Chapter 79: Dormitories Part 1

"That was close. If we waited even a day longer, Himiko would have died."

"I could have handled those guys." The girl in question responded.

"I wouldn't count on that. Both Shigaraki and Compress can incapacitate a person with one touch. They are both quite dangerous."

"And smart, unfortunately. They left the prison shortly after freeing Mustard from his cell."

"They are my friends!" The original blonde exclaimed.

"But they aren't MY friends." Her replacement replied

"What happened to others?" Izuku asked.

"Most of the prisoners and guards were knocked out by the gas, although a few of them managed to escape on their own. One unlucky person was found decayed on the floor, God Bless his soul."

"Thanks for busting me out, mom!" Himiko Kayama her new adoptive parent.

"You are welcome, sweety."

Both Himiko and Nemuri got used to being a family very quickly. With former it was because she wasn't a naturally developed person, so to speak. Midnight, on the other hand, had a softer and more empathetic side to her. This side is what allowed her to help the green head years ago. Still, the speed of their transition was jarring."

"The League are a pain in the neck! We need to find them and stop them!"

"Maybe I could disguise as a random thug and infiltrate them? That would be ironic, given old me's mission."

"But you don't have a hero license! And you weren't taught at a hero school." Midoriya tried to protest

"You don't need school for everything, kiddo. Some skills just come naturally." Diavolo argued against him.

"Izu-kun, old me has been on the run from police for almost a year. I can handle this."

"It does sound like a promising idea, but Izuku is right. We can't let you go out and do hero business out of the blue." Nemuri said. "Speaking of old you, how is she doing?"

"She doesn't want you guys to go after her friends."

"Her "friends" tried and still are trying to kill you, me and everyone else. They don't seem willing to cooperate with us."

"I know, which is why I say we should shank them and let them bleed out." Younger Kayama let out a sadistic laughter.

"Looks like this Himiko isn't that different from the old one. There is still fascination with blood and violence."

"Doctor Kisen will have a field day with her, that for sure." Kira added his two cents.

"This bores me." Kars complained. "Why don't you go and play chess with chimera? I have a good feeling about today."

"So, what will happen to me now?"

"First, you need schooling. UA general course is too advanced for you, but our staff can bring you up to speed in no time. You will go back to school once the League is dealt with."

"I imagine people who worked their ass off to pass the written UA test will be angry that she receives personal tutelage from UA staff." Izuku thought out loud.

"Given her reputation as "symbol of hope", she'll likely be fine. Second, Ryo Inui and Kinuyo Kisen will monitor your mental condition. It's possible that old Himiko will resurface eventually."

"I hope that won't happen. That bitch should disappear." Girl's words stung Midoriya's heart and reminded him of his failure.

"Moving on, you will receive blood from Recovery Girl to ensure nothing goes wrong. I suppose you can ask people for bites, but don't push it. That's all for now. Is there anything you want?"

"I want to change my first name too."

"Why?"

"Maybe then everyone will forget about Himiko Toga, he he he."

"I don't think that's a good idea." Green head shook his head.

"Whatever you say, Izu-kun!"

Hero students and their families were moving their belongings into the dorms. UA apparently had enough money and land to afford four separate buildings: two for each class and then two for their families. Melissa was put with 1A as per her choice. The remainder of the day was spent moving things from trucks into the dormitories. Eraserhead explained the rules of staying and left teens alone.

"It's kind of weird that our parents had to move here too." Kyoka confessed.

"At least they aren't in the same building as us." Mina parried. "It means we can have some fun!"

"Didn't you guy already live away from yours?" Asui put finger on her chin.

"That's beside the point!"

"I have an idea, guys!" Tooru jumped in excitement. "Let's see everyone's room and then choose the best one."

"Is there a point to these ratings?" Shoto with slight enthusiasm.

"Come on, it will be fun!"

Izuku was first. The big collection of hero merchandize was expected, but the paintings of various girls and women half of the class of guard.

"I didn't know you were so good at drawing." Tenya said. "Although the fact these are only female portraits is a bit concerning."

"It's just something I do in my free time."

"I wish I was so good at this, kero."

"This stuff looks expensive. Izuku must have spent All Might's inheritance to acquire all of this merchandize."

Bakugo had to be convinced to even allow others into his room. Katsuki's room was surprisingly similar to the previous one, but instead of paintings it had training weights and skiing gear.

"I like mountain trips as well." Shoto decided to comment. "Perhaps we could go together some time in the future? I know a good spot."

"Do you think I can't organize my own trips, Two-Face?!"

Tenya's lair was full of spare glasses and books. It was also cleaner than both of the previous rooms.

"Do you really need to so many of them? I've never seen you lose or break a pair, even during training."

"You can never be too careful! What if tomorrow factories close and I will have to rely on my stocks for months?"

"That's a lot of books, but I bet you never read half of them." Kyoka smirked.

"Preposterous!" Iida barely contained a scream. "As a matter of fact, every book that contains a bookmark at the last page was read by me. I may not remember the finer details, but I can give you the general idea off the bat."

"3000 yen say you're lying." Jirou really got into this.

"I do NOT wager money."

"Then I get to wear these specs." She took a random pair from a shelf. "Ehh, looks so tiny."

Much to everyone's surprise, Iida was able to back up his claims. The boy adamantly refused money, even returning it after the rocker girl pretended to forget it in his room.

Tokoyami's dark den was full of animal skulls, ancient looking artifacts. On his desk there were tarot cards and something that looked like voodoo dolls. They resembled members of the League of Villains.

"So cute!" Mina picked up a tiny Mr. Compress and squeezed it a bit. "Did you make this yourself, Birdie?"

"Yes yes yes. Now put it down. These aren't mere toys, but instruments of vengeance!"

"Can you make my doll, please?" Pinky made puppy eyes.

"Is that a real sword? Cool." Shield tried to pick up the blade.

"Where did you get these skulls? They don't look like replicas to me." Yaoyorozu was concerned.

"Get out! All of you!"

"Ahhh!" Atsuhiro yelled.

"Are you okay? Shut the fuck up!" Jin responded.

"I just felt sudden pain. It's like Mt. Lady tried to crush me in her hand."

"You should work on your posture then. I don't give a crap about your health!"

Todoroki's room was full of traditional Japanese elegance. Everyone bar Momo couldn't help but wonder how did he renovate it so quickly.

"If hero business doesn't work out, you can try architecture. You'd be great at it." Ochako couldn't help but admire the work.

"I'll tell my father I'm switching careers then."

"Wait, really?"

"No, but his reaction should be amusing. That is how you prank, right?"

Everyone laughed instead of answering

Shouji's room was a barebones as it gets. There were only a tiny desk and a mattress.

"I thought Momo would buy you something." Izuku said.

"She offered, but I'm not a needy person."

"You are so annoying sometimes, Shouji-kun." Raven hair complained internally.

"Alright, now let's see the girls' rooms!"
