A/N: This does not take place in the same timeline as my other Dreamgirl stories.

The atmosphere in the bar was thick. Serena sat at the bar, but her mind was on anything other than her drink. Instead, her eyes were on the single ribbon in her hand, her mind on what it meant.

"Why didn't I tell him sooner?"

Serena felt on top of the world. After years of effort, she had finally become Kalos Queen. She was so happy she wanted to scream. But most importantly, there was someone she wanted to tell more than anyone else.

She waited anxiously as her phone rang, hoping Ash would pick up soon.

"Come on Ash, can't you be near your phone for once?"

Her worries soon dissipated when Ash picked up, his bright smile filling the screen.

"Serena! Great to see you again! I just saw it on TV, congrats!"

"Thanks, Ash!"

"So, what did you want to talk about? Not that I don't want to see your cute face, but…"

Serena blushed. Maybe this would work out alright.

"Well, I wanted to say that-"

"Hey Ash, who's calling?"

Before she could pour her heart out, another person stepped into the frame.

"Oh, hi Goh! Serena, this is Goh! He was there with me back when we met in Hoenn."

"Oh yeah, Chloe mentioned you! It's great to meet you!"

"Same! Ash talks about you a lot."

Serena turned her head away momentarily to hide her blush before turning back.

"Right, well-"

"By the way Ash, we need to get going if we're going to catch the movie!"

"Crap, you're right! Thanks, babe!"

If this was a sitcom, Serena was quite certain there would've been a record scratch.

"Babe?"

"Oh, right! Goh and I are dating!"

"Dating?"

"Yep! Ever since the Masters Eight."

"Sorry Serena, we have to get going. It was nice to meet you!"

"Yeah…same."

With that, the scene went blank, leaving Serena alone with a broken heart.

"I knew I should've told him sooner….ah, who am I kidding? For all I know he might not even be into girls."

"Hey there chum, why the long face?"

Serena glanced up to see Lisia sliding into the seat beside her.

"Oh, hey Lisia."

"Why are you here, anyway? Hardly seems like the place for the Kalos Queen to spend her days."

"Boy trouble."

"Ah. Come on, spill the beans!"

"To my rival?"

Lisia shrugged.

"Not while we're off the clock!"

Serena sighed. It couldn't hurt.

"Well…there's this boy that I like. I mean REALLY like, and we'd known each other for years…"

"Ooooh, a childhood romance!"

"...But when I called to confess, I found out he was already dating someone."

"Ouch. Well, that's no reason to get down! There's plenty of Feebas in the sea."

Serena sighed.

"I guess…I just got my hopes up really high."

"Well, I know what can help with that! Yo, bartender! Another round of drinks!"

The bartender complied, dropping two more shot glasses down on the bar in front of them. Lisia quickly raised hers into the air.
"To getting over boys!"

"Are you sure this is a good idea?"

"Sure it is!"

Serena thought for a minute, before smiling and raising her own.

"To getting over boys!"

"That's the spirit!"

"This was the worst idea you've ever had."

Lisia giggled drunkenly, playfully slapping Serena on the shoulder.

"Ah, lighten up! This is supposed to be fun!"

Serena rolled her eyes at her rival's drunken foolishness. As it turns out, Lisia was not great at controlling herself when drunk, and an hour after they had started the woman could barely stand. Serena was a little bit better at it, but she could tell she was on the verge of losing it herself.

"Heeeey, this looks pretty!"

Before Serena could reply, Lisia had grabbed the ribbon Ash had given her out of her hands, holding it up to inspect.

"Hey, give that back! Ash gave that to me!"

"What happened to trying to forget about him?"

"Come on, give that back!"

Serena continued to try and grab it, but Lisia always pulled it out of reach. At one point, Serena lunged at her, but Lisia stepped out of the way, nearly causing Serena to fall over, making Lisia giggle.

"Missed me, missed me, now you have to kiss me!"

"Well, if you insist!"

This time, instead of trying to grab the ribbon, Serena pushed her up against a wall and crashed her lips onto hers, catching Lisia by surprise. While she was caught off guard, Serena moved to grab the ribbon…

But in her drunken state slipped and grabbed hold of Lisia's dress, and with one tug tore it in half. The ripping sound tore Serena out of her stupor, and she could only stare in horror at the torn fabric in her hand.

"Oh my god…Lisia, I'm sorry, I-"

Lisia just grinned, and kissed her back. But Serena didn't have time to process it before Lisia grabbed her dress and tore it in half as well.

"There! Now we're even!"

Despite the absurdity of it all, Serena couldn't help but giggle.

"You know…you're kind of hot…"

"You're not too bad looking yourself, hot stuff."

Lisia began caressing Serena's body, making the other girl shudder.

"What do you say we take this somewhere a bit more private?"

"Oh, yes! This place is getting too stuffy for my liking."

Lisia giggled, and dragged Serena away.

The next morning, Serena woke up with the worst hangover of her life, the sunlight hurting her eyes before she had even opened them. She tried to raise her arm up to shield them, only to find it pinned down by something. Grunting, she glanced over…

To come face to face with Lisia.

"Oh shit…"

Moaning, Lisia opened her eyes, only for her horrified expression to match Serena's. Luckily, a quick glance proved they both were still dressed, albeit in torn dresses.

"Serena? Oh crap, I-"

Immediately, Serena jumped up, trying to retain whatever dignity she had left.

"This was a mistake."

"Serena, I-"

"I'm sorry Lisia, this was a bad idea on my part. I promise you won't have to see me again."

Serena quickly ran out the door, leaving Lisia very confused.

Serena sat huddled in the stairway, crying her eyes out.

"Serena?"

Serena glanced up, only to turn away immediately when she saw Lisia coming over to her.

"Go away."

"Serena, I know this isn't exactly how you thought things would go-"

"I don't know what I was thinking! God, I made such a fool of myself, and you! You must hate me for that, and-"

"I liked it."

Serena paused mid-rambling, caught off guard by the sudden admission.

"Really?"

"You're a good kisser."

Serena sighed, and sat her head against the wall.

"Well, no offense, but I don't know if I liked it or not. I came here to get over Ash, but I didn't expect this!"

"Are you…you know…"

"Into girls? I don't know, maybe?"

"Well…do you want to find out?"

Serena looked up, puzzled.

"How?"

"Well…we could…you know? Have a little fun…"

"You'd do that for me?"

"Like I said last night, you're hot. If nothing else, you'll know for sure, and if you don't like it we can move on. But if you do, maybe we can…be something more than friends?"

Serena thought for a minute, before smiling and accepting her hand.

"Let's do it."

A few hours later, Serena and Lisia were back in the bed, any clothes they had left gone as they relaxed.

"Hey Lisia?"

"Yeah?"

"It's official, I like girls. Not exclusively, you know, but still."

"Great! Glad I could help. So…"

Serena thought for a minute.

"I'm not ready for a relationship right now, but…maybe we can be something else. Friends with benefits?"

Serena smiled.

"Deal! Speaking of which, ready for another round?"

"Let's."
