The soft light of the afternoon sun streamed through the dorm room windows as Fie stretched her arms above her head. "Alright, Laura," she said, a playful smirk dancing on her lips. "Let's see if your tying skills have improved at all. But don't feel bad if I escape in record time. It's just my thing, you know."
Laura chuckled, her hands deftly working a length of rope as she stood nearby. "Oh, I wouldn't worry about me, Fie," she said smoothly, her confidence evident. "You might find this a bit more challenging than last time."
Fie raised an eyebrow, intrigued but still confident. "We'll see."
Once Fie sat down, Laura knelt beside her, carefully tying her wrists together with practiced precision. She moved on to Fie's ankles, securing them snugly but comfortably. Finally, Laura took a cloth and held it up with a small, teasing smile. "Don't want you calling for help now, do we?"
Fie grinned, leaning slightly forward to let Laura tie the cloth securely over her mouth. Once it was in place, Fie gave Laura a mock glare, her green eyes glinting with mischief. She shifted slightly, testing the bonds, and her confidence didn't waver. Not yet.
Laura stepped back, folding her arms across her chest as she sat on a nearby chair to watch. "Whenever you're ready," she said with an amused lilt.
Fie began to twist and maneuver her wrists, expecting the ropes to give way like they usually did. But as she struggled, her movements slowed, and her brow furrowed. "Mm? Mmph!" Her muffled voice carried a note of surprise as she realized the knots weren't budging.
Laura's smile grew wider, her blue eyes twinkling with amusement. "Something wrong, Fie? You're usually halfway free by now."
Fie shot her a look, her cheeks puffing slightly beneath the cloth. "Mmmff!" she huffed, wriggling with more determination. The ropes remained stubbornly in place, and she let out a frustrated, "Mmmpf!"
Laura leaned forward, resting her chin in her hand. "I did mention I've been practicing, didn't I?"
Fie narrowed her eyes but couldn't help the faint grin tugging at the corners of her lips despite her predicament. She twisted again, trying to contort her body in different angles to loosen the ropes. Nothing worked. "Mmmph!"
Laura watched the entire scene with a calm but amused demeanor. "You look so determined," she teased lightly. "It's admirable, really. Though it seems like you might need to try something new."
Fie paused, glancing around the room, her mind working quickly. She spotted a nearby edge of a desk and began to scoot toward it, her movements deliberate. Laura raised an eyebrow but didn't stop her.
With a bit of effort, Fie managed to use the desk's edge to rub against the ropes, working them loose little by little. Finally, the tension gave way, and her hands were free. She quickly removed the cloth from her mouth, taking a deep breath before flashing Laura a look of exasperated amusement. "Damn, Laura," she said, running a hand through her hair. "You really stepped up your game. That was brutal."
Laura leaned back in her chair, folding her arms and wearing a proud smile. "I'm glad you noticed. I thought it might be time to give you a real challenge."
Fie laughed softly, shaking her head as she stretched her arms. "Mission accomplished. Guess I'll have to keep you on your toes now."
Laura chuckled, reaching out to help Fie up. "I wouldn't expect anything less."
