Chapter 6 Riku and Weiss vs Zexion!
Team RWBY have just been reunited at long last along with them, the Kingdom Hearts team has all it's members.
Sora, Donald, Goofy, Riku, and Kairi.
After hearing of Xemna's plan, RWBY have decided to help the team fight and defeat him so they can return safely to their world.
The full team start walking together, to get to know each other and learn about this world.
"So... Sora right? What exactly is your weapon? It looks like an oversized key. Very impractical if you ask me." Weiss comments.
"Oh! It's a keyblade. A weapon tied to my heart and can utalize magic. This specific one is called the Kingdom Key." Sora says smiling.
"Woah! Magic? But you're not a maiden. How can you use magic?" Weiss asks surprised.
"Well... What's a maiden?" Sora asks awkwardly.
"UHH Well..A Maiden is a woman is granted magic?" Weiss tries to explain.
"Hey! I can use magic to! I happen to be royal court magician. no. I've never heard any tale of maidens being the only ones to use magic." Donald adds in.
"Weird... Maybe whatever this world is. It doesn't run on our rules." Blake suggests.
"Yea. Must be. I kinda learned magic naturally and thanks to some help from Donald and Merlin. So whatever this Maiden thing is about... Doesn't apply here." Sora explains.
"*sighs* I just figured out magic is real and only used by specific people and now it's just blown out of the water." Weiss says trying to wrap her head around everything.
As the group continued walking, Blake found herself gravitating toward Riku, who trailed slightly behind the group. Something about his quiet demeanor intrigued her—he seemed to carry himself with the weight of someone who had seen too much.
"You're Riku, right?" Blake asked, falling into step beside him.
He nodded, glancing at her. "And you're Blake."
She nodded back, her ears twitching slightly. "You seem… different from the others."
Riku raised an eyebrow. "Different how?"
"More… introspective, I guess. You don't talk much, but you're always watching. Like you're analyzing everything."
Riku chuckled softly, his hand brushing the hilt of his Way to the Dawn keyblade. "Old habits. I've had to learn to keep an eye on everything around me. Darkness has a way of sneaking up on you when you're not paying attention."
Blake's expression softened, and she looked away briefly. "I get that. I used to do the same when I was… part of something I shouldn't have been."
Riku's gaze sharpened, sensing the weight behind her words. "Sounds like you know a thing or two about regret."
Blake nodded slowly. "Yeah. I made choices I thought were right at the time, but looking back... I hurt a lot of people. I'm trying to make up for it now."
"I know what that's like," Riku said, his voice tinged with regret. "I've been down that road too. Made mistakes, trusted the wrong people, even hurt the ones I care about most. But…" He glanced at Sora, walking ahead with Kairi, Ruby and Weiss. "It's not too late to make things right. As long as you're still trying."
Blake followed his gaze and smiled faintly. "That's what I keep telling myself. Even if I don't always believe it."
Riku's lips curled into a small smile. "You should. You've got a team that believes in you. That's more than I had for a long time."
Blake looked at him curiously. "And now?"
"Now?" Riku's grip on his keyblade tightened, his smile growing a bit more confident. "I've got a team too. And I'll fight for them, no matter what."
Blake's ears perked up as her smile widened. "Looks like we have something in common after all."
"Aww! The dark and brooding bonding and hanging out together! So cute!" Yang jumps up hugging them both.
"Ah! Yang! What did I tell you about my personal space!?" Riku yells in a playful agitated way.
As the team are walking and continuing to bond, Riku sees a beast known as a Wolf Grimm behind Weiss as it is about to swing it's claws to attack her.
"Weiss! Look out!" Riku yells as he jumps over slicing at the Grimm with Weiss looking behind surprised at seeing a Grimm.
However after he slices it, it just turns into nothing.
"What the-?" Weiss and Riku ask, looking around.
"Where did our team go?" Weiss asks when suddenly the ground below them starts shifting and building as walls emerge from the ground eventually creating a huge ballroom, being blue and white like ice and snow. The stairs being clear as if to be fancy.
"This looks like the gathering spot at my home. But how-?" Weiss asks before being interrupted hearing a low chuckle.
"So now that I have the two of you here. Shall we play a quick game?" A voice speaks, as he walks turning out to be Zexion!
"You! I've fought you before!" Weiss says
"Right you are, Ice queen. And you, Riku. I have some memories of fighting you." Zexion taunts.
"Yea me too. And last I remember I defeated you!" Riku says drawing his Way to Dawn Keyblade.
Riku's grip on his Keyblade tightened as Zexion chuckled, his voice dripping with condescension.
"Defeated me? Oh, Riku, what you defeated was merely a fragment, a sliver of what I truly am. But that's all in the past. And speaking of the past…" Zexion raised his lexicon, the pages flipping on their own. "Let's revisit the shadows that haunt you both, shall we?"
The ballroom began to shimmer and distort. Weiss and Riku instinctively stepped back-to-back as the pristine ice-blue walls melted into darkness, replaced by scenes from their deepest fears. Weiss gasped as the shadows formed into familiar figures—her family.
Her father stood tall and cold, his gaze piercing through her like frostbite. "You'll never amount to anything, Weiss. You're weak, a disgrace to the Schnee name."
Winter appeared next, her tone sharp and commanding. "Do you think you can lead? Do you think you can even stand on your own?"
Behind them, Riku staggered as his own apparition emerged—a shadowy version of himself, clad in the dark armor from his past. His replica's eyes glowed an eerie yellow as it sneered. "Look at you, still clinging to the light. But deep down, you know the truth. You're a failure, Riku. A vessel for darkness, nothing more."
"Riku…!" Weiss called out, her voice trembling as her father loomed closer, his judgment crushing. "They're not real, right? Tell me they're not real."
"They're illusions!" Riku shouted, shaking off the creeping despair. "Don't listen to them!" But even as he spoke, his darker self advanced, whispering venomous truths.
"You let your friends down. You hurt them. Sora, Kairi—they should have left you behind. What makes you think you're any different now?"
Riku growled, gripping his Keyblade tighter. "You're wrong!" he yelled, slashing through the image. It vanished in a puff of smoke, but the weight of its words lingered. He turned to Weiss, who was still frozen in place, staring at the spectral forms of her family.
"Weiss, don't let them control you!" Riku called, his voice cutting through the oppressive atmosphere. "They're not real, and you're stronger than this!"
Weiss shook her head, tears welling up. "But what if they're right? What if I am a failure?"
"You're not!" Riku said firmly, stepping forward. "You're more than their expectations. You've already proven that. You don't need their approval to know your worth. Look at everything you've done—fighting for your team, standing up for what's right. You're not a failure, Weiss. You're a fighter!"
Weiss blinked, her grip on Myrtenaster tightening. Riku's words cut through the fog of doubt, and for the first time, she saw the illusions for what they were—shadows meant to deceive her.
"You're right," she said, her voice steady. "They're not real. They're just lies."
With a flourish, Weiss spun Myrtenaster and unleashed a glyph that shattered the illusion of her family. The ballroom shifted again as Zexion snarled, his calm demeanor faltering.
"Impressive," he admitted, clapping slowly. "But this game isn't over yet."
The room rippled once more, summoning a swarm of Grimm and Nobodies. The Wolf Grimm from earlier reappeared alongside Dusks, their sinewy forms writhing with menace.
"Let's see how you fare against something a little more tangible," Zexion taunted, retreating into the shadows.
Riku smirked, stepping forward. "We'll take them down, together."
Weiss nodded, summoning a glyph beneath her feet. "Let's show him what we're capable of."
The duo launched into battle, Riku's Way to Dawn clashing against the Dusks while Weiss elegantly danced through the Grimm, her glyphs creating an intricate web of attacks. As they fought, their synchronization grew, each movement complementing the other.
Suddenly, Zexion appeared behind Weiss, his lexicon glowing ominously. "Checkmate," he whispered.
But Riku was faster. He unleashed a blast of dark fire, forcing Zexion to retreat. Weiss seized the moment, freezing him in place with a glyph and unleashing a flurry of strikes with Myrtenaster.
"Your illusions can't control us anymore!" Riku declared, leaping high and delivering a decisive slash to Zexion. The Replica stumbled back, his form flickering and dissolving.
As he fell, Zexion's voice softened, strained with pain. "Aagh…GAH… I, should have known better…"
"How so? You finally realize you're just a coward?" Riku asked, his voice sharp but laced with curiosity.
Zexion let out a faint, bitter laugh, wincing again as his form began to disintegrate. "Y-Yes… all I ever do is hide… behind illusions, behind lies. I thought they'd make me invincible. But in the end, they only revealed my weakness… my fear."
He raised a trembling hand, watching as the skin flaked away, revealing the stark white of a replica's hollow frame. "I always envied stronger, more capable fighters… fighters like you. But… this body… this existence… it wasn't meant to learn or grow. Heh… just another illusion."
His gaze shifted to Weiss, his tone softer now. "Weiss… do you remember when I asked if you were just an entitled brat or a true fighter?"
Weiss hesitated, her brow furrowing in confusion before she nodded. "Yeah… I remember."
Zexion managed a faint smile, though his expression was tinged with regret. "You've outdone yourself. You've proven to be far more noble… far more capable… than I could ever hope to be. I'm sorry… I was wrong about you."
Weiss stood silently, her grip on Myrtenaster tightening. She opened her mouth to reply, but before she could, Zexion's body began to dissolve entirely.
"I'm just… a coward…" he whispered, his voice fading as the last of his skin disintegrated, leaving only a blank, hollow shell behind—a lifeless replica body, crumbling to the ground.
The ballroom shattered like glass, returning them to the World That Never Was. Riku lowered his Keyblade, turning to Weiss. "You okay?"
Weiss nodded, a small smile gracing her lips. "I am. Thanks to you."
"Good," Riku said. "Because our friends need us."
Weiss twirled Myrtenaster, her confidence fully restored. "Then let's go."
Meanwhile the rest of the team where up ahead running, but then suddenly a dark portal opened up and swallowed, Kairi, Donald and Goofy in it.
"Sora!" The three yelled at they quickly got transported.
"No!" Sora yells reaching out but it was to late.
Just then a feminine voice spoke.
"Why hello thier Keyboy! And it seems the Pussycat has returned as well!" The voice spoke as they turn to see her!
"Larxeen! If I recall correctly you're supposed to be defeated!" Sora yells, with Blake beside him just as annoyed remembering her fight.
"Hehe! Well whatever the case you son't have your little friends to help you this time. And I'm feeling like a real challenge! I want to fight you and the kitty!" She yells before a maniical laugh.
Blake initially looks very worried, remembering her fight and her lose.
However she grips her blade tight and says "I'm done running away! I'm done trying to do tasks myself! Sora and I will fight you!" Blake says to motivate herself.
Sora smiles at her words and summons his Kingdom Key, ready to fight!
