(Author's Note: Hello my readers and welcome to my latest one-shot.
I saw "Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare" on the first day that it came out (that being the 13th where I am), and enjoyed the film a LOT more than I thought I would. Honestly, after hearing about how "dark" and "intense" it was, I actually felt a little scared about seeing the film (something that I literally haven't felt since before I even got into horror movies).
(Truth be told, I was the first one in the theater and was GENUINELY glad that I didn't end up being the only one there:/)
But the movie did NOT disappoint. I've heard people called it the best TCU installment thus far and I've come to agree with that sentiment. This is an idea that I had, set near the end of the film. There WILL be spoilers for the movie incoming.
(And if you're one of those people who hate this cinematic universe, don't be a dick about it okay? I love the franchise and that's why I'm writing this. Plus, you know exactly what you're getting into:/)
Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy:)
The girl wouldn't help him. Fine. He didn't NEED her. He had spent years (which felt like an eternity) memorizing every detail of the room, especially the lock that kept him chained. He was certain that he could free himself…but it would not only take time but, most importantly, cause noise. Noise that Peter would hear (and, if Peter suspected that James knew how to free himself, he would only tighten his restraints further).
But Peter was distracted. Not only with his latest victim (Tinkerbell would always do her best to keep him informed about everything when she would come down) but with…whoever the girl was to the boy (likely a sister). This gave him ALL the time he needed to break out. And his first thought after FINALLY getting out of that chain? Not to escape. Not even to take a moment to savor his freedom. The only thing that went through his mind in those moments was anger. Hatred. Revenge. And it all had one target.
Peter. Pan.
By the time James had arrived at the source of the screams and sounds of violence, he found everyone there. The girl, the boy, Peter, and…Tinkerbell, lying still in a pool of blood (her arms missing from her body). The fire in his veins burned brighter at the sight of Tinkerbell's corpse. The corpse of the ONLY person who had shown him kindness in these many years (1)!
The girl and the boy in her arms saw him first, the latter (having never seen him before) looking at his visage in fear. Noting their expressions, Peter slowly turned around to take in the sight of what was behind him. James took only a moment to enjoy the way that Peter's eyes widened in fear at the realization of his presence before he let out a ferocious roar and dug his hook into Peter's shoulder, dragging the screaming man away from the kitchen.
Able to guess what they had been through, James decided that the girl and the boy didn't need to see what was about to happen.
James threw Peter onto the floor of the room that he had suffered so much for so long in. Before the older man could pick himself up, James stabbed his hook into Peter's leg before dragging it along the length of his flesh. He did the same to Peter's other leg, ensuring that his tormentor wouldn't be able to escape (not even trying to fight the smirk that the man's screams caused to appear on his face).
"Fucking…BASTARD!" Peter snarled like an animal, trying to crawl away as best he could. James responded by kicking Peter in the side, before forcing him onto his back with his foot pressed against his chest. James breathed heavily through closed teeth, looking and sounding more like animalistic growling, as he slowly leaned down. He glared into the killer's eyes with visible rage in his eyes, holding up his hooked hand (which was still dripping with Peter's blood). "Get to the main floor-," Peter choked out, blood dripping from his mouth, "-and you think…you're hot shit?" Peter coughed before revealing his bloody teeth in a mocking smile, "Eh…Hook?" James let out a loud roar that sounded downright demonic as he began furiously slashing his hook against the chest of Peter, who screamed in pain as the metal pierced his skin over and over again (even tearing off bits of flesh).
Hook. Hook. How he hated that name.
When he first encountered Peter in his home all those years ago, he was…enthralled by his talk of "Neverland". A place where he and other kids would get to play all day and night, not having to worry about parents telling them what to do. Truthfully, he remembered intending to say "Yes" to the offer.
Until he saw Peter murder his mother.
He wanted NOTHING to do with Peter after that, but the killer wouldn't let him go that easily (especially after denying his offer) and took him to his home. In the beginning, he was overcome with despair. He cried every second that he was awake, begging and pleading with Peter to just let him go. But he didn't. He said that this was James' punishment for denying him. That this is what happens to the "bad little boys" who denied Neverland. As time went on, those feelings of fear and despair turned into anger and hatred. He started lashing out like an animal, at both Peter and Tinkerbell, doing whatever he could to make his fury known. He had tried his hardest to not anger Peter in those early years…but what was the point? He was locked away in a basement, away from society or even basic sunlight. He was constantly left on the brink of both starvation AND dehydration and had to shit in a fucking BUCKET!
It wasn't as if his life could get worse.
But he was wrong. One night, Peter stormed downstairs (furious at James' latest stunt) and told the boy that he wasn't going to tolerate his "disrespect" anymore. Before James could react, or take a moment to consider his words, Peter had forced him to the ground and pulled a knife from his belt. Without hesitation or pity, Peter mercilessly hacked away at James' elbow until the first of his arm had been "cleanly" (the term being used VERY loosely) severed from the rest of his body. James ended up passing out due to blood loss and woke up to see a literal hook attached to his body. He had learned the full situation from Tinkerbell when she brought him his next meal, explaining how she had nursed the wound as best she could. Peter was the one who had decided to place a hook on the stump that he had created and was the one who'd given him his new "name": Hook.
The anger that previously flowed through James' veins simmered down into a small ember as the fight all but left his body. From that point forward, James didn't feel any sense of fear or anger. He didn't care about avoiding Pan's wrath or anything. More often than not, he would spend his days banging his hook against the wall and groaning nearly every moment he was awake. He was hoping to anger Peter, but not as some form of "rebellion".
It was because he just wanted to die. There was no point to his life. He had nothing. He had no one who genuinely cared about him (as kind as Tinkerbell was, and even if it wasn't just her guilt at play, she was still a willing ally of the monster that turned his life into a living hell). There was no point to his life, which had nothing but pain and misery as a part of it.
He just. Wanted it. To end.
Of course, Peter wouldn't do that. No matter how he angered the killer, he would never just kill him. At most, he'd just come down and beat him with a belt (which, truthfully, didn't really get through how numb his skin had grown to feel).
"STOLE me-," James spoke, ignoring the pain in his vocal cords, "-from my HOME. Took…my MOTHER from me." He drove his hook into Peter's chest, slowly dragging it diagonally across the killer's chest (who screamed in pain), "Imprisoned…ME. Tortured…ME." He grabbed Peter by the throat, holding his hook up to the man's face, "And…wouldn't. Even. Let. Me. DIE!" Placing the tip of the hook against Peter's forehead, James began dragging it across his flesh…tearing at the eyeball, not so much as flinching at the spilling of blood or the man's HOWLS of agony.
"Everything that I did-," Peter, fighting through the pain, spoke up, "-was your OWN fault, Hook. I offered you…the GREATEST gift a child could want. You could have gone to a magical place! One without rules. Without misery. Without pain. Without fear. Without DEATH! You could have played with all of the chosen Lost Boys all day and all night long. The rest of your existence would have been filled with nothing but happiness…but you. Said. NO!" His voice got deeper with the last word, "You were a bad little boy, Hook. And what's these last fifteen years? I told you…this is your punishment. This is what happens to the bad little boys who deny Neverland. This. Is all. Because of you." James' hold on his neck tightened at each of the man's words.
"Tinkerbell," he snarled out, "Helped…you. Trusted…you. You…killed her." At this point, Peter began laughing maniacally.
"Tinkerbell?! Tinkerbell was a FUCKING TRAITOR! After everything I had done…Tink had the fucking nerve to question me. To BETRAY me! And what happened…was the EXACT consequence deserved for such arrogance!" By this point, James had tightened his grip so much that Peter could no longer speak.
"No," he shook his head, "Only…arrogance…is YOURS. Not…giver. Not…savior. Not...good man." He glared directly into Peter's remaining eye, "Killer. Monster. Evil." His hooked hand began to tremble, "No more. No…MORE!" Within a few brief moments, James removed his hand from Peter's throat as he raised his hook into the air…bringing it down swiftly and harshly, slicing a horizontal line into the killer's throat.
Peter's remaining eye widened considerably as he began to choke. He moved one hand to try and cover the wound on his neck as blood poured from it. He locked gazes with James, who simply stood up in silence (his eyes never leaving his tormentor). Peter slowly raised his free hand into the air (perhaps to plead for mercy, or perhaps as a final furious desire), which violently shook…before it dropped to the floor, Peter's gurgles growing quiet as his eye fell vacant.
Peter Pan…was dead.
James just…stood there. Breathing heavily with his eyes never once leaving the corpse of his tormentor (perhaps…so many years had been spent viewing this man as some "unstoppable monster" that a part of him believed that he couldn't be killed so easily). He didn't know how long he had spent like that. It could have been minutes…or it could have been hours.
Just then, he let out a yell as he leaped onto Peter's body and began furiously hacking away at the flesh with his hook. Blood sprayed onto his body and his surroundings, and the killer's bones and organs became visible as his attacks continued…but James didn't stop. Not as his vocal cords burned. Not as his hooked arm felt like it was about to tear right off of his body. Not even as the tears began to pour down his face.
Tears for his mother. For Tinkerbell. For the girl and the boy. For all of the victims of Peter Pan (especially the children who died in this house, where James was powerless to do anything but listen as their cries of fear grew quieter and quieter). And, most of all, for himself. For all of the pain and misery that he's had to endure for these last fifteen years, with no end in sight.
James had carved away at Peter's chest so much that his heart became visible, to which he promptly reached down and seized it in his other hand. He gave the organ a furious glare for a few moments before he crushed it in his hand, closing his eyes as the blood spilled in between his fingers. He threw the crushed clump to the side as he finally pulled himself to his feet. He took one last, furious glance at the corpse of his tormentor…before promptly turning away and leaving the room that served as his own personal hell (shutting the door behind him).
James just…wandered throughout the house for a while; having no idea of what else to do now that it was all over. He was free, and his tormentor was dead…and, yet, he felt…empty. Uncertain. His entire reality, which had existed for FIFTEEN YEARS, had been completely upended. He didn't even know what he was supposed to do with himself now. He had no home. No friends. No family. No…nothing.
What was he supposed to do with himself now? What COULD he do now? As he wandered throughout the house, he made his way into the kitchen…where he found a container of matches in one of the open drawers.
Well…that was an idea.
James effortlessly lit the match, taking a moment to simply…stare at the fire, before he promptly tossed it over his shoulder. He felt a grim sense of satisfaction as he watched the flame spread across the house. He turned to look away…but, then, caught his visage in a nearby mirror.
The sight took him off-guard, as it had been forever since he'd actually seen himself. He reached out to gently drag his fingers over the (grey) skin of his cheek, before dragging his hooked hand through the strands of hair that remained on his head. He looked…haunting. Truly monstrous. Perhaps even more than the appearance of Peter Pan himself (at least that maniac looked human). He looked toward his hooked hand when he caught it in the mirror. Hook. That's what Peter had decided to call him after physically mutilating him. His REAL name was the only thing of his past life that he still had. It was the only thing that he had felt that made him feel like a human.
But…maybe he wasn't. Not completely. Not anymore. Physically and mentally, he was forever changed. He wasn't the same type of monster as Peter, but perhaps he was a different kind.
James was the little boy who Peter Pan had kidnapped from his home and took his mother from him, but…maybe that little boy had died long ago. Maybe Hook was all that remained. The rotting shell of the little boy who wasn't allowed to die.
Truthfully, there was a part of him that wanted to stay put and allow the fire to burn him away along with everything else. But then…he looked to the side and saw daylight peering through the open front hadn't seen sunlight in years at this point. It had a…hypnotic effect on Hook. More desirable than food, more valuable than money, and more beautiful than he had ever imagined Heaven to be. Hook pushed his way past the door, and was left frozen in place as the light touched his skin. Part of him recognized that it almost burned, but it also felt…glorious.
For the first time in fifteen years, Hook smiled. He felt at peace. He felt almost...happy.
(Hours Later)
The sun was setting, blanketing the land in a warm orange light. The "lair" of the serial Peter Pan was now left completely devoid of life, with Hook having left the area hours ago and the fire that he had started had suddenly stopped a while ago. Deep within the house's basement, the corpse of Peter Pan remained unmoved as his blood slowly spilled onto the floor.
Just then, however…something changed. Something unseen. Something that didn't change the environment, and would have remained undetectable by almost every possible means…but was there nonetheless. And would have been felt by any living creature within.
At that moment…it began. The blood that had been spilled and the flesh that had been torn away both began following suit, moving to Peter's body. The blood began moving back within his veins as his crushed heart began levitating. The bits of flesh moved back to their correct place behind the blood, perfectly covering each injury. The blood on Peter's face slowly went back within his flesh as the eyeball began to regenerate. His heart reverted back to its original form as it softly flew back within his chest, being fully reattached as the flesh closed up the opening seconds later. Within seconds, Peter Pan's entire body (barring the scars on the left of his face) had been completely healed; as if he had never been injured at all.
BA-DUM.
BA-DUM.
Peter suddenly let out a loud gasp, pulling his upper body up. He began coughing loudly as he moved himself over onto his stomach. He took a look at his hand as he quickly pulled himself to his knees, placing his hands all over his body (specifically his chest and face) as he did so. Just then…he heard it. The whispers in his mind that he'd been hearing for decades.
Success
Return
"I…have?" Peter began to smile, "hearing" (for lack of a better term) the pleased words from the one that he served. The being who had given him his mission of bringing the chosen "Lost Boys" to Neverland all of those years ago.
Stronger
"What?" Taking to his feet, Peter listened as he felt his master "speaking" to him. Quickly understanding what he was being told, Peter closed his eyes and took in a DEEP breath…before steadily letting it out.
And then…he began to float.
Peter's eyes SHOT open as he felt his feet leave the ground, only BARELY able to keep his joy under control when he realized the reality. The reality that had been made as such from his dreams for years now. As he went about his mission since he was a teenager, his master had given him glimpses of what he could do. Showed him the briefest of glimpses of what his full potential could be…so long as he remained faithful.
And the most consistent "demonstration"? Peter being given a brief vision of him being able to fly (one of his greatest wishes, dating back to his awful childhood at the hands of his mother).
And now? Now one of his greatest dreams had just been made into a reality. Peter couldn't fight the smile that was growing on his face and tears even began to form in his eyes.
Mission
Peter picked his head up as his master continued to "speak". A…mission? "But…I-I thought that I had accomplished everything you had asked of me," although curious, Peter ensured that he remained respectful of the one he served (especially now that he'd been given access to the power that he'd craved for so long).
New
Others
Others? Like him? His master wanted him to…find allies?
Assemble
Planet
Yes. Yes. He understood. He had long since suspected (mostly through stories) that there were other "unnatural" elements of this world. They never played a role in his quest, however, so he never gave it much attention. But now? Now it was different. He had accomplished his mission of delivering the chosen Lost Boys to Neverland…and now? He would conquer this pitiful world in his master's name.
And it is a task that I will GLADLY accomplish, Peter's joyful smile had now turned into a devilish smirk before he began to chuckle. Within moments, that chuckle had grown into a diabolical laugh (his shadow slowly growing with each passing second).
For now…it was time to assemble the army.
(Author's Note: Annnnnnnnnnd SCENE!
(1): Given Tinkerbell's personality in the film (being a genuinely good person, despite being manipulated into helping such an evil man), I fully believe that she would have done whatever she could to "help" Hook. At least…when Peter wasn't present.
-Sooo…yeah. There we go. This was written as an idea of what I believed happened in-between Peter's defeat and the ending of the film.
I became kind of "obsessed" (for lack of a better term) with the character of Hook even before seeing the film. Since this was before I realized that he was the little boy from one of the clips released before the 13th (I'm not very "in the know" about Peter Pan as a whole, so I didn't know that Captain Hook's real name was "James"), it's less a matter of sympathy for what he went through and more so because I just really liked his design. I might have been the most excited for him, so I was QUITE disappointed that his screen time basically amounted to an opening scene introduction, cameo, re-introduction, and another cameo (a total of what couldn't have been more than a few minutes worth of screen time).
The character is confirmed to be returning in "Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble", with him and Tinkerbell serving as allies to the survivors of the prior films. Given the sheer number of major characters who will be in that film, however, it's EXTREMELY unlikely that he'll get the amount of screen time that will satisfy me. Although…there is a rumor that Rhys Frake-Waterfield and Scott Chambers are considering giving Hook his own spinoff film, so…a guy can dream?
-So…what was really going on here? Like I said above, this is a variation of what I believe happened before the film ended. Now, the film deliberately left it ambiguous as to whether there are supernatural elements present…or if Peter is just a madman on drugs.
(Quick PS: I've heard this theory floating around that the story of "Peter Pan" exists within the Twisted Childhood Universe itself…and that the movie's main villain is just a guy who has convinced himself that he is Peter Pan. But that's not the case. These films are each of the stories taking place in an alternate universe with a "horror twist". The stories that WE know don't exist as stories within this franchise)
However…it has either been all but confirmed, or explicitly confirmed, that there ARE genuine supernatural/otherworldly elements within the story being told. And I have points of evidence to back up this claim.
Point #1: The movie we got wasn't the first script that Scott Chambers came up with. In the original draft, the film was going to be explicitly supernatural and take place entirely in Neverland itself. The reason why we didn't get this? A lack of money and a lack of confidence. Scott Chambers didn't believe that he could turn that script into a good movie on the budget that he had for the film. So, he had a choice to make: turn that first script into (at best) a subpar film…or, wait until he had the budget to turn it into a truly great film.
And that's what happened. A new script was written and the original draft was (basically) put in "the vault" for later use. His goal is to use it in a direct sequel to Neverland Nightmare, but stated that it could also be reworked into the script for "Awakening Sleeping Beauty" (since he said that he doesn't know how people will react to Neverland Nightmare's darker tone, and he won't do it again unless people actually want to see the franchise go that dark again). What I'm trying to say with this point is that it's clear that the plan for doing their horror adaptation of Peter Pan has always been grounded in the supernatural.
Point #2: Multiple people connected to this project did a "Q&A" in one of the theaters. This included not only Rhys Frake-Waterfield and Scott Chambers but also Martin Portlock and Peter Desouza-Feighoney (the actors who played Peter Pan and Michael Darling, respectively). When the discussion delved into whether the film was supernatural or if Peter was just a guy on drugs, Martin Portlock responded by saying that he didn't think it was "just" the drugs (implying that there's more to the story than what's on the surface).
Point #3: Scott Chambers was part of multiple interviews on YouTube that were released before the 13th. When talking about the ending (not specifically spoiling anything, of course), he shared that, in his mind, the "worst was true" (which, in this instance, should logically mean that Peter Pan is FAR more than just a "run of the mill" serial killer). He also spoke about a terrifying type of villain who's insanely zealous…but then it gets revealed that what they believe in is true.
With all of these factors put together, I think it's logical to assume that there is at least SOME truth to what Peter claims and believes in. That Neverland does exist (at least in SOME capacity), as does the "Greater Being" that he serves. And that idea is what I wrote this story around. Given Peter's injuries and exhaustion, I don't think it's a stretch to believe that Hook was able to overpower and there's no WAY that he'd let Peter live after everything he'd gone through. I then believe that this "Greater Being" would not only resurrect Peter but resurrect him with magical powers (to make him closer to the "Peter Pan" that we, the audience, all know).
One aspect of this story that I feel I should explain: Hook. I may have made his intelligence a LITTLE higher than others would. Given that he's been locked away for fifteen years, it's obvious that his mental state won't exactly be…"perfect". Personally, though, I don't him incapable of speech or higher thought (though, I don't think that he can "freely" speak and he's certainly no prodigy). As for the story of Hook? I had to delve into headcanons for that because we seem to get conflicting statements on what should have happened. On the one hand, Scott Chambers was talking about Hook in an interview (he didn't actually specify who he was talking about, but it's obvious if you've seen the film). He stated that Hook's "condition" in the film was specifically because he said "No" to going to Neverland.
On the other hand, however, there's a moment near the end of the film where Peter is threatening Michael. He says that boys who lie don't get to go to Neverland and that he wraps his hands around these boys' necks and squeezes as tight as he can.
Two conflicting statements. Our main villain all but confirmed that he kills the kids who deny Neverland, but the director himself states that Hook's life is because he denied Neverland. Which is true?
I think that they can both be true…with this headcanon: Hook (then known as James) was the first child to ever deny Neverland.
It was confirmed that Tinkerbell was the first child to be taken. Not only does she confirm it herself, but a news broadcast talks about how Peter did this when he was seventeen years old while he looked to be in his early to mid-twenties in the prologue. I don't know how often Peter goes after kids, but I believe that there were other kids taken in between Tinkerbell and Hook. When you really think about it, Peter does a pretty good job at selling Neverland as something desirable.
No bossy parents. No rules. No sleep even. Able to play all day and all night long with other children. And it's a magical place, where they can both be and do anything they want. Truthfully, it's easy to imagine that a lot of kids would love to go. I believe that every kid who was taken in between Tinkerbell and Hook said "Yes".
Then comes the film's opening scene.
When you take a few moments to think about it, that night was a HUGE loss for Peter. Although he ended up killing Roxy, she left his face permanently scarred. The simple truth is that more than a few children would be scared by his scars, making his job even more difficult. It also wouldn't be an "insane" conclusion to come that the circus where he worked wouldn't let him continue his job (at least in the same capacity) and risk scaring the audience. It's also a possibility that he could be connected to the recent murder.
So…his job would be rendered much more difficult due to his permanent scarring, he likely lost his preferred "hunting grounds", and it's even possible that he would have to go on the run from the authorities. All for a single child…who did the worst thing imaginable (in Peter's mind) and DENIED Neverland.
Peter clearly holds Neverland very close to his heart, and doubt in its existence is perhaps the quickest way to earn his anger. When Tinkerbell, who had probably been the closest thing he had to an actual friend for nearly twenty years, expressed doubt after all of the pain and death, he strangled her for her defiance (I don't know if Peter ever genuinely cared about Tinkerbell, but she would have still been the closest thing he would have had to a friend in decades). So…how would Peter have reacted to the first child who denied Neverland?
Likely? With a source of anger unlike ANYTHING we saw in the movie. Practically spitting in the face of everything Peter believes in, while being the "source" of all of the difficulties and challenges that he'd face in the future? I imagine that would make him rather apocalyptic.
That's what I think the difference was. Hook was the first who denied him, so Peter decided to make him suffer (likely deciding to show him "Hell" if he wanted to deny "Heaven"). From that moment forward, he'd simply kill any boys who followed in Hook's footsteps.
(I actually believe that Peter kills the chosen "Lost Boys" by leaving them to die in coffins, such that's where Wendy found Joey. When it comes to those who'd deny Neverland, I think he just kills them and leaves their corpses out to rot…like with all the victims from the bus)
So yeah…that's how I think both "aspects" could be true. As for the ending? With Peter being resurrected and empowered by this "Greater Being"? Also what I believed happened.
A while ago, I posted a "one-shot" about my predictions for the future films of the Twisted Childhood Universe. This was before we got anything for "Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare". No clips, no trailer, and before we even got an official depiction of how Peter Pan himself would look (hell, this was back when we all thought that "Bambi: The Reckoning" was going to be the third TCU film). All we had besides the "Blood & Honey" movies was the poster for "Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble".
My main prediction for the film (that was disproven by the first trailer:/) was that Peter had struck a deal with a god-like, immortal being. In exchange for being granted supernatural powers, Peter would kidnap and sacrifice children to this entity (with Wendy interrupting the ritual during the final battle, with the entity taking back its magic because Peter "broke the deal"…melting him into a puddle of blood and bone). My personal hope with this prediction was that the "Entity" that Peter serves would be revealed to be a Norse God. Why? Because one of the first ideas they gave for potential TCU films was Thor (the original Thunder God from Norse Mythology, not Marvel's version) and I thought that including actual gods, especially from an existing mythology, would do well with expanding the franchise as a whole.
Honestly? Gods and Aliens. These are perhaps the two things that I would MOST love to see them bring to the Twisted Childhood Universe, as I think both would be phenomenal at expanding the universe.
Originally, I was going to hint that the "Greater Being" was a Nordic Deity (probably Odin)…but I highly doubt that this would be the case. Before Neverland Nightmare was released, Scott Chambers confirmed that some of the villains in Monster Assemble will be more evil than others. As of the time that I post this, those confirmed for the film are the 100-Acre Hybrids (Winnie-the-Pooh, Piglet, Owl, Tigger, and Rabbit), Bambi, Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, Pinocchio, Jiminy Cricket (though I think that Jagged Edge Productions may not be allowed to use the name "Jiminy Cricket", since they've only ever referred to him as "The Cricket" or "The Talking Cricket), Sleeping Beauty, The Mad Hatter, The Cheshire Cat, Mary Poppins, and Tintin. He stated that Peter Pan, Mary Poppins, and the Mad Hatter will be the "worst of the worst", serving as "Bigger Bads" to the others' "Bads". A while ago, I read more than one article that stated that Peter Pan would be the "ultimate force of evil" within Monsters Assemble. Recently, however, they confirmed that this is NOT the case and that the main "Big Bad" of that movie hasn't been revealed as of yet. I've heard of a few theories about who this "Big Bad" could be. Some say Mickey Mouse (though Jagged Edge Productions stated that they won't be going near the character), the "Wolf" (a character from the Brothers Grimm, apparently?), and even the Genie from "Aladdin".
I don't have a personal theory, but I feel like it HAS to be the entity that Peter Pan serves (considering that he's confirmed to be one of the main villains that we're meant to root against). It just makes sense to me.
But yeah...finished. Sorry for the LONG finishing Author's Note, but I just had a lot to say. I'm just hoping that it didn't even up being longer than the one-shot itself:/
(PS: when the "Greater Being" was talking to Peter, I wanted to have their text be crossed out...but I couldn't get that to copy onto this site. I even tried doing it on Word on my laptop and directly copying it, but it still didn't work. Neither did the command control that I looked up (Alt, H, 4). Does anyone know how to do the "Striked Out Text" directly on our profiles when we're working on our stories? If you do, I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know)
Hope it was enjoyable. Hope it made you think a bit. Here's a little something to consider in the spirit of this franchise: if you could add any one franchise to the Twisted Childhood Universe, what would it be? For me, it'd be "Ed Edd n Eddy". That's been my absolute FAVORITE cartoon since I was a kid and I would LOVE to see how Scott and Rhys would adapt that franchise into the Twisted Childhood Universe.
