRING JUDGMENT ONTO A GOD?! HA, HA, HA, HA! YOU COULD NOT STOP ME WHEN I WAS JUST A TREE BEING HELD BACK BY LUCHE! WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOU HAVE ANY HOPE OF DEFEATING ME NOW?!"

"We will stop you." Takuto and Omni said. "Just as we always do."

"YOU'RE WELCOME TO TRY."

"This is it everyone!" Takumi and Rapidmon Armor X said. "Our final battle! Let's end this and save both our worlds!" The Digimon all charged. "Rapid Blaster!" Rapidmon Armor X and Takumi fired into the beast. DeathXmon laughed at the attack that did nothing making them gasp. He then swatted them like flies.

"Thorn Whip!"

"Fly Bullet!" BeelStarmon X shot at DeathXmon as Rosemon X and Ami whipped him.

"OH, WAIT, ARE WE STARTING?" The monster joked.

"Let's see how smug you are after this!" Fei and Sakuyamon X yelled. Their staff glowed as they flew at DeathXmon and they stabbed it into him. "Amathyst Mandala!" A burst of lift enveloped them. Nobody could see what happened, but a shriek was heard before Sakuyamon X was tossed into BeelStarmon X.

Rosemon X and Ami glowed red. "Overclock!" Red light coated their whips and spun in place before swinging them at DeathXmon. "Rosen Blood!" DeathXmon snapped two giant fingers and both whips did a u turn and tied up Sakuyamon X and BeelStarmon X. "Huh?!"

A orb of black energy formed in front of DeathXmon. "NIGHTMARE X!" He fired it at the girls.

Venusmon and MarineAngemon flew in front of them and held their arms out. "Safety Guard!" They summoned a barrier that caught the attack, but it didn't last long before the dark orb broke it and exploded on all of them.
The Digimon holding Samudramon Fierce Blade Mode, and Diaboromon X threw them straight at the monster. "Kikurin Thunder Slash!" Samudramon Fierce Blade Mode's sword sparkled with electricity as he crashed into DeathXmon's right arm and tried to stab it, but the blade would not pierce.

"Catastrophe Cannon!" Diaboromon X fired at DeathXmon as he aproached before coiling onto his arm. "Spooky Zapper!"

Even as electricity flowed onto DeathXmon's arm he just glanced at Diaboromon X and Samudramon Fierce Blade Mode. "MY, THE BUGS AROUND HERE SURE ARE NOISY." He flicked both of them off his arm.

Alphamon Oryuken flew straight at him. "Ultimate Oryuken!"

"Horn Buster Revision!" HerculesKabuterimon X charged

DeathXmon reeled back a fist. "MACH RUSH X!" His fist glowed white as it flew at the two. Alphamon Oryuken's blade and HerculesKabuterimom X's horn slammed against DeathXmon's fingers before they went flying.

"Keisuke!" Yu shouted.

"Please tell me the strongest Digimon in Hudie wasn't just clobbered in one hit." Chitoste gulped.

"Mastemon, it seems we will need to get directly involved." Mirei said. "If we don't stop this, the disaster that will come will be greater than anything we have ever seen!"

"Agreed. This is a crisis we cannot afford to overlook." Mastemon flew up to DeathXmon. Holding out her hands, white light gathered in one palm and black light in the other. She combined them into one orb. "Chaos Degradation!" She threw the orb at DeathXmon and it burst in brilliant light. But then a black whip flew up and coiled around Mastemon.

DeathXmon laughed as Mastemon tried in vain to break free. "NO WOUNDER YOU'RE ALWAYS RELYING ON KIDS MIREI! THEY MAY NOT BE AS SMART AS YOU. BUT AT LEAST THEY AREN'T SO DAMN WEAK!" The whip slammed Mastemon to the ground.

"Got you now!" DeathXmon then took note that Rikka had gotten behind him. "Apocalypse!" She exploded with holy light, but he didn't seem to react or even care. "W-what...?"

The four different Omegamon were slashing at DeathXmon and firing at him as they had been doing for a while now. "Has he even noticed us?!" Omegamon Merciful Mode and Nokia shouted.

"I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't." Noir and Shoma growled. "I don't see a single mark on him."

"OH, I'VE NOTICED." DeathXmon replied. "HEY, WHILE YOU KIDS ARE AT IT, CAN YOU TRY THAT ON MY UPPER BACK? EVEN WE GODS GET ITCHES IN PLACES WE CAN'T REACH."

"Enough jokes you monster!" Shiki and Faye flew at him and bloomed their spear. "Gran del Sol!" A burning hot blast fired at DeathXmon, but he easily tanked it.

"OH! I FELT THAT ONE. DO ANOTHER COUPLE THOUSAND OF THISE AND I MIGHT GET A BAD SUNBURN! AND SPEAKING OF BURNS..." Red fire gathered into a sphere in front of him. "BURST FLAME X!"
"Shiki!" Takuto and Omni flew in front of Faye with the Brave Sheild held out to block the attack, but the explosion hit both Digimon.

"Takuto! Shiki!" Kouta roared as the mark on the knight's chest glowed. "Final Crest!" A beam fired at DeathXmon but it did nothing. They charged at him holding Dynas forward. "Rage of Wyvern!" A green dragon formed around them as they advanced towards their foe.

DeathXmon smacked the dragon destroying it and knocking Yukimura aside. "WELL KID, LET IT NEVER BE SAID YOU DON'T TRY."

"It's not over yet!" Ryuji shouted as Justimon charged with him and Chitoste close behind on ChaosGallantmon.

Yuki activated a AGL Boost. "Come on Beelzemon, we gotta help them out!"

"I know damnit." Beelzemon X held his guns forward. "Seventh Full Cluster!"

The giant red beam flew against DeathXmon's head. "Justice Kick!" Justimon kicked against his skull but bounced off him without doing any damage. "Justice Burst!" He fired white pellets at him, but that didn't do him any more harm. DeathXmon then flicked him away.

"Demonic Disaster!" ChaosGallantmon thrusted his lance at DeathXmon repeatedly.

"NANOMACHINE BREAK X!" DeathXmon zapped ChaosGallantmon sending him and the boys crashing onto the dirt. Beelzemon X shouted as he swooped in punching DeathXmon in the face. DeathXmon rammed his skull into him blowing the Deadly Digimon and Yuki down too.

"Brother!" Satome and BeelStarmon X shouted before the female gunslinger opened fire on DeathXmon.

Vunusmon flew up next to then and held her hand forward. "Peace Fantasia!" Her bird Olive flew into DeathXmon like a sharp gale, but didn't do any more damage then BeelStarmon X's bullets.

"SONIC VOID X!" Venusmon, BeelStarmon X and Satome looked around them as sharp winds swirled around before they were trapped in a vortex of wind. The girls cried put in pain before they were roughly tossed to the ground.

"Damn you!" Kiryu and Omegamon Alter-S charged at DeathXmon next.

"HOLY LIGHT X!"

Holy energy gathered around Kiryu and his Digimon. "Skip Frame!" The two instantly moved in front of DeathXmon just as the attack exploded behind them. "Transcendent Cannon!" They fired at DeathXmon as they continued to approach. "Supreme Sword!" They rushed at him and swung their blade at DeathXmon repeatedly.

A roar blew them away and DeathXmon prepared another attack. "HOLY LIGHT X!"

"Freeze Frame!" Kiryu and his Digimon tried to use their other program to stop DeathXmon but he did not pause. They gasped in shock before they were blasted by a powerful light.

DeathXmon laughed. "TOO BAD BROTHER SORROW! IT SEEMS THE FORBIDEN PROGRAMS ARE USLESS AGAINST SOMEONE WHO VASTLY OVERPOWERS YOUR DIGIMON!" Noir and Shoma charged at him from behind only to get batted aside by a wing into Rikka.
"Hyper Infinity Cannon!" Infinity fired at him, but DeathXmon whacked him away, then Omni when he aproached.

Hudiemon flew up to him and glowed blue. "Infinity Dream!"

DeathXmon just stared at the glow. "YAWN."

Hudiemon grunted as she pulled up a monitor and then glowed red. "Overclock!"

"OH WOW, NOW YOUR BLUE BORING LIGHT SHOW IS A RED BORING LIGHT SHOW." DeathXmon summoned another whip that lashed Hudiemon's feet together and slammed her into Keisuke who was charging in on HerculesKabuterimon X to help her knocking him off his Digimon.

"Keisuke!" Yu shouted in fear.

MarineAngemon flew up and made a giant heart shaped bubble that caught Keisuke who was holding onto Hudiemon. "Whew. Thanks, pal." Keisuke said as they were lowered gently to the ground.

GraceNovamon charged into him but bounced off his skull. They then held their arms out. "Calydon Arcus!" Their glowing blades flew out and slashed at DeathXmon.

The monster did seem to react to it. But then with a roar it knocked the blades away. "OUCH, THAT ACTUALLY HURT ME! YOU KIDS SHOULD KNOW BETTER THEN TO PLAY WITH SHARP OBJECTS!"

GraceNovamon growled as their blades returned. But then gasped as they saw that the swords had cracks and chips coming off them. "Impossible...!"

"HA, HA, HA, HA! NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR A GOD!" He held up his hands. "GRAND ROCK X!" He smashed GraceNovamon between two stalagmites coming from his palms. The Digimon and their two Tamers screamed in pain before they were released. GraceNovamon's armor was covered in cracks and scratches, and Sayo and Koh had patches of dirt on them and slight tears across their clothes. The two slowly tipped backwards off of their Digimon as they also started to fall.

"Sayo! Koh!" Rapidmon Armor X and Rosemon X flew in and caught the two Tamers. Infinity, HerculesKabuterimom X, Omegamon Merciful Mode and Mastemon caught GraceNovamon and gently lowered them to the ground where Takumi and Ami's Digimon put them down. Everyone gathered around them.

"Are they okay?!" Luche asked.

"Sayo!" Ami shook the girl.
Takumi did the same for the boy. "Come on, say something!"

The Tamers winced as they opened their eyes. "Too...strong..." Sayo whimpered.

Koh coughed. "Isn't...even trying...and we can't even...make a dent..."

"Don't talk." Takumi said.

"They're right though." Yuki said. "This clearly isn't working. There's no way in hell we can defeat him if we can't even damage him."

DeathXmon chuckled. "OF COURSE NOT. A GOD CANNOT BE HARMED BY HUMANS. HOW SAD. ALL THAT DEDICATION. ALL THAT EFFORT TO SAVE THIS WORLD. AND IN THE END, YOU WILL DIE IN VAIN FIGHTING A BATTLE YOU CANNOT WIN ALONE."

Everyone stared up at DeathXmon. "Sheild of the Just!" A burst of light flew overhead of the team and hit DeathXmon. "The only one fighting alone is you!"

The team looked up and behind them to see Gallantmon X with the remaining knights. "It's Gallantmon and the others!" Nokia gleamed.

"Heh. It's not just us." Magnamon said.

The sounds of a large-scale march brought everyone's attention behind them, and they saw the largest army of Digimon. "Wow..." Kouta murmured. "That's a huge army…"

Yukino made sure she was still recording as the army got close. Some of them broke ranks and ran ahead to greet their friends. "Is everyone alright?!" Lilamon asked. "Where's Darcmon?!"

"I'm right here, Lilamon."

Darcmon, Grizzlymon and Lilamon did a take looking at Venusmon. "Darcmon?!" Dinohumon gasped. "Did you Digivolve? When did that happen?"

"Not to long ago. A gift from my new partner." Venusmon smiled to Yukino.

"I guess working well with Digimon runs in the family."

"BeelStatmon? Beelzemon?" Gundramon aproached.

MagnaKidmon whistled. "Like the new look."

"Thanks." BeelStarmon X replied. "We also got a boost from our new human friends here."

Agunimon and Lobomon ran up to Omegamon Alter-S. "Kiryu, are you alright?"

"More or less…"

"Oh? You know these two Kiryu?" Satome asked. "Are they also your Digimon?"

"No…it's a long story."

MirageGaogamon Burst Mode looked up at DeathXmon. "Is this our new foe?"

"We took Luche back from the Malevolent Tree." Mameo explained. "But then it evolved into DeathXmon."

Magnamon narrowed his gaze. "This power..."

"WELCOME MY SUBJECTS!" DeathXmon laughed. "HAVE YOU COME TO KNEEL BEFORE YOUR NEW GOD? I DO HOPE YOU'RE NOT PLANNING TO DO SOMETHING IDIOTIC LIKE REBEL AGAINST ME. AS THOSE HUMANS DOWN THERE CAN VOUCH FOR, THAT IS NOT A GOOD IDEA."

Gallantmon X stepped forward. "You are no God. You are a parasite infesting this world and prying on the innocent."

"We already had to deal with one psycho tyrant here, we don't need another!" Sistermon Ceil Awake added.

"YOU WOULD ALL REBEL AGAINST ME? EVEN THOUGH I HAVE BECOME THE NEW LAW OF YOUR WORLD?"

"This world is about freedom." Gankoomon said. "About the will to survive. Taking power and using it to rob others of their freedom...you will never be accepted as our leader!"

"We fought hard to defeat the Next Order and take back the Digital World!" Agunimon said. "We won't hand it over to you without a fight!"

Gallantmon X descended to the ground. "We have united here today because we want to fix this world that was damaged by both human and Digimon hands. Though the matter may have decided us before we now stand together so that we can see a day where the suffering we have been through can be put behind us. And that is why...we all stand here to take back what is ours. And why you will not control us!" He held out his arms and all the Digimon behind him let put a war cry.

"THIS IS YOUR ANSWER? VERY WELL THEN...LET US SEE IF I CAN CHANGE YOUR MINDS...BY BREAKING YOUR SPIRITS!"

Gallantmon X held up his lance. "This is it my comrades! Today we end this war or fall together trying!" He pointed his weapon forward. "Charge!" All the Digimon shouted rushing at DeathXmon.

"Everyone..." Nokia murmured watching them pass.

"Gallantmon has done a wonderful job uniting the Digimon." Ami smiled.

"No." Alphamon Oryuken replied. "You humans have also helped them see past their tunnel vision to remind them that we all want the same thing. This is proof of your bond with Digimon."

GraceNovamon grunted sitting up. "But...even with everyone...against that monster..."

Kentorusmon was the first to attack. "Odin's Breath!"

Kazemon flew up and shot wind from her hands. "Hurricane Wave!"

DEATHXMON stood inside the tornado idly. "WOW, SURE IS WINDY TODAY." He raised a hand and flicked Kentaurosmon away.

"The storm is just getting started!" Beetlemon said generating thunder from his horn. "Lightning Blitz!"

UlforceVeedramon shot a golden V. "The Ray of Victory!"

Kazemon flew at DeathXmon and turned around. "Carino Anca!" She hip-checked DeathXmon and yelped at the impact. "Okay, bad idea..."

DeathXmon roared blowing his attackers away. "Jesmon! Blanc! Ceil! Together!" Gankoomon ordered running up with his apprentices.

"Yes master!"

Gankoomon and the Sistermon jumped onto Jesmon's hand, and he tossed them upward. "Quake! Blast! Fire! Father!"

"Judgment of The Blade!"

"Devine Peirce!"

"Fury Fire!" Sistermon Ceil Awake and Blanc Awake spun into the air and then started firing at DeathXmon while Gankoomon punched him with fiery fists and Jesmon slashed him.

DeathXmon charged up another attack. "GAIA ELEMENT X!"

"Protect Wave!"

"Weiglist!" Jesmon and Blanc prepared a barrier, but it was instantly destroyed by the force of the attack.

Many other Digimon were attacking the base of the body below. DeathXmon slammed his hand atop a bunch of them, instantly crushing them and blowing away those close to the impact. "No...!" Shiki whimpered. Those who fell over got up and charged again.

"Lightning Joust!" Gallantmon X charged at DeathXmon who rose a hand to block the attack.

"I SERIOUSLY DON'T GET YOU FOOLS. I MEAN REALLY, YOU KNOW YOU CAN'T WIN WHEN THOSE STRONGER THAN YOU FAILED. WHY FIGHT WHEN YOU KNOW YOU'LL FAIL?"

"Maybe, maybe not." Gallantmon X replied. "But there are some things that mean more then life and death! My mission...my comrades...my principles...Leopardmon threw all that away to spite mankind! But I would sooner die then take that path! I won't betray those who sacrificed for what we believed in! To abandon all that would mean the end of the true me!" Gallantmon X backed away and his lance glowed. "I will stand until the end...for what I believe is true! Zeig Saber!" His lance extended a beam of light against DeathXmon's skull.

"PATHETIC." DeathXmon shattered the light lance then headbutted Gallantmon X smashing him into the ground.

"Gallantmon!" Omegamon shouted.

Red energy gathered in DeathXmon's mouth. He shot a laser that burned across the ground and tore through a good chunk of the army. "Damnit." Ryuji growled while Venusmon was healing the Digimon with them. "Those idiots have heart but they're all gonna get themselves killed at this rate..."

"We can't just sit on the sidelines!" Takuto shouted. "We gotta do something!"

"So, what's the plan here?" Yu asked. "Please tell me we have one..."

"I don't know if any form of planning can be applied here..." Mirei replied. "The Malevolent Tree had a weakness we could exploit...and we had an ace in the hole against it. But DeathXmon has no exploits. And our ace in the hole has betrayed us...I cannot think of any options over then brute force."

"Brute force has already failed us." Kiryu said. "We already hit it with everything we have!"

"No..." Keisuke said. "Not everything."

Everyone looked at him. "Keisuke?" Ryuji asked. "What are you...?"

"Hudiemon, give Kiryu, Sayo, and Koh the Overclock program."

"Okay."

"What are you planning?" Yuugo asked.

"Two things that we have that have seen us through many problems are the Matrix Link and the Overclock program. Both give our Digimon a large increase in strength."

"I see." Kyoko said. "Your plan is to use both at once."

"Yeah. Giving our Digimon all of our strength and working alongside them. That's when we are at our best."

Everyone smiled and nodded. "You're right Keisuke." Ami said. "Try our best and try together. That's what we gotta do."

"Okay." Takumi said. "Let's do this!"

Hudiemon closed a monitor. "Done. Kiryu, Sayo, Koh, you should now be able to use Overclock. Just be careful, it will drain through your stamina very fast with Matrix Link."

Keisuke kept a straight face. "All or nothing then." He, Takumi, Ami, Takuto, Shiki, Nokia, Arata, Yuuko, Yuugo, Kyoko, Fei, Kiryu, Himari, Kouta, Mameo, Shoma, Koh, and Sayo hurried back onto their Digimon.

"Please be careful everyone..." Yukino said watching them leave.

Agunimon was flying on a Airdramon's back as it flew past DeathXmon. "Pyro Darts!" He threw fire at him to no effect.

"S-Gold Solor Beam!" Magnamon exploded in light that didn't even phase DeathXmon. All it did was leave the Royal Knight open for a giant punch. Energy gathered in his hand as he prepared to attack again.

"Ultimate Oryuken!" A glowing red Alphamon with Kyoko closing her eyes rushed up and deflected his hand.

DeathXmon looked rather amused. "OH?"

"That did something." Ami and Rosemon X said as the others all flew up.

"Everyone, get back!" Kouta and Yukimura ordered. "We're finishing this."

"STILL GOT SOME FIRE IN YOU? GOOD! VERY GOOD! SHOW ME ONE LAST STRUGGLE! LET'S SEE YOU GO OUT WITH A BANG!"

"Oh, there will be a bang alright!" Keisuke and HerculesKabuterimon X growled.

"And someone's about to go!" Takumi and Rapidmon Armor X shouted. "This is it! Hit him with everything you have!"

The Overclocked Digimon spread out in front of DeathXmon. "What are they doing?" Ranamon asked.

"They're generating an awful amount of power…" Leomon said. "If they're not careful this could be their end…"

"This is it everyone…" Alphamon Oryuken and Kyoko said. "On my mark…" They all got into fighting stances and breathed deep. "NOW! Ultimate Oryuken!" Alphamon Oryuken and Kyoko swung the blade leaving a golden wave.

"Eclipse Finger!" Koh, Sayo, and GraceNovamon held their hands forward and fired powerful beams of light.

"Supreme Sword! Transcendent Cannon!" Kiryu and Omegamon Alter-S along with Shoma and Noir swung their blades then fired their cannons.

"Uka no Mitama!" Fei and Sakuyamon X sent their spirits forward.

"Hyper Infinity Cannon!" Infinity and Mameo shot twin gold beams.

"Grand Gríðr!" Yuugo and Craniamon X swung their arms as the knight's arm blades flew off.

"Binding Whirlwind!" Samudramon Fierce Blade Mode and Yuuko spun their sword rapidly and summoned a tornado that swept forward.

"Final Crest!" Yukimura and Kouta shot a shinning symbol.

"Abyss Rewind 13!" Diaboromon X and Arata unleashed a violet glow.

"Fire Tornado!" Himari and Rikka shot a tornado of holy fire.

"Fearsome Blade! Graceful Cannon!" Nokia and Omegamon Merciful Mode held both hands forward and fired their cannon and extended their sword.

"Giga Blaster!" Keisuke and HerculesKabuterimon shot a golden beam.

"Gran del Sol!" Shiki and Faye shot a solar blast.

"Rosemon Blood!" Rosemon X and Ami glowed red shooting their whips.

"Supreme Cannon!" Omni and Takuto fired their cannon then spun drawing his blade. "Transcendent Sword!" They shot a wave of fire from it.

The Armed Arms came off Rapidmon Armor X as he and Takumi held their hands out. "Billion Bullet!" They and their weapons fired a volley of gold beams and pellets.

One by one the attacks collided with DeathXmon generating multiple explosions. Everyone other then the attacks were pushed slightly backwards from the resulting force. "Wowzers!" Grumblemon gapped.

"Amazing…" Grizzlymon murmured. "I had no idea humans has this much potential to share with Digimon…"

Mirei eyes the resulting dust cloud. "…Something's wrong."

Yu looked at her. "What do you mean?"

"PROCESS F." Multiple red spikes rose from the ground hitting all the Digimon that attacked DeathXmon. Their linked partners shared their immense pain.

"Gah!" Keisuke's eyes were wide. "You've…got to be…kidding me…!"

DeathXmon dispelled the cloud with a wave of his arms and laughed. "HA, HA, HA, HA! WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT! YOU ACTUALLY MANAGED TO DO SOME SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE THERE! I FELT THAT ONE!"

"This…monster…" Kiryu weakly grunted. "Ugh…" The heavily damaged Digimon slowly lowered to the ground.

"DeathXmon…" Momeo spoke. "He's even stronger…then we thought…"

"No…" Alphamon Oryuken winced from her knees. "It's all of us…who are weak…"

DeathXmon looked down at her. "OH HO! FIGURED IT OUT, DID YOU? I GUESS WHILE YOU FAILED AS A ROYAL KNIGHT YOU DO MAKE FOR A DECENT DETECTIVE AT LEAST."

"So that's what's happening!" Mirei gasped.

"What are you…talking about…?" Nokia groaned.

"Mirei, what the hell is going on?!" Yukino asked.

"DeathXmon has already deeply integrated with this Digital World! He's basically become the very nature of it! He can alter this reality with his thoughts!"

"So, he's using that control to make sure everyone stays weaker than him?!" Satome asked. "That's cheating!"

"HA! CHEATING? SINCE WHEN DOES A GOD NEED TO FOLLOW RULES?!" DeathXmon scoffed. "YOU FOOLS NEVER HAD A CHANCE AGAINST ME IN THE FIRST PLACE! NOTHING IN ANY WORLD CAN MATCH THE POWER OF THE ULTIMATE GOD!"

"Say what you want…" Takuto glared. "As long as we draw breath…as long as there are people who wish for free will to matter…"

"You won't…have your way!" Shiki declared.

DEATHXMON LOOKED AT THE DIGIMON SURROUNDING HIM. "TURE, TRUE. YOU ALL HAVE MADE IT VERY CLEAR THAT NO MATTER WHAT I DO YOU WILL STAND AGAINST ME. SO NEW PLAN FOLKS! I'M NOT GONNA CONQUER THIS EDEN/DIGITAL WORLD!"

"Wait, you aren't?" Yu asked.

"Okay, good!" Kumamon smiled.

"INSTEED I'M GONNA ERASE ALL OF IT!"

Kumamon's smile disappeared. "Okay, not good."

"What?!" Venusmon gasped.

"WHY SO SURPRISED? IF THIS WORLD IS FULL OF IDIOTS WHO WILL REBEL AGAINST ME, WHY BOTHER WITH IT? THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER WORLDS OUT THERE FOR ME TO CONQUER ANYWAY. SO, I'LL JUST DESTROY THIS WORLD AND MOVE ON TO THE NEXT! I COULD ALWAYS RECREATE THIS WORLD LATER IF I FEEL LIKE IT JUST AS THE KING DRASILS DID. BLAME YOURSELVES FOR YOURS STUPID RESISTIANCE!"

Ami's eyes widened. "You…!"

"No…!" Takumi glared.

"There's no way…" Shiki clenched her fists.

"We'll ever…!" Takuto rose his head.

Nokia looked at them. "Huh?"

Takumi, Ami, Takuto and Shiki closed their eyes. "LET YOU WIN!" They shouted with their Digimon and charged at DeathXmon.

"Stop!" Mameo shouted.

Before they could get close, DeathXmon slammed the four Digimon and their Tamers between his hands. "PROCESS 0." There was a humming sound from his hands followed by screams.

"NO!" Luche screamed. "Takuto! Shiki!"

Yukino's eyes trembled. "Takumi! Ami!"

After DeathXmon separated his hands, Takumi, Ami, Takuto and Shiki fell from the sky with their Digimon. Rapidmon Armor X, Omni, and Faye all had cracks and missing chunks in their armor, and Rosemon's cape and clothing were full of holes. Digimon rushed in for their friends. Samudramon Fierce Blade Mode caught Rapidmon Armor X, and Yuuko caught Takumi. Diaboromon X caught Rosemon X, and Arata caught Ami. Omni landed on Rikka's back as Himari and Luche caught Takuto, and Noir caught Faye while Shoma caught Shiki. None of the heroes or their Digimon seemed conscious. "Takuto, wake up!" Luche yelped shaking her friend's hand.

"Are they okay?!" Kouta asked.

Arata shook Ami, but she didn't react. "I think they're out cold…"

"No…" Tears welled up in Yuuko's eyes.

"I FINALLY DEFEATED TAKUTO AND SHIKI." DeathXmon said. "ODD. I THOUGHT I'D BE HAPPIER ABOUT IT. WAS I EXPECTING MORE OF A CHALLENGE? OR MAYBE I FEEL EMPTY WITHOUT AN ARCH NEMISIS. AH, WHATEVER. THERE ARE MANY WORLDS OUT THERE. I CAN FIND A NEW CHALLANGER."

"You son of a…!" Omegamon Alter-S growled.

"AND NOW…" DeathXmon held up out his hands and lifted his head upward. A purple light flew up into the sky. "IT IS TIME FOR THIS WORLD TO END! BY THE POWER OF CHORONO, BAGRAMON, AND KING DRASIL, I AS YOUR GOD ORDER ALL…TO DISSAPEAR!"

"What is he doing…?" Lobomon asked.

"Sis…" Sistermon Blanc Awake held onto to Ceil. "I'm scared…"

"In you're evolved form?" Sistermon Ceil Awake asked hugging Blanc. "That's new…and definitely not a good sign."

The spark exploded into a giant pool of black miasma hovering over everyone. "W-what is that?!" Gundramon asked.

"Happy Bullet Showering!" MagnaKidmon fired into the miasma, but the bullets vanished into the pool. "What?!"

The giant ceiling of goo started to lower towards everyone. "Oh, no." Yuki shivered.

"Oblivion Cannon!"

"Bifrost!" One by one every Digimon that could still move attacked the incoming miasma, but it swallowed up every attack.

"Is this…how it all ends…?" Yuugo asked.

"Not like this…" Fei shivered.

Kiryu shut his eyes clenching his fist. "Father…Subaru…I'm sorry…"

"There's nothing more we can do…" Mirei's arms lowered. "All worlds will…"

Gallantmon X charged into the miasma with his spear shouting but was swallowed up. "Gallantmon!" UlforceVeedramon shouted.

Magnamon was in the air and closest to the lowering curtain of goop. He shielded himself as he was taken next. One by one the other Digimon followed. Being swallowed up by the lowering miasma. Takumi, Ami, Takuto, and Shiki were still unconscious as those holding them held them tight with their backs against the incoming substance as it hoping to protect them from it. "This can't be…" Kyoko motionlessly stared at the substance as it swallowed her up.

DeathXmon starred at the substance that now covered the entire Digital World and had everyone other then himself trapped inside. "I HAVE DONE IT." He started chuckling. "HEH, HEH, HEH, HEH. HA, HA, HA, HA! SOON THIS ENTIER WORLD WILL DISSAPEAR! AND THEN NOTHING WILL STOP ME! HUMANS, DIGIMON AND EVERYTHING ELSE! ALL WILL BOW BEFORE ME!" He looked up at the giant globe that was EDEN. "WELL…I SUPOSE I SHOULD GO TAKE CARE OF EDEN NEXT. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE PUNY HUMANS SCRAMBLE IN FEAR!"

Takuto, Takumi, Shiki, and Ami were all lying down in black space. None of them were moving. "Hmm…" Ami's eyes twitched before opening. "What…?"

Takuto sat up rubbing his head. "Ow…"

Shiki looked around. "Where are we? What happened?"

Takumi slowly rose to his feet. "What is this…it's so dark…"

"Wait…" Ami looked down. "We were fighting DeathXmon and…oh god…!"

Takuto looked around. "Himari?! Kouta!? Luche!"

"Is anyone else here?!" Shiki shouted. "Skyla?! Terra!"

"Where is everyone?!" Takumi asked. "What happened?! Does…does this mean…everyone's gone…? Did we…fail…?"

The group was silent for a moment. Ami dropped to her knees. She covered her eyes. "Then that means…Arata…Kyoko…Darcmon…mom…Rosemon…everyone is gone…! No…!" Ami sobbed. "No, no, no!"

"It's over…" Takumi trembled. "The Malevolent Fist has won…I can't believe I'm saying this…but he's really won…"

Takuto ran up and grabbed Takumi's shoulders. "Dude, snap out of it! It's not over yet!"

Shiki crouched to Ami. "Takuto's right! Don't give up now!"

"It's over…" Ami whimpered.

"In the end…we couldn't protect anyone…not even our Digimon…" Takumi's gaze was fixated on the ground. "We're…powerless…we really haven't changed…from the kids we were back then…" He thought back to the first Eater eight years ago.

Takuto growled. With one hand he grabbed Takumi's shoulder with one hand and punched him in the face with the other. "Get a grip man! You're just going to give up now?! What happened to winning this together to atone for the past and fulfill your dreams for the future!?"

Shiki pulled Ami's hands away from her face to make her look her in the eye. "Think of everything we accomplished together to get this far! What will it all mean if you throw it away now?! You can't give up!"

Takumi looked at Takuto in surprise. "But…what can we do now…?"

"Hell if I know." Takuto replied. "You're the Cyber Sleuth, remember? You always figure out what others can't. Just like when you found out K was trying to set us against each other. You're capable of great things."

"That's right." Shiki nodded. "You two have accomplished so much. You brought out the best in everyone. Trust yourselves. You can do this. You can do anything."

"Your friends are right." A voice could be heard around them.

"Huh?!" Shiki stood up as she and her brother searched about. "Who's there?!"

Takumi's eyes widened. "…What…?"

Ami slowly stood up. She and her brother knew this voice. "It can't be…"

Footsteps were heard from the seemingly endless darkness. The four teens watched a man with dress shoes, black pants and a lab coat under a yellow shirt walk up with his hands in his pockets. He had blue eyes behind a pair of glasses and shoulder length red hair. "W-who are you?" Shiki asked.

"He looks a lot like Takumi and Ami…" Takuto noted.

The man slowly aproached them. "Takumi…Ami…it feels like a lifetime."

Takumi and Ami were both in shock. "…Daddy…?" Ami whispered.

"Father…?" Takumi breathed a shaky breath. "…Is that really you…?"

It was Takuto and Shiki's turn to look surprised. "…W-what did you say…?" Takuto gapped.

Shiki looked at the twins. "But your father…isn't he…?"

Takiyo Aiba walked up to his daughter and son with a warm smile. "Look at you two…all grown up. It brings a great warmth to my heart."

"Dad…?" Ami muttered. "What are you doing here…?"

"Does this mean…we're dead too?" Takumi asked.

Takiyo shook his head. "That won't do. You two are still too young to die here. And you have much you still need to do. Friends you need to help. Tell me something…do you truly want this to be the end? Your dreams are finally within your reach. And now you wish to let them go?"

"But father…" Takumi frowned. "I…I don't know what to do…"

Ami squeezed her eyes shut. "We tried everything we could think of, and it still wasn't enough!"

"Takumi…Ami…do you remember that one time you were both struggling with your homework and nearly gave up for the first time?"

The kids looked at their father. "Huh?" Takumi blinked.

"You two told me it was pointless to continue when you know you'll fail. Do you both remember what I told you?"

"Um…you said that no matter how low the chances are, you'll never know you'll fail until you fail." Ami replied.

"And that even then it's those who give up at failure who truly fail." Takumi said.

"That's correct." Takiyo nodded. "Now tell me. Have you failed yet? You are still alive, aren't you? So, then it's not too late."

"But…what can we do?" Ami asked.

"You get back on your feet. Just like I told you. And you keep walking forward. I became a cognitive researcher because it was my dream to make people happy. I hit many obstacles and trails. But in the end, I would say my work made a lot of people happy. Because of an opportunity and a chance encounter."

"A chance encounter?" Ami asked. "With who- Before she could finish asking she found the answer herself. "Satoru Kamishiro."

"Correct. He took my ideas and created EDEN. A place to set the mind free from the troubles of our reality. A place where people found a new happiness…even now I am proud to be a part of it. Satoru and I had many difficulties creating EDEN. There were many of us who wanted to give up. But we convinced everyone that our dreams could be reached. And look what we have now. If we gave up back then…think of the happiness that would not have created. You two of all people should know of the opportunities it brought. For humans and for Digimon. With that in mind, if you two give up here…think of all the possibilities for so many that will fade away!"

"Father…." Takumi muttered. "But I…I still don't know if we can do this…it's nothing like homework…"

"Neither was fighting the Next Order or the Eaters." Takiyo retorted. "But you persisted. And even though it looked hopeless at times you still kept going." The man smiled looking behind the two. "And besides, it's not like you're doing this alone." Takumi and Ami looked behind them to see Takuto and Shiki grinning at them. "And not just them. Think of all the other wonderful friends you made who are counting on you. And you can count on."

Takumi and Ami's minds flashed images of Nokia, Agumon and Gabumon. Arata and Diaboromon. Yuuko and Samudramon. Yuugo and HiAndromon. Kyoko and Alphamon. Mirei and Mastemon. Yukino as Satoru. Ryoto and Sakura. Keisuke, TyrantKabuterimon, PileVolcamon and MetalSeadramon. Fei and her Digimon. Hudiemon, Shakkoumon, Justimon and MarineAngemon. Himari and Rikka. Kouta and Yukimura. Mameo, File and Zero. Shoma and Noir. Sayo, Koh, Dianamon and Apollomon. Darcmon, Yukina, and the members of Harmony Village. The Royal Knights. Ryuji, Chitoste and Yu. Kiryu and Omegamon Alter-S. Yuki and Satome. Beelzemon, BeelStarmon, Gundramon and MagnaKidmon. The Legendary Warriors. And all the other Digimon who fought alongside them. Then they thought of Omni and Faye, then of Rapidmon Armor X and Rosemon X. Then of Terriermon, Dorumon, BlackAgumon, Palmon, Salamon and Hawkmon. Thinking of all of them made them warm. "That's right…" Takumi said.

"We all made promises…" Ami said. "Promises we have to keep. If we give up here…we'll be betraying everyone who trusted us to keep those promises!"

"Trying and failing isn't the same as giving up!" Takumi's eyes regained their determination. "As long as I stand, then there's still a chance I can succeed! And if I still fail…then I can be satisfied with knowing I tried!"

"And we aren't alone anymore!" Ami said holding her gloved hand. "We have people we love! People we can depend on! People we want to share the future with!" Ami's glove gave off a golden glow. "Huh?"

Takumi looked at his glove as it also emitted light. "What is this?"

Takiyo smiled. "It seems like you two found your way back on your feet. That's my boy and girl." The man looked at his own hand as it started fading. "Looks like my time here is up. I'm glad that the last people I helped were you two."

The twins looked at him sadly. "Father…" Takumi muttered.

"Don't leave us again…" Ami looked ready to cry all over again.

"Please don't make such sad faces you two." Takiyo smiled sadly. "Nothing hurts a parent more then watching their cherished children cry." He walked up to the two of them. He put his hand on the back of Takumi's head and pulled him in. "Takumi…you have done such a wonderful job looking after your sister. You've become such a strong man. And I'm proud. But you needn't believe you have to take on all the hardships yourself. If hurts those who watch when you shoulder the pain. You can try to lean on them a bit more."

"I…I'll try dad…And I'll be strong enough to protect everyone when I need to…"

"Same to you Ami." Takiyo put his hand on the back of Ami's head and pulled her in. "You have wonderful friends who are all eager to be by your side. Let them share in your efforts and rise together with them."

"Yes daddy…We'll take care of both worlds and EDEN too…it is your legacy after all…"

Takiyo smiled as Takumi and Ami buried their heads into his chest and held them firmly in his arms. "EDEN may be one of my proudest accomplishments…but it is not my legacy. My legacy…my greatest accomplishment…was bringing you two into this world…Takumi and Ami…What you pass into the future…that will be what brings the happiness I wanted for everyone. Including you two. I'll be watching you kids with pride and joy." His body started glowing. "Take care of each other and Yukino for me…and live happily. That's what I want above all else."

"Father!" Takumi clung to his father as he and Ami shed more warm tears.

"Dad!" Ami sobbed.

"See you around Takumi, Ami. I'm glad I could talk to you one more time and see you grown up…I love you. And I always will." Takiyo disappeared in a bright light with a smile on his face.

Takuto and Shiki stared at the twins hanging their heads low in silence. "Takumi…Ami…" Shiki whispered. Takuto sighed closing his eyes.

After nearly a minute of silence Takumi finally spoke up. "Father came back to remind us…that we have something we need to do…"

"That we can't give up here." Ami and her brother tilted their heads upward. "So, until it's done…we won't cry anymore."

Tears were still on their cheeks. But their eyes held no sadness. Only a steel will. "We won't doubt ourselves. We'll see this through. And make the world father envisioned."

Ami turned around to look at Takuto and Shiki. "He also told us we need to rely on our friends more. So, Takuto…Shiki…I'm sorry to ask this of you…"

"But please…" Takumi looked at them. "Please lend us your strength."

"Pfft!" Takuto laughed. "Come on you two, you don't even need to ask!"

"That's right!" Shiki smiled. "Our strength is yours! We made our own promises we have to keep too you know!"

"Thank you." Ami smiled. "Now, let's try this one more time."

"We're going to have to rely on you guys again too." Takumi said calmly. "Rapidmon. Rosemon."

Rapidmon Armor X and Rosemon Burst Mode X came out of the darkness behind him. Rapidmon Armor's armor and Rosemon's clothes were still wrecked, but they stood tall. "Of course." Rapidmon Armor X said.

"We will always fight by your side." Rosemon X added.

"We can count on you two as well, right?" Shiki asked. "Faye. Omni."

Takuto and Shiki's Digimon came out behind them with their damaged armor. "Absolutely." the BloomLordmon replied.

"We are your partners." the Omegamon replied. "Now and forever."

Takuto and Shiki's Digivices glowed blue. "The Bond Power is reacting in a way I've never felt before…" Takuto said.

"Yeah. I feel it too." Ami said. "Our Digimon…us…and all the others…our bond is what allows us to evolve."

"Shall we then?" Takuto smiled as he and Shiki put on their goggles and held up their right hands that had their Digivices towards the Cyber Sleuths. "Let's see where this evolution and our bond takes us."

Takumi and Ami smiled as they each put their goggles on and held their glowing gloved hands out. Takumi put his right hand over Takuto's Digivice. Ami put her left hand over Shiki's. Rapidmon Armor X, Rosemon X, Omni and Faye started glowing. "What a warm light…" Ami smiled.

"No matter the challenge, we'll face it together." Shiki said.

Takumi smiled. "Yeah. Just watch us father." He closes his eyes. "We'll make the future our worlds deserve. Together."

DeathXmon chuckled looking at EDEN. "NOW THEN…IT'S TIME TO GO." His wings spread. But before he could take off, four bright lights erupted from the miasma, and it slowly started to burn away. DeathXmon shielded his eyes as he was blinded. "WHAT?!"

As the substance burned off of everyone freeing them, Himari and Luche looked up. "Huh…?"

Jesmon looked at his hand. "We're…alive…"

Kyoko stared at the glowing figures with above them. "This is…"

Takumi and Takuto stood on Omni's shoulders with Rapidmon Armor X behind them. Shiki and Ami were on Rosemon X with Faye right behind them. "I-IMPOSSIBLE…!" DeathXmon shouted.

Yukino was the first to smile. "Takumi…! Ami…!"

"Takuto and Shiki too!" Luche cheered.

Everyone's gloomy mood instantly lightened. "They're all okay!" Koh gleamed.

"I DID NOT THINK YOU WOULD GET BACK UP AFTER THAT…" DeathXmon exclaimed. "AND THIS SUDDEN BURST OF POWER…YOU NEVER CEASE TO SURPRISE…"

"That light…" Mirei looked at the two sets of twins in awe.

With the four wearing their goggles, Takumi and Ami looked at their gloved hands as Takuto and Shiki stared at their Digivices. They then looked at DeathXmon. "Alphamon was right." Shiki said. "The X-Antibody is hope! Hope that anyone can rise above the greatest challenges!"

"Father showed us a path forward…" Ami said. "And we're going to follow it through to the end."

"We have dreams for the future." Takuto announced. "Dreams where everyone can live with whoever they want and however they want!"

"And all we need to do to make that dream a reality…" Takumi pointed at DeathXmon. "Is to defeat you. We won't let you trample on the future everyone deserves!"

DeathXmon laughed. "AND JUST WHAT DO YOU FOOLS THINK YOU CAN DO? YOU'RE POWERLESS AGAINST ME!"

"We still won't give up!" Ami shouted.

Shiki clenched her fist. "We'll combine everyone's might…their hopes…their wishes…"

"And we'll save our worlds!" Takuto shouted as he and Shiki held up their Digivices and Takumi and Ami raised their gloves.

"Everyone!" Takumi shouted. "We canont win this alone! As it stands none of us can challenge a god! But when we harness the power of our bonds and combine our strength, nothing can stop us! That's how humans and Digimon grow alongside each other! So, lend us that power now! Reach for the future!"

Yukino was amazed with her daughter and son when she noticed her Digimon was glowing. "Venusmon?!"

Venusmon looked at herself. "This…!"

Shoma looked around him. "All of our Digimon are glowing!"

"Us too…" Arbormon said looking at himself.

"What is this warmth…?" UlforceVeedramon asked.

All the Digimon emitted light that was starting to glitter towards Takumi and Ami's gloves and Takuto and Shiki's Digivices. "Takumi…Ami…" Alphamon smiled. "You aren't children anymore…"

Takumi, Ami, Takuto and Shiki held up their hands. "We are the masters…of our own future!" Omni and Rapidmon Armor X shouted as a giant red X flashed between them. Same with Rosmeon X and Faye. Takumi and Ami's gloves glowed as they held them up. Takuto and Shiki did their Digivices. Behind each duo was a large monitor. On one was an image of Takumi in the upper right and Rapidmon Armor X in the lower right with an image of Takuto on the upper left and Omni in the lower left. Each picture had red and golden electricity flow towards the center making a X. The other had a picture of Ami and Rosemon X on the left corners and Shiki and Faye on the right connecting to a golden X too. Then both screens showed three words.

"Rapidmon Armor X!"

"Omni!"

"Rosmeon X!"

"Faye!"

After calling out to their Digimon, Takumi held his right hand to the right side in front of Takuto and Takuto held his left hand to the left in front of Takumi, making a X shape with their arms. Ami and Shiki held their left arms up over their heads in an angle also making a cross. Their gloves/Digivices glowed even brighter as they recited the words on the screens. "Double Xross Evolution!" Omni and Rosemon X leaned back holding their arms outward as Rapidmon Armor X and Faye behind them glowed and two golden eggs formed around them.

Within Rapidmon Armor X phased into Omni from behind. Omni grew in size as the armor on his legs changed with glowing blue gems on the knees. Then the torso and chest were altered with another jewel on the center. Then his cape grew out and the arms morphed with the WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon heads slightly changing shape. Finaly the head changed with longer horns. The front horn having a blue gem. Inside the other egg, Faye phased into Rosmeon X. She grew in size and lifted her head as her red clothing glowed white. Her whip turned black and eight pink gems flew around her and flashed as her cape turned pink. She lowered her head. The eggs exploded. The new Omegamon appeared with Takumi on his right shoulder and Takuto on his left. "Omegamon X!"

On the other the new Rosemon emerged with Ami on her left shoulder and Shiki on her right. "Rosemon Burst Mode X!"

Everyone below was amazed. "No way…" Nokia gapped.

"Takumi, Takuto, Ami and Shiki…merged Digimon…?" Yuuko muttered.

"Amazing…!" Keisuke gleamed.

"A NEW EVOLUTION?" DeathXmon snarled. "NO MATTER! PERISH! PROSSES 0!" His giant hands swooped towards the two. Takumi and Ami each held a hand forward. Omegamon X held his right hand out and Rosemon Burst Mode X held out her left. They each blocked a hand. "WHAT…?" Takuto curled his left hand into a fist just as Shiki did her right before those fists jabbed forward. Omegamon X's left hand and Rosemon Burst Mode's right punched DeathXmon's hands away with ease knocking him off balance.

"That power…" Kiryu breathed.

"Amazing…" Mirei gapped slowly forming a smile. "Absolutely amazing! Those kids…they truly surpassed my greatest expectations!"

"PROCESS F!" DeathXmon put his hands on the ground and red pillars rose from it charging to impale the two and Omegamon X's left shoulder glowed and a giant gold Brave Sheild projected in front of him and Rosemon Burst Mode X blocking the attack, shattering the pillars as they made contact. "GUH!"

Shiki flung her right hand forward and Rosemon Burst Mode X flung her whip into DeathXmon's face making his screech. Takumi held his left hand forward as Omegamon X held his Garurumon head out and a giant cannon emerged from the mouth. "Garuru Cannon!" Takumi and Omegamon X shouted as it glowed blue before firing a frigid blast. DeathXmon cried out as ice traveled up his body. Then Omegamon X and Rosemon Burst Mode X charged at him.

DeathXmon reeled back then fired a giant red laser from his mouth. Shiki held her right hand forward as Rosemon Burst mode X cut in front of Omegamon X. "Rose Thorn Rapier!" they shouted as Rosemon Burst Mode X held her whip in her right hand as it extended. The red beam split upon contact with the whip like a large object cutting apart a waterfall as they continued.

"Incredible!" Gallantmon X exclaimed.

Takumi held his hand forward and the spikes on Omegamon X's left shoulder fired blue lasers into DeathXmon's face making his attack stop. Rosemon Burst Mode X and Omegamon X flew in front of DeathXmon. Ami crossed her arms along with her Digimon as the pink jewels orbited around them. They then held their hands out. "Jewel Banquet!" Ami and Rosemon Burst Mode X shouted as the jewels rapid fired pink lasers. DeathXmon screamed as they exploded upon contact combining into a pink explosion that shattered the ice.

Takuto swung his left hand out and Omegamon X did the same as his Greymon head spewed out an extended blade. They spun leftward as the sword glittered. "Grey Sword!" With one swing a red wave cut into DeathXmon engulfing him in fire.

"They're actually standing up to him!" Kouta grinned rising to his feet.

"More like dominating him!" Chitoste grinned.

"This…" Hudiemon watched stilly. "Is a new miracle…"

DeathXmon roared blowing out the flame then slumped panting. "MY CONTROL OVER THIS WORLD…CAN'T NULIFY YOUR POWER…?! ABSURD…HOW CAN SUCH WEAK BEINGS…CHALLENGE A GOD?!"

"Everyone is weakest on their own." Ami, Shiki and Rosemon X spoke. "No matter how much power they accumulate."

"Humans and humans. Digimon and Digimon. Humans and Digimon." Takumi, Takuto and Omegamon X spoke together. "When we combine out forces, there is no challenge that can't be overcome!"

"Even a god cannot match the united will of many! This is what shapes the future!" the girls shouted.

"We are the possibility for humans and Digimon being together!" the boys announced.

"DAMN YOU…YOU WILL NOT RUIN MY VISION!" DeathXmon roared making a wave of darkness expand around him turning everything around him black.

Everyone behind Omegamon X and Rosemon Burst Mode X braced themselves as they were pushed by an unseen force. Mameo was the first to notice the ground turning into wireframe. "What is…?!"

"He's trying…to erase everything…" Alphamon Oryuken said.

"No…" Sayo muttered. "Takumi! Ami! Takuto! Shiki!"

"You have to protect this world!" Koh shouted.

"Overclock." As Omegamon X and Rosmeon Burst Mode X glowed red, Takumi, Takuto, Ami and Shiki narrowed their gaze forward. Their Digimon flew up to DeathXmon again. Ami and Shiki wrapped their arms around themselves as their Digimon did the same while tucking her legs in gathering pink light.

"Roseate Perfume!" Rosemon Burt Mode X exploded in a beautiful burst.

"GAAAH!" The darkness contracted back into DeathXmon returning the ground to normal as he froze. "CAN'T…MOVE…!"

"Brother!" Ami, and Shiki called out.

"The party's over Malevolent Fist!" Takumi and Takuto replied as they along with Omegamon X flew overhead. Takumi held his right hand up and Takuto rose his left hand. Omegamon X held up his sword and golden rings with odd text circled around it before closing in and the blade glowed white.

"This is it!" Jesmon declared.

"Go Takumi!" Agunimon yelled.

"You too Takuto!" Sistermon Ceil Awake screamed.

Ami, Shiki, Keisuke, Hudiemon, Nokia, Himari, Arata, Kouta, Yuuko, Kyoko Shoma, Yuugo, Mameo, Fei, Kiryu, Sayo, Koh, Ryuji, Chitoste, Yu, Kiryu, Yuki, Satome and Mirei shouted in unison with their Digimon. "GET HIM!"

Takutmi and Takuto swung their extended hands downward as Omegamon X descended with his sword. The three of them cried out their final attack. "ALL DELETE!"

"IMPOSSIBLE!" DeathXmon cried out as the blade aproached. It sliced into his head and the monster cried out as Omegamon X kept going cleaving a giant white cut down his body slowly but firmly. When the knight reached the bottom of DeathXmon the cut started glowing as the two halves of DeathXmon split away. "BUT I'M…I…AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!" He exploded in a brilliant burst that enveloped everything in white.

Phew. I wanted to make the final, final fight all one chapter, but I really should stop making absurdly long chapters like this. Oh well. Hopefully it turned out good for the final boss fight. But with that said we're almost done here. What lies beyond the Malevolent Fist's defeat? See you next week.
