Chapter 2

Snowblade closed his eyes, he didn't move, nor did he even want to right now.

His head lay on the ground on its side, his tongue sticking out of his mouth and blue blood spilling into a large puddle around him.

"That was anti-climactic, take the body away, I don't really care where, just not into the palace," he heard King Tundra say to Crystal.

He felt the metal come off from his limbs and wings, he could wait just a few more moments before surprising everybody.

Three, two, one. He counted to himself.

His tail was lifted, he decided smack the dragon lifting it in the snout.

"OW!" came a muffled voice, they had their claws around their snout, no doubt about that.

"Decapitation, that's new," Snowblade said, lifting his body and placing his head back in its spot. "I'm kidding, it's very entertaining to do that."

"What?!" All the dragons shouted in unison.

"Now, if you'll excuse me, I have things to do other than stand here and let you ogle over my survival," Snowblade explained. "You really should put a notice on that; 'Snowblade cannot be killed, so don't try'."

All the dragons who saw his execution were now speechless. Snowblade walked back into the palace.

"WAIT!" Crystal called to him. "How did you do that?"

"Escaping the dead? Not really my fault, ask Twilight, not me," Snowblade said.

"Can you do it again? Or is it a limited number of times?" Crystal asked.

Snowblade gripped his head and took it off, then tossed it to Crystal. "Do you think it's a limited number?" he asked her.

"Isn't Twilight that imaginary girlfriend of yours?" Crystal tried to clarify with him, nobody believed that she'd ever been real.

"She IS real, and very much alive, you can thank my father for her disappearance," Snowblade explained.

"Snowblade?" came a small voice from in front of Snowblade's body.

Snowblade quickly took his head back from Crystal and put it back onto his own body.

"Snowowl! What are you doing here?" he asked the dragonet.

"I saw you die, why are you still alive? And what are you doing with the mean dragon who killed you?" Snowowl asked.

"I... Remember the last words that Twilight told me? Apparently, that was some kind of immortality spell, and I was discussing big dragon business with the mean dragon who tried to kill me," Snowblade explained.

"Hey! I'm not mean! I was only doing my job; it's Snowblade who doesn't know how to die!" Crystal complained.

"You still tried to kill me, like many others...including my own father..." Snowblade clarified for her.

"Who exactly is Twilight? And why have I never heard of her if she's so impressive?" Crystal asked cockily.

"Another thing you can thank my father for, destroying all scrolls that include the PearlWings and writing them out of history, I saw him doing it after escaping the Stone Kingdom," Snowblade explained.

"I'm still here," Snowowl reminded the two of them.

"Yes, just a second Snowowl," Snowblade said.

"You realize what this means right? They will find a way to make you suffer; whether by torturing or finding a way to kill you by any means necessary," Crystal explained.

"I can think of a way to kill me, but no king or queen would ever resort to that... Ever," Snowblade said. "They know what would happen."

Crystal looked genuinely confused. "Why wouldn't they resort to that?" she asked.

"Because they figured out a long time ago that if I'm still alive, then so is their greatest enemy..." Snowblade explained, leaning in closer to Crystal. "The mountain"

Crystal's eyes went wide. "So, you're saying that The Dragon in the Mountain is the sworn enemy of all kings and queens? How can that be?" she asked.

"Well... When I was just twelve years old, there was a notion that the so-called Dragon in the Mountain and her whole tribe were too powerful to be left alive, so all kings and queens of that time banded together and imprisoned the whole of the PearlWings, I think I can still hear King Tundra and Queen Narwhal discussing them on occasion," Snowblade explained, he dared not mention The Council to her, on the chance that she couldn't keep that secret; only royals knew of it... No exceptions.

Snowowl decided to speak up. "Do you mean The Cou-?" she started before Snowblade put his wing on her snout, signaling for her not to mention it around Crystal.

Snowblade looked down the hall to make sure there was nobody else around who may have heard what Snowowl had tried to say.

Unfortunately for the three of them, he saw King Tundra, Queen Narwhal and Queen Sahara approaching them rapidly, with some kind of malice in their intentions.

"Snowblade of the BlizzardWings, we have need of you," that was the last thing he heard before he was knocked unconscious by something cold and hard.
